Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet

I’d been wanting to check this place out for quite some time. There’s another location in Round Rock, but many reviewers said the original spot is much better, so we decided to start with the OG location. Parking is plentiful right in front of the restaurant. We came by on a Saturday around 1 PM, worried it might be packed, but it was actually pretty quiet. You can sit anywhere you like, grab a plate, and pay when you’re done. The space is large and open, with three full rows of food and drinks plus a dedicated station for fruit and desserts. Everything was fresh, not overly salty, and there were plenty of options. My favorites were the hummus with eggplant (so flavorful with great texture), the salad and cucumber salad (fresh and refreshing), the dolma (perfectly done), gyro (tender and tasty), baked cauliflower (so good), fried chicken (juicy, crispy, and not salty), falafel (extra crunchy), and the lentil soup (simple but delicious). And don’t miss their coffee at the checkout—it has a hint of warm spice and is the perfect finish after a meal. Surprisingly, I ended up loving the vegetable dishes even more than the meats. Overall, yes, $26 per person is on the higher side (what doesn’t cost 💲 these days, right?!), but it’s a great spot to try a variety of Mediterranean dishes that are fresh, simply seasoned, and let the ingredients shine—perfect whether you’re new to the cuisine or just want a bit of everything.

I couldn’t believe I’ve never tried Dimassi’s since I moved to Austin! The buffet had a great variety of choices! My favorite bread was the cheese pita. But they’re all good and was baked fresh. Hummus and baba ghanoush was amazing. Main dish fave was the grilled chicken. The gyro was a little bit overcooked. Baklava was my go to for dessert! The fruits were a great choice for the more health conscious clients. They have hot tea/cold unsweetened tea, raspberry tea and soda vending machine. Clean, buffet didn’t much need service but their takeout was popular as well. Great value for money. Quiet and large room for large group. Lots of parking and they have military discount!

I’ve been here twice already, and honestly, this Mediterranean buffet is amazing. Everything is super fresh and really flavorful. Salads, hot dishes, desserts — all top quality. The only “problem” is that I always eat way too much. Every time. It’s just hard to stop. Definitely recommend this place.

We came here for the first time around the evening time. By the time when we got done foods, many things seemed not to be fresh… it was a bit of disappointment since my memory with Dimassi’s in houston was already fresh and delicious! Maybe my visiting time was late? But hope I can have fresh ones next time!

I ordered to go today ( delivery) and found a hair in my food. Next to a salad ( see photo) Staff should pay attention when packaging orders. The food itself is ok. Like 2.5-3 The hummus was a bit watery and just ok. The lamb didn't have much flavor to it. Salad lacks seasoning. Overall, it was edible but not appetizing or good. I'd not order here and I will not order here myself.

One of my favorite places to eat in Austin! It is always absolutely delicious, fresh, and healthy. Also at a great value. Love the wide variety of foods offered and the delicious assortment. The food is always steaming and enticing and the staff is so friendly! It’s always a good day when I eat at Dimassi’s!

This is a great place for a buffet. I enjoy almost all the items. Some favorites are the gyros and the grape leaves. The fish is one of the few underwhelming items, and I also don't suggest adding the optional lamb shank upgrade as it isn't really worth it. Clean, spacious environment with polite staff.

I'm not usually a buffet person but Dimassi's is the one place I'll make an exception because they have delicious food, it's clean, and it's reasonable priced. Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet always has a special place in my heart because they were one of the few places we could find open during the snow and ice storm in February of 2021 that shut down Austin (we were visiting from out of town and were stuck with no food). This was our first visit back after 3 years since moving here and loved it just as much! You pay on the way out so you're able to walk in and join the buffet line right away! There's plenty of hand sanitizer available and you get a fresh plate with each visit. They didn't come by to collect used plates from our table but we were also there not too long before closing. The pricing varies depending on the day and time you visit but even the most expensive pricing on Friday and weekend nights is reasonable at $23.99 per person for all you can eat with the appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks. Here are some of my favorite items: Pita bread (thicker than most traditional pita breads which I LOVE) Baba Ghanouge Avocado hummus Rice with lentils Cauliflower Lemon potatoes Gyro meat (use a pita to make a gyro with the cucumber mint yogurt sauce... so good!) Baklava (I usually don't love baklava because it's so sweet but this one was great) If you want a great selection of Mediterranean food and the ability to indulge in as much as you want, you can't beat Dimassi's! I already can't wait to go back and will continue to recommend it to others.

