Dimartino's

Most of the food was underwhelming. The woman taking orders in the front was so loud and rude. The onion rings were ok but SO bland. Also kinda expensive for what they offer. Gumbo so thick and gross. It had tomatoes.

Dimartino's is a great place to get food. Usually order to go and food is always hot. I call and very quickly can go pick it up. They do a great job. I love their lasagna. Their fried eggplant & onion rings appetizers always a must. Their burgers are pretty good and their catfish & shrimp plates. Their salads are very good too. I don't order too often , but I have noticed that every time I order the prices keep going up.

One of the better overall poboys I've eaten. Bread had a great crunch to it. Onion Rings were fantastic...nice breading and seasoned well. Great spot for a quick lunch.

The food was absolutely delicious. This place had a cozy atmosphere with a player piano playing and a beautiful little garden outside.

The fried oysters and french fries were soo delicious! 😍 my favorite part of the meal was the terasumi cake! 😋 The restaurant is beautifully put together and relaxing place to enjoy your meal.

There's absolutely nothing negative that I can say about Dimartino's food. Nothing! Their muffalettas are perfection. A large one can feed four. I had their fried eggplant for the first time and I was surprised at how large the portion was and how tasty! I can't wait for the one on Barataria to open.

Had the muffaletta and it was really good. Very comparable to the "original grocery store" I think the bread is the only difference. Well worth it. The small sandwich is huge! Loved the piano playing while eating.

I love this place. Been coming to DiMartinos for decades whenever I am visiting NOLA. This week I had the roast beef po boy combo (fully Dressed) with potato salad and gumbo. So delightful as roast beef had just the right amount of gravy to be just a bit messy but fully coated the tender beef. Potato salad like my momma used to make and the gumbo was tasty. I'm coming back for my very favorite, the Muffuletta!!!! Most of the wonderful staff have been here for years so you know that says a lot about DiMartino's.

It looked closed from the lot, but inside was nicely decorated restaurant. I decided on a 5" combo to try the gumbo and the salad. The po boy was about 3" long, a few bites worth. But it was very good, thin crispy bread- had sesame seed - and chewy. Roast beef was good with enough gravy thinly sliced meat. Gumbo was also good with plenty of shrimp and crab claw, but felt few more hours simmering would make it better. Potato salad was also satisfactory with good balance of egg yolk and dill taste. All great except for the portions, it was much to be desired.

Didn't try the muffalettas :( however, the other food here is great, and the serving sizes are plenty for the price! Beef roast poor boy combo, comes w/ half a poboy, potato salad, and gumbo. Loved everything! There is so much flavor and the potato salad was a good contrast to the sandwich Eggplant sticks: better than I thought they were going to be. Fried yet almost refreshing? Comes w/ a marinara sauce that complements the eggplant well The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cute and relaxed, they were playing piano versions of ABBA :)

What a great little place. A locals spot for sure but if you're looking for a little hidden gem, this is one. Take the ride and have a dressed roast beef po'boy. Take extra napkins to the table. The service was friendly and happy. A true NO style.

Always on point !! Why they discontinued the shrimp potato salad !! Muffuletta always a favorite! it's in my top 5 in the city! eggplant parmigiana is great also!

