The Best All-You-Can-Eat Restaurants in Houston | Eater Houston

"With over 60 different dishes, including mezze, kebabs, and desserts, this buffet is a one-stop shop for all things Mediterranean. Grab some house-made pita and choose from its various dips, like cucumber mint yogurt or avocado hummus, for the dunking, and then indulge in its dishes like the Dimassi eggplant, made with pomegranate molasses, and the house-specialty lamb shank. Dessert promises its namoura — a semolina, coconut, and yogurt-based Levantine classic."

First time here and I will return when in the area. Excellent Mediterranean food. Even from a buffet the food was fresh, hot or cold depending on what you were choosing. A nice variety of foods to choose from.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the delivery order I placed on Friday night. Unfortunately, the order was incomplete, and the meat was not fresh. The chicken and kafta appeared to be of poor quality, as evident in the attached photos. We were unable to consume the meal and attempted to contact the store multiple times. Unfortunately, our calls were met with poor customer service, and no resolution was provided. This experience was highly disappointing.

Good amount of food, got the combo pho. I was a bit putt off by not having much broth considering that is the best part. I tried it before I added my tripe (did not take any sort of large sip) and you can see the container isn't very full. Broth is exactly on par for what it should taste like, it was very good. Though to my surprise after eating my meal the broth was just enough to consume everything, but there wasn't extra to have to drink if you're a broth person so just be aware. Overall though all the components were fresh, plenty of them, and everything great for the price point. I would return.

Fresh and delicious - this local chain is always on the top of its' game. I prefer the location near Reliant Stadium and appreciate that they always have my faves and room for new dishes.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a dimassis Mediterranean buffet restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. The buffet offered a wide variety of fresh and flavorful dishes. Every item was freshly made and served warm, which made a noticeable difference in taste and quality. The selection included everything from perfectly seasoned meats to fresh salads and delicious dips. The balance of flavors in each dish reflected delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The sweet treats were not only beautifully presented but also tasted amazing. Nice drinks options. They also have coffee and black/green tea options for the guest. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys fresh, high-quality Mediterranean food in a welcoming atmosphere. Dont forget to ask for lamb shank. They dont serv it with all the other options however they serv upon request.

Google
One of the best buffets in town! Also, the food choices are healthful and delicious. There are several varieties of salad, lentil soup and chicken/lamb options. I meet my friend there once a month and we hang for like two hours. The staff is great and I like that they have coffee for after the meal. This is truly one of the best deals in town..

They let DOGS eat in here. This lady was hand feeding her dog from her plate with a metal fork. It was so disgusting and I asked the front desk lady about it. She said it's a service dog and it was allowed even if it was being fed like that. She called the owner/supervisor who verified. I asked for my money back, and they said no. Then they saw me take pictures of it (attached) and asked me to leave and never go back because I said I'd post it. This is not the first time I've seen a dog here. The last time I was here, there was a very large full-grown Goldendoodle carried in here in a gigantic purse. I don't understand how this is acceptable. I love dogs but this is getting ridiculous and more to the point, very hazardous. Peace out Dimassi's, ✌️

Yelp
It has been a while since I have been at Dimassi's. However, it did not disappoint. We went during lunch hour but there wasn't much of a rush or limited options. Since I had a limited amount of time, I filled my plate and didn't have a chance to go back for seconds. I enjoyed the rose water, which was new to me. It was very refreshing. Before I left, I got two baklavas for the road.

Yelp
I really love Dimassi's! I order it at least once a week from door dash or Uber eats. In addition to a great buffet, they have plates you can order for home. I recommend the chicken kabab plate and with one of their amazing hummus selections. The service is great when you go in person and the ambiance is casual. You get a Large amount of food for your money and one plate can easily be two meals for us!

Kasem W.

Yelp
Good ambiance, very good service, large buffet selection. The food is a but on salty side. They need to take it easy with salt, probably reduce by 1/3rd. Otherwise, it's a great place for family.

