The Best Chinese Restaurants in the East Bay | Eater SF

"Bay Area diners have gotten so xiao long bao–obsessed that you’ll now find the soup dumplings at dim sum parlors and all kinds of other Chinese restaurants that have no affiliation with the Shanghai region from which they originate. Din Ding isn’t strictly a Shanghainese restaurant either, but it qualifies as a specialist: The handmade XLB here have delicate wrappers that bulge and jiggle from the juices contained within. It’s no wonder, then, that dumpling lovers from miles away make the pilgrimage, especially on the weekend." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
We ordered way too much as always. We only had 6 people. Everything was good. The noodle soups, pot stickers, green beans, soup dumplings, cucumber salad. The sautéed veggies could have used more garlic. Would definitely come back when in the area. The parking lot gets full since there are a lot of places to eat here.

Google
Finally got to try Din Ding and I actually really enjoyed it considering pricing is on the higher end for what's offered from what I'm used to 💸 There was no wait since we came early enough for our weekend lunch and got the last available table (nice)! We ordered XLB (piping hot, soupy, and flavorful), potstickers (crispy + juicy), garlic noodles (nutty flavor, al dente), and bok choy (honestly didn't need the bok choy but it's delicious too). Happy to come back another time to try other items. Seating is on the tight side and the lunch atmosphere is super lively.

I have been here so many times, but this is the first time that I could review this place. During the other times we ate all the food before we could take photos of them. This place offer extremely delicious dumplings. They are so moist, and their skin is so appropriately thin. Side dishes are okay. Noodles are diabolical and can be skipped. Noodles are too soft and mushy for my taste. Service is good and quite fast. Waiters are polite. Ambiance is fine in the front, but the bathrooms are a bit tragic.

Came here for my brother’s birthday since he lives in the area. Luckily we made a reservation because it was a full house when we arrived. The menu is not too broad and everyone was able to found something they liked. Service was great and dishes came out pretty quick. Definitely would come back for the fantastic authentic food.

Google
Pork Xiao Long Bao (8 pieces) – These soup dumplings were impressively large and juicy, with a delicate skin encasing flavorful broth. They reminded me of the renowned Din Tai Fung. It is a must try! Combination Chow Mein – a mix of chicken, shrimp, and pork, all stir-fried to perfection. Tastes good because of the “wok hei”. It’s a popular spot, so consider arriving early to avoid a wait.

Google
This restaurant was so De-De-Delicious!!! Din Ding Dumpling makes fresh-to-order xiaolongbao (XLB) using top-quality ingredients. I always love the rich soup inside each dumpling. The meal includes a refreshing cabbage and peanut salad. For my second entrée, I had the pan-fried ground beef pie, which was absolutely Bussin. A meal like this pairs perfectly with a pot of hot jasmine tea. Next time, I’m definitely trying their noodle dishes! 📍 Din Ding Dumpling, Union City, CA.

Google
It is a very good dumpling place. Had lunch here. Busy place and there is a waiting list for it. You can get in the waiting list when it is busy on the yelp app. When available you can go in and get a seat. When you get there you are given a menu with pencil. You can mark you food and quantity needed. They check it with you and the server can suggest about the quantity if it less or more. Food comes in fast and is always delicious. The tea is good and inexpensive.

Google
Great food, good portions, and reasonable prices. Definitely worth the wait. Must try items: pork& shrimp pot stickers, pork xiaolongbao, and dry fired string beans with pork. The scallop rice was a nice touch. The sliced beef tendon was the least favorite item.

