"Family-owned and famous for a 10-course seafood lunch or dinner served right on the beach, this experience can take at least three hours and includes dishes such as smoked angelfish, barbecued mackerel, and kreef (South Africa's spiny lobster); reservations are required." - Katie Jackson

You definitely pay for the experience and not for the value for money. Will I do it again, No.
The food was ok. What we enjoyed was tasting fish you would normally know and eat.
You do leave having had enough to eat.
Do read others posts and make it your call to go or not.
The seating is extremely uncomfortable. Your table and bench are fixed and can not move. If you have back problems you will not enjoy the seating.
Do pack a jacket as it might get cooler in the evening.
The atmosphere, you and laughter of the staff are unforgettable.
The staff are extremely friendly and welcom you with open arms.

We had one of two staff functions at Die Strandloper. The food was delicious, yet little skimpy. Tiny broken pieces of fish. Maybe alternate one of the many fish dishes, with another meat dish. Our staff that did not eat fish, missed out, as there was one meat dish only.
The atmosphere was making up for everything. The young lady, working in the rest room, was absolutely brilliant.

A different experience! Delightful. The atmosphere was casual and positive, everyone clearly having a great time. Beautiful location and I liked how you could easily wander round during or in between courses. Lots of variety with dishes and a particular shout out to the superb homemade bread. Loved it.

Went with a group of friends on a trip to the Western Cape. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and informative. Every course was delicious and I really enjoyed all of the new fish I got to try. I particularly enjoyed the Snoek. The homemade bread and garlic, lemon, butter sauce were fabulous accompaniments. A perfect way to spend a day.

Setup looks nice and on the beach, unfortunately we couldn't experience the 10 course meal. Were suppose to book a seating in advance before you go there. We went out for a day drive to that area and were not aware of bookings in advance. Also maybe for the better, while walking through the restaurant with their permission, I saw one staff member handling cooked fish with het bare hands. See my video. We were offered drinks at their pub area, but said it is CASH only.

Really wonderful restaurant right on the beach. You get 10 courses, more than enough to eat. The home made bread is superb and crayfish tales simple and delicious...Take sunscreen with you and a hat. You can take your own beer or wine. Well worth the drive

Absolutely delightful experience with delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Super affordable with no corkage charge for bringing your own drinks. Beautiful setting with wonderful people and vibe, including the live guitarist who serenades you throughout. I'll definitely be back, with friends! I think it would be an especially lovely place to bring friends who don't know the Cape, because it's a wonderful experience of tastes, sights and sounds to truly show off the Cape style!
