Dick's Drive-In

We "dine" at Dick's Crossroads on most Fridays. In the area, we stopped at Dick's on Aurora. It was a great surprise. Their preparation of the meat patty on our Deluxe was perfect. It was just a little less "well done," but well cooked. The bun was fresher and the condiments were evenly spread. The cheese was melted nicely. We will stop again when we are close to that location. Good Job!

For a quick meal, it's good. Very greasy fries. Sometimes you just want greasy fries. The service is outstanding! Quick order and serve. Cool old-fashion signage catches your eye. Much cheaper than any of the popular burger fat foods joints! For two of us we got 2 cheeseburgers and 2 fries for $13. The burger is similar to a plain cheeseburger from McDonald's. The fries are a small- medium from McDonald's but greasy good like Five Guys. We came here on the way to doctors in Tukwilla. I would not come here again unless I'm in the area and crave a simple burger.

This spot is a total gem! If you're craving affordable, delicious burgers, this is the place to be. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and downright tasty. Plus, the fries are fresh—never frozen pre-packaged stuff. Instead, they use whole potatoes, cut and cooked right in front of you for that perfect crunch. It's such a popular hangout that it was packed with people. The line outside just proves how loved this place is!

Hit this spot on the way to the airport, as I’m sure many do. Not exactly on the way but worth the detour. A local institution it seems and has that old school vibe. They don’t waste time and don’t mess around. Young folks inside work their tails off. This location is probably a bit more rural/blue collar versus others closer to downtown Seattle but that only adds to the good vibes. Reasonable prices and a good greasy burger, fries, and shake. Can’t go wrong!

Decent but I don't think I'll be back. It was our first time trying Dick's. They employees were super friendly and the food came out super fast. The patties were crispy and delicious and the bun was tasty. The fries, however, were limp, pale, and barely cooked. Their burger sauce is also pretty sweet which was unexpected and we didn't love it. Also be aware that there are no seats or tables.

Dicks Drive In is quite an experience! It reminds me of an old school burger joint. Great prices and high quality food! You simply can't beat it for what you pay!

I love Dick's drive in. It's been 3 years since I was in the area and was looking forward to a delicious deluxe, fries and 2 tarter sauce. The deluxe was not bad, the fries were not warm. I was very disappointed, the staff was really nice and accommodating.

Dirt cheap! Very good, classic burgers. Fries are amazing!!!! The pickles on the deluxe burger is more like a relish. The fries are hand cut. Ketchup does cost .20 per unit and the units are in small cups. Just FYI. Very good! The shakes are like the old McDonald’s machines. Super cute!

We were told Dick's Drive In is the local fast food burger joint to try. You park, walk up, order, and leave. No tables. Simple menu with 6 types of burgers ranging from $2.45 to $5.30, fries, ice cream, shakes and sodas. No combos, all a la carte. We got the 1/4 pounder deluxe which had two thin patties, cheese, lettuce, mayo and chopped pickles. I hate pickles but it was so well disguised by being chopped like relish and that sauce was the best part for me. The bun was soft. Also got the fries. Loved it. It's like, if McD and In n Out had a baby. Condiments cost extra and it comes in a container. Just a basic inexpensive burger that tastes so good! Definitely coming back another day.

Several people said we had to try Dicks before leaving Seattle. After eating there not sure why. Service is very fast but it's hard to hear through tiny windows. It's easy to order though since they only have 5 items. We had the deluxe, fries and chocolate shakes. The amount of sauce on the burgers is crazy. It just oozes out and makes a mess. The fries are greasy and limp. Shake was thick but little chocolate flavor. Not sure I need to come back.