I write this with tears in my eyes and a regretfully fast changing pallet, knowing I just had the best poboy and gumbo since moving to New Orleans mid 1995. LET ME TELL YOU, this shit saved my life. I was gonna end it all (unless the West Bank did it first). Im so happy. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and my pants are creamed knowing that this restaurant exists. Honestly, if you only have one meal left in New Orleans, and this restaurant isn't it, you're 100% an Atlanta Falcons fan. Do yourself a favor, and PLEASE check this place out. I have been hearing for years that Dimartino's has the best muffuletta and I finally had my chance to see if that is true a few months ago. There are a couple of locations and I doubt the menu is different. This location is in a strip mall. There is plenty of parking. When you enter the restaurant, there is a big menu to greet you as well as some t shirts up and schwag up for purchase. I love how they have specialty muffulettas here! I need to come back and try them all. I ordered the regular large muffuletta and it was as expected. Perfect! The olive salad to meat ratio is pretty much 60/40, with more meat. The cheeses they use, assuming it is provolone, are very melty in your mouth and the meats are fresh and delicious. I prefer my hot over cold and that is how they are sold here. The only thing I would change is that the olives need to be sliced more, instead of being whole. Other than that, it really is perfection. The bathrooms here are super clean as well. And it is spacious enough for large groups. If you need to split checks, it is counter service type pay so that means you go to the counter, order, pay and sit down. The staff are great too, everyone had a smile and was friendly. The wall art and history of the restaurant was enjoyable to view. Again, I plan to be back to try those other specialist muffulettas soon!

First time at the new location and it was great. There were 6 of us and the orders were taken quickly, the food came out quickly, and the service was on point. We had a fried shrimp platter, 2 shrimp poboys, a roast beef poboy, a hot sausage poboy, lasagna and an order of onion rings. All were spectacular! I usually go to the one in Terrytown but would definitely go to this one again.

Delicious food. We had a roast beef po boy and a muffuletta. They were amazing. Worth the drive out of the city.

Such a great lunch, going back for dinner. We had the 5" sandwich and gumbo combo. Amazing food and ever better service.

I so wish I had gotten a pic of the amazing Muffulettas we got from Dimartino's! But, we were starving and trying to gobble up dinner in time for a Zoom meeting. But, man! I need to go back already! I have always been a fan of a good muffuletta and before Ida, Central Grocery was my go-to NOLA stop for the best one. It has been closed down until further notice so, until then, Dimartino's is it for me. Hubby had a Roast beef PO-Boy fully dressed with debris and everything. It was an amazing sloppy mess! Loved it too! Side note, their restroom is labeled PRIVATE and their PRIVATE office room has no label. I bet I'm not the only person to have walked in on some unsuspecting manager chillin in the office. If this happened to you too, it wasn't your fault lol

The food is absolutely amazing I think their shrimp platter is my favorite. The staff is extremely nice and are extremely accommodating.

The manager of this restaurant is amazing! When a delivery service order forgot about entire bag of food and would not go back for it, he stepped up and had it delivered to my client meeting. It's rare to find those who will take ownership of someone else's problem but he did just that, even remaking the food so it would be hot. I just had to say everything was wonderful and the service was extraordinary!

Yes we did best Muffulettas in the city!! We're from Georgia and I only wish we had a restaurant like this Amazing

It's so on point! The bread, the way they fry the seafood, the perfect seasoning. Hands down the best poboys in the entire city. The only place I'll even eat a roast beef poboy, and the shrimp poboy is one of my favorite things ever. Even the potato salad is amazing

Dimartino's is one of my favorite local spots in the Westbank! I always get an order of their small muffelata and it would basically be two meals in one ($13)! It's a really generous size and it is jammed packed with cold cuts, cheese, and a wonderful, subtle olive spread! Seriously, please go try this place. You will not regret it!

The roast beef po boy on giant muffaletta roll is freakin dynamite. It's mostly a carry out spot so not much else to say. The paper bag was nice and the plastic fork was cool.

So good. Clean. Dine in service was excellent. We ordered Paso and fried butterfly shrimp with coleslaw. Yummy.

Love this place, but today was disappointing. Couldn't locate the ham on my small muffaletta. Brought it back and lady from back had to deconstruct it to find the ham. Would have preferred to pay more for adequate meat on the sandwich. Realize with inflation and costs folks are stretched, but all I could taste was the cheese and olive salad. Sad, because I was craving that great taste.

