"Between the upstairs bar and downstairs bar, there’s plenty of seats to watch the game — or just hang out on the outside patio instead. It’s the official bar of local Arsenal supporters club the Boston Gooners. Head to the downstairs bar, join the crowd, and grab a Carlsberg for $3 during Arsenal matches." - Erika Adams, Eater Staff

Overall great experience here. The food was delicious, but the portion of fish for the fish & chips was small. The soda machine was broken and the beer we ordered was out, but the food we ordered came out pretty quickly and tasted great. We had the cauliflower and steak appetizers, the cheese pizza, and the fish & chips.

We’re here from Nashville. We came for a post wedding party and we all had a blast! Amazing drinks, food, music and bartenders! We decided to come back before our flight on Monday and were lucky enough to get Tom as our bartender. Great guy. Great place. We’d highly recommend it.

Google
Was amazing, we were there for the arsenal game as I am a huge fan. The atmosphere was loud and fun (this was the watch party). Not too crowded, the service was quick. We had a couple of beers and a Nashville chicken sandwich and a pizza. They were not to die for but they weren’t bad either.

Google
A very busy and fun atmosphere bar in Back Bay. We opted to make reservations online (Resy) to secure an outside patio table on a busy Saturday evening. The place was packed, service was good and food decent. One chicken sandwich was a bit overdone, but quickly corrected by an excellent server and the lobster roll was outstanding.

So darn yummy - drinks and food! The outside patio has excellent views!

Came here for brunch and ordered the country benedict but the poached eggs were so over cooked, which is pretty much the essence of the dish. No salt and pepper shakers or napkins at the table. The wait staff were great, just wasn’t super pleased with the food. Probably wouldn’t come for brunch again but their burgers are pretty good for dinner

Google
The service was really good, and it was pretty crowded and a tough room to be a server, so it was really impressive. The food was great. We got a cozy table in the corner in the front window, and that was nice. Some of the other spots wouldn’t have been so good. The only minor ding, and not at all their fault, is how loud the patrons were. I would want hearing protection if I had to be in there much longer. All that shouting at a sports ball game makes sense, but just generally shouting in a crowded room, not so much. The food and service easily overcame that minor annoyance.

The foods and drinks were good 4/5. But one of the servers was very rude and that ruined the whole experience. Our main server was a very nice lady. But it was busy so it’s hard to get the server’s attention when we needed to order so we had to go through the hostess (the only person that walked by us) We ordered dessert. Waited 30mins until we could not wait anymore so we told the hostess that we want to cancel dessert and just get the bill. The main server came, who had no idea that dessert never came out so she went back in to check. Then a different server brought out the dessert, put at the edge of the table aggressively and said with an attitude “if it’s here it’s here” I understand that it’s busy there. But that attitude is just not acceptable. The manager refunded the dessert (we never touched). And we still tipped 20%, but I’m definitely not coming back.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. New Speakeasy downstairs was top notch! Will definitely be back

Yelp
Solid! The current 3-star average doesn't represent my visit and I'm not sure how that happened. This review might get upgraded from 4-star to 5-star with another visit. Our visit was on a slow weekday during lunch hours. Business was slow and one waitress, Maria P., handled the few customers. She promptly greeted and seated our small group. It was a beautiful day, so we took advantage of the shaded outdoor seating. We asked for water while we perused the drink, food, and specials menus. The water was prompt and Maria answered our questions about the specials; Two smash burgers for $10 seemed too good to be true. But true it was. Then the fat kid in me also ordered the other special: a BIG bowl of NE chowder, BIG parmesan (hot) pastry, and a fish sandwich for $27. This 3-course special was split between two of us and the smash burgers ended up being leftovers. The tequila was good, the food exceeded expectations, and service was great!

Yelp
Comfy bar in a great historic building next to a still operating fire station. Way cool. Attentive and spot on service--good teamwork. Generous and well crafted cocktails--we went for old fashioneds and Manhattans. Wish we could move this place to Nashville. It could teach the Music City something about quality and quantity in a historic bar setting.