Yelp
Compared to the many Dimassi's locations around town, this is hardly the largest or the most impressive one. Overall, it's probably a 4 star for most, but I've been here so often and have consistently enjoyed myself each time that I've got to give them all 5 stars. Here are my immediate thoughts: :: This might be the smallest buffet I've seen in the Dimassi's umbrella. They don't have pizzas, soft serve ice cream, additional drink options beyond rose tea and sweet tea, or that much of salad selection but everything else is really solid. :: No other Dimassi's has a better view than this one. Since it's such a central location and directly facing NRG stadium and all of its glory. During weekday it's really nice to just sit around, eat a massive plate of Mediterranean goodness and enjoy the natural lighting. :: The baked chicken is the best I've had throughout all the Dimassi's. It's not not a game changer, but it is easily one of the best things they serve. It's usually perfectly crispy and fall-off-the-bones juicy. Their other meats are fine, but this one usually stands out. :: Come on Wednesdays and enjoy salmon as their featured fish for dinner. Fridays are always lamb shanks. For the latter, they'll pile it on over a big bed of rice, which makes for an ideal food pic. :: It might not look that large from the outside, but this is a corner unit. The tables are endless and all group sizes are totally doable here. I once had a group of nearly 40 people take over the back and there was still a ton of seating. This is perfect for a casual lunch date, a solo feast, or a group meal session. :: The service is minimal but the main lady that works in the front has the biggest smile and the best service. She keeps the buffet line clean, answers phones quickly, and is very good about getting take-ou orders ready for people coming to pick up. She is the sweetest person working here and makes everyone feel welcomed.

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend and it was a great experience! I don't crave Mediterranean food too often, but when I do, I plan to come back here. The inside is very clean, including the tables. We were greeted upon entry and told to help ourselves in the buffet line. The service was very nice and pleasant. My favorite was the chicken (see picture), it was so tender, juicy, and tasty---WOW. Overall, the food was good, nothing to complain about. We will be back soon! :)

Yelp
Great Mediterranean delicacies! The majority of the food items are great for the health conscious. The staff is very nice, & the restaurant is kept very clean. From salads to soups, the food is delicious! In fact, though their desserts look wonderful, I have to admit that we've eaten so much of their regular delicacies that we've never had room for dessert. Whether you enjoy their salads, rice, potatoes, falafel, or meats/fish, you'll definitely find many delectable choices at Dimassi's.

Yelp
Eat here weekly while at MD Anderson. Lots of fresh vegetables and salad options as well as gyros, a variety of chicken and meats of many kinds. Good pita bread and the iced tea is tasty too. My hubbie likes the desserts...I'm off sugar.

Yelp
My husband and I have wanted to come here for a few months. Though they have increased the price, it is still worth a visit!! Lots of Mediterranean selections! I especially love their Mansaf (lamb yogurt rice) and falafel. Also super Vegetarian friendly! Definitely want to come back!

Yelp
This is place is fun and the lamb is sooo delicious, definitely soak it up in the gravy it's sitting in. Their desserts are all worth trying, even once. Most of them do contain nuts. I love their rose tea. And If you're a coffee connoisseur, for sure have some here! The aroma alone is Service is amazing and their restaurant is beautifully designed.

Yelp
$25 for weekend buffet. really really disappointed today. asked the cashier guy if i could have some garlic sauce because one on line tastes like they forgot the garlic. he tells me they make it like that now. i dip everything in that sauce. if i would have known i would have not eaten here. stuff that should be hot is cold and one of the salads with the parsley has some tomatoes going bad. smdh.

Yelp
Wonderful place. Can't believe I've just gone for the first time !! Clean and spacious. The food was all perfect. Keeping meats and fish (especially) tender on a buffet is no easy feat, but this was some of the best cooked and seasoned I've ever had. Also, the olive oil I wanted to drink from a cup. Highly recommend the rose water drink and chicken curry soup. Cannot wait to return!! (Also, have never in my life been a fan of baklava until this day. Changed me:,)

Yelp
We love Mediterranean cuisine, and usually frequent Fadi's as it is closer to home, not AYCE but you order and pay for what you want like a cafeteria. We were shopping near NRG and decided to eat at Dimassi's, which we had not done in a few years. I am happy to report that they are still wonderful and an absolute bargain for an AYCE buffet. The display of food is clean and inviting. The many delicious and healthy options, such as Tabbouleh, Eggplant, Cauliflower, Hummus, Chicken Kabobs, Beef Kofte, Gyros, Falafel and Meatballs were fresh and delicious. Desserts included Bakhlava, Rice Pudding and fresh fruit. What a sumptuous buffet!

Magali R.

Yelp
Always a great experience to eat here. Service Great. Food is superb and fresh Sweets are the best

Yelp
They are misusing holidays and overcharging customers, unlike others who offer discounts during holiday periods. Additionally, we discovered a piece of plastic in their soup. When we questioned their cashier about it, she responded with an attitude, suggesting that such incidents were normal. I believe the Better Business Bureau should investigate their pricing policies, as they seem to change prices without clear justification or adherence to established policies.