WELL PRICED CHEAP BURGERS - Dick's is a great alternative to a McDonald's cheeseburger, super affordable and reasonably tasty. No modifications are possible and as a drive in there is no seating available. It's iconic in the area for a reason with a huge following of ardent followers, including Kenji Alt Lopez if I recall correctly. People love this place but I'd rather spend more for a more gourmet burger. Still sometimes you just want something reasonably good and affordable and Dick's is both of those things. Okay so I lived in Washington for my first 25 years and never tried dicks. I know, don't judge me. I just never got around to trying it and didn't care to go out of my way. With that said, I have a few thoughts. I personally think the burger itself is over hyped. People have told me it's one of the best fast food burgers in the greater Seattle area, and I think they were saying that based on pride. Like it was good, but not the best thing I've ever had. With that said, I do think the bang for the buck is pretty darn good. The deluxe is a solid amount for $5, especially these days. Compare that to other fast food places and it's right on par with what you'd get. Plus, dicks does a lot for the community and always gives back. It's a worth a visit just because of that. I'm happy to try i finally tried dicks and although it's not the best, it's definitely solid and a reliable stop for a meal.

Got a deluxe Dicks. Didn't want to have to write this. I only wanted to check in. But it would only register that I was at Dicks when I clicked review. Service was Aok. Ambiance? Does dicks even have ambiance? Sorta. The burger is great. I'm glad to be back in my hometown again. Live Seattle and Federal Way.

A classic icon of Seattle get your deluxe and enjoy I love their tartar sauce which is bomb with the fries. Definitely a place to go the food is quick and consistent. Of course you must go here

The fact Seattle compares this to In N Out is beyond me. We're talking about fresh ingredients to the mush I received. I mean, you get what you pay for I guess. It's cheap. Quality not all amazing. Fries -__- are a combination of salty & burnt.

Eater Seattle claims this local burger shop as one of its favorites for takeout. Wanting to try something local and iconic, I bookmarked this location because it is the closest to the airport. Upon arrival, I was excited to see a retro midcentury design with an open kitchen concept and a large parking space to dine in the car. I would give a thumbs-up to the service. When I explained it was my first time trying it, the server recommended trying the shake. What I ordered: DICK'S SPECIAL (One Patty, Lettuce, Mayo, Chopped Pickle) - The order came out quickly in a big brown bag. The burgers were neatly wrapped, and while I appreciated the soft buns, the burgers did not bring much excitement, as I felt they lacked depth in flavor. It honestly felt like a one-and-done experience visiting the city. KETCHUP--NOT FREE. I paid $0.44 for two, and they came in neatly sealed plastic containers. FRENCH FRIES - The fries were overcooked and a bit flimsy. VANILLA SHAKE - The shake was tasty and comparable to the shakes from In-N-Out. About three-fourths of the way through, I poured hot Americano into it, and it tasted like sweet coffee.

I don't usually come here because I find the food to be too greasy, but I did today because the burgers were 19 cents. The fries were still too greasy which I knew before coming, no complaints. What I didn't like this time around is that I was served my drink and it's not even full. I'm missing 1/5 of my drink. And I asked and paid extra for ketchup and was given tartar sauce. The cashier was nice, but I hoped my next experience can be a pleasant one.

This is an FYI, we purchased over $30 worth of food, only to come home and find that they didn't pack one of our deluxe. I was too tired to drive back and decided to call the next day. Basically, all they said was they could not confirm that they made a mistake and would not give us the missing burger but only offered us "comps" which isn't enough to get us the missing burger. So, if you ever order from them, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK UR BAG before you leave! Because they don't give a damn about you or their mistakes. Can you imagine losing a customer over a burger because it's more important that they're suspicious of you like you're lying than to own up? Thank you for your comp but no thank you. Train your staff better.

An iconic seattle hamburger drive-in I have enjoyed for years. A special, fresh cut fries, tartar and a coke with crushed ice. No frills consistent burger, fries and a shake or coke. Service is quick. Staff friendly.

Dick's drive In is the place to go for a lazy, at home movie night, late night snack. It is the iconic Seattle Burger drive -in. The menu never changes, except for the ice cream flavors, periodically. When you order a burger, you know exactly what you'll get & always hits the spot! And the fries? Some call it soggy, some greasy, I say, gimmee more fries with my Dick's Deluxe Burger!

