After spending decades in the art, antiques, and design world—at places like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the antiques store Didier Aaron, and with the interior designer Jacques Grange—Jill Dienst opened her own gallery in 2005. Now housed in a former warehouse in NoHo, Dienst + Dotter offers a highly curated selection of furniture, paintings, objects, lighting, and books, the staple of which is Scandinavian art and antiques, pure and minimal.br>

Yelp
I usually love stopping in here but today a super pushy sales assistant in head to toe bright orange asked me if I wanted to see some paintings "just next door. I can get the key and show you". Why in gods name would I go somewhere else with her to look at paintings I expressed no interest in. I usually love the people who work here but I don't know many people who respond well to that particular sales technique. Hard pass.

Yelp
Camille was SUCH a doll - I guess that her hospitality stemmed from her being from the south. The other lady that was there acknowledge us for a brief second, but completely ignored us right after, as some may do when running into an ex-significant other.
The store from caught Luke's eye from across the street, especially since he loves antiquities. We enter and was blown away from the arrangement. It was very simplistic yet sophisticated in style. Their arrangement focus on Scandinavian pieces, and their rustic style is quite beautiful. Though we just browsed, I'm sure the prices were outrageous, especially since the items were quite old, yet, in a beautiful condition.
One of the main reasons I wanted to write this is that not a lot of people would think to visit an antique store in New York but this spot caught us by surprise! Also, Camille was such a breath of fresh air and she needs that recognition. If only we can afford the products, I'd buy everything since the showroom is something I'd love to live in!