Meron A.

Yelp
The food tastes awful lately the fruit and the desert are not fresh at all and the prices highway rubbery

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night a little skeptical and with very low expectations because from prior experience, most buffets I've gone to have been disappointing with either limited options or low quality food and I was very surprised when I came to Dimassis. We were craving Mediterranean food so decided to give this place a try. It's $20 for all you can eat on a weekend which is really not bad at all considering how an entree at a regular Mediterranean restaurant is already around that price if not more. There are so many food options at Dimassis for both for vegetarians and non vegetarians and the meat is halal. I have no idea how they prepare their fried chicken but it was SO crispy and well seasoned. I also liked the grape leaves, falafel and their seasoned potatoes. The baklava and rice pudding were my favorite desserts. My mouth is watering writing this review and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Even better than it was three years ago. We hadn't been in a while and we decided to go today. The food is absolutely perfect. The ambience is fantastic. Everything is five stars. The service was also very efficient and everything was hot and fresh.

Mohammed N.

Yelp
Diving into Damassi Buffet is a culinary adventure worth taking. With an array of dishes spanning from traditional favorites to innovative creations, this buffet offers something for every palate. From the freshness of their salads to the richness of their main courses and the decadence of their desserts, each bite is a delight. The ambiance is inviting, the service attentive, making Damassi Buffet a must-visit for anyone seeking a diverse and satisfying dining experience.

Yelp
this is the first mediterranean halal buffet restaurant i've been to and certainly not my last. ever since i learned this was a chain, i'm going to all of them whenever i can. it's full of quality authentic ingredients and the service is awesome. the pricing is cheap about $15 all you can eat! there is literally no fillers or anything bad with the food, i couldn't believe the quality and quantity for those price range there were a whole assortments of lamb.beef kebabs, roast/fried chicken, hummus eggplants and everything you can imagine. you can always go back and get more. people come around to clean up plates. there is also a soda fountain and tea halal food. mediterranean flavors. texas vibes!

Yelp
Still amazingly good even after 10 years. I'm so happy to see this place is still servicing the 610 and medical center. This was my go to spot for good food, good price, and AYCE when I lived nearby and went to school. I'm pretty sure all the college students got this place up. Plenty of collegiate apparel amongst the crowd with a mix of scrubs and hard working individuals in the area. During game days, this place is popping too. I recently stopped by after a visit to the zoo and wanted something hearty, healthy, yet refreshing. The place is spacious with a long row of fresh salads, sauces, and meats. Next is the fresh bread that is just carb heaven. Drinks at the very end with sweet tea, coffee, lemonade, and soda fountain. A mini bar of fruits and sweet treats. Their baklava is really the best. Though it may be small bites, they really do pack a bunch of flavors. I really love their salads which I top off with extra olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My favorite plate will consist of their rice and vermicelli and gyro. Plenty of their cucumber yogurt sauce that I dip with everything. Their variety of hummus [original, spicy, and avacado] is perfect with their pita bread. I also bring my toddler boys who too enjoy it. My kids preference consists of rice/vermicelli with fried chicken and steamed fish. Staff were nice. They were attentive to clear off used plates off our table. You pay after you finish eating at the front counter at the entrance to. They also allow you to take to go which is weighed to determine the price. Still a good deal. If you're in the area and can't decide where to go ... this is the place. Lots of variety, healthy, and the price can't be beat.

Yelp
Getting expensive for a buffet but very tasty selection of dishes. Love the humus and salads they offer.

Bill K.

Yelp
We were staying in Houston in the medical district and went searching out Sunday lunch and came across Dimassi's 10 minutes after they opened. The buffet had a large selection of choices and all were displayed beautifully. My wife is on a Keto diet and was able to find many wonderful choices. We stopped again during the week for lunch! Great food, service and price.

Muniba S Y.

Yelp
the food was amazing. the best Mediterranean in town. do go and try, they have a huge variety to choose from

Bibi M.

Yelp
Great fresh food in a hurry. Perfect spot for a healthy fast lunch. Everytime I have been , the food never disappoints.

Jean W.