Yelp
Omg. This place was so good. I walked in and it was busy! You could tell they get good business. Wait wasn't too bad. They have a waitlist system, so you know where you stand in the line. Sat down, ordered, and the food came out so fast. Efficient workers. Everything was so incredibly fresh and flavorful. Perfect texture, balance of flavors, portions, temperature. Nothing was I had was disappointing. I was overall very impressed with the place. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
This place is actually hella good. I think I like it better than the one in Fremont, since this is the original one. We went on a Wednesday, it was super empty and was able to get a table really quick. The service was spot on and they were very attentive. The food was good, the person I was with ended up ordering because they just wanted to try a couple things. The price isnt too bad also, obviously it's gone up, but what hasnt. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
If you expect this to be like Din tai fung then you are going to be disappointed like me. Took my husband and baby for Father's Day dinner. It was so packed that we had to wait a while to get seated. I called them for reservation but they said they don't take any and can't add to waitlist on Yelp as well. When we went there they asked us to add our name to Yelp waitlist at kiosk. What a joke. With a small baby in hand it was so uncomfortable waiting outside in cold. The chicken fried rice was so bad, rice was so rock solid and not cooked. I got the noodles in black bean sauce. It was alright. Dumplings in spicy sauce was fine Pork XLB was good. Ambiance and service is good

Yelp
My parents loooove this place! They brought me today and I can definitely see why they come here every week My dads favorite thing is the shredded potato dish. Super light and crunchy, but pretty spicy so beware. The green beans were insane--flavor wise 10/10 but they're definitely very well cooked and I think I would like it a little crispier/brighter. Xiao long bao was soooo good but they've changed their chef or something bc they're a lot bigger than last time. Service was great and food came out fast! But be prepared to wait in a long line for a seat. Luckily there's a Daiso nearby and a lot of other great restaurants in the complex

Yelp
Food: 10/10 The 蟹粉小籠湯包 are large and very juicy. Eight crab buns are delicious and highly recommended. Steamed fish dumplings are also very big and solid, but the skin is not thick, so when you bite it, the fish will burst out. I feel that the cost-effectiveness of this one is great and really delicious! In particular, the elderly in the family like steamed fish dumplings very much, which are freshly made and steamed. With small steamed buns, beef pies and several side dishes, the whole family can all be satisfied. Service: 10/10 The service staff is kind. When asking for hot tea, they will take the initiative to remind the hot tea to be charged. The service is sincere and the food is served quickly. 服務人員親切, 要求熱茶時會主動提醒熱茶水要收錢,服務實誠,上菜也快。 Ambience: 10/10 The store has a new retro style, clean and tidy, beautiful and stylish. Come early in the afternoon (before 5 o'clock) to avoid queuing. There is a round table for 10 people in the restaurant , which is also convenient for family dinners. The atmosphere is lively. 店內走新式復古風格, 乾淨整齊,美觀大方。下午早點來(5點以前)可以少排隊。店內有10人的圓桌也方便家庭聚餐, 氣氛熱鬧。

Yelp
One of our favorites and it doesn't disappoint! As usual, we ordered too much food again :) because we just love them! My favorite is the beef brisket and fried rice. Service is always fast and efficient. They're always helpful. This place is usually always packed especially on weekends. We came at a good time today an hour before their midday closing.

Yelp
My cousin and I went on a Monday afternoon & were seated quickly. The staff were nice throughout our time there and kept checking in on us after we placed our order, mostly to refill our water We ordered the pork XLB (my 2nd fave dish we got), the pumpkin shrimp & pork shao mai, pan fried dumpling, bok choy (I love bok choy & it was so good), and special hot oil noodle (my favorite). I would definitely recommend and it's honestly not bad for the price too!

Yelp
We ordered to-go. Even though the restaurant was busy, the staff was friendly and quick. The restaurant itself looked very nice, and we'd love to come back and eat in sometime. We tried five dishes (one not pictured): spicy noodles, string beans, pork belly buns, xiao long bao (XLB), and salt and pepper pork chops. The salt and pepper pork chops were our favorite. We were too busy chowing down to get a photo haha. Everything was great. Here's how we'd rate each item: * Salt and pepper pork chops: 5/5 * Spicy noodles: 4/5 * XLB: 4/5 * String beans: 4/5 * Pork belly buns: 3/5 We'll definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
This is a place that's been here for a while. I've eaten here a long time ago but wanted to come back again with some family. The food here is really really good. Everything seems to be consistent and tasty. The service is your typical Chinese restaurant. Service is okay but the food's the best and that's all you can ask for. Anytime you want something you kind of have to tell them they're not going to come. Ask you how you're doing. If you want some water you may have to waive them down to get your water refilled. This place gets pack pretty fast so just try to come here and off hours. It gets loud also like any other large restaurant. Overall, it's a good time with good food and I believe there are a lot of regulars that go here