I did a to go order so walk in and self serve and I just got one plastic round bowl. Customer service was very nice very clean, polite, food area, and the tables for the dining. I like that the labels are easy to read in the picture are Vegan Friendly and also the food choices. You have more than four choices for vegans, which is a wonderful and I like that you can get points as you're spending money there each and every time and yes, it's by the scale of weight and I like my food to be at least two scoops so I like my prices for that amount of food . I did not like the falafel at this location because they tasted differently from the South Austin Stasny location,, in Austin, Texas. It tasted more fried and grainy, and some parts of it was uncomfortable to keep in your mouth. I think I like the south Austin location much better.

Great place. All the food was fresh and very good. There were a lot of protein, vegetable and fruit options. A drink was included with the buffet. The owner was actively participating in running the business, not just telling people what to do. My elderly mother came with us (a group of 9) but wasn't feeling good. I asked if she could get the childrens menu, or maybe something ala carte to hold her over. The owner said, "it was on the house tonight." Wow. We definitely felt welcomed and enjoyed everything about our dining experience.

When it comes to a large variety of healthful foods, Dimassi's cannot be topped! I don't go often, because I still tend to overeat at these kinds of restaurants, but I always enjoy it when I go. They have something that works for every diet. Dimassi's feels warm and inviting unlike many other buffets, and makes the whole experience enjoyable.

Buffets usually mean low quality. Not at Dimassi's! Great selection of fresh salads, mezze, and main courses. At dinner time, you can order a lamb shank. I enjoyed most everything on the menu... individual foods ranking between 3.5 and a perfect 5. Definitely will return.

Met a friend for lunch when I was in Buda. We met here because he was wanting to try it. We'll let me say if you want outstanding Mediterranean food that covers everything, this is where you should go. I've been to Peace Bakery and Deli, which is excellent. Here you get all the possibilities and more! I have to say this is the best place to go if you're looking for outstanding Mediterranean. I will say the shredded beef was out of this world! I had it with pita, ala gyro! The choice of salads, humus, falafel etc etc. I live up north but definitely would recommend going here, especially if you're in the area. By far the best place for Mediterranean. You can get every dish you want and enjoy.

Not enough good items. Everything was very bland, problem with buffets as they want to dull it down. Too pricey for the food they serve.

Favorite spot Mediterranean 10/10 Dolmas, gyro, occasional turkey legs, tabouleh, hummus, rice, veggies, salad, fruit, pasta, eggplant, tzatziki! You will leave full!

The food: Nothing to write home about. If you are the type that wants to fill your stomach but do not care for taste, then this is your place. Their lunch Buffet is $17.99 and Dinner is $23.99. The same buffet items both for lunch and dinner except you must ask for lamb shank if you desire. Most of the time, I was told they are out. I don't mind paying more but give me something that is worth paying for. As you exit and pay your bill, they expect you to tip when they don't even clean the tables.

taste terrible, i noticed some found of the hair in there that's definitely disgusting. i used went to south austin is the best than north is nasty. suggest you try go to south is good, very fresh.

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this buffet. Lots of veggie and protein options; all served in a piping hot and immaculately clean buffet spread. Staff were continuously cleaning the bar and refilling the goods. Don't forget to ask about the falling off the bone lamb shank which is included during dinner! Two types of unique beverages when we went - tamarind and rose water. And lots of nice desserts including fresh fruit and rice pudding. If you looking for a super quick and filling bite, give this place a try!