After a day at Mount Rainier we came here after hearing about it. The place was very busy but unfortunately no tables to sit outside and eat. The burger was not good, honestly McDonalds is better. The fries were okay. I do not need to return here.

70 years! Still family owned! Unique throwback to an more simpler time. One that McDonalds lost a while back. Going here is like stepping back into the 50's. Where can you get Tarter on a Hamburger? It's a NW/Northwest thing. Only we get it? Another aspect to food is the atmosphere and it's employees and how they're treated. Dick's has been well known to support their staff like only a few other restaurants. Another is their events like yesterday. So much fun to be surrounded by humble talented innovators and sculptures. We celebrated cars from the 40's to the 60's. They also provided us with food and memorabilia. The merchandise for Dicks is super awesome and I suggest the cool blue hats and shirts. Thank you Dick's!!!

Second time here because when I searching burgers In Seattle and the pic of Bill Gates waiting in Dick's burger always pops up, that makes me want to try. Compare to other burger places, Dick's burgers are definitely cheap, burgers start from $2.45. Can you believe a burger only $2.45? Just like cheap airline concept, every additional item cost extra lol, onions, ketchup... all cost extra but still cheap. No complaints about the food based on their prices. However, I really really hope they can offer more food selections! By the way, they open late which is really convenient for night owls.

Burgers are good but the fries are some of my all time favorites! Great place to stop if you are passing by.

If you are a fan of Dick's Drive in (and many people who live in Seattle definitely are) then Kent is your destination!! From the SeaTac airport, drive down southbound I-5, and hang a right on exit 149, then southbound again on Pacific Highway. Keep driving until you see the Dick's Drive In sign! Yes, you will go out of your way, like I do. And, oddly, it's not as far away as you think. You do have to some street maneuvering to get there, as it's not a quick turnaround to get there if you are driving southbound, but it's manageable. I'm not sure how busy it is on weeknights, but for sure, it can be crowded on a Friday or Saturday night. And it won't fail you if you want to get there before 2am if you are needing that Dick's Deluxe burger with special-fry sauce. And make sure you time your journey accordingly, because when you order your fries, you want to make sure they are still nice and hot - the draw back of making fries with fresh potatoes every day. I personally don't get shakes with my burgers, but like all other locations, they have them and they are efficient when getting them out, and they are just as tasty in Kent, as they are in every other location that Dick's has a store. So, when you are in Kent, you know where to go! No explanation needed. It's Dick's!

Came here to pick up some burger and fries. The service was quick and ordering was easy. We ordered cheeseburgers and lots of fries. This place is better than in n out. The cheeseburgers tasted so good, but just plain ones. The deluxe was too fancy haha. The fries even though their bendy are still so good! Will definitely come back!

Dicks is so consistently excellent and every Seattle trip includes a visit. Great fresh burgers and fries with a delicious chocolate shake makes for a great meal anytime. No frills, zero pretense, just good old fashioned quality food done quickly with great quality.

I think this is my new go-to place on the way to/from the airport. It's a convenient location to take out of town guests for a quick PNW tradition. It's no Habit burger but I think it's better than In-N-Out. The milkshakes are definitely a must and great addition to any meal. There are no tables so be prepared to eat in your car or take it to go. Gotta love the nostalgia and the pricing to match!

Great place for a late night bite after a night out or anything really since they're open late. I'd say overall, the food is mediocre esp at the price point. Fries are delicious, burgers are alright- they don't do any modifications, and charge for ketchup or any extra dipping sauces. The place is super fun and great place to hang out and eat on a sunny day or warm night. Location is great, about a 10min straight drive from the SeaTac airport and near the I-5 exit. Easy to find for first timers

The only burger place I crave. I love that you can get plain burgers because that's exactly how I eat mine! The fries are actually good, yes I have had in & out (horrible fries) and five guys (too greasy), these are nice and salty and fresh! Sometimes the lines can be long, but service is quick. Don't expect to eat inside, it's a drive in. Eat in your car, take it somewhere or home.