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a plaza and they share the parking lot with Daiso, Marina Supermaket, and other businesses. We were greeted and seated right away upon entering the restaurant. There was a paper menu and a pencil on the table to mark our order. We ordered the Seaweed Bean Curd, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Zhajiang Noodles, Seafood Scallop Fried Rice, Combination Chow Mein, and Vegetable Dumplings. The food came out pretty fast. As I was getting my spoon to eat the Xiao Long Bao, I realized there was some dried up food from a previous customer on it. I got kinda grossed out. The Seaweed Bean Curd wasn't very vinegary. The sauce for the Zhajiang Noodles were flavorful. Xiao Long Baos had thin skin and kinda soupy, which we enjoyed. We liked the tobiko in the Seafood Scallop Fried Rice. The Combination Chow Mein was greasy, which was expected. The Vegi Dumplings were kinda on the bland side. After dining here, we were very thirsty and had dried mouth for the rest of the day. They sure used lots of MSG.

Yelp
Waitlist system is good and informs you of where you stand in the queue. Although it looks packed, they keep things moving. The dishes are served hot and fast! Dont be surprised if you are a party of 5 but get seated at a table for 10. You will need the space for all the dishes you will be ordering and be helping to keep the flow moving so everyone can get a chance to be seated!

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in east bay. They have a large variety of options and almost everything is good. Also, price range, it's not bad for the bay. Even though the wait may be long to get a table, they are very efficient at what they do and get the food to you quickly. The quality has changed over time, maybe in a not so great way, but I would prefer this over many other Chinese restaurants in the area. Soup dumplings here I also prefer since it's tasty, filled with soup, and doesn't break. Can't say the same for other places. There's also a good amount of parking. The main thing is to make sure to go earlier since there can be a long wait. The place is clean and spacious.

Yelp
I came for dinner. I heard great things about their dumplings - especially their chocolate dumplings. Well, they definitely specialize in dumplings that's not all that they offer. All of their dishes were super tasty and flavorful. But the highlight was definitely the chocolate dumpling that we asked to be served last. It was my first time having chocolate dumplings, and they did not disappoint. The portion sizes and price were fair. Service was great! Had no issues here. Especially since I came with a group that was not Chinese. And a lot of Chinese places don't offer the same service to non-Chinese groups. My only complaint is that the Lazy Susan was a little unclean and greasy, bringing down the experience a little bit every time I needed to spin it.

Yelp
Our family came close to closing time and it was still a packed house. We still had choice of seats which was nice, and doesn't usually happen when it's crowded. We had pork CLB, beef brisket noodle soup, and friend rice. Everything was delicious and made super fast. We would come here again to enjoy quick food without a long line to wait (usually it's packed and a longer wait during other hours on weekdays and weekends).

Yelp
We (group of 3) were there around 6:00pm on Sunday. This place was super busy but we waited approximately 15min, really quick turnaround. We ordered Vegetable Dumplings; XLB-Pork Original Flavor; Wood & Silver Mushroom Salad; and, Stirred Fried Noodles-Vegetables. Everything on our table tasted so good; and it's reasonable prices! Will go back to try other menus.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Serivce: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. It's a small, cozy dim sum restaurant with upscale art decor, located in a cute shopping strip. I came here extra early to avoid the wait. I would definitely come back! Crab & Pork XLB: 5/5 - Flavorful and Juicy XLBs. 100% would recommend this. Spicy Shrimp Toast: 4/5 - Saw that everyone was recommending this on yelp. It did live up to its expectations but it was a bit oily for me. Chicken & Corn Shaomai: 3/5 - I ordered this because it seemed to be a unique to this restraunt. Underwhelming. Egg Soup with Vegetable & Tofu: 2/5- Regret ordering this. I wouldn't recommend. I personally like soft veggies in my soup but a lot of the veggies were undercooked to my standards.

