Meet the Bar Animals of Chicago | Eater Chicago

"An 1880s Clark and Armitage restaurant briefly hosted an escaped sea lion from the nearby Lincoln Park Zoo, which was captured there after its brief foray into the dining establishment — one of several odd animal intrusions in the city’s culinary past." - Aimee Levitt

Best Italian restaurant in Scottsdale! New York vibes when you walk in, traditional Italian food that gives you cozy comfort food. Service was fantastic and food was phenomenal. We had the eggplant stack, meatball and bocconcini for appetizers. For entrees we had the veal parmigiana, spicy rigatoni, and chicken scarpatiello. Highly recommend!

We showed up at 5PM without a reservation (don’t make that mistake) and were kindly seated at the bar which turned out to be a great thing because Jamal the bartender was phenomenal. He made everyone feel so welcome, enthusiastically described the house specials and expertly prepared drinks. The lasagne was melt in your mouth delicious (and a huge serving!) the PEI mussels were plump and spicy! Be sure to save room for the sweet cannoli!! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience DiMaggio’s - can’t wait to return 🍷

Cozy, authentic Italian gem! Family-owned and full of heart — everyone was so welcoming. Brandon and Taylor were absolutely amazing, and every dish we tried was delicious. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. A must-visit for anyone who loves true Italian comfort food!

The best Italian restaurant in Arizona this far! My sister and I went as soon as they opened, and thought the spot was very intimate, and felt like home. The bartenders, waitresses, cooks, and yours truly THE HOMEMADE MOZZARELLA gentlemen, make you want to come back just to chat (and eat amazing food of course). I can’t say enough great things about this place. The portion sizes are reasonable, and fresh. You have to try the mozzarella with tomato appetizer, lasagna, and my personal favorite Chicken Parmesan. Don’t just take my word for it, try it yourself. You’ll be obsessed too. ☺️

Our experience was absolutely incredible! Everything was ordered was fresh and delicious. The food was made from scratch and it shows! The Caesar salad was probably the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was huge and so delicious. Leave room for dessert. I recommend the tiramisu. Our server went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. It’s a small restaurant so definitely make a reservation. We had a reservation and arrived right on time and didn’t have any wait for a table. I’m excited to come back in the cooler months and try eating outside on the patio. It’s a bit pricey but worth it for the quality.

If you’re looking for an authentic New York Italian dining experience in Scottsdale, DiMaggio’s is the place. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family. The service is consistently incredible and the food is amazing. There’s nothing on the menu I wouldn’t order again. But if I had to choose just one thing, it would be the eggplant stack with the fresh mozzarella. I could honestly eat it every single day. Also, if you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar, do! Jamal is a true mixologist and entertainer (with a great singing voice might I add!) Can’t wait to go back again (and again!)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dimiaggos Scottsdale is a must-visit! Incredible service, authentic atmosphere, and the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The lasagna and chicken parmesan were perfection, and the fresh mozzarella made in-house was a treat to witness. Their drinks are top-tier—flavorful and perfectly balanced. Highly recommend for anyone craving an unforgettable Italian dining experience!