Tried Dick's since we had heard this local burger joint was better than In-n-Out. It was good for service, uniqueness, and service time. Sadly the burger lacked flavor. The tartar sauce was different but not being able to make any additions/changes didn't allow to get a burger that one of us would have preferred. Like a previous reviewer, this is a one and done for us. Doesn't hold a candle to In-n-Out.

Must try if you're in the Seattle area! Quick service, so you can't customize your burgers. The cheeseburger is delicious! Love the fresh cut fries. & their chocolate shakes are YUM. the only thing is that their fry sauce is just a tartar sauce, not like your typical fry side ketchup/mayo based. Love stopping here on the way home from the airport.

Not a bad little late night snack. Basically think of a "non franchise" knockoff in n out lol I don't mean that as an insult either. Visited from California and was recommended this spot. Food is cheap but taste pretty decent. Had a deluxe burger combo and didn't break the bank for it. They get your order served quick and parking lot was large so major plus points for that

The food tasted like the schools burgers back in the day... The service were rude saying we couldn't customize anything and being disrespectful. It's like Dicks Last Resort without the humor part. The ambiance was retro. (THEY CHARGED FOR KETCHUP) WHO DOES THAT IN 2024!!!!

Driving 99 on Sunday noon. Stopped by Dick's place to ordered a deluxe and a special with flies, added chocolate milkshake and vanilla milkshake for $20. It was a very quick service and easy. There is some deals if you're guaranteed student 2022. I saw that note for order counter windows but sorry, I didn't read it carefully. Anyway, Dick's burgers and milkshakes tasted nostalgic. I think it's good for everyone to eat hamburgers and milkshakes here once in a while to regain their nostalgic feelings.

Whenever I travel to Seattle, I almost always will make a couple of stops at a Dick's Drive-in. Since I was staying near the SeaTac Airport, I drove down here a couple times for a quick, cheap, and delicious meal. Each time, I would get my usual order: 2 Dick's Deluxe and a milkshake. This location was no different from the other locations that I've visited in that both the taste and quality was consistently good. The employees here were fast and efficient. I'll definitely be back!

Dicks is always good, this is a regular stop every time I am near. I love that they pay their employees a livable wage and the food is always above average and cheap. Sometimes their fries can be hit or miss, but today was excellent, my only reason for not giving 5 stars is the wait times, the crowds, and charging for a side sauce to dip.

I've had Dick's Drive-In on my list of places to try for years. I grew up in California so of course I'm a huge In-n-out fan. I've heard a lot of people compare the two restaurants. I personally didn't think it was even remotely close. I wasn't really into the flavor of the tartar sauce that was on the burger. They don't do substitutes, which was fine with me but just something to keep in mind when looking over the menu. I appreciated how quick the service was. The food is also pretty cheap but their burgers are super small so if you want to be full.. one may not be enough. We got a shake, which I thought was okay. The fries were good but also nothing special. All in all I really just felt like it was kind of an average experience. I think maybe my expectations were too high!