Yelp
Friends and I came for lunch when the restaurant open. Within 30 mins, it was a full house. We ordered a few items to share. Must have is their soup dumplings. Pork and crab soup dumplings were delicious. Thin layer of skin wrapper filled with ground pork and crab meat. It was moist and juicy filled with soup. Tofu noodles salad was light and refreshing. It came with thin strips of cucumbers, carrots and cilantros. Def order this dish again. Stir fried green beans had a good crunch and it was really good. Thin Sliced braised beef and tendon. It has a nice texture and full of flavors. A bit spicy kick to it. Good appetizer to start with. Seafood noodles soup was not a hit for us. This is our least fave. Don't think it's worth the price. House chow mein was full of flavors and a mixture of beef, chicken and shrimp with slices of cabbage and bean sprouts. Noodles had a good chew. Friends enjoyed them.

Yelp
We love us some Sunday dim sum. Got a chance to check out the popular dim sum spot, Din Ding Dumpling House recently. We arrived for a Sunday afternoon lunch. Parking was accessible in the large parking lot. The restaurant is located in a nice area in Union City. There was a long wait when we arrived, fortunately you can put your name down prior on the Yelp waitlist. The host told us to pre-order 5 minutes before our table was ready. I thought this was a great system because the food was ready within minutes after we got seated. We ordered hot tea, seafood scallop fried rice, chicken chow mien, honey walnut shrimp, pork xiao long bao, sliced beef & tendon, pan fried chives dumplings with scallops, shrimp & pork dumplings, and piggy buns. Everything was delicious and tasty. The piggy buns presentation was appealing with the pig nose and ears. I really liked the crispy batter of honey walnut shrimp. Staff was quick and efficient. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Din Ding Dumpling House. It's definitely a great place to eat at with a large party.

Yelp
Food was super delicious! As in wow! Braised beef brisket in a pot, Combination Fried Rice and Pork and Crab Xiao long bao! Staff are very friendly and courteous. Food arrived fast. Better than DTF. Will definitely come back. :)

Yelp
I've seen a lot of hype for this spot online and amongst friends, and I'm really glad I got around to trying it. The star of the show for me was definitely the XLB: they were so juicy and the soup was so rich in flavor. We also ordered the dumplings, beef noodle soup, fried rice, and sesame cold noodles, which were all great as well. The dumplings were so flavorful, and the portions were very generous. The beef noodle soup tasted amazing, with a very rich broth and noodles that were the perfect texture. The fried rice was great as well; pretty standard taste. I thought the cold noodles weren't particularly spectacular, as the sauce could have been more flavorful, but it was still worth trying. There's often a wait, especially during peak hours, so I'd recommend going early! Service was extremely fast.

Yelp
My go to orders: scallop fried rice, pork XLB dumpling, Pumpkin shrimp & pork shiao mai, green bean, pork chop. Not much of a fan of the noodle soups. Gets busy so use yelp to get on waiting list! Good for big parties! Such a good place to eat here.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant. It looked very popular with people waiting out the door on Saturday afternoon. We checked in on the kiosk and the wait wasn't bad, about 10-15 minutes. Once we were seated, the waitress asked if we'd like tea or water. We were presented with a small dish with tasty veggies that's apparently one per table, no refills as we found out later. We ordered: - Pork XLB (8) - Pork & Crab XLB (8) - Sautéed String Beans - Combination Fried Rice Everything was delicious. XLBs were big, with lots of broth and meat filling. They're not as delicate as the place we usually go where you have to make reservations in advance. Good sized portions of string beans and fried rice. We saw other tables with a beef dish that looked good, and almost added to our order. It would have been too much food for the three of us. Ambiance was casual. The guy who looked like a manager, not dressed like the servers saw that we were ready for the bill. Overall, a good experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Had lunch with my mom here last week as a late Mother's Day lunch. We had the best time and the food was amazing. While they did forget about putting in one of our plates and once I let one of the staff members know, they put in the order and our plate was brought out rather quickly.

