The Newest Restaurants In Philadelphia - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"We can never get enough of dim sum, specifically arriving as hungry as possible and swiping up everything in our paths. At Ding Feng Tang in Chinatown, you can do just that. The restaurant is open every day except for Tuesdays, serving Taiwanese dishes, Shanghainese soup dumplings, Beijing-style skewers, and a full bar. " - Candis Mclean, Alison Kessler

My friend and I went and had some items off of their happy hour menu! Each item was delicious! The chicken with chili sauce was definitely spicy, but we couldn’t stop eating it. The pan fried dumplings were honestly my favorite I could’ve had many more. The steamed shrimp dumplings were great as well I really liked how the shrimp was cooked. The pan fried dumplings were not on the happy hour menu. I also recommend the Lychee Yogurt alcoholic drink it was surprisingly refreshing and delicious.

Recommend: taro pocket dessert Ok: skewers, beef ho fun, Taiwanese popcorn chicken The taro pocket dessert also had red bean but it was gooey and the right amount of sweet. Skewers had good flavor though they were a bit overcooked and slightly tough with the worst offender being the chicken gizzards. (We also ordered the pork belly and enoki, beef, and lamb) The beef and lamb were put in the same foil bag and were not differentiated in any way. Ho fun was a bit bland but the texture on the noodles was good. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was ok but the chicken pieces were cut super small and also a bit tough. A good portion of the dish is also just leftover fried bits of nothing. The service is absolutely terrible. It took over an hour for a take out order. The restaurant ran out of untensils and napkins. Staff did not have any helpful suggestions other than "that dish will take too long". Staff was also often not available at the front/hosts desks for over ten minutes at a time. The staff said they could call before the order was ready but did not do so. When I arrived the skewers despite being in the foil bag were already stone cold. Only the noodles had any sort of residual heat left. Maybe the experience is better if you eat in or only go when you see that it is not busy.

I recently visited Ding Feng Tang Restaurant & Lounge in the heart of Philly's Chinatown and was thoroughly impressed. The space is modern, spacious, and beautifully designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere right in the city center. The service was excellent – friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was a delight, showcasing the rich flavors and quality ingredients. The vibe of the place was just right, making it a perfect spot for a variety of occasions. I'm genuinely excited about this new addition to Philadelphia's dining scene and highly recommend a visit for anyone looking for top-notch Taiwanese cuisine in a fantastic setting.

Food was delicious. We had the beef noodle soup, the ribs, desserts (all 3), popcorn chicken, soft fried shrimp. Service was good. I would recommend.

Google
When I walked in the music was pumping. I usually take this as a bad sign, like they're trying to attract a younger drinking crowd and the food is secondary. Maybe they are but the food was outstanding. The hot and sour soup, House Special fried rice and the $5 happy hour crystal shrimp dumplings were all winners. I'll be back 🤖

I recently visited this restaurant, whose name reminded me of Din Tai Fung. The popcorn chicken and vegetable dish were quite good, but I was disappointed by the skewers, which were overcooked. The service was okay, but our waiter didn’t come to refill our water. On the positive side, the restaurant is spacious and food came out quick.

Just walked by this spot and was enticed. Restaurant was huge, busy, but no wait, prices are good and portions large. Service was great, multiple people looked after us. We ordered way too much food for three people so be careful but it’s also worth indulging. We got Taiwanese style stir fried rice cakes, these were a table favorite, super savory yummy sauce, chewy smooth rice cakes, house special pork belly, this was okay the pork was good and really fatty but the sauce on the outside didn’t seem fitting for the pork belly, it went better with the spinach underneath. Wish it had a less savory umami element, it was good on its own but didn’t mesh w pork belly in my opinion. We got the sweet and sour pork ribs, those were yummy and speak for themselves. We got pork and chives dumplings pan fried, defintely enjoyed, pork soup dumplings were yummy and hand rolled right in front of us, perfect dumpling and soup! The skewers were so yummy, def get it spicy it’s a nice salty and spicy flavor w a lil sweetness. We ordered a few more things I didn’t even get to try but definitely took it home. Good spot to share a bunch of plates for a great price and amazing food!