Yelp
This place is a must if you are in Houston. It is a buffet and you pay after your meal, drink is included in price. The food is great. My favorite is grilled chicken, lamb, avocado hummus, pita bread hot from the oven and the roasted cauliflower. If you go after 4pm you can request a lamb shank. It is not on the buffet, you will need to ask for it. Only one per customer allowed. This is definitely a place to be on your dining list in Houston.

Uz N.

Yelp
I LOVE IT Whst a great place I will recommend ti all please go have fun Very nice customer services

Yelp
It's my 1st time visiting Dimassi. The restaurant is spacious and food options has a lot of variety. But food was just Ok. The fish and the desserts are strongly not recommended. Desserts are horrible and definitely not fresh. They were stale and taste like they've been in the box for a long time before they were served. The fish was too smelly. And yes I know, I shouldn't eat fish at the Mediterranean restaurant lol, but i just wanted to try a small piece. The rest of the food was ok. Staffs were very friendly and courteous. Pricing is reasonable for buffet. Drinks are included too.
google avatar

Yelp
I hadn't been here in ages. Food was fresh and stocked well. Tons of people on a Saturday night. We ate for hours so we could try nearly everything.

D M.

Yelp
I never go to buffets but Dimassis is an exception. Delicious and fresh food. Also very clean! Thanks for the exceptional service

Yelp
I was impressed, no lamb shank during the lunch hour. Food was great no complaints. Food was fresh and great.

Yelp
Dimassis is a mediterranean buffet that serves a variety of Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes including salads, meat, dessert, bread and drinks. They have multiple locations all around Texas and for $12.99 for lunch you can eat as much greek salad, tabbouleh, hummus, pita chips, potatoes, baklava, lamb, chicken as you want. not only is the variety good but the flavor and taste is also good, so quality is not sacrificed for quantity. drinks are also included
google avatar

Ramon B.

Yelp
I good Mediterranean buffet near NRG stadium. I've come here many times over the years and they have yet to disappoint. Multiple flavors of hummus to choose from, lots of grilled meats and vegetables. Try the rose water, a little too sweet but add water or wait for the ice to melt.
google avatar

Yasser H.

Yelp
Dimassis Can be a hit or a miss. depending upon when you visit and which location you visit. I have had my share of mediocre food and other instances had some great food. This visit turned out to be a good one as the food was good in taste and fresh at the same time. The concept is simple, as you walk in the restaurant just go straight to the buffet table, and unleash the beast. They have an extensive collection of items and some of the notable ones are: Hummus (Three different kinds avocado, plain, spicy), baba ghanouj, Taboulli, cucumber salad, Seasoned potatoes, different varieties of rice, the beef kebabs, Gyro meat, mustard yellow chicken, and plenty of others. For dinner, each customer can also order one leg of lamb which is an added treat. They have a small dessert section and at the end of the buffet is where they have their drinks and coffee and tea. I recently noticed they also had added a soft serve ice cream section. Dimassis Also have a reward program where after 11 stickers or stamps, the 12th one is free.

Yelp
I was debating whether to give 3 or 4 stars due to the fact that my experience is probably due to the time of day that I visited this restaurant. This is my first time visiting this location. I have only been to Dimassi one other time, and that was at the location not far from the Galleria. That was an excellent experience! That is why I was looking forward to going to Dimassi a second time; but this time to the location closer to me. All I can say is, do not go around 1:30 p.m. on a weekday. Apparently, most people who come here for lunch have finished and left by this time, and the establishment does not really replenish the steam table with food. When I got to the restaurant, there were still quite a few people here, that is why I was surprised that all food items were not being replenished; but I guess these people had already eaten, and just still hanging around. I will probably go back on a Saturday...that is when I had a better experience at the other location. None of the hot items on the buffet that I got were hot...not even the pita bread was warm. I went up to the buffet twice, and the pita bread, fried chicken, roasted potatoes were not replenished. I am not giving up on this location, but I will definitely time better when I go back; or better yet, I might just return to the Galleria location.

Yeye Y.

Yelp
Good service. Good food. Super clean ambiance excellent highly recommend thanks you definitely will back again
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
The place is beyond disgusting. Food is terrible: Gyro tastes like it's been frozen 40 times, rice is mushy trash, the "pasta" is literally watered down tomato soup with mush noodle... literally disgusting.

Allen W.

Yelp
Ya gotta know I have never tried Mediterranean food. This was fantastic. Yes , I didn't care for everything but it is all good. I especially liked the Fried Chicken. There are other items equally as good , but I'm partial to chicken. It's a Buffet so you can pick and choose. Go give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Bijou N.