Another sad lunch at DiMartino's. This is the 3rd time, in less than two months where I placed a simple order in mid-afternoon (few orders) that was VERY disappointing. Today's bill of fare was a 'Chicken Club" sandwich. It was described by the 'Chef' as 6" po-boy sandwich consisted of Grilled Chicken, Bacon, Lettuce and tomato with my choice of bread. I ordered the sandwich on French Bread, paid over $14 for the lunch, ADDED a 20% tip for the 'Quality' of 'Service' and sat down in the dining room with the other TWO GUESTS that were brought their lunch by a server as I gathered my condiments and my order was made. After about 10 minutes my order was sitting on the front counter which after watching other patrons be served their meals all 'Servers' were not to be found. I retrieved my meal and again sat down to eat only to find there was NO BACON on my sandwich. After paying almost $10 for the 'Chicken Club', $3 for a Large Tea I took these pics of this flat, dried out, over cooked piece of chicken ate my meal and left. I have seen how the kitchen staff have treated their customers who have received poor service and knew that it would take longer to have my complaint satisfied than it would to just finish my French fries (the ONLY THING GOOD about this lunch) and go home. Other examples of such NON-Stellar Service was 3 weeks past when I placed two separate orders, one to eat in the dining room and one to 'Take-Out' ...after quietly waiting 15 minutes I found a Brown paper bag sitting on the main counter with BOTH orders wrapped for 'Take-Out' with both the 'To-Go' order receipt AND the 'Dine-In' order receipt in the bag. HOW BRAIN DEAD CAN YOU BE? Two weeks before that I ordered the Steak Burger with French Fries, cooked 'Medium' To-Go and trusting the order was accurate I brought it home to find the meat almost raw. THIS USED TO BE A GOOD RESTAURANT ...A Happy place to go for lunch whether during a long day of work, or a TREAT after a trip to the Doctor/Hospital. I have gone to D's as long as I can remember (circa 1979) and I have always thought of it as a QUALITY restaurant, a Hallmark of the West Bank. The Carol Sue restaurant is the corporate HQ, what has happened to you DiMartino's?

Really expensive !! We didn't realize it would be soo price for two sandwich's, two drinks and a side of Fries but it was over $40

My boyfriend had the roast beef poboy. It was very large and good. I wish I would have just ate the other half of that big thing instead of ordering the special. The lunch special was eggplant Parmesan. It had the makings of a great fish but was lacking salt and cheese. There was no salt shaker on the table so I ate a little bit and decided I would take it home to jazz it up myself as left overs. I hate when Olive Garden outdoes a local restaurant but sadly I would have preferred theirs over what I had for lunch today.

In my opinion DiMartinos on Carol Sue Ave has of the best Muffuletas I've ever tried. Mr. DiMartinos is always there to make sure everything goes right as his restaurant. There's always friendly service, they will ask you to "come right over" when you place an order on the phone. Besides the Muffulettas the shrimp platter is very tasty and comes with generous portions of butterflied shrimp, try the potato salad and gumbo soup as side dishes, you will not regret it. DiMartinos on Carol Sue has the best Muffulettas on New Orleans Westbank.

Although I am still a huge fan of the muffulettas here, I just had to update after getting the shrimp platter this past Friday. It's kind of a cosmic joke here in New Orleans: during Lent, we Catholics aren't allowed to eat meat, so we have to "settle" for delicious fried seafood. We came here for that very reason. My boyfriend had told me how great the fish and shrimp platters are, so I was down to see what it was all about. I got the shrimp platter (butterfly) with two sides- french fries and red beans. The platter was about $14 and I thought that price was decent- and then the food came out. WOW. The butterfly shrimp are HUGE and plentiful! They were perfectly fried and very tasty. I loved the fries- they had the perfect amount of "crisp" to them and the red beans were out of this world good. I only had to add a little bit of hot sauce to give it that "kick" that i like. The shrimp platter was well worth the price (especially since you get your choice of two sides), and I would get it again.

They have great daily specials along with some good po boys, burgers, muffulettas, and platters. They give good size portions and usually have your food prepared very fast. I really like their meatball muffuletta and they make most of their food in-house which really improves the quality. It has an ambiance more like a fast food place and while they do maintain some quality New Orleans style food the service can lack at times. If you want some quick and tasty local food this is great spot to eat.