First review of the year! I'm a big fan now for sure. Finally got to have Dick's in my mouth!!! Sooo yum haha. Dick's is supposed to be the Washington (Seattle mainly) version of California's In-N-Out. Comparable since they are both cheap, using fresh never frozen beef! Anyway, I had to try the different options. The deluxe (double double), the special (single cheeseburger) and of course the fries. I forgot to try the regular cheeseburger lol. If you want to taste the condiments and veggies more, get the special. The deluxe is definitely more meaty! Fries were not bad! Just ok, but I digged the burnt saltiness and semi sogginess of them. The fries complimented the burger staple of Dick's! In-N-Out still has better fries, but I came here for the burger!! Overall, I LOVED that I could taste their patties. I'm a California native born and raised. So I'm supposed to love In-N-Out the "mostest" hahah. But to be honest, I thought Dick's was better! A super unpopular opinion I'm sure, however everyone's entitled to their own thoughts! I feel all Californians say In-N-Out is the best cuz that's the bias they're always gonna have. Same with Seattle/Washington natives who I'm sure would say Dick's is the best. It's just what you grew up with LOL. Yes I admit, In-N-Out has the better sauce & spread but a burger is supposed to be all about the meat too right? That's the star of the show, and if I can't taste the meat patty because the spread and veggies overwhelm it, then I feel it's not that great of a burger. That's my main gripe with In-N-Out was that I could never taste the patties. Their burger would drown in sogginess due to the veggies/sauce (I liked Dick's semi soggy fries but I don't want soggy burgers lol)! I didn't want to have to substitute and remove the veggies to taste 'em more. Or have to get a hamburger just to taste the patties. I want all the fixings just in a proportioned way and to come as is. Also, they're always so so messy. Why can't In-N-Out just wrap it, enclosed so it's nice and warm vs. getting a colder burger by the time you get home with In-N-Out lol. I'm not trying to hate, it's just my honest opinion between the two. The simple mayo relish for the Dick's burger just brings out the meat flavor more for me. The other thing I tried was my fiance's chocolate milkshake which was honestly and plainly good as well. Richer, smooth chocolate taste. I think it's better than In-N-Out's shakes. Sometimes less is more. I appreciate the simple and no nonsense approach Dick's has: -no substitutions -shakes are one size -no drive thru, just a plain drive in/walk up type of joint -packaged & wrapped up nicely/not messy like In-N-Out -no dumb long line just to get a burger! lol However, I do wish they'd offer the mayo as a fries condiment, aside from ketchup. Funny enough, they offer tartar sauce instead. Not mayo but tartar sauce, and they don't even serve fish! Oh Dick's lol. Not a deal breaker for me cuz I still enjoyed my meal but it would be nice to have mayo on the side. Also, I heard they have a starting pay for their fast food workers at $20-25!? Sheesh. With tuition support and full medical benefits & 401k matching?! Just wowww. Good for them. Sorry for the long review of this fast food burger chain hahahh. If you read all this, thank you! Lol

Quick and fast service. Burgers are nothing compared to what we have in texas but they are tasty and do the job if filling you up on a budget. It's an open space so you can eat out front or in your car. Will come back again.

This was my first time at this location it's a old school type drive in no drive up window You have to get your lazy but out of the walk up to the window to place your order I had a deluxe cheeseburger a chocolate shake and a side of fries with ketchup and tartar all of which were very tasty the service was good there was a little bit of a line but it went fast after placing my order I walked to my car and they were calling me back food was done yes I would recommend it and will return!

Our first meal in Seattle that was recommended, and I would completely recommend it too! We got there around 10 p.m., and we waited almost 30 minutes in line. There were multiple lines, so I was thinking that this place had to be good, right!? We ordered the deluxe burger with fries and a strawberry shake. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was the perfect late-night bite. The workers were really sweet, and the service was incredibly fast once you went to order. It's important to know that you cannot substitute anything, and they charge for a lot of different add-ons.

One of the first places that was recommended to me when I moved to Seattle 20+ years ago was dicks drive i I looked at the person like they were crazy but they highly encouraged that I try it. It's a local burger joint but well worth the trip. if you're averse to long lines, go online to their website and they have line cameras at most of their locations now so you can see what kind of a potential wait there might be. The menu is simple, and the workers move things along very quickly. I have found a fair amount of parking at each location and eat in my vehicle. The parking lots are kept clean. It's an overall great experience. If you're a Seattlelite or visiting, I highly recommend a trip to dicks drive-in .

So this is gonna be bad for me haha! My new work is SO close to here and I've eaten here at least 4 time within the last 2 weeks. They're always super quick with their food, cheap and tasty! I rarely went to the ones in Seattle because it was a deep drive. But now that my new job is less than a 5 min drive. This will make me fat haha. Get the deluxe and fries!