Yelp
Visited on a Friday night with a friend and had a great time! We were looking for a chill place to have a couple drinks with dinner and this was a great choice! Our server didn't come around super often, but I typically appreciate that. She came just in time to bring us drinks, a to go box, etc. Everyone was friendly and we sat in the corner next to the window so it was nice to people watch while we had dinner. I had the steak sandwich, which was great, and my friend had the cowboy burger which was just as good (a little greasy). My only complaints are that the fries were a little bland, but I'm just being picky. Also the music was REALLY loud. Your individual tolerance for loud music varies of course. This isn't a blow-your-socks off place, but the food is tasty and I'd go again. :)

Lauren R.

Yelp
Came in for lunch on a Thursday and had an amazing time! We sat at the bar and they have 2 very large TVs behind the bar. The music was on point the entire time. Amanda was our bartender and super helpful when picking from the menu and asking about alternatives. I added shrimp to the Cobb salad and it came out perfectly smoky. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Harold R.

Yelp
Great place to watch games and enjoy a beer for lunch. The southwest bowl was great an healthy. Amanda the bartender helped us and answered all the questions we had about the menu. Mozzarella sticks were very good with the vodka sauce!!

Andrea H.

Yelp
OMG Dillon's has a secret gem of a lobster roll. From the amount of fresh lobster, with the perfect amount of mayo to not hide the fresh taste, and finally the perfect roll. This was beyond filling and we will definitely be back. We sat at the bar so I cannot speak about table service, but bartenders were efficient and friendly.

Kristine Z.

Yelp
Went for St. Patrick's brunch! Lots of decor but the place was quite empty when we first arrived. The food and drinks were really just ok and kind of pricy for what they were- margarita tasted like jalapeños and the potatoes were soft and oily. My friend's breakfast burrito was also oily and fell apart.

Paige F.

Yelp
The food was fine. The music was so loud and so many people talking you couldn't hear anything. We had a big group reservation which they didn't even give us enough chairs for our table. Our server was snippy and rude. It would be a cool place but it's not.

Jason B.

Yelp
The food was okay. Not great. Not terrible. It definitely felt like we were an inconvenience to the waitress. They were out of all of the seasonal beers. That would have been nice to know before you give us a menu with the seasonal beers listed as options. One in our party had had something special from the bar 2 months ago. When he asked for it again, she was adamant that they had never served that before. So the customer doesn't remember what he had??? It's okay if you don't have it now, but don't tell him he doesn't know what he's talking about. Inside was full so we had to sit outside. No problem. There were heaters. The temperature was in the 50s, but we had to ask for heaters to be turned on. And then the one closest to us didn't work. We were also given the wrong specials menu so when someone in our party asked for something on that menu, she had to rethink what she ordered. Then in the end, we were never asked how to divide the check. We were obviously two families each with a young adult child. Three and three made sense. At the end, when we asked to divide it that way, she said we usually like you to tell us in the beginning.... You mean like we'd like the waitress to tell us that a large portion of what's on the menu isn't actually available???? Did she ask us how we wanted the check divided? I'm usually very understanding of wait staff because I know it's not an easy job. But it's just not good business to make me feel like I'm wrong when I really didn't do anything wrong and actually tried to be really nice the whole time. I know the customer is not always right. But tonight... I was.

Lauren R.

Yelp
If you're looking for the perfect patio to get a drink and watch a game at then look no further! The ambiance at Dillon's can't be beat. Nothing like coming here and getting a beer or a cocktail on a nice day. I've had the food before and it's always been great but this time we opted for a side of fries and s'mores skillet which was awesome. The place gets busy so it can sometimes be a little hard to flag down a waiter but that's never bothered me much. Will absolutely be back!

Karne N.