The food was very good, we got the mini crispy pork buns (basically soupy crisped up pork dumplings), chicken soup dumplings, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, and the Tantan noodles. I liked everything overall, the chicken soup dumplings were maybe bottom of the list bc I think they could use a tad more flavor but my friend preferred them over the pork buns. Either way, the popcorn chicken is among my favorite Taiwanese fried chicken here in Philly. The tantan noodles were good, I wanted them to be a tad spicier if anything but that's a personal preference. Since we went at a weird time the restaurant was pretty empty but the staff were friendly and also offered us a bigger table so we would have room for everything (I wouldn't expect this to happen during the rush tho). We got the big booth table where you could see into the kitchen which was fun. I didn't catch the woman's name who waited on us but she very clearly explained the menu and reminded us to look at the back (and... We forgot lol) for other food/drink options. She was super friendly and helpful, and there on a Saturday afternoon. We were able to split the check evenly between me and my friend too and they come around with an iPad for paying/tipping so it was convenient. Overall a good experience. I will say it must be an interesting time in here though when the karaoke is going on upstairs- they started up singing towards the end of us being there and it was... Interesting to say the least lol. It wasn't too disruptive admittedly but just be aware that this place probably gets noisy for dinner service.

Yelp
Been here a few more times in the last 8 months to get a better scope of an honest review. Pros *Very friendly staff. Always accommodating. *happy hour runs from 4-7, that extra hour is appreciated. *Extra space in back for larger parties. Cons *Drink specials are drinks with ingredients that don't seem to be created by someone who knows drinks very well: green tea and Hennessy, etc *Drinks aren't balanced and none are good. I've tried just about all of them *They are often out of ingredients for drink menu items *Staff doesn't really seem to know menu. For example, scallion pancakes are deep fried and not pan fried, which makes them terrible. *Food items are always balanced as well. For example, the mushroom skewer has an odd flavor profile. *There are only 2 vegetarian items on the entire food menu Overall, if you are looking for a place to get a $7 cocktail this is your place.

Yelp
Was feeling hungry in the afternoon so I stopped in during Happy Hour for some quick bites. When you first walk in, you see the bar with some seats and then narrow corridor of seats, but the floor plan extends further into the back, which has several TVs. The three bathrooms are small, but not dirty. Service was straightforward and quick. The happy hour menu has a good variety of small bites for seemingly cheaper prices. Beer was only $3 with a handful of options. I opted for a bottle of Sapporo. We got the lamb and grilled pork and enoki mushrooms skewers (2 each). On the regular menu, there's 3 for maybe around $10 depending on what type. You can adjust the dry spice level from not spicy to spicy. The lamb was very chewy, and I got it spicy (they don't play with spice but it was a good kick). I think the grilled pork and enoki were better bc they had a sweet tangy and not dry taste. The mushrooms gave it a good texture. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was really good! For $5, it was juicy and shareable between two people. They were very small bites and had a thin somewhat crunchy breading that hid juicy chicken. The crabmeat and pork soup dumplings were decent (3 for $5 so around the same as ordering a full dish with 6 pieces). I haven't had some in a while. The filling was hot and juicy; the soup had flavor to it. The crabmeat didn't really add much flavor though. The lava egg custard buns were amazing though. There's a lot of dough on the outside to get to the gooey center but it simply explodes. The hot egg yolk almost leaks out. I wish the exterior had more of a crunch instead of fluffy texture, but overall delicious.

Yelp
Came here for quick bite and caught the end of happy hour. All cocktails are $7 and a good bit of food that's discounted. I ordered the lychee cocktail and was not the biggest fan of it. The food is pretty good here! We ordered the crabmeat and pork soup dumplings, chicken skewer, vegetable stir fry noodles and general tso chicken. The winners were the pork soup dumplings and general tso. I will skip on the skewer and noodles next time. Chicken is heavily coated in cumin and has a nutty taste. This is the perfect skewer if you like a dry rub! Noodles were lacking flavor so I had to add quite a few condiments to bring it back. The soup dumplings were flavorful and had the perfect amount of dumpling/filling ratio. I could eat these again! The general tso does not come with rice. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. Not too sweet and made just right! A cool and clean establishment in Chinatown with a full bar.