We have been patronizing the Terrytown Di Martino's for over 16 years!! There is an Asian American Waitress that has been asking me for my I.D., because I got a Bud Light. REALLY??? ... I am 70 years old, have been patronizing this establishment ... EVERY 10 days to 2 weeks!!! I am ... HIGHLY INSULTED ... by the way this lady treats us!!! One day (4 weeks ago) there were 2 Gentlemen (1 white & another -either African/Spanish) that purchased beers and this Woman ... DID NOT ASK for their I.D.'s, in less than an hour!!! ... Either She is DISCRIMINATING against OLD People or, she is HARRASSING us!! ... I DO NOT want this Lady to lose her job, Mr. Peter!! I want her to ... RESPECT us when we are there! Thank You, W. One of my coworkers is always talking about how good DiMartino's is, and I know for a fact that he eats there at least once a week, and has done so for the last 4 years we have worked together. So one recent Saturday afternoon, we found ourselves driving aimlessly, looking for a new food spot to try. Suddenly, it hit me to go to Dimartino's, and I was on the Crescent City Connection in record time. Although very unassuming from the outside, this place is actually pretty nice on the inside. We were immediately greeted when we walked in the door and we explained to our greeter that it was our first time here and we needed a few minutes to peruse the menu. Being our 1st time here and wanting to try as much variety as we possibly could, we each opted to get the 5" sandwich special, which comes with a cup of gumbo and potato salad. I got the muffuletta and my wife got the roast beef. That way, we each got to try a piece of each. The roast beef was good, as it was tender and there was ample gravy to moisten things up; but without becoming overly soggy. However, with the exception of a muffuletta, I do not like sesame seeds on my poor boy bread. This wasn't a total deal breaker, but I would have preferred the non-seeded variety. By default, this is the best muffuletta I've ever had on the Westbank, as I've never had one anywhere else. But I'll take John L.H. & Marielle S's word on this, as they have sampled much more than me. The muffuletta was solid and the bread (sesame seeds are A-Ok here) was toasted to perfection. The olive salad was delish and served in just the right proportion. However, I would have liked to have seen a little more meat on my sandwich. All in all, it was still pretty darn good. The potato salad was a pleasant surprise, as I normally don't like many restaurant offerings. However, it wasn't overloaded with mayo, which is a definite deal breaker for me. In fact, it was almost perfect, and it had a little bit of a cayenne kick that I definitely appreciated. The okra & shrimp gumbo was ok, but it was tomato based and I prefer a roux base made from oil and flour. Still and all, I scarfed it all down. As I stated earlier in my review, DiMartino's is pretty nice on the inside and the dining room is outfitted in a nice décor. What really struck my fancy is how clean this place was. And the restrooms were pretty lavish for a small mom and pop type of place, as they were covered in marble and were impeccably clean. ( I know Yelper Michelle B. would appreciate this) You won't go wrong by coming here to give this place a try. I came, I saw I ate and I'd go back. And that's all I have to say about that.

Again... I ordered a shrimp poboy. 9" poboy should be filled with more than 8 shrimp for $15.00. Cold beans aren't appealing to a child either. Thanks. Lesson learned.

Had a great lunch today, all of our food was fresh, hot, and delicious! My husband had the grilled chicken club, I had the steak burger, and my little one had the chicken nuggets. Staff was very friendly!

We always enjoy the roast beef po boy, muffaletta, and red beans! The Carol Sue location is out of the way but it's the best one!