Yelp
Great place to stop for a beer and an informal lunch. And watch the game, I should add. Tried the quinoa burger for something different - very tasty although I prefer the traditional tzatziki. Belgian waffle was a hit. Fries were limp - not good. Had an enjoyable time. Service was great.

Eva A.

Yelp
Food, vibes and service exceeded expectations! Vibes- chose to sit outside, the heaters are a lifesaver when it gets chillier. The patio is cute, you don't even notice you're above a highway. Can't speak for the inside, didn't go in. Service- waiters are very attentive and patient! Food and drinks are brought out quickly. Food- okay YUM!! The steak and cheese dumplings were a risky choice but they were AMAZING! I would come back simply for these. Did not expect them to be fried though. The Cajun chicken bowl was good too, the red pepper mushroom sauce was the star of the show. It wasn't super creamy (ie the rice underneath was plain rice, which is perfect), but the dish could have used a bit more chicken. I've also tried the cowboy burger before and I remember it being fantastic as well. The drinks were alright - not super strong but delicious regardless. The French 955 is light and refreshing, and the spicy watermelon marg wasn't heavy on the watermelon but also a solid choice. Overall I would for sure recommend Dillon's for any occasion, date or catching up with friends!

Andy D.

Yelp
Sat at bat on college football Sat and had a great afternoon. Ordered a Manhattan and Nashville Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was delicious with just enough spice and tang. Bartenders were very attentive. Would absolutely go back.

Maria K.

Yelp
Great food and great atmosphere! Had steak and cheese dumplings and grilled steak sando. Everything including beers were good and staff was very nice. Beautiful day to sit outside as well. Good location to walk around.

Olivia S.

Yelp
exactly as expected, greasy bar food. cauliflower crust pizza was pretty good. cute lights in outdoor patio area.

Pete R.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Food is better than you'd expect from a bar. Service sucks... not only inexcusably slow, but super shitty attitude too.

Kim V.

Yelp
Food was good, had a reservation and they took us in immediately. Definitely loud atmosphere, out on the patio was a little quieter and thankfully where I had made our reservation.

Oscar H.

Yelp
I'll start with my actual genuine review, this place was pleasant! I've been here before for brunch and this time I was just getting a quick meal before rehearsal with my friend. I got the lobster roll and my friend max got the honey bbq wings. The lobster roll was a teensy bit soggy but partially because of the butter I put on there, it was good! The wings were apparently pretty good, the sauce was super tasty, ambience is okay, yada yada, very standard for a bar and grill of this type. Now to my funny story! So I had some fries and I love a good tasty dipping experience so I asked our waiter if I could get some of the honey bbq sauce that was on my friend's wings. The waiter said sure and then came back with a light tan colored sauce. I was slightly confused as... I know what bbq sauce was and that wasn't it and the waiter asked, is that the right sauce? And I was like, it looks a bit light? And so he was like okay yea I'll go double check. (For reference I have an egg allergy so whiter sauces always scare me cause they usually have some sort of egg product like mayo so it wasn't just a preference thing) The waiter comes back and he is like "ok now this should be the honey bbq sauce" and I'm like great! and he sets it down and it's... the same sauce. I had my friend try it and he said it tasted familiar but he wasn't sure what it was. I decided to risk it and take a teensy taste of the sauce to check what it is. Immediately I knew it was honey mustard. At least I knew for sure now lol. So the next time I saw the waiter I told him "hey this is honey mustard" cause like... I didn't know what to say without sounding like a meanie lol so I asked if he could check just one more time, and he was such a sweetheart about it. He comes back one more time and he's like "alright. Here is (leaving spaces as if making a grand entrance) the honey BarBeCue sauce (making emphasis on the words as if to try and convince both of us)... it's literally the same honey mustard Lmfao. Literally the same thing. It is so painfully obvious that this is not barbecue sauce but I obviously don't want to be mean so I try to let it go but since he's a sweetheart he's like "no if it's wrong I wanna try and fix it" and so I had him bring just regular bbq sauce. (Pictured below Lmfao) anyway this experience led to a great chuckle from me so overall pretty pleasant! Thank you for reading if you got this far lol

Anna F.