Yelp
I stopped by Ding Feng Tang last week on a Tuesday and learned that the restaurant is closed on Tuesday's! So I tried visiting again on a Wednesday during happy hour! The cocktails are $7, beer $3, and the selection of food $5 each. My friend ordered everything spicy and I needed to drink a lot of water due to the spiciness. The soup dumplings were my favorite of the items that were selected from the happy hour menu. The restaurant is spacious and clean! There is a large window where you can watch dumplings being made. I will visit again during weekend brunch hours.

Yelp
A more affordable, local version of Ding Tai Fung! Everything was so so. The seating area is huge, with a live window where you can watch the aunties make the fresh dumplings. Soup dumplings were yummy, and pork and shrimp wontons in chili oil were great. Dan noodles could've had more meat/toppings, popcorn chicken didn't have much flavor. Pro tip: the happy hour menu actually ends up being more expensive than the regular menu if you count by individual item. However, they do offer smaller portions for a cheaper price, so you can try more variety if that's your cup of tea! Their other stir fry items looked delicious, but I didn't get a chance to try! Servers were so nice and incredibly smiley!!

Yelp
Love this place! All the food came out fairly quick, everything was flavorful and hot. They have a killer happy hour menu which we took full advantage of. Service was great and friendly. The place is super clean nicely decorated with a window to see the chef make the dumplings by hand. Highly recommend this place and I will definitely Be back. One thing I didn't like is that they advertised one free cocktails on instagram until the end of April when I mentioned it to the waiter he didn't know what I was talking about so we didn't get our free cocktail.

Yelp
Great happy hour spot! Food: 4/5, Value: 4/5, Service: 2/5 We came in for their happy hour. Lots of options on their $5 happy hour menu! We got a large selection including two types of soup dumplings, shu mai, chicken wings, beef skewers, and enoki pork belly skewers. Just to note the dumplings come with 3 instead of the normal 4 dumplings on their regular menu making them a similar price to normal. Our favorites were the pork belly skewers which were deliciously chewy, perfectly fatty, and salty. The chicken wings had a great marinade and were crispy and juicy. The dumplings were good too, but nothing special. Would skip the cocktails. They were quite sweet and were not very strong (we tried South Bay and lychee yogurt). Service was not great. We had to wait a while to put in our order and they forgot one of our cocktails despite asking twice. They are a new place so hopefully they work out the kinks!

Yelp
Stopped in to try this new spot during happy hour. The prices are pretty good overall, even with the regular menu, so decent value. The drinks were unfortunately not spectacular - the Mai Tai was definitely not a typical proper mai tai you would expect. The hand made dumplings you can watch being made which is a nice touch. A little small, but well put together with good taste. Seemingly a focus on being a decent dumpling spot. The skewers also were seasoned very well but the quality of the pork belly slices were subpar which brought down the overall dish. Only half of our order made it to us as the rest of it wasn't given to the kitchen, and we waited expectedly, so unfortunately a mistake as they're newly opened. Overall there were both positive and negative parts of the meal, so may need to try again once they have settled some more. Thanks

Yelp
Great food and staff in Chinatown. First time there on a Saturday at like 4:30pm. Got some happy hour menus like crab pork soup dumpling, pork and enoki on a stick, pop corn chicken. Also got the crab fried rice. Everything was amazing.

Yelp
Following the week of soft opening nights, five of us came for Ding Feng Tang's Grand Opening night. This review is given with grace as bumps are always expected as new teams learn to work together. In this case, there seemed to be plenty of teammates, but they were often in a rush and difficult to flag down. We were seated right away, even though we had not been able to make a reservation: no one answered the phone nor the Instagram direct message. We asked for water and a round of drinks as we read our way through the offerings on the checklist. Water was served in very small glasses--thankfully a water carafe was left on the table for refills. Hot tea was served in the same small glasses--we wished the glass was thicker or had a handle so drinking was easier. We wound up ordering in two rounds because we wanted half a Peking duck and knew it would take a while. We were foiled in this attempt: even though the server read the initial order back to us, the duck did not make it into their system. We inquired after it halfway through the meal and we wound up eating it for dessert. In all, we tried: - Pork soup dumplings (a group favorite) - Crabmeat & pork soup dumplings - Chicken soup dumplings - Chives & pork potstickers (a group favorite: who doesn't like potstickers?) - Fried pork buns (a group favorite: good flavor) - TanTan noodle (a group favorite: good flavor) - Taiwanese popcorn chicken (a group favorite: hot and crispy) - Cucumber in garlic sauce (a group favorite: fresh and garlicky) - Scallion pancake (a group favorite: nice and crispy) - Beef skewers (needed more seasoning) - Lamb skewers (needed fat rendered longer) - Vegetable fried noodle - Chinese broccoli with garlic (a group favorite: divine sauce) - Peking duck (half) I'd return to try some of the other offerings once service smooths out.