So first off i placed my order through phone , when i was placing my order i had a question about what comes in the gumbo and the lady otp literally told me she didn't know .. ma'am your never supposed to tell someone you don't know what comes in something you go ask and find out . So i placed my order i wanted a 5'poboy combo but they didn't let me sub the regular potato salad for the shrimp , so i told the lady i just wanted a 5' poboy with a shrimp potato salad. When i get to the restaurant they were charging me $18 so i asked why and we went in circles for about 5 minutes about my order i told her what i wanted at least 3 times & she ended up trying to charge me more bc she was confused on what I wanted, I ended up leaving bc I didn't want what she was trying to charge me for , all in all im leaving this review to really say they should really work on listening for understanding skills , from the beginning the lady could have told me they didn't serve what i wanted how i wanted it instead of just trying to give me anything

The food here is good, albeit a little pricey. I like getting the spaghetti and meatballs, and my fiancé likes the gumbo with potato salad on the side. I don't care for the side of buttered bread, so I always give him mine. (The butter is too liquid-y.) I give it four stars instead of five because it could really use a deep cleaning. It's not like the place is disgusting, but I have noticed the need for a clean every time I've visited.

Muffaletta is huge, kind of pricey in my opinion but it's a novelty sandwich so it's the going rate for the sandwich. The ambiance is nice, casual and clean.

Best Muffuletta on the West Bank. Their burgers and roast beef po-boys are very good as well. You can eat in or take it to go. There are a few other West Bank locations as well if this one isn't close to your hood.

Great hole in the wall place. I live a few blocks away and the food always come out hot with no wait. A plus is that you can order straight from the Yelp app and pickup times are pretty constant. One of my go to items are the Muffulettas and the Chicken Parmesan Platters. The restaurant is pleasant inside and quiet.

Best potato salad, hands down. I love the mustard style with green onions, it's the way my mother made it! I can't get enough of this stuff!! I've had several poboys from here and my favorite is the Ham and cheese and the meatball. I don't care for the roast beef, something about it just tastes bland.

The muffeletta and roast beef were absolutely delicious. No,grizzle, lean roast beef. Olive,salad to die for. The gumbo was awdul. Frozen tasteless shrimp, with instant rice and a tablespoon of canned gravy.

I mean, it's fine. I know a lot of people love this place and I can understand why, but I guess it's just not my taste. I don't care for the sesame seed bread the poboys come on. I prefer regular French bread. Their gumbo is very heavy on the okra which I didn't care for and the prices are overall very high. The muffuletta is actually pretty good and will last you a couple meals on its own. Basically, the food is not bad at all, it's just not my cup of tea and overpriced in my opinion. This isn't my go-to restaurant for anything, but I didn't feel that it deserved a bad review just because I prefer things differently. Like I said, a lot of people love the way they cook.

Great neighborhood place if you are craving some homely food. I love their tasty version of gumbo that has a little bit of tomatoes in it. I have tried their lasagna and fried chicken sandwich, both of which was really good! The bread was fresh and crunchy, while the lightly breaded chicken was juicy and full of flavor. Can't wait to try the other menu items.

I love this place. Absolutely love it. I grew up eating the roast beef sandwiches and muffulettas. I've even tried some of their other dishes and sandwiches. Used to be my absolute favorite roast beef sandwich. Recently, it just seems like the dishes aren't as flavored as they used to be. I thought it might have been one specific location, but it's all of them. They're doing something different and it's making things bland.

This is a really good place if you are in the mood for heavy comfort food - which we were! Food was DELICIOUS!!!! I got the Egg Plant Parmesan and tried their Potato Salad......EXCELLENT! My husband got the Gumbo plate and others in our party enjoyed Fried Catfish and the Chicken Parmesan - all dishes were shared and thoroughly enjoyed!

First, I really appreciate that they understand the need to poke holes in the container when packing fried food to go. Thank you to whoever did that. I tried DiMartino's for the first time via delivery service, and the food was good! I got the jumbo shrimp platter and although the price is a bit steep, I don't mind because I got what I paid for. The shrimp were large, plentiful and cooked perfectly. They had a nice amount of seasoning as well. The fries were the perfect amount of crispy. Potato salad was good. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the red beans; I couldn't put my finger on what they were missing. The tiramisu was also tasty. Overall I really enjoyed the food and will be back to try more of the menu.

The wait staff were very friendly. The muffuletta was ok but I've had better. I'd return if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way just to eat there.