Yelp
I love this place. Best espresso martini I ever had, and whatever the rumchata patron drink was , so good. I like the vibe in there and the workers were exceptionally nice. Good pricing too for cocktails compared to like anywhere else in Boston

Abigail S.

Yelp
I love Dillon's!!! They have a lot of cool specials added to the menu regularly. They make a great Caesar salad. The patio is amazing, has heaters and is dog friendly. Also love how the back turns into a dance floor on weekend nights sometimes. Great staff :)

John S.

Yelp
Seriously this place is better than the reviews. The service is great with friendly staff. I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich and thought it was fantastic. Not sure why people are eating it lower. I would recommend a stop here for a beer and a bite to eat or to watch a game.

Milani R.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! Beautiful foam on the beer and the pizza was perfectly cheesy. The outdoor area is perfect for a chill dinner with friends. Satisfying choice for anyone undecided on where to go!!

Dorothy Y.

Yelp
Came here around 8pm when the original restaurant I was going to last minute had kitchen issues. I was already tired and hungry (yet not much appetite) and frustrated so had 0 expectations for this place. I got the drive thru chicken sammy. I was looking for something simple that is less bar foody. It turned out way better than expected that I have to give this 5*. The chicken was white meat. I normally avoid breast but this one was juicy and tender. Even by my last bite where it was obviously drier than the beginning, I did not struggle to eat it. The most surprising and yummiest part was how flavorful the breading was. I literally ate the fallen breading crumbs at the end. I don't like things that are fried too dry too hard too chunky which hurts my mouth when eating. This one was not an issue at all. Sauce was slathered over the chicken but at a reasonable amount. You can get some sauce without it being too soggy and there's variation in flavor throughout. Pickles were too sweet for my liking. I ended up taking it out. I would prefer more sour pickles (something closer to McDonald's would suffice). The bread was also very soft and fluffy. I forgot if it was toasted but I honestly don't particularly need it. The bread seemed fresh despite it already being late dinner. I like the fries a lot too. They have some sort of cajun/old bay spice on it but it wasn't too salty or smokey (don't like too smokey). It was also slightly too sweet but tolerable. The fries clearly got a bit soggy by the end of the meal but I'm happy with the crispy level and not dry inside. Other orders in my group included buffalo mac and cheese with chicken and a clam chowder. The buffalo mac and cheese was quite bland. There wasn't enough buffalo sauce so we got extra which ended up being a $0.25 charge. It did come out very hot and comforting. Clam chowder was quite flavorful and full of seafood too. Not necessarily surprising but definitely a lot better than many places. I know it's a bar but the vibe was very chill and friendly. There were people playing cards or celebrating a birthday or just catching up. No one was obnoxiously loud or anything. Overall very surprised by this meal especially the quality of the food considering the type of venue and time of day. I'd be happy to go again when I'm in a better mood and try other items with friends.

Geraldine H.

Yelp
Everyone who works at Dillons is so nice and helpful! The food and drinks are great and the ambiance can't be beat, especially on Red Sox game days!!

Katherine R.

Yelp
A typical bar to pop into before a game at Fenway. The place appears a little dated and had an awkward layout with it being such a long building, but I thought the server was nice, the food was actually pretty good, and they have a patio outside which will be great for summer! I don't think I would elect to come here unless I was in the area for a game at Fenway, but I do prefer this spot over some of the other options in the area. Food - the fried pickles, burger and tuna poke bowl were all great!

Nick L.

Yelp
Awesome place should have five stars good and service was great. We sat outside on the patio had a few drinks and some burgers. We might be back for dinner tonight it was that good.

Sam p.