One of the down sides to moving back to WA is no more In-N-Out Burger. I ate at Dick's many years ago and here everyone thinks this place is the greatest place ever for burgers. Decided to give them another try with an open mind. I LOVED the chocolate shake, it was better than the other place. Fries were also good but not as good as In-N -Out. This place doesn't put onions on their burgers and I love GRILLED ONIONS on my burger but that wasn't an option. The burger was good but needed grilled onions. The "secret sauce" Dick's uses on their burgers is odd and I didn't like it. For fast food it was good, just wasn't great.

Good burgers, very small like a jr bacon cheese burger from Wendy's. Very expensive. The fries are really soggy and cold/oily. The staff was fine. A lot of it was policy. Asked for fresh fries and they refused and said they're supposed to be cold and soggy. Locals recommend this, I've been 3x now and will never be back. Warning: you can get Wendy's and it'd be more worth it. Poor quality, quick but unwelcoming service, and expensive. Skip this place!

Went there tonight, they where fully staffed at 01:00 a.m. I had to wait to order because the only counter help was deep in conversation with the security Guard about giving a girl directions to some where. Once I was helped, the service was quick. I ordered 2 fries and left. Now about the fries. They were barely warm. They where limp as to be expected for fresh cut fries. But some how they where dried out and barely edible. I think they were left on the warmer for very to long. I realize it is a new Dick's . But they really need to improve there service and food. I will still patronize the other Dick's locations. But this location should be avoided in my opinion.

My Washington friends highly recommended this fast food chain, saying that it's their staple burger chain in Washington. The location that my friends and I went to was in Kent, located in the same parking lot as Lowe's. The parking area for here can get packed as it's only a take out place and people are eating in their cars. I got the deluxe burger and fries. It looked sad by how small it seemed. But boy. The burger is pretty good! The relish def made the burger goooood. I can see why people would hype this place up. The fries aren't bad either. Pretty oily but understandable because it's a fast food chain LOL. Prices are relatively cheap, but I had to pay for the condiments?? What LOL that's different. Definitely recommend checking this place out at least once if you're visiting Seattle area. A huge perk is that they're opened until 2am! Great place to go after a night out.

My parents, whom I love dearly, have been divorced for 16 years. My mother, a hyper competitive, church going, god fearing, professional racquetball player, and my father, a suburban dwelling, groovy wayward carpenter, with a distain for organized religion, with very little sense of time urgency. Although there's very little they see eye to eye on today, one view has remained consistent, instilled in me since boyhood, that: Dick's Drive-In is the archetype of quality hamburgers and the standard that all French fries should be judged against. And that their line has every shape and size of person in it, from your local heroine addict to Bill Gates.

Thank goodness they finally put in a south location! I was driving way too far for a good burger, but at some times it was definitely worth it. I hear that Federal Way will be open sometime soon as well, yay for Dick's making it more in the south! This place never fails to hit the spot, especially after a long night out. It tastes like home! I always get the special burger with fries and a coke. No, the drinks are not $1 like McD's, but totally worth paying a few extra bucks in order to get their food items. I've never been an ice cream girl, so I never go for their shakes or sundaes, but my pets always seem to like them, haha. In my opinion, I'd rather just wait until I get home to add extra onions or ketchup because it's a little ridiculous to pay a little more for such a small portion. This is now much more possible btw since I don't live super far away anymore! I couldn't wait until I got home before haha.

9/10 times it will be a 10min+ wait for a plain cheeseburger. Why? Most times, I just opt for the plain hamburger because of the long wait but plain cheeseburgers are what the kids prefer so it sucks that their processes or "cycles" are so rigid. Like, just slap a cheese slice on a plain burger, what's the big deal?!

Ordered from Door Dash, I know, not a good move. Shorted half the order, the fries look like someone strangled the bag. Not by the driver, whoever placed them in the bag must be having a bad day. They were smashed with what looks like a hand print on the bag. Cheese burger buns were hard and crunchy (old or sitting out). I'll go to Pick Quick from now on, it's better anyway.

piece of plastic in my burger, no idea where it came from but this is super unsafe. As you can see it's jagged and has somewhat sharp edges. Would definitely recommend everybody look at their food before they eat .