Yelp
Came with six friends to check out this new spot and that's the way to do it: family style! Unfortunately, two of our party were veg/vegan and the servers didn't always know if things were actually vegetarian or not, but that's common in Chinese restaurants. So if you're vegan/vegetarian, just be aware that you'll have to be extra careful and use your senses lol. Our servers were very friendly, if a tiny bit inattentive. We had to chase them down and hand them our order sheet and ask for more water, but after that, food came out pretty quickly and they checked in more frequently. Beyond the seating area in the front, where you can watch the dumplings get made, there's a back area with some tables and then the bathrooms all the way in the back. No lazy susans on the tables, so you'll have to pass food around by hand. We ordered a ton of food, which I'll break down below, but overall I'd say it was pretty good! The meat was tender and the flour/doughy items (dumpling wrappers, wonton wrappers, noodles) all had a nice texture. Value seemed about right, especially in today's economy! Also, they have beer and cocktails for reasonable prices, and a weekday happy hour from 4-7 where beers are only $3 and cocktails only $7! What we ordered: -squid, lamb, pork belly, and sausage skewers. All pretty tender and yummy. "Spicy" isn't actually that spicy, so don't be afraid to get them! I really liked the pork belly ones, which had enoki mushrooms inside -wontons in chili oil: again, not that spicy, and pretty good but not amazing -scallion pancake: very nicely crisp -grandma's noodles: like soft peanut noodles. Pretty good, but not very complex, like something simple and comforting you'd make at home (hence grandma?) -grandma's rolls: like mooshu with pork, ginger, bean sprouts, chives, but without the hoisin sauce. Decent, but not my favorite -tan tan noodles: a bit dry but nicely spiced with mala and meat -cucumber salad: not spicy at all, and a bit underwhelming, flavorwise -crab and pork soup dumplings: just as good as anywhere else in Philly, I think, though tbh, I'm not much of a soup dumpling person. They give you vinegar but no shredded ginger... -chive and pork pot stickers: the wrapper had a nice texture but the inside was pretty standard for a chive and pork dumpling Like I said, pretty good! I'm sure they'll get better with time as they're still new. Definitely check out their happy hour because those deals are worth it!

Yelp
I went to Ding Feng Tang (keep wanting to type Din Tai Fung) tonight for an alumni gathering and am so glad to have discovered a terrific Chinese restaurant. My table mate who grew up in China affirmed that everything was delicious and authentic. We had 9 people so we ordered the family menu for 8 plus a few extra items, happy hour beers at $3 each, and I had the delicious lychee cocktail for a happy hour price of $7 (not a lychee martini, even better!) From the family menu, we ordered the following plentiful food items and we each ended paying $30 including tip! Hot & Sour soup - 4/5, very solid and delicious (Din Tai Fung's hot and sour is still the only one I've given a 5/5 to), could have chosen wonton or chicken wonton soup, I look forward to going back to try these Appetizers - choice of three out of five options, we selected: - cold spicy cucumber 4/5 because not that many thinly sliced cucumbers and not that spicy (for me) - scallion pancakes 4/5 because they were too oily but still delicious - wontons in chili oil 4/5 because I think there were only four maybe five and if this is for a family of 8 that doesn't really work Soup dumplings - 5/5, choice of three types with 5 dumplings in each: pork, chicken, crabmeat & pork; served with vinegar and ginger, steaming hot and filled with soup, we ordered one of each. I much prefer these to Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao's soup dumplings. Skewers - 5/5, choice of four types: beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, we ordered one of each Vegetable - 5/5, bok choy (very small bok choy) which we ordered, we did not get the mapo tofu, chinese broccoli, or string beans but I look forward to returning to try them Fried rice - 5/5, choice of vegetable or house version, we ordered the house Noodles - 5/5, choice of cold hot chili noodles or grandmom's noodles which we ordered, perfectly chewy noodles with oil, garlic, green onions. Super simple and simply delicious! Chef's Choice - 5/5, we could order any one of 15 some dishes, we chose the twice cooked pork and were not disappointed. It was a little spicy for some at the table but it was exactly the taste I was looking for, yum! ALL OF THE ABOVE WAS THE FAMILY OF & MENU, LOTS OF FOOD! We also added these happy hour $5 items - more skewers - taiwanese popcorn chicken 5/5 and another vegetable dish - eggplant in garlic sauce 5/5, not too greasy, great flavor we finished by trying the taro pockets, red bean pockets, and rice cake with osmanthus - all were 3/5, nothing to write home about (but then again there are few chinese desserts that are worth writing about). I look forward to returning to Ding Feng Tang and bringing my family and trying more dishes!