Yelp
I think about this place often and crave it - therefore 5 stars. Do: -green beans w/pork, perfectly cooked and seasoned, generous portions and good heat -pork XLB classic, satisfying and soupy -qishan noodles with minced pork - unctuous and nice chewy noodles - yum Skip: -XLB shrimp/loofah, stick with the pig! This was like overcooked shrimp with veg in a wrapper - very plain but tasted light and healthy Servers are actually on their game here and pretty attentive and service drive for this cuisine. They work hard it's a loud and busy place. I usually feel heavy, lethargic after meals similar to this - but they don't overdo it with the MSG here.
google avatar

Eileen F.

Yelp
When I'm in town this is my go to spot with the family and I absolutely love the ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant. Service is quick- food was served promptly and always steamy hot. They do need to brush up on the friendliness of their staff. Other than that I recommend this spot.
google avatar

Michaela S.

Yelp
If you're ever in Union City and start craving Din Tai Fung and don't want to drive all the way to San Jose for it, try Din Ding! You'll be able to get the same or similar dishes as you would usually get at DTF. Although the quality is probably a slight notch down from DTF, the food was still satisfying. I highly recommend getting here early as the wait is probably just as bad!
google avatar

Angela N.

Yelp
This place was 10/10 with their food and their service. Everything that we ordered tastes very delicious; I even forget to take the picture rest of the food. We ordered combination chow mein, shrimp and pork dumplings, pork xlb, shrimp and pork wonton with spicy sauce, and sautéed green beans. The sautéed green beans are a must have to order if you come here. Better than DTF!!
google avatar

Sylvia K.

Yelp
Came here around noon on a Friday. No wait and we were seated quickly. Got the XLB , fish dumpling and beef brisket noodle. XLB had so much soup . It was flavorful. The skin was not thin but then not thick either. I think it was perfect! The noodle was good too. Not spicy. Some places are spicy, the noodles were al dente. There could be more beef briskets. And some were not as tender. Fish dumpling was just ok. We would pass it next time and try something else.
google avatar

Kalyani R.

Yelp
This is by far the best dumpling spot in this area. They have no wait and it's easy to get reserve even though it's so crowded. We go there at least once in a month. Their chicken corn shui Mai , port shrimp dimsum, beef spicy garlic noodles are to die for. My daughter loves their shrimp fried rice too. The ambiance is loud but tbh I don't care as I get the best food.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday night with family, party of 4 and waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated. We ordered a few items off the menu and we enjoyed all that we ordered, the XLB's are huge, all tasted so good though. We enjoyed other items off the menu and got 2 desserts. The ambiance is family friendly, the food items are enough to share. Great service and delicious food! Would recommend and come again!

Yelp
Went here twice with friends and it hit both times! I just recently went to Din Tai Fung and wanted it fresh in my mind so I could compare. In both instances we all went a little later in the day (after lunch) on Saturday and Sunday and didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. When we arrived they gave us a complimentary pickled cabbage with peanuts. It was delicious! I took a star off because we liked the complimentary dish so much that our group of 4 asked for another one and the guy was kind of rude about it when saying no. Weird that they give the same amount of that cabbage regardless of party size (2 people vs 4). He did recommend we order from the menu a pickled dish but the option he gave us wasn't the cabbage dish at all so that was weird. Anyway, the rest of the dining experience was good. We ordered: Sautéed string beans - $17 is a little steep for string beans but they're a safe item. It could use a little more sauce but all the other food is so flavorful you need something to break that up. zhajiang noodle - so so good. Have to eat it hot but I just love black bean noodles and the noodles are perfectly cooked. Bang bang chicken wings - also a hit. It's only 4 small chicken wings but the flavor is awesome. Reminds me of San tung fried chicken in SF. Crab XLB - so so delicious. Great flavor, thin dumpling skin and packed with hot soup. Honestly I haven't gotten anything here that we didn't like! I'd come back.