Mediterranean. Buffet. What a concept - but Dimassi's surprised me in a good way. The short: All you can eat pretty solid Mediterranean food for $19.47 (plus tip) - an excellent deal. No, it's not the fanciest facility, but yes the value is there. The highlights: there's a whole buffet dedicated to accompaniments, another for meat / entree, and one for desserts. This is a great place if you are following an eating plan like keto but still want to eat a lot of food. The hummus & garlic dips were incredible. The meats that I had were all mostly good. The baklava was decent, a little sugar forward. The rose water was interesting (like drinking what potpourri smells like but sweet?). Worth the price. The non-highlights: the parking lot is a little hard to find. the bathrooms are not super well maintained. not every food item is great (didn't love every dip, some of the veggies were still a bit raw...but others were cooked well and had a nice char in the same container, the pasta hadn't been refreshed in a bit so it was cold). The ice machine ran out of ice at the end of our meal. They didn't have the lamb shanks (but to be fair, it was a Wednesday night). Glad I got to try this, and would go back for the price or garlic dip alone

This is a big buffet that is all-you-can-eat at a fixed price. I loved the different rices and their pita is heated in a pizza oven that is visible to us, which was great. We were greeted by the host and staff were friendly. The vibe was kind of cafeteria-esque, but I was totally okay with that. I liked all the food, but it was not the best I had ever had. I think it's one of the most solid choices in this general area if you are looking for a wide variety at a decent price. Definitely come hungry!

The food was abundantly available as a hot, cold and dessert buffet with self service. The quality was not good with insufficient flavor. The ambiance was lacking with a dated, deteriorating decor.

A great place for a Mediterranean spread! The food was delicious! Many options for vegetarians as well! The ambience was cozy and family friendly and they kept it very clean. People working there were very friendly and we will come here again for sure when in mood for Mediterranean.

We went here tonight for dinner and it was amazing! Everything was very fresh! The restaurant & buffet were very clean. They were cooking pita bread in the oven (maybe a brick oven? there was a fire in there) and we could watch them do this. It was fresh, hot, & the best pita bread I've ever had! I tried several types of chicken - all were delicious! So many items on the buffet and I had a little bit of as many things as I wanted. We had sodas which were included in the price of the buffet which is a nice touch. There were enough people working to make sure the dishes were filled if they got somewhat low. We were a little confused when we got here since it was our first time, but then we saw the big sign that said we could seat ourselves, eat, then pay afterwards at the register - the prices were listed here too. $21.99 for an adult. Well worth it for the amount of love and preparation that must go into cooking all of these different dishes! We will definitely be back as we were very impressed with the whole experience!

This place is incredible! Homey interior, well presented food and drinks (thank you for serving Coke Zero). Friendly staff and clean tables are a plus! The selection in the buffet is incredible and I got to try a lot of new things with my visit. I got recommended this restaurant from a coworker and I'm so thankful. Absolutely delicious food and good vibes.

It's my second and the food was Absolutely delightful food!! It was very fresh and there is a lot to choose from. Their rose water is so good and actually taste good and has a nice aroma. The employees are kind and courteous. They also love baby's and love entertaining them. The dinning room is large and clean with staff quick to clean tables. The floor is a little sticky but it is what it is being a buffet and all. I highly recommend dinning here.

Good food and the buffet has many items to choose from. The baklava is a little sweeter than what I have had elsewhere, but still good.

Everything was fresh and delicious! So many options and there is something for everybody's taste. If you're shy about trying new foods, you won't be disappointed. This is the best buffet I've been to in a long time. Cleanest and best kept buffet for sure! My friend and I went at a good time and recommend going within an hour of them opening if you prefer avoiding crowds.

They got a good selection of Mediterranean food, starters, veggies, meats, sweets, bread, they got it all. Other than the fired chicken drum sticks, almost all other chicken dishes were super dry. It's mostly self serviced, they only come to your table to pick up dirty dishes. The place is not the cleanest but it's not too bad for its price point. Overall, a decent place, will be back in the future.

Very nice buffet service came here a couple of times and let me tell you it gets hectic during Ramadan. Overall though, food wise it's good. I don't like how dirty the bathrooms are.

Plenty of food ! No Service ! Ambience is not important ! Not for elegant people, great for hungry & food lovers to fill up on everything with its plenty of salads ,meats , vegetables & desserts & carbonated drinks !

This is "the Mediterranean Buffet" to go to in Austin! They have so many great dishes on the Buffet that you have to try. Dimassi makes their bread and desserts fresh for the buffet as well . The buffet cost is pushing $20. That's a great price for this buffet. I highly recommend Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet. You'll want to go Baklava for more!

Having lunch here right now ! If you like Mediterranean food ... this place is a hidden gem . I liked most items offered and was impressed how fresh it all was. Try it for yourself... I'll be back !

Decent food with a very good price. Clean and organized. The buffet ensured the food was warm. Several salad options and main entrees. There is even a dessert bar. The beverage bar has several options, too. The veggies are delicious, and you really need to try the roasted cauliflower. There is chicken, fish, and lamb. Each of the meats is prepared differently. So if you are hungry, stop by Dimassis and have some good food!

Love the buffet, though would like to see some changes in the menu at times. We are regulars here, but we are probably getting a little tired to eating the same food over and over again. Love their pita breads and the flavored drinks.

After all of the mixed reviews, I was kind of nervous that my Yelp friend and I chose to meet at this place for dinner @ 6:30pm on a weekday. I looked for the infamous Manaf but it was not there. We also didn't get to try any lamb shanks. However, the grilled chicken, avocado hummus, and GARLIC SAUCE were the stars here. Our grilled vegetables were still raw. The salads were missing a little bit of freshness and the baba ganoush was inedible. Everyone is right about the rose water -- very different, yet super delicious. I was too stuffed to end with the cardamom coffee but would next time. Our bill was 19.75 with tax. Would return!

First time here and really liked it. Will be back. The food was excellent and the selection vast. Everyone working there was helpful. Two long serving areas with a dessert station. Drinks and bread. All one price. Couldn't be easier, more convenient, or delicious. This is a little more north than we usually go, but this will be worth the trip.

This place never ceases to please and impress me! It's essentially two rows: cold food and hot food. The cold section has THREE types of hummus, at least five kinds of salads ranging from chickpea to fattoush. Lots of yogurt and dip selections and fruit. The hot section is a wonderland of various rices, meats, stewed and grilled veggies. Yummm. YOU MUST TRY the fried cauliflower but be sure to squeeze lemon on it, it's the only way. There is also a bread and dessert station that are fabulous and don't forget to try the cardamom tea with your baklava and rice pudding!!

I gave this place a 5 star review last time and I still support the crap out of the dimassis franchise as an amazing healthy and tasty Mediterranean buffet - the first I'd ever seen! However as some reviews have mentioned.. this place is just going downhill. The main fault for me is the management and how they just visibly show they don't care. I'm not sure if business is suffering so by trying to charge more for less quality they hope this will increase margins or if it's something else. I know it's tough to run a business so I sympathize but they did get rid of lamb shanks on weekends but the price still comes out to around $22-25 for the buffet which is more than I think I'm willing to pay from now on. I might go check back on the south location again because I love the food and again I think this is just a branch management issue. The biggest whammy has been the last two times I've been here - it's been an hour before closing both times I went and by the end of the meal I'm almost done but they get a bit hostile and make you pay and kinda push you to get out. Right at around 9, some worker came with the trash and clean up bins and stood right next to us while I was still eating and just stared at us until we were done. A bit uncomfortable. On top of that I still had some food left and my friend asked if we could take the food on the plate home since they were kicking us out and they said no since "then everyone will start doing that". They end up throwing away all the food at the end of the night anyways so this just felt like a weird situation where we couldn't stay and finish for a few minutes and so they just wanted us to throw our food away. Long story short, I shouldn't go so close to closing time but I think it showed a bit of their true colors and plus the fact that they raised prices while removing the beloved lamb shank on weekends... I don't think this spot is worth it for me anymore.

Good food, however service is a little slow, they take your plate after each meal, and have to get new ones which is nice, but sometimes they run out of plates and utensils. I had to use plastic instead of stand there and wait.

The food here is pretty good! I haven't been to Mediterranean buffet before, but I think it's well worth the money. I really liked the lamb, pita, baked fish, cauliflower, and even the fried chicken wasn't bad. They have a good selection if you're in a Mediterranean mood. The place is pretty clean and very inviting. The baklava is a little sweet and not the crispest, but it's not bad. For buffet food, I'd say is pretty solid.

Absolutely awful. Restaurant closes at 9. Buffet stops being refilled at 7pm. It was Ramadan so people were fasting. Tell me why the price was increased due to the holiday and the buffet not refilled. They are taking advantage of the Muslim clientele. Was charged $28 per person and the only thing available on the buffet was rice... Management refused to do anything and insisted we had to pay since we walked towards the buffet. Went for my birthday dinner. Guess I at least got F***ed for my birthday by this restaurant.

Despite the allegations of culinary diversity, the hypocrisy known as Austin is in short supply of high quality Mediterranean restaurants. Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffett delivers fresh, genuine food at a reasonable price. They have excellent dishes for carnivores such as myself and vegetarians such as my girlfriend. The mood of the restaurant is casual yet classy and you'll see people of many different ethnicities dining in this establishment. I believe the price for admission is fair and adequate. This restaurant is a great place to take a date or host a business meeting.

This place is the BOMB! wide selection and high quality food with good looking cashiers. The Nepali girls are GORGEOUS with their sexy smiles and accents. The food is fresh and ready to devour!. Ill be back 2morrow!

I've been coming for years to this buffet and this location. Dimassi's varies in variety of options depending on which location one goes. Most of the time it is almost the same options. I find this one one of the best Dimassi's I have gone. The food is fresh and there is a lot of middle eastern dishes like salads, different types of hummus, different types of sauces, meats, rice, drinks and desserts. It's a bit pricier for a buffet, but the food quality is way better than any other buffet.

I can't believe we haven't eaten here before! Everything was fresh, full of flavor and presented very nicely in a buffet setting. Handmade pita was pulled straight from the wood fired oven, freshly made hummus, tabouleh, dolmas and all of the wonderful Mediterranean dishes were fantastic. We finished off the meal with hot tea and freshly made baklava. Perfect place for a family with various dietary needs. Plenty of Vegan and gluten free dishes available. This is not a fancy restaurant by any means, but if you want a great value for a delicious meal with lots of options, this is the place.

The people who own this place are the most sweetest and kind people. I've come here MANY times, but one particular day, I had grabbed my plate, sat down and realized I forgot my wallet at home. There was (NO hesitation), "it's not a problem" the man upfront said, "please enjoy your meal and I'll see you next time." I was kinda relieved but also very upset with myself. Anyways, this is not only good food but they do care about the people who come in.

love love this place... wonderful authentic food... clean and beautiful presentation!... my only "beef" is that for lunch togo i paid over $30.. for a simple plate of salad & veggies & 2 small slivers of shaved lamb and a small piece of fish.. and soup (12oz) - i should have eaten there for $17 for all i could eat!! (all food is shown in photo cept the soup container, 12oz)

Beautiful presentation. Food was pretty good! A lot of variety. Dessert section is lacking big time The back lava was soggy :( The other desserts were so lackluster! Very bland, dry, and/or stale The bathrooms need attention!! Probably best to renovate them. The bidets are good in theory but in actuality very gross.

If you are searching for a Mediterranean place to go to and have found Dimassi's, seriously look no further. This has become really the only Mediterranean place I eat at not only because it's that affordable but because the food is that good! For only $15, the buffet has everything you can possibly want. And entire cold bar section with all the salads, fruits, and vegetables you could want. An entire hot bar with all the meats, more veggies, rices, and everything you could find in a Mediterranean restaurant as well! They even have all the desserts like baklava, bottomless coffee, and even serve a special Turkish coffee. I cannot say enough about this place, and have never left extremely happy with all the food they serve

food was fine but they charge 23$, you heard that right 23$ for the buffet for dinner and all weekend. my wife and I ate there for lunch and it was 50$, then they want a tip .... not worth the price. if they were 16$, okay fair.

I arrived at the front door at 8:58 but the door was locked although the sign said they close at 9pm. I headed back to the car but then my friend asked me if there were still customers inside and I said there were. He said I should go back and get an employee's attention so I went back at 9:00 and saw an employee who told me, through the door, that they were closed. I told her I just wanted to get takeout but she insisted that they were closed. I get it that they were closed when I went back at 9 but the doors should not have been locked before 9. 9 should be 9.