Yelp
My friends and I came to their soft opening on 12/16/23 and it was an okay experience overall. I like the dumpling making window, it was fun to watch the staff prep the different style of dumplings. We arrived without reservation around 1pm on Saturday with a group of 4 and were quickly seated. Overall, all of the food was good - but nothing to write home about and not much different from the many dim sum adjacent restaurants in the area (Dim Sum Garden, Toms Dimsum, Nom Wah etc). I was excited to see Ding Feng Tang markets itself with Taiwanese food. Not sure if it was just the soft opening menu, but there was nothing Taiwanese about the menu except for the popcorn chicken, which was disappointing. I do appreciate that they had chicken wonton and soup dumplings instead of pork for those with dietary restrictions. Service was friendly and no complaints there. I liked the eggplant skewer, it was slightly overcooked but I enjoyed the flavors. Grandmas noodles I wouldn't get again - it was okay for a sesame/soy based side dish noodle but not worth the price imo. I'll be checking in to see if their menu is expanded with more Taiwanese offerings after their grand opening - but currently I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for authentic Taiwanese cuisine in particular

Yelp
Great happy hour specials for $7 cocktails and $5 appetizers 4-7 daily. I got the spicy wings I would give. 7/10 and the grab dumplings 7/10 as well. Your first cocktail in the month of April is on the house. The bartender was very nice and welcoming even offering me to select what music I wanted to hear

Yelp
I only wish that the service was even half as good as the food. We made reservations and went for happy hour and our host sat us at a tiny table in the middle of the walkway even though there were several other tables in much nicer places, and when we asked if we could switch tables, nothing happened. As this was our first time there, our host explained that we needed to write "H" next to all the menu items that we wanted to order, so we followed their instructions and did this on the majority of the items we wanted to order. Next, we inquired about the free drink, and yet 3 different people were confused about this offer, even after we showed them their own social media posts. The lamb skewers were delicious and perfectly seasoned, and the soup dumplings were also great. When the bill came, it was almost quadruple what we expected to pay AND both drinks were included on the receipt. Upon asking, again they were confused about THEIR OWN free drink promo, which we had to show ... again. As it turns out, they had entered all our items as regular, instead of happy hour. I don't know how they missed the almost 10 "H"s that we wrote next to every single item we wanted, and the waitress who took our order said she noticed the error after she put in the first one but then forgot to change all the other orders that were in already. To me, this didn't make sense since the orders all came out separately, so there was ample time to go change the order. At the end, she offered a 10% discount. Overall, great food but honestly the service and lack of attention to detail really negatively skewed (no pun intended) our experience.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch on Sunday and it wasn't too busy. The restaurant seemed relatively bright and new. I ordered the Tantan noodles, pork wonton in chili sauce, beef cumin, and pork wrapping enoki mushroom skewers. The food was all pretty tasty, though it could be a bit spicier. The flavors were decent but I'm used to food having a much richer flavor. Overall it's a decent place to eat and is good to go with friends.