Yelp
Got few dishes for to go. Pork and shrimp potstickers: best of all the dishes we tried. Flavorful with or without the soy sauce. Shrimp dumplings: were okay. Long mein veggie: Good. The noodles were very flavorful. Next time, we will get with meat. Chicken fried rice: typical Chinese fried rice with the right flavors. Definitely on the bland side, add Sriracha or a hot oil: it becomes really yummy. All dishes are on the bland side. But either with just soy or hot sauce, they tasted really good.

Yelp
Went here on a casual Thursday night dinner with my girlfriend and her sister. We ordered quite a bit and the staff quickly brought out all the food. For starters, the beef noodle soup and dumplings here are top-notch. Very high quality and the noodles are definitely hand-pulled. Sooooo delicious and bouncy. Beef was so tender and melted in my mouth and the XLBs were bursting with flavor. My only critique is the green beans. Wished they were coated and cooked in a garlic base to give them that extra kick. Potstickers here is also a must. Overall, great quality for a decent price! Would go here again if I'm ever in the area :).
google avatar

Yelp
Soooooooooo crowded had to wait on a Sunday 2pm. The xiaolong bao, beef noodle soup, and the Gua Bao (Taiwanese Pork Belly Buns, 割包) were all delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend coming here for the food, especially when you see the long queue of Chinese-speaking clientele flocking here, waiting out the long wait times. You know it's authentic if you see a crowd like that! We were seated at a tiny table in the middle of the restaurant, and it was pretty hectic with people and staff constantly walking back and forth on both sides of our table in narrow spaces. I would try to avoid busy hours if I can, but I'm glad to finally try Din Ding Dumpling House.

Yelp
Best chow mein, honey walnut shrimp and dumplings I've had in my entire life, 10/10. My only regret is not having a second stomach to finish everything in one sitting
google avatar

Devi Y.

Yelp
We came for food, but today feel disappointed. As usual place was busy. Server was a bit rude and my table and seat was still wet and floor was dirty when we're seated. But most disappointed when one mussel in my seafood claypot dish was spoiled. The scallop fried rice was also a bit oily.

Yelp
Might actually consider it 4.5... Came here with 13 people for a family dinner. Arrived at 5PM on a Tue night and boy did they fill up! Nicely decorated. Parking lot was big and had lots of spaces. Food was really good and surpassed expectations, comparable to DTF. Only thing that was a little irritating was they kept on clearing out our dishes while we're eating it's a small table they gave us so it just felt it was inconvenient esp since they already charged for tip. It was busy but not THAT busy and they had more than enough staff. Or felt like they were rushing us out...there were still other tables. pork xlb's, salt n pepper pork chops, garlic string beans, pea shoots, were all very good. The kids loved the piggy custard desserts. XLB had SO MUCH SOUP pouring out, loved it. They gave this pickled cabbage appetizer, complimentary and it was REALLY good too. They had this chocolate dumpling with strawberry bits that was a really good filling. Might be a personal preference but the wrapper for this felt gummier than I'd like. We tried this other shrimp XLB that had some type of greens in it (maybe celery) didn't really like that. Not sure if it's supposed to be mushy or crunchy, but it just didn't work. Didn't really have much flavor too.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
This continues to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. The pork XLB is flavorful and the spicy garlic noodles and hot oil noodles are fantastic. Many of the appetizers are delicious including the tendon and beef slices. But I would skip the shrimp toast, zhajiangmian noodles, spicy wontons (maybe they changed these, but it tasted like sweet soy sauce!), and soy noodle salad. Navigate the busy lot, check in via yelp waitlist and expect a slight wait at busy times, and enjoy. Apart from my 5 star review- one critique I have is on the customer service. We waited 20 minutes for a table and were seated for 20 minutes before explicitly being asking to leave to prioritize customers in line. When there's a line, I completely understand when diners have taken their time to eat a comfortable meal, wrap up and leave. But after 20 minutes? Super irritating.

