"If you end up feeling like Patrick Bateman was just a bit misunderstood while in the line for this perma-hyped Cantonese restaurant, don’t be alarmed. Standing on a King’s Cross pavement, clutching a menu, forehead vein throbbing, and making your best ‘pick me’ eyes at the queue's impatient general is all a part of the process. It’s a masochistic rite of London restaurant passage—one that’s rewarded with the best cheung fun this city has to offer." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley
"Unlike some traditional dim sum restaurants in London, this little King’s Cross spot serves their peerless xiaolongbao, heaving char siu cheung fun, and bobbing wonton soup all day and night. This is good news. Not least because in careful crafting and fantastic flavour, Dim Sum & Duck serves London’s best dim sum—all at a good-value price. Get the artful prawn and chive dumplings, a mountainous plate of wok hei-flavoured beef ho fun, and the crispy chilli beef." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak
"You won’t get seated immediately at Dim Sum & Duck. Not unless you’re getting there at 11:59am on a Tuesday. But even then, don’t be surprised if a few people have had the same idea. The Cantonese restaurant in King’s Cross is one of the best around—and lots of people know it. So when you’ve got a hankering for superb xiaolongbao and glistening ho fun and don’t mind waiting around for (most likely) an hour, then you know where to head." - jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager
"Dim Sum & Duck is not only a must-visit restaurant for Cantonese cuisine, but one of the best restaurants in London full stop. Unlike many dim sum restaurants in London, the little King’s Cross spot serves their peerless xiaolongbao, heaving char siu, cheung fun, and bobbing wonton soup day and night. This is good news. Not least because in careful crafting and fantastic flavour, it’s London’s best dim sum." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna
"There’s no point beating around the bush with Dim Sum & Duck: it’s the best all-round Cantonese restaurant in London. The dumplings, from xiaolongbao to cheung fun, are superb. The ho fun is slippery and full of the aroma of wok hei. Yes, the walk-in-only queues are consistent. And no, it isn’t fine dining service. But whether you squeeze into its box-sized dining room or get a spot under the canopy out front, the food very quickly takes permanent residence in your brain. Specifically the part that looks like a merry-go-round and has different delicious foods manically turning 24/7." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley
