The Best Boba Tea in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Out of the 20-plus boba shops in the U District, Taiwanese chain Ding Tea stands out for the strong real tea flavors coming through in most of the milk tea drinks. The brown-sugar boba milk tea is perfectly crafted, streaked with black sugar syrup, but it’s hard to miss with this tea shop’s menu." - Ryan Lee

Zero stars. My friends and I went into Ding Tea this afternoon. We were having a conversation about 10 mins until the owner in an insulting and very rude tone demanded for us to order or leave the store. Out of nowhere, we were flabbergasted! We explained that we never go to an establishment and never pay. We are not that kind of customers. We also said we have come here before. I'm also a generous tipper and tip at least 25%. He just treated us like criminals! I asked him where is the sign where customers can't have a 10 min conversation before placing an order. He just said we have a right to refuse service to anyone. So I said to him you're refusing paying customers because my friends and I had a 10 min conversation before placing an order and he said I'm a store owner and could do whatever I want. So I said ok, noted! We are never coming back ever!!!! Show less

I rather give this place a ZERO STAR - Here is what happened today - My friends and I have been coming to Ding Tea on the Ave for years as our go-to spot to relax after lunch. Today, though, was a complete letdown. We were casually browsing the menu and chatting when the owner, Kang Han ( I don't know the exact spelling but he is indeed the owner of Ding Tea on on the Ave), came over and demanded we order immediately or leave. His tone was rude and condescending, and the whole interaction felt aggressive and completely uncalled for. Believe me, I had been going to the Ave for over 20+ years. I went to school (UW) here and never been treated ever by any business like this on the AVE. We told him we were regulars—one of us has even tipped 25% in the past—but he scoffed and said he’s always at the store and doesn’t recognize us. Then, in a passive-aggressive move, he pointed at a sign saying “we have the right to refuse service to anyone,” which felt like a slap in the face. This kind of behavior from an owner is baffling. It’s as if he's actively trying to drive customers away. Maybe Seattle got to him—or maybe he genuinely doesn’t care about the business anymore. Either way, we won’t be coming back, and if you value being treated with basic respect, you might want to think twice before going yourself. I have also been to a numerous number of boba tea places and there is nothing special about this place. Good riddance.

Stopped by on a Friday evening. It wasn’t too busy. When you walk in you’ll notice that it’s clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. The employees were welcoming and nice. Boba was cooked perfectly and drinks were made exactly how we ordered them.We ordered the aloe Vera peach juice with boba,Monster latte with boba and a honey milk tea. All of the drinks were great,I’d definitely recommend this place.

Google
I love this boba place. I always order the monster boba latte, so good!

Lily

Google
One of the many milk tea options on this block. There are also a couple of coffee drinks. There is some seating and wifi. There are two tablets to order from. Parking is all street parking, and relatively close to a bus line and link station.

Zack Yao

Google
Not sure why that is less tea than the other cup. Maybe just forgot to fill it in full, or saving cost, running business is hard and it is understandable. Other boba tea shop will fill in full in any other circumstances, hope you can do the same. By the way, can anyone tell me if one of this is mocha? I ordered mocha but doesn’t taste or look like one, should be more green right?

Google
This business is so reliable. I order ahead on Clover and pick it up. They always have what I want. It's always hot. It's also quiet inside with seating and wifi if you need to work or study.

Chrim Art G

Google
Comfortable place. It's quiet and clean. Kinda a vibe for students to bring their laptops and study, there's posters on the wall about events and tutors. I like it here. The price isn't bad compared to the other shops on the Ave

Yelp
This is the first Ding Tea I've been to and in terms of quality milk tea drinks, they were definitely up there until bigger competitors like Macu came around. If you want decent milk tea, this is an option. It's very quiet in the day but packed at night, plus a lot of to-go orders. Bar seating is nice but narrow, and you're facing a wall with your back turned to the staff which makes it feel a bit awkward.

Yelp
Boba: 6/10 Service: Good Ambiance: 4/10 I've been coming here for years, but it's not as good as it used to be. You order through a kiosk so there's not a lot of service interaction. The space is industrial and not the most inviting. More of a grab-and-go spot than a place to hang out. The boba was fine, and I liked the bouncy texture of the golden tapioca pearls. However, there was an unexpected grittiness in my drink, possibly from the cheese foam, though I've never had that issue before. It's still a decent option if I'm in the area, but there are better boba spots nearby!
google avatar

Skye P.

Yelp
Very ok! Default size is small, taro flavor in milk tea was super subtle (they use a powder) and bordered on cereal milk, cream foam was good but they don't have sipping lids. I've only had this one flavor so don't want to knock it too much, this drink was more like a 2 star. But maybe other flavors are better idk!
google avatar

Rebecca J.

Yelp
I thought the boba here was just okay. The tea seemed watered down and the different tea flavors did not really come through. They did have some good promotions at the time though.
google avatar

Naomi J.

Yelp
I think Ding Tea is best known for serving golden boba pearls (4:( stars), mine tasted good as did the honey milk tea (4/5 stars). Every time I've been in the shop as been pretty quiet,
google avatar

Yelp
Got my go to passion fruit green tea again with 25% sugar and 25 ice % for $5.25. Then comes the add-ons: -large +$0.75 -golden boba +$0.75 Subtotal was $6.75. With tax was $7.44. That is definitely a very high price that is difficult to justify. Ding tea is good, not sure it is THAT good to spend the heft amount for a drink. Street parking only.
google avatar

Yelp
Think the selection is awesome and both drinks we got were on point. The milk tea was just right

Yelp
One of my favorite boba spots, I really enjoy any of their fruit green teas, my favourite one is definitely the Mango Green Tea. It's full of deliciousness, fresh, and not super sweet. I'm not a big sweetener person, and they really did well on this drink. The service is quick, simple, and the environment was friendly!

Kaiden C.

Yelp
I got a text for a $5 off for any purchase so I decided to take the trip up with my partner even though I'm recovering from an emergency surgery from last week. I just wanted a drink but the coupon machine wasn't working and they refused to give me the discount. This was incredibly disappointing since I traveled up to U-District for this one purchase. I like Ding Tea and I've had them again but this was a very negative experience. :(
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
You order at the kiosk or talk to a server. They also do point system so rack them Points for free drink! The drinks were good. Service were fast and ambience is Super chill.
google avatar

Yelp
Should have picked a better bubble tea spot out of all the choices in U District. Entered on the whim to satisfy a boba craving, and while the pearls were chewy, the Taro Milk Tea ($5.45) itself was very watery and full of artificial flavoring. The Lychee Yakult ($6.45) was better but also lacking compared to others bubble tea shops. Orders are placed at the kiosk. The interior is a narrow hallway but has seating. Wi-Fi is available.

Yelp
I didn't like Ding Tea when I was first exploring spots at UW, but it's grown on me. I think the biggest thing was understanding their ice levels being different than other spots. Less ice here means 75% so you still get a cup full of ice. However, you get the added option of "slight" ice which is 25%. That's pretty neat, but you need to understand the system or you'll get a drink that waters down quicker than you expect if you order light ice at every boba spot. However, no ice costs you an extra quarter, so that's a bummer. Everyone raves about the golden boba here and it's not offered at every Ding Tea location (looking at you, Lynnwood). Golden boba has increased chewiness compared to regular boba so it's definitely more engaging to chew and the nice thing is that they make pretty good boba here. Ding Tea also uses a fair amount of tea that you can generally taste. It's one of the best spots if you prefer tea flavors over creaminess or milk but it's still a great spot if you prefer more balance or milkiness. My usual go-to is a classic jasmine green milk tea with boba. I don't care for it much here. It's good, but I prefer other spots if I'm sticking with that order. Taro Milk Tea - standard, not too powdery and overall refreshing. Would recommend when you're unsure of what to get. It's a very creamy, nutty, and almost vanilla-like taste. Strawberry Yakult/Yogurt - not the thickest consistency, but you can taste the Yakult. Slightly sweet and fruity, the Yakult blends well with any of the fruit choices for yogurt drinks. It even tastes healthy. Overall, the biggest selling point (and most common thing my friends note) is the golden boba. It's a different texture and chew than regular honey boba or brown sugar boba. The tea is pretty fair and standard, but the boba is what sets Ding Seattle apart, especially with the maintained prices.

Yelp
We had a late lunch early dinner craving milk tea. We love ding tea- Cali transplants, we have it here at home and whenever we are in Cali visiting family. But my review is for the sweetness I was met with today but also the yummy milk tea made well, we don't like it too sweet we asked for less made amazingly! I was waiting for my husband to pick up he got stuck behind a very long light as he circled several times looking for parking. Unfortunately after a few unseemly remarks a homeless man made at me he just thought he why not I'll just grabbed one of the drinks from her. I went back to order another. But they made it on the house. I insisted on paying but they made it anyways. Warm-hearted people makes your day it pays forward to loving kindness. Thanks guys! It was very sweet.

Yelp
drink (5/5): My go-to boba order - Oolong Milk Tea w/ boba (25% sweet and less ice). This is my FAVORITE BOBA SHOP IN SEATTLE! The boba is delicious as it is the perfect consistency to chew. What I like the most about this boba shop is that you actually get hints of tea even in a milk tea. There are some shops that overdo it with the sweetness and mask the tea flavor. Service (5/5): The service is quick and efficient. They now take cash and card (not AMEX or Discover). Parking (3/5): Street parking -- it is sometimes difficult to find street parking so I recommending going with a friend and having one person hop out and getting the drinks. - Please vote below, comment, and like the photos to give me feedback on my reviews - For more reviews and photos, follow my instagram: @nvc.eats

Yelp
The taro milk tea with sea cream was amazing. I've never had anything like this before. I recommend you come here.

Yelp
Nice boba shop near the University of Washington. Today I got the Monster to try a new drink. Very tasty. Service is cordial and efficient.
google avatar

AJ L.

Yelp
In a spot with a lot of solid boba places, Ding Tea is... a solid boba place. The "Monster Boba" special was pretty tasty; the golden boba wasn't really for me but it didn't take away from the experience too bad. Would definitely come back, even if it isn't my favorite spot in the city or on the Ave.
google avatar

Chelsia L.

Yelp
Really disappointed! We got two drinks (taro milk tea & classic) and both of them were really diluted. It almost tasted like they made the 'tea's' with 100% sweetness and then if you asked for anything less, they dilute the mixture (which means the tea taste gets diluted too). Giving it a 2 star cause their bubbles are really chewy.

Yelp
My husband and I came here after getting dessert. There are multiple bubble tea places all along the street, at least 3 or 4 within a 30 second walking distance. We chose Ding Tea since we had never been, and it was right next door. Service was fine, not super friendly but efficient. I appreciate that they ask for your sugar/ice levels. They have a good amount of options, I love that they have a lot of different types of fruit tea. My husband went for a black tea with half sugar and regular ice. I got the strawberry black tea with lychee jelly, half sugar and regular ice. Price wise, it was similar to that of the other bubble tea places. Drinks came out fairly quickly. They were good, enjoyable. My husband and I were satisfied. If we're ever around and had a craving for bubble tea, we would stop by here (and over kung fu tea).
google avatar

Kimmy L.

Yelp
I splurged an extra $0.20 and tried the crystal boba for the first time this past week. It reminded me of lychee jelly without the lychee flavor because of the agar like texture. I got it in a 50% sweet brown sugar milk tea, but I would definitely recommend pairing the crystal boba with a fruity tea or fruity milk tea rather than a sweet milk tea. The golden boba is a much better complement for sweet milk teas like the brown sugar milk tea or jasmine milk tea than the crystal boba. Their service was kind of slow that day, even though there was no line out the door... It took us nearly 20 minutes to get our order, but the tea was as good as usual.
google avatar

Breeze N.

Yelp
Really solid milk tea. They are not as sweet as other places, so a true asian that always gets at most 50% sugar elsewhere chose to get 75% sugar here. And it was PERFECT. Docked a star cuz my friend got the monster boba latte and it was not that great. Just milk and brown sugar golden boba Boring not worth not that great.... it's literally milk + sugar Otherwise it was great! Golden boba always super consistent in texture and at the perfect consistency of chewy soft but not gooey or stiff...YUMMY!!! Only street parking so be ready for parallel parking:) There's seating inside that is more than I expected for such a tiny shop :) still ...giant groups beware

Yelp
Bubbles! Bubbles are a thing this year. It's everywhere. This ones another one on the ave. Parking is a little tricky. There was a line. And a lot of choose from. I always get the same thing. Black tea! Got a monster boba latte with their golden boba. The golden boba was different and delicious. Boba away!
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed in this place. I tried the Hokkaido black milk tea with golden boba and it tasted pretty watered down. I also tried the taro milk tea and it tasted pretty watered down as well. You can barely taste the taro flavor. I usually don't know the difference between different milk tea places so for me to realize this place tastes off says something!
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
Got the monster boba latte and it did not disappoint! I'm glad they were able to adjust the sweetness level (I chose 50% and it was till pretty sweet) as many other places with brown sugar boba could not. The boba was perfect and the drink was delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
After dinner my group of friends and I were actually heading to Kung Fu Tea. I would've been fine with that until I saw a Ding Tea right across the street and gasped out loud! That was one of my go-to boba places in California and I did not know they had a location up here but you can bet I was excited about it! My favorite thing about Ding Tea is probably their crystal boba. I usually just order the signature milk tea but I really am addicted to their crystal boba. It's a little more expensive than their other toppings (75 cents compared to 55 cents) but for me it's definitely worth it. You can decide what sugar level you want (0-100% in increments of 25%) as well as ice level (I usually order my drinks with light ice). Sadly this location is far from me but if I am ever in the area for any reason I will try to stop by to get some more of that crystal boba.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Located in the north end of the Ave. Slightly dark when you go in. Like that you can have the options of sugar and ice levels. Service was quick. Typical boba place, nothing stood out

Yelp
Catching up on Yelp reviews. This is for a visit to Ding Tea Seattle on the upper Ave in the University District on 9/3/18. Again, another refreshing iced milk tea for me and an iced jasmine tea for The Homie. Beverages are customized by amount of ice and percentage of sweetness. Decent counter service. We got our beverages to go, but they were doing brisk business over that sunny Labor Day weekend. It was to their advantage being open when the competition across the street was closed. Nice addition to the UDistrict!
google avatar

Lesly W.

Yelp
I absolutely love Ding Tea! My favorite boba spot used to be Sharetea but I gotta say Ding Tea has wowed me. I would say their drinks taste just as good as Sharetea but Ding Tea tops it for the variety of toppings offered. It's hard to find boba shops that offer crystal boba or golden boba so I always choose the golden boba when I'm here! It has the same texture as regular tapioca but it tastes more sweet and chewy in my opinion. It just pairs really well with any flavor! Also try their popular brown sugar monster latte! It's more on the creamier and milky side if you're not looking for a tea-based drink. My go-to drinks are taro and wintermelon. I prefer 75% sugar and half ice. This boba shop gets busy but they're really prompt and fast with their service!
google avatar

Evelyne K.

Yelp
After trying their jasmine green milk tea, I decided to add one more star for them! The boba is chewy and the milk tea was good. It mixed its tea and cream well. If you're going to buy drinks here, I won't recommend the brown sugar boba tea (it's WAY too sweet) They're also having promotion now (5% off if you pay w cash, free topping for uw students with valid ID)
google avatar

Hanna I.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! Deliciously made bubble tea with various unique flavors, inviting decor, games and super staff!
google avatar

Mimi N.

Yelp
Yayyyy to another boba shop on the ave! :D If anyone is in the mood for something different, I think Ding Tea is worth the visit. Came here for a quick drink and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Things to note: For all the peeps who love the IG with the boba: You must check out the back wall. :) The decor is super cute with good lighting Prices: Average, toppings slightly more but overall, not too bad since the quality is pretty good Wait time: Not too long! Drinks: You do have the ability to adjust your sweet/ice level (which is slowly becoming the norm for all boba places) Drinks Ordered: Wintermelon Green Tea w/ Sea Foam + Egg Pudding and a Chocolate Milk Tea w/ Golden Boba. Verdict: Wintermelon green tea = FANTASTIC with the egg pudding! However, couldn't really taste the sea foam, so will try this again next time. As for the Chocolate Milk Tea, it tasted like standard chocolate but the golden boba was quite chewy, sweet, and soft. Highly recommend trying out the golden boba if you have a chance. Don't forget to get a stamp card! After 10 drinks, you get one for free :)
google avatar

Shelley P.

Yelp
At 50% sugar and 75% ice, my jasmine green milk tea was perfect! They also have golden boba which I had never tried before - and they were the perfect bouncy texture and sweetness. Check out the Subtle Asian Dating profiles on the back bulletin board, cuffing season is here HA

Yelp
Ding Tea Seattle is a new tea house that can be found at University Square, between Cafe O'Dessert & Top Hair Studio. Also located behind the Safeway. Only street parking (fee required) is available. My husband and I decided to stop this afternoon, around 12:50 pm for some tea. After browsing the menu, we ended up ordering: Hot Milk Taro Tea, $3.50 prior to tax- Because this place is currently in their grand opening, small drinks are automatically upgraded for free (also the current Yelp check in provides Yelp members 1 free upgrade). My husband requested that this drink be made with 50% sweetener. Initially, he thought it was watered down (and I have to agree when I tried it). So he explained to an employee of the taste and so she remade it. My husband thought the drink was better, but still left this artificial, chemical taste. I didn't try his drink the 2nd time so I can't comment on it. Hot Hokkaido Black Milk Tea, $3.50 prior to tax- I opted for this drink to be made at 50% sweetener as well. I thought this drink was made fine, but did leave a strong aftertaste of the hokkaido (I would describe as a caramel, strong milk tea flavor), which did not bother me. ----------------------------- (Total= $7.71, after tax) Initially, I ordered a logan tea but was told that they are not able to make it. I was disappointed since that is what I always like to order at Ding Tea (it's a chain) because so few tea houses actually offer it. I wanted to order the lychee milk tea, but that is only made available iced and I wanted a hot drink for the cold rainy day. So I opted for the hokkaido drink (lately my current drink of choice at tea houses). I appreciate that the employee that made our drinks asked us how our drink was and if we wanted to make adjustments, she would be able to do so without any problem. But even with 2 adjustments of trying to redo my husband's drink, I don't think I can give this place anything above 3 stars (but 3 stars still means "A-Ok" people, so don't freak out) and find this particular location to be average. Yes they are brand new and some bugs may still need to be worked out, but for the time being, based on this trip, 3 stars. Please note that there is free WiFi available and the unisex restroom (you have to request for the key) was clean and adquately stocked with the essentials.

Yelp
YES, YES & YUM! Delicious drinks and golden boba is yummy! That's right, this place does not seem to have regular black tapioca Pearl's. They have something called golden boba, which is apparently chewier and a little sweeter because it is made with brown sugar as opposed to regular black boba made from tapioca and soaked in a sugar syrup. Staff is super friendly in explaining anything or answering any questions. Drinks come out quickly and there is plenty of space to hang with people or pull put the books or laptop to take care of some business. They offer the options to select ice levels and sweetness levels. Overall, this is a pretty straight-forward place and I definitely recommend this place as a solid boba place!

Yelp
My favorite boba place thus far! ATMOSPHERE This location is pretty small, but despite this, they have a good amount of seating available. I would advise bringing in a group of 5+ people. It might be hard for you guys to all sit together especially during their busier hours. During the day, it's not as busy so maybe you guys can all sit together. During the night, it can get loud and cramped real fast. I typically just get my drink to-go. WHAT DID I TRY? Their winter melon green milk tea is by far my favorite! I typically get it with their golden boba, less ice, and 100% sweetness. Their boba is cooked so that it's that soft and chewy texture we all want. It's not soggy and it's not hard. The drink itself is full of flavor. Sometimes boba drinks with two flavors, there's always one that overshadows the other, but not with this drink. You can taste both the winter melon and the green tea. I also really like their peach yakult with 100% sweetness, less ice, and golden boba. It tastes like peach calpico! I tried their lychee one too, but it didn't hit the same as the peach one. I found the lychee flavor to be too strong for me. My first ever drink here was their taro milk tea. I really like ShareTea's fresh taro milk tea so I was kinda expecting that flavor, but it tasted watered down and powdery. I was so sad. Their hokkaido oolong milk tea is alright. They said it tastes like toffee, and I see what they meant. I thought I liked toffee, but I guess not, because I did not like this drink. I'll have to try they hokkaido black milk tea instead because it has carmel flavors and I know I like caramel. SERVICE Their service is really minimal, but I haven't had a bad experience with their employees. OVERALL I gave them 4.5 stars because their drinks are super yummy, but their service is the bare minimum.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
I came by here recently and it was good; I think I've been here three or four times. Pretty reasonable prices compared to other bubble tea joints in the area, and the shop itself is always clean and pleasant to be in. It's not my favorite in the University District, but we all have our ambiguous preferences, right? I appreciate how straightforward the ordering process is in terms of customization. It's also really consistent across flavor options - 50% sugar taro is going to the the same sweetness as 50% sugar coffee, for example. The only issue is that it easily gets crowded during peak hours, and it's pretty inevitable that you'll bump into somebody. However, you can definitely tell the employees are working hard and doing their best, and the effort comes through in the overall experience :o)

Yelp
Taiwanese boba tea franchise but owned by Vietnamese here. They are not making real milk teas nor fruits teas. All of there fruit tea are made of artificial flavored syrups, and their milk teas are made of non dairy creamer which contains tons of trans fat. Not to mention the environment is always dirty and crowded and loud. All they wanna do is make most money using the least amount of effort and money. Btw I have tried at least 5 of their items on the menu to write this review update: i was drinking it almost half bottle was done then i felt ssomething in my mouth. There was a huge strands of hair in it.

Yelp
This Ding Tea makes better drinks from the one in Renton & Kent! I'm a big boobs tea enthusiast and my relatives own 2 Ding Teas in Southern California. I was living down there while they open up shop. I've been to probably most of the Ding Teas in SoCal as it was blowing up. I typically get one drink which is the kumquat lemon ice tea. This location makes it right and reminds me how I had it in SoCal. Their sugar level and ice level are accurate and customer service is nice. Cool little spot in the back to sit and chill.

Yelp
This establishment doesn't only serve delicious bubble tea, but also helps their patrons find love. I came here last May while I was visiting Seattle for a conference. I ordered their brown sugar monster latte, which, admittedly was way too sweet. Perhaps I should have adjusted the sweetness, but I couldn't bring myself to finish such a saccharine drink. But for the perfect amount of sweetness, I suggest you head over to the back of the store where you'll find an idyllic little poster board where customers can draw on and post their receipts. Of course, it has turned into sort of an ad hoc dating board, for people to set up their friends. A place to find boba AND love? Ding Tea Seattle fills both our stomachs and our hearts.
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
I got taro milk tea with boba and it was great! Will definitely be back! Wait time was also really short. And I liked how you could pick the ice/sugar levels too.
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
No. There's better milk tea in the world than the one you can find at Ding Tea. THE TEA: I ordered the Signature Milk Tea and it's a watered down, milky mess. I couldn't even tell what type of tea they made the drink from because I couldn't detect it at all. Good milk tea should be able to be both creamy, sweet, and still maintain the depth of the tea it's made with. THE BOBA: The texture is fine. I'm unsure what the "Golden boba" is all about because it tasted very similarly to normal boba you get at other places. OTHER CONS: An extra $0.25 surcharge if you order your drink with "No Ice". There was absolutely no signs anywhere that said there was an extra charge for no ice. Please be TRANSPARENT about the costs.
google avatar

Lydia L.

Yelp
Been here several times - I've tried their regular tea and tea latte, both are good. Highlight is their golden boba - tasty and pretty! If you ask for no ice in the drink they charge extra $0.25.
google avatar

Kamrin P.

Yelp
This place is sooo yummy. The service is so-so, but the boba is delicious. I got the monster boba latte & man it was tastyyy. I recommend adding the cheese foam to it! Parking is difficult here, so best to go with someone so you can hop out and grab a drink if you both aren't able to find any parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Best boba place on the ave!! My go-to order is the oolong honey milk tea, less ice, 50% sugar, with golden boba. It never disappoints. The milk tea has the right amount of sweetness, while the boba actually has a sweet taste to it like mochi (unlike other boba places that taste like nothing). I definitely need to try more flavors, but why reinvent the wheel. I also love the vibe here to hang out with friends. They have a few board games there that make it really fun. Let me tell you, uno gets really intense. I've stayed there for 4 straight hours just playing uno and drinking boba (best combo).

Yelp
How have I not reviewed this place yet despite going probably at least once a week?! I love Ding Tea. It has recently become one of my favorites (sorry to the others). Whenever I come here, I usually get the "Monster Bobo Latte" (That's not a typo either, it's really 'Bobo'). I think other places call it a "Tiger Boba Latte". But seriously, this particular drink is like crack. It's so addictingly delicious! Just be careful if you try to modify the drink - they use a certain ratio for the recipe, so if you ask for less ice, the drink will also appear less as well. OH and, they have one of the best tapioca pearls - no contest. Their pearls are sweet, have a inner caramel taste, and the chew consistency is great as well! The only downside about this place is that I wish they would make smoothies because sometimes when it's REAL hot outside, I'm talking like over 90,000 degrees, I crave a cold smoothie. However, their honey jasmine tea and milk teas are seriously great.

Yelp
Service is fine, the lady that does the cashier is cheerful and attentive. Parking is a pain, since this is in U district, technically the people who loves in the area is their target market The milktea is okay. They do have a good balance of milk and tea and right amount of sweetness. However, if you ever tried the real milk tea from Taiwan, it's hard to give 5 star to any milktea places here in U.S., anyway, given the fact that asian milktea has the most fat on their milk, my baseline is always the price and the quality of milk, I got the signature hot milk tea with boba for $5.12 (with tax) which is pretty fair. But If I am paying $5 for a drink, I am expecting a harvey fresh-taste-like milk, Otherwise, There's nothing fascinating about it. To wrap it up, the drink is okay,But nothing fascinating. This could be your normal go-to milktea place if you live around the area.

Yelp
I don't live here anymore. But everytime I'm here I flex on the losers that have never tasted the tea from the gods. They have received 3 Michelin stars, that means it's a must go in the world. Have a good day and make good decisions.

Yelp
Pretty decent boba along the ave. I've gone here a few times with friends and it's a great place to talk or end a meal with. There's usually going to be a crowd there but I've never had to wait too long to order a drink. The drinks are pretty cheap, but there is a credit card minimum that can be combated if you order with friends on the same card. It is still annoying nonetheless. I've only really ordered one thing: lychee black tea, 50% sugar, less ice, with lychee jelly. The tea base is decent, and the lychee syrup isn't too overpowering, and I always love a good helping of lychee jelly. The interior is a little shabby, but that hasn't stopped me from coming by. Ding tea is a great option to grab boba on the Ave.

Yelp
One of my top 3 boba spots because of their golden boba! So chewy and delicious. I wish the Ave had better parking so I could come often. I love their jasmine milk tea and regular milk teas.