Yelp
This used to be Tango downstairs but now it's a nice restaurant. Long and narrow restaurant. My husband and I came just in time for happy hour. We ordered XLB and skewers from the happy hour menu. Both chicken and pork xlb was juicy and flavorful. The skewers were good too but the flavor wasn't as strong as we like so it lack in that. The portion of the skewers seem like a lot but it was majority fat pieces.. The scallion pancake and garlic cucumbers were basic. Beef ho fun was good but it's more greasy than what we're used too. Service was good, servers were very friendly.

Yelp
One of the newest spots recently opened in Chinatown. Known for their soup dumplings, they have an extensive menu to choose from. We chose a $70 set meant for a family of four but fed six that included choices of different items, but we got two shrimp skewers, scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup, mapo tofu, fried rice, grandma noodles, beef in spicy chili sauce, one pork soup dumpling, and one pork and crab soup dumpling. I would say with all this food, it was an incredible value for $70. Although the place is known for soup dumplings, they weren't the absolute best I've ever had. They were decent with a thicker skin. However, the rest of the food was solid, and we had no complaints. They didn't skimp on the alcohol for the drinks. My personal favorite was the lychee yogurt cocktail, which was sweet and a bit creamy from the yogurt soju. Reservations can be made on OpenTable, and there's a decent happy hour from M-F. Their listed phone number doesn't seem to be working as I tried to call a few times, but otherwise check this place out! It's downstairs from Tango, so you can make it a dinner and night out in one building.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a friend from out of town. We had 3 orders of could soup dumplings (2 pork, 1 crab), cold cucumbers, scallion pancakes, and Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Cucumbers and scallion pancakes were forgettable. The popcorn chicken was hot and light/crispy. The dumplings were good. Had a good a about of soup and you can taste the crab in the crab dumplings. My friend is from China and he enjoyed the dumplings. Restaurant was clean and staff was attentive, which is a bonus.

Yelp
Food: The food here was good but not anything to rave about. I like that they also gave us free peanuts and pickled radish. However, I feel like the chili wontons, and wonton soup were decent. The soup dumplings were also solid but nothing different. They do have a decent happy hour deal, I'd come back for that. This review deserves another 0.5 stars. Soup dumpling: 3.5/5 Wonton noodle soup: 3.5/5 Chili oil wonton: 3.5/5 Service: The service was good and attentive. Ambience: The interior was very nice and renovated. I liked the modern decor and the design of the interior.

Onyae L.

Yelp
NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY. If you have a peanut or sesame allergy do not go here. The restaurant itself was clean, nice decor. I let the waiters/waitresses know beforehand I had an allergy right when I walked in, they told me they would let the kitchen know and they still put the peanuts and pickled radish on the table. I ordered General Tsos chicken, the sauce for the chicken has sesame seeds. Also ordered the chicken skewers not hot option, they were pretty bland 1.5/10 and they didn't give a dipping sauce or something to go with it. They took my chicken off the bill.

Yelp
Killer happy hour, every day 4-7. $3 beers and various $5 plate. Can't go wrong. Attentive service in a bright clean space.

Yelp
Had the brunch deal $20 for bottomless drinks and 4 course of food including a plethora of dumplings. It was nice to have a non-American option for a Saturday brunch special. Definitely worth the price and has a variety of drinks. Soup dumpling were tasty and they kept on coming! Very happy with our time there. Service was great. More of a chill spot.

Yelp
Wow! Love this place! Food was excellent! Loved the soup dumplings and the skewers! Loved that you can see the staff making the dumplings right there too! Staff was so hospitable! Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Saw taiwanese in the restaurant name and was sold. Food was good but the service was better and the staff were very attentive. I would've rather gone here and ordered a lot of dim sum instead of actual food. The bokchoy was so good but everything else was alright. The jasmine tea was also very potent and tasty if you love concentrated tea. Love the ambiance and concept but the dumplings should've came with a sauce, the beef noodle soup had a lot of oil instead of actual broth. Hot and sour soup was alright.
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance. It's a trendy spot. We enjoyed the $5 happy hour appetizers. The soup dumplings and wings were great but the skewers were small and overcooked

Yelp
Although most of our nine-person party was late for brunch at Ding Feng Tang today, the server at this restaurant never made us feel as though we were taking up space. We ordered dishes from every part of the menu, and we were delighted with everything we ate: the dumplings, the garlicky bok choy, the scallion pancakes (that our Scottish friend adorably referred to as "wee bread"), the skewers, and the salt-and-pepper shrimp. Everything came out hot and tasted super fresh. I should also mention that we had two little kids at the table and we left a bit of a mess. Our server was also patient and gracious about that. I strongly recommend this place.