Yelp
Yay! Such good food. PARKING: huge lot available SERVICE: it's a self-serve place, unlimited buffet! Lamb shanks available on the weekend! FOOD: So many options! I really like the vegetarian and vegan options here such as the tabouli and the beet salad. The grape leaves stuffed with rice and tart and sour, and so good. My fiancee loves all the meat options which include gyros, lamb shanks, kabobs, chicken, etc. Everything is great.
google avatar

Mailoha A.

Yelp
The food looked so good but most of it was really bland. The pita didn't taste fresh which I was craving! For $17 a person for lunch we were expecting a lot more.

Charles C.

Yelp
My first impression walking in was, "This food looks amazing!". Everything looked fresh, and what I did have was amazing! If you like lamb, I recommend showing up around 4:00 pm or later when the lamb shank is put out! This place is on my favorites list!

David P.

Yelp
Good food for my family. We eat hear a lot. All you can eat. Thank You for the service.

Kelli G.

Yelp
Great service! Amazing food, my husband and I were very happy!

Eli N.

Yelp
Service was great, very friendly. Fresh variety of food & clean!

misty r.

Yelp
It was clean but the food was not Great like the reviews are saying. Lacking flavor and not worth the $20 per person. If you want Mediterranean food that is good go to BiBi's in deer park off center st. It isn't a buffet but you will Be satisfied when you leave. Their falafel is the best around.
google avatar

Britney G.

Yelp
I'm not a huge fan. The gluten free options are not clearly denoted on the signs and the servers didn't speak English to inform you if any of the dishes were gluten free either. Many of the dishes I tried were not the best. Some of the chicken dishes were dry and the hummus was not the best. The place is also not very clean either. Meh. I would prefer Fadis for future adventures. Follow me on my way to Foodietown! http://britneygfoodie.yelp.com
google avatar

Shaili B.

Yelp
Dimassi's was really good! I went there for a dinner with a few people and enjoyed the variety of food and multiple vegetarian options. I don't think Dimass's is comparable to Aladdins or Fadis, but Dimass's is still really good Mediterranean food. I don't know if the food changes from time to time, but when we were there their buffet included tabouli, cheesy bread, and baklava. This particular location has a huge sitting area and is in a plaza so there is a lot of parking spots. I would recommend Dimassi!

Sharmin A.

Yelp
I went there seeing many good reviews but I didn't like the tastes of the foods. Most of the foods were salty. Although the buffet price was reasonable and there were bunch of items. Anyway I really liked the salad items! Gyro was average. The meat ball and falafel was best! But all other items were not up-to the mark.

Jose R.

Yelp
Excellent buffet. The service is very nice and the food is very delicious and fresh. I would recommend this restaurant.

Robert B.

Yelp
Smelly and tasted bad. Most of the food didn't look good, I didn't finish my plate and had a light stomach ache by the time I got in my car. The presentation of the food was not good either, this place has potential because the culture offers amazing options but I won't come back here again.

Yelp
When my brother said try Dimassi's once I settled down in Houston, I knew it had to be pretty good, especially since our family loves Mediterranean food. Seriously, I can't believe the price for the selection of food, the upkeep of the service, and the easy dine and pay. At first, I was a little scared they wouldn't have a nice selection of just fresh vegetables to stack everything else on. I even asked if they had just plain Romaine or lettuce since I saw all their salads dressed, which they responded no. However, upon further look, I noticed that most of them were dressed with simple lemon and olive oil or balsamic, with one of them looking barely dressed. Perfect! That allowed me to stack all my goodies on a nice fresh salad. Everything was pretty good - grilled vegetables, chicken, penne mushroom pasta, gyro meat etc. Some things, like the baked fish, was way too salty or were overcooked. Tip: ask for the lamb shank because they have to bring it from the back. It's a little gamey for me but was perfectly fall-off-the-bone cooked. I loved their lentil soup as well, cheesy bread, pita bread, and eating their taziki straight out my sauce cup haha. As for the desserts, it's a pretty diverse selection of ethnic desserts, from rice pudding to baklava, and "creamy" baklava (kind of like stiffer rice pudding with a hint of rose water topped with phyllo, honey, and pistachio). Wish there was whipped cream to top the rice pudding but that is because I just love whipped cream haha. Can't wait to come back. Note: take-out is only $6.99/lb!