Yelp
After a bad experience with a bar across the street, I came to Dillon's. The atmosphere was better right off the bat. I found a comfortable seat at the bar immediately. The bartender greeted me and set down a glass of ice water before I even asked. He seemed to enjoy his job - unlike the other place. Within a couple minutes I had a tasty IPA in front of me. He came right back and asked if I would like any food. 20 mins later I had the best steak tips (and a large portion at that)- going down the hatch. I was so happy to find this place after having so/so experiences in the area at 3 other places. I've found my spot and will go straight here next time. It's only a block from the Sheraton and is perfect. They stop cooking at 10. So if you're a left coast person- get there by 9.

Raymond A.

Yelp
Food and service were great! Stopped here for dinner before a Red Sox game. Menu is apparently new. We had the mahi mahi sandwich and the burger, both were really good.

Whitney D.

Yelp
Sports bar that is spacious. Their outdoor seating is great and have tvs outdoor too. Pretty good pub food. Usually come here for brunch.

Erik D.

Yelp
Great food. The lobster roll and seafood nachos where great. Not my atmosphere, but good service and food.

Nicki L.

Yelp
Solid place to grab a bite and some drinks. The patio is super cute and is mostly shaded which was nice on a hot sunny afternoon. Things we loved - summer grain bowl (refreshing!), mini donuts (soft, decadent, sweet) Things that were just okay - Eggs Benedict

Thierry M.

Yelp
Only thing good about this place is location. Visiting from out of town didn't have Modelo at all!! Food was served barely warm. Male bartender spent most of his time on his phone rather than seeing if we needed more drinks? Owner of this bar definitely needs a bar rescue!!!! This bar has so much potential for it's location! Will not recommend this bar to friends visiting Boston!!

Hayley H.

Yelp
Dillon's is a cool spot and I was surprised to see their average rating. We made reservations to sit inside for Saturday brunch. When the weather is more predictable, I'd love to sit on their outside patio as it looks like a great time. I have a feeling Dillon's is a really fun place to be before or after a Red Sox game or other event at Fenway. The building is an old police station and several of their decorations go with that theme. To drink with brunch, I ordered the Bloody Mary. The menu says to ask for it spicy if that's how you like it, so I did. As a self proclaimed Bloody Mary aficionado, it missed the mark for me. The Bloody Mary was very watery with no tomato flavor and unfortunately not spicy. Next time I'd try one of their other brunch cocktails! The food was really good. My boyfriend ordered the wings and ate them all, so they must have been good. I ordered the avocado toast benny and thought it was fantastic. All the components had great flavor and the home fries that came with it were delicious as well.

Cindy C.

Yelp
This place is great! Great atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. We walked in on a Friday night and were able to get a table on the lower level. I had the Division 16 burger and it was delicious. I also had a Naughty Hot Chocolate that was amazing and was exactly what I needed after a long day. I highly recommend this place. Great people, great place to watch a game or just hang out.

Brittany P.

Yelp
standard bar food menu. but very delicious ! we got mozz sticks, buffalo califlower and honey siracha tenders. nothing was overly greasy and didn't sit like a brick in my stomach. the portions were big and the sauce that came with the mozz sticks was delicious af.

M F.

Yelp
Nice place, but the staff is rude! Including the manager on duty. Not coming back here for sure...

Abby A.

Yelp
So honestly not a terrible bar but the bartender is a jerk and because of that I will never attend again. Did I bring a beer from home into the bar? yes. Did I also spend over $30 on 3 (yes just 3) mediocre shrimp tacos? yes. Did I also convince over 12 people to attend their establishment and spend at minimum similar amounts of money while watching a Bruins game? yes. And really the only regret I have is spending money in the bar and convincing others to do so because after all the money was spent, the jerk bartender decided he really saved the establishment by kicking me out because he discovered I brought a beer from home. Boston is expensive and I couldn't afford a drink AND food. I get it but will not attend or ask my friends to ever attend again. As a former service worker I usually completely relate, but getting a high out of kicking a 25 year old out after drinking 1 (just 1) of her beers from home after spending THIRTY DOLLARS on food, honestly mean and I'm just a girl.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Food: Omg... do NOT recommend going for the food. I got the Poke Bowl (firstly, why did I get a Hawaiian dish at an American restaurant?) and it was NOT good at all. Waaaay too much rice, the sashimi or whatever in it didn't taste like sashimi and there was not a lot of flavors/toppings to enhance it. Drinks: The drinks are really pretty - I'm not super into alcoholic beverages but I remember they tasted pretty good... although I'm not the type of person that would buy drinks (would rather spend it on food) so I don't think I'd come back. Atmosphere: I sat inside at night on a weekday at like 8pm at it was pretty busy. The bar was packed. I went during winter so the patio seating wasn't open but it's definitely a cute seating area.

