Detroit’s Best New Bars, Winter 2025 | Eater Detroit

"Downtown just got another hot spot for cigar aficionados in the Penobscot Building. Did It My Way Cigar and Wine Bar features moody interiors, with lush drapery and loads of overstuffed leather chairs and sofas. Private cigar lockers (available for rental) line the walkway as guests enter. An oversized poster of Muhammad Ali’s famous victory snarl and the Sinatra-inspired name are nods to a bygone era of confidence and swagger. Guests can sip from a wide range of cocktails, wine, and whiskey, including cognac punch and Scotch sours." - Mickey Lyons

Literally sitting here got served raw biscuit and overly fried chicken. Chicken looks raw. No seasoning My date ordered this food not me. Drinks mediocre. Bar tender just asked me how was everything and I told him no and he walked away. Cool whatever. First time here. This is definitely my type of atmosphere but with the trash food and mediocre drinks I don't see myself coming.

By far one of the best cigar bars I’ve ever been to. The humidor had a variety of choices, the drink was made to perfection (ask for Wolf, he is awesome!) and the vibe and conversation was top notch. I will be traveling back to Detroit just to visit this place

This might be my new go to spot downtown for a drink and a cigar. Love the ambiance inside it is very classy and upscale! They have a great cigar selection and the drinks were creative and flavorful. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is beautiful the food was just okay - we got the chicken wings and they were very fatty and felt like they came out of a Tyson bag. Overall though this spot is amazing and will be recommending it to my friends and family! Cannot wait to come back.

Had some time so was looking around the map and found this cigar lounge. Drinks and cigars are on my list of things that make me smile. What really sets I Did It My Way apart was the Salmon.. so good! The vibe is great! Drinks terrific and service is tops Don’t be like me and pull at the door when it clearly says PUSH 😆 Well worth a visit! Sandra took great care of me 👍

This place is fantastic and needed here in downtown Detroit! An upscale cigar lounge with great food and spirits? YES! The service was amazing, Sandra did an amazing job of explaining the menu and ensuring we were enjoying the cigars. I recommend the wings (it was a special) and if not, the steak frites!

From the moment I opened the doors I knew I had fallen in love with my new favorite place for dinner or just a night out. This place is so aesthetically pleasing I could not stop taking pictures of everything in there. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the staff is very attentive and made the best recommendations. The bathrooms are nice with these huge full length gorgeous mirrors which the girls will definitely love for their bathroom pics. There's also a beautiful fire place inside that I loved sitting by to stay warm. I mean you could have a full on photo shoot in the place and not be disappointed. If you're looking for a pleasant and soothing ambiance with delicious food and more, this is where you need to be and it will become addicting.

From the moment I walked in, the service from Wolf was top-notch. The lounge itself is upscale and welcoming, with an excellent selection of premium cigars and an extensive bar that really sets it apart. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined, making it a great place to enjoy a cigar and unwind. Highly recommend this spot to anyone in Detroit looking for a first-class cigar lounge experience.

This is the perfect spot to enjoy a great cigar, delicious food, outstanding drinks, top-tier wine, and smooth music all in one place. For years, La Casa was my go-to cigar lounge in the city, but lately it’s become too crowded. Did It My Way is a breath of fresh air, this is the grown folks’ hangout. The vibe is mature, laid-back, and diverse. The service was top-notch: attentive, personable, and impressively knowledgeable about both the menu and the cigar selection. It’s clear the staff takes pride in creating a quality experience. This is without question a fantastic new addition to Detroit’s growing cigar scene and a much-needed one. Best of all, the kitchen serves food until 1 AM and the bar stays open until 2 AM. Exactly what Detroit needed. I’ll definitely be back.
