Really wonderful restaurant right on the beach. You get 10 courses, more than enough to eat. The home made bread is superb and crayfish tales simple and delicious...Take sunscreen with you and a hat. You can take your own beer or wine. Well worth the drive

We had one of two staff functions at Die Strandloper. The food was delicious, yet little skimpy. Tiny broken pieces of fish. Maybe alternate one of the many fish dishes, with another meat dish. Our staff that did not eat fish, missed out, as there was one meat dish only. The atmosphere was making up for everything. The young lady, working in the rest room, was absolutely brilliant.

I went for the experience and that's exactly what it was an " experience " the food was okay. I enjoyed the bread and homemade jams the most. The fish dishes lacked seasoning, it was a bit bland. But the most off putting were their rustic toilet facilities....men and women together using the portable toilets, and by late afternoon the smell was unbearable. Seating were a bit uncomfortable too, again it's part of the rustic "experience " The views are amazing and if you feel like taking a dip in water you can.

Absolutely delightful experience with delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Super affordable with no corkage charge for bringing your own drinks. Beautiful setting with wonderful people and vibe, including the live guitarist who serenades you throughout. I'll definitely be back, with friends! I think it would be an especially lovely place to bring friends who don't know the Cape, because it's a wonderful experience of tastes, sights and sounds to truly show off the Cape style!

I have been wanting to go to Die Strandloper for years and after finally booking in advance, hubby and I went for their Wednesday lunch. The experience in itself was great! We were very chilled, the atmosphere of the outdoor beach restaurant - with the sound of a strumming guitar and serenades and people coming together to share the afternoon - was well worth the wait. Shoes off, beach sand between the toes and ten courses of home-style outdoor cooking was just what we needed to relax. If you're looking for a fancy seafood place and are dressed to the nines, find somewhere else...but if you're looking for rustic seafood, homemade bread, a myriad of dishes, standing in (fast-moving) queues and sitting on low benches in the sand then this is the perfect place. The toilets are porta potties too, but I have never seen (or smelt) such clean outdoor toilets! I will be back for dinner when I remember to book in advance again.

Lovely day at the ocean with the 10 course meal. It really was worth the experience paying R410, which is actually a steal. The people at Die Strandloper were amazing and friendly. It was worth a day trip Sunday mini roadtrip.

This is a great experience. Sea food in all its glory. However, felt like our experience was a little rushed-they combined meal 7and 8. I guess it was due to the weather(rain). Even so, it was a great experience. Perfect for an outing with family or friends. The view by the beach is incredible, and the staff is forever smiling, and friendly.