Mary K.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant, and there was a wait. Which is usually not an issue at all. We went up to the bar to order drinks and were curtly told by the very rude bartender that there was an additional bar downstairs, meanwhile, there were plenty of spaces at the bar and he could've served us. Definitely not the vibe we wanted.

Emma A.

Yelp
Good for happy hour after work. Their food is also good. I met my friend here for dinner on a weeknight. It was a little loud, but nothing too crazy. Reasonable prices and a convenient location near transit.

Melissa L.

Yelp
I stopped by Dillon's for a quick drink at 8:15pm on a Sunday. The place was pretty empty, and I asked the host to be sat with my two friends on the patio that had nice ambiance with string lights to enjoy the warm summer evening. She told us we had to sit at the bar inside, since the patio was only for customers ordering food. That seemed quite odd to me on an evening where there are not many patrons but we sat inside and ordered at the bar. My cocktail, Diablo Rosa, didn't have much flavor and seemed watery. It was definitely overpriced for what it was. This is a very average bar, if you are just going to drink it is a decent option.

Dana B.

Yelp
Food's alright, location is ideal, but super slow experience being seated and checking out. Even with a relatively empty bar, be prepared to wait around for no apparent reason.

Morgan R.

Yelp
I've never been so disrespected, they won't serve anyone that wants a drink and is willing to spend money

Mitchell C.

Yelp
Simply amazing. For "bar food" it doesn't get any better. Nice atmosphere, excellent service, reasonable prices. I am officially in love with this place. I was blown away.

Amber P.

Yelp
Not the place to get a margarita.... My bestie and I stopped in here on a Sunday night for some drinks and quickly left after we finished our firsts. The spicy watermelon marg is all spice and no watermelon. The tiki marg is all cherry and ... that's about it! Indoor and patio seating available. We were told you have to order food in order to sit on the patio so we settled for inside!

Megan L.

Yelp
We stopped in here for a drink and as soon as we were seated they told us we had to order food as well. Ok, haven't had that happen before but if that's their rule then that's what it is. We had already had dinner so we asked the waitress what she recommended. She said the s'mores desert was great. We got that and the desert was served in a skillet and it almost tasted like they hadn't cleaned it out all the way. I usually don't waste food but we couldn't finish it. Drinks were fine and service was fine. Maybe we just got the wrong dish but I prefer that my desert doesn't taste like old Mac and cheese...

Karen M.

Yelp
Alabama fans... Bama in Boston's game watching parties at Dillons are an absolute blast. The bar food is good, TVs all on the Alabama game in the back area (with sound), and the staff plays music during the commercials (Dixieland Delight, etc.). I was a little too excited to learn that have Yellow Hammers, and they ended the game with Rammer Jammer and everything. If you can't make it to the stadium, this is the next best thing.

Sam J.

Yelp
One of the worst restaurants I've been to in Boston. The service was horrible and our waiter (blond girl in the outside patio) was incredibly rude and unprofessional. On top of that, the food was also inedible. I received an overcooked, burnt, and cold burger that tasted like charcoal. Please don't waste your money here and go somewhere else unless you want bad food and getting snapped at by the waiters. FYI this is my first yelp review and I'm only leaving it because I've never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant before.