Yelp
I enjoyed every dish I tried here! It's super authentic (lots of Chinese people inside), and there were so many options to choose from. Portions are generous too. Since dumplings is in the name, I had to get the Pork Xiao Long Bao and Pork Dumplings. Both were delicious! I also loved the Zhajiang Noodles (would definitely order them again next time). I'd probably pass on the Pork Belly Burger: the pork belly wasn't as fatty as I prefer, and I feel like the version with duck would be much better. Overall, service was very good and attentive (instantly removed the empty basket as I was stacking it). The art and decor is also very nice to look at; there's 3D koi and lotuses on the wall. If you're a fan of watching your food get made, there's also a display window in the kitchen where you can see dumplings and noodles. Don't look unless you're not hungry!

Yelp
It's my first time coming back since they loved locations and I will say everything tastes just the same as before in the best way possible. Service felt a little rushed mainly because we went an hour before close so that's understandable. Biggest change of course is the location but the restaurant is bigger, I think even bigger than the Union city location so there's plenty of tables. Prices have definitely gone up but we can thank inflation for that. Overall still one of my top dumpling places to go to whenever I get the craving.

Honey Walnet Shrimp Din Ding Dumpling House in Union City is a popular spot for authentic Shanghainese and Chinese comfort food, best known for its juicy soup dumplings (xiao long bao). Yelp
Food was great, chk & corn dumplings could be better. Service was ok, we were sitting for a while before someone came to us, but it's ok. Ambiance was good.

Yelp
My new favorite dumpling spot. The noodles were both amazing and had a good "bounce" to it and were super flavorful. The portions were also huge, but we managed to finish it all on a hungry night! Service was great, very attentive. We'll be back!

Yelp
We had a great meal at Din Ding Dumpling House in Union City. We tried the shrimp and pork wontons in spicy sauce which were super tasty and full of flavor. The sauce had just the right kick without being too spicy. We also had the spicy shrimp toast which was crispy and delicious. The chicken and corn shaomai was a bit dry for our liking but nevertheless the mix of sweet corn and savory chicken worked well. Everything came out fresh and hot, and the service was quick. The ambiance is nice and has a simple vibe. This is definitely a great spot to satisfy those dumpling cravings!

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a friend, ordered the pork and crab soup dumplings, shrimp and loofah soup dumplings, and spicy oil noodle. We were given a little dish of cabbage appetizer after ordering. The soup dumplings were really tasty, lots of soup and thin skin, fillings were flavorful and tasty too. Noodles could've been chewier, flavor was decent. Service was okay, prices were a bit high, portions average.

Yelp
The portions here are pretty large and all the food was nice and flavorful! The XLB is definitely a must order with a perfect amount of meat and soup. I also liked the shao mai with a similar rich meaty flavor. For the pulled noodles and twisted cucumber I would have preferred it with more vinegar as it was somehow a bit sweet for my liking. Finally, the chocolate strawberry XLB was a great dessert for chocolate lovers as it was super rich. Even though we went on a Saturday we only waited about 10 minutes for two people, so I would say that it is not super hard to get a table. The interior was also nicely decorated and bright. The only qualm that I had is that the MSG taste stayed in my mouth all day afterwards, which was a little unpleasant.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for dumplings and noodles! It tends to get busy during peak hours, but the staff is quick and efficient, and the food arrives fast. I've been here multiple times and tend to always order the pork xiao long bao, spicy cumin zhajiang noodles, and the combination fried rice. I'd skip the spicy and pork wontons, as I prefer those from DTF. This place is perfect for larger groups, especially to share family-style.