Yelp
First of all we ended up in this place totally random on Christmas Day, as we were passing by looking for a place to eat. We didn't check the reviews as they had grand opening two days ago (and I am happy we didn't). I am European and genuinely very picky eater. This place is AWESOME. I have no idea how someone could give it 3 stars lol. Everything was on point. We've had crystal shrimp, edamame, veggie rice, bunch of different skewers ,chicken wonton soup, shrimp shumai - surprisingly total winner were enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon. They were delicious!! Service was very nice and professional, ambiance very relaxing. Love the decor at the bar. Totally recommending to try the place and make your own opinion! They have 4-7pm happy hour. We spent $63 + tip for a FEAST!

Yelp
Dined on a Saturday afternoon for bottomless brunch for 35$. The only thing bottomless is the 3 alcoholic drinks you get to choose from. They are made with cheap liquor and weren't good. The food is ok. They will not let you substitute anything out of the 3 choices you pick from. Our server didnt check back to see if we needed anything so I had to go find him. It's not worth $35.

Yelp
If you have food allergies, DO NOT COME HERE. My allergies (nuts and sesame) were on the reservation, written in red ink on both sides of the menu, and I spoke with three different hosts confirming that what my friend and I ordered was safe for me to eat. It certainly wasn't because I could feel my mouth and throat swelling after two bites. You could even see the sesame - I should have checked more closely. Less than an hour later, I was at urgent care. I am never coming here again and telling everyone I know to avoid it like the plague, especially if they have dietary restrictions.

Yelp
Came with my husband and friend and we FEASTED. Their pricing is fair, cocktails were really really good, and the portions were very plentiful for sharing. Our server was polite and helped us in choosing wisely. The atmosphere is no frills, yet still approachable and clean. Our favorites were the green beans, lamb skewers, soup dumplings, and chili oil wontons. If you're looking for a good friends dinner, definitely look into this place!

Yelp
I'm basing my review on two delivery orders. While nothing was very good everything was tasty. I thought the skewers were fun though salty.

Yelp
Most legit authentic Chinese dumplings and chuan I've had in Philadelphia yet. The Dan Dan was excellent too.

Yelp
Me and a few of my friends went to dinner here and didn't have a great experience. My friend is gluten free and asked the waiter if there were any gluten free dishes or a gluten free menu. She said the place had indicated online that they were gluten free and had a gluten free menu. Our waiter first came back with a separate group dining menu, seemingly confused at what we were asking. We then tried to reiterate the dietary restriction. He then asked the chef and manager and eventually came back to say the rice and noodle dishes can be made gluten free but he didn't sound that confident. Later on after we had ordered we were given a noodle dish that we didn't order. None of us touched it and waved the waiter over to explain we didn't order it. He took it away, went to the back and then we saw what looked like the same dish on a table next to us. That's just unsanitary and gross. As for the food, it was just okay. We ordered fried rice, chicken wing skewers, sautéed string beans, general tsos, and soup dumplings. The chicken wing skewers were absolutely disgusting, completely dry and over seasoned. Everything else was just okay. The cherry on top however was when I went to the restrooms, upon entering one of the single use restrooms I saw an unflushed toilet with urine in it. Overall we had a pretty bad experience with mediocre food. There's WAY better places in Chinatown to spend your money, with better food and a cleaner atmosphere.

Yelp
We were at Ding Feng Tang during their soft opening and had a great experience. Being able to watch the dumplings being made kept our little ones engaged while waiting for the food. The dumplings were exceptional (order the pork soup dumplings to start your meal). We've lived in China - these were as good as any we had there! The Peking duck was perfect - crispy and flavorful. Its simple decor is in keeping with a good dumpling house - basic but inviting. Only one small comment - ordering was a bit slow, particularly as we added to our order. We chalk this up to the soft opening. Highly recommend!
