Great place to grab some edible cookie dough. They have ice cream, too. Very friendly, clean inside, and a cute outdoor area to enjoy a treat.

Worst cookie dough of our lives. Tasted like pure butter. They make it themselves and clearly don’t know how. First cookie dough I ever had that tasted like just churned butter. So ice cream is probably the safest bet since it’s outsourced.

UPDATE 8/12/23: Stopped here tonight with my son who's never been to Dinos. I was disappointed at first because there was no plain peanut butter cookie dough, however, the owner surprised me with some that wasn't out. Best part was the extra scoop she gave me before we left. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! ❤️ Most of the cookie dough flavors were way too sweet for me, but you can never go wrong with chocolate chip and the peanut butter.

What a great place to stop in for a tasty treat! The owners are SO SWEET! They truly have a passion for creating great food and serving their customers. They were so friendly and kind. I loved learning about their business and how they got started. The edible cookie dough and ice cream were terrific! I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Such a cute little place to get some really good ice cream and edible cookie dough! Ran by a nice older couple, I had a lovely time speaking to them and enjoying the ice cream. Great outdoor seating as well as inside. We'll be back!

Did the Christmas lights downtown Rochester tonight and stopped by for desert. Nice selection of cookie dough and ice cream. I don’t know about the price debate going on here, I’ve never purchased cookie dough before, but the food tastes great. Owners were friendly and chatted while we ate. Don’t remember the last time we were in Rochester, but we’ll stop by again, k I’m sure.

My date and I went here instead of the more popular desert destination, Sanders, on Main Street and I was very skeptical to say the least. Frankly it was hot as could be outside that June evening and I just wanted an ice cream treat to cool off with and savor. We walked right past Sanders and for about 1 minute amd arrived at Dino’s. I wasn’t excited to give Dino’s a shot in all honesty. But then we entered Dino’s and it was nothing short of a sanitary, safe and family oriented environment. The staff, an elderly woman and man were super polite, friendly and answered all of our questions. I settled on 2 scoops of Key Lime Pie Ice Cream nestled in a waffle cone after I inquired about it and learned about how it’s made, the company that supplies the limes used to make it, etc. Let me say this: that was possibly the best two scoops of ice cream I have ever had. It was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Two scoops of Heaven in a waffle cone! WOW! If you like key lime pie you are going to love the Key Lime Pie ice cream Dino’s serves. If you don’t, then you don’t know what authentic key lime pie is supposed to taste like. I will be back for more of the same every time I’m in downtown Rochester because it was unequivocally delicious. My date enjoyed a single scoop of cookie dough snuggled below a single scoop of coffee flavored ice cream, which she devoured and she is only 99 1/2 lbs and hardly eats anything. I tasted hers, too, and it was outstanding. My initial trepidation passing up Sanders in lieu of walking into the unknown Dino’s Cookie Dough Bar was short lived, to say the least. This is the kind of place where you probably can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. Great value as well. I would like to personally thank Dino’s Cookie Dough Bar for providing my date and I with the perfect summer treat to cap off an excellent summer evening adventure together in Downtown Rochester. Thanks again! Check it out neighbors!

The owners are so wonderful and take great pride in their cookie dough. Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Came here for the first time recently, and we were instantly greeted by extremely friendly staff who gave us some background on the cookie dough and ice cream. There were a variety of flavors for cookie dough which are all homemade. Additionally, all the ice cream is from Wisconsin which, i did not know, is the ice cream state. Had one scoop of cookie dough and one scoop of ice cream, and both were very rich in flavor. Definitely perfect for those with a sweet tooth, but it can be too sweet for some. It will be worth a visit to check out the cookie dough and ice cream

Yelp
Buyer beware. Find it hard to believe it's possible to mess up cookie dough but this place can and did. Both cookie doughs we bought tasted like nothing but churned butter. If I wanted to eat a stick of butter I would have just bought a stick of butter. Beyond disappointed.

Yelp
This place used to be Dino's Coney Island & I heard that the owners were looking to switch things up, so rebranded, remodeled, & reopened as a cookie dough bar! Such innovation :) I've been meaning to try this place for years now, because I really love cookie dough, and I can't believe it took me this long to finally try it! The concept is just delightful, albeit probably a bit too modern for downtown Rochester's overall vibes, but regardless - I thoroughly enjoyed it! They have so many varieties of cookie dough options, more than I thought existed, & operate the same way an ice cream shop would. You pick your flavors & how many scoops you want & they scoop it all up and package it for you! Keep in mind though that one scoop of cookie dough is way more dense & rich than a scoop of ice cream is, so if you can't handle your sweets like I can't & just unfortunately have a much smaller sweet tooth than you wish you did, I'd recommend going for the kids cup. I made the mistake of ordering a normal scoop of cookie dough and barely made it halfway before I had to quit because my throat was burning from the overwhelming sweetness! Obviously, it's nice because - unlike ice cream - you can pop this into the fridge when you get home and finish it the following day as well, so it doesn't go to waste :) But I would say plan for getting less than you'd normally expect yourself to eat because it overwhelms the palette much quicker than you'd expect! BONUS: There's still a little walk up window at the back of the shop where you can order your breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner coney island cravings, which I think is so smart! :)

Yelp
Love the cookie dough choices (and the taste) and the ice cream is super creamy yummy. One of each is a great combo. A bit pricey ($7 for two scoops)

Andy L.

Yelp
I thought the cookie dough here was delicious. I was very impressed that they offered both keto and vegan cookie dough options and were willing to educate people regarding the keto diet. I would for sure come back to try again.

Yelp
Great concept for a decadent dessert. The cookie dough is delicious and fills that desire for something sweet after a good dinner. I chose to give this place three stars for a few reasons: the overall customer experience is not awesome. We've been there twice and both times left feeling meh. The cashier was less than friendly and seemed overworked or stressed. The cleanliness is not the greatest even though it's a brand new place. Lastly, the line was out the door both times that we visited. Not a good flow to the way it's laid out. Update: I have visited several times since my last review in hopes to like this place. Every time I have gone in I seem to experience major attitude issues from the workers, particularly the one with pink hair. And it seems like it's not just to me but to other customers as well, as if it's an inconvenience to place an order.

Holly S.

Yelp
They have some of the best cookie dough ever! We got four scoops in total and my favorite by far was the coconut cream cheese dough! It tasted like a raffaello if you've ever had one of those before! The peanut butter, and the classic choc chip were all very good too. Pretty obsessed with this concept and hope more places catch on to it. It's superrrrr sweet though so a couple of bites and you'll be satisfied. The owner told me he uses ultra pasteurized eggs and heat treated flour to keep us safe which I thought was interesting. Most places leave the egg out but I wasn't worried about that. Overall fun concept and a great addition to downtown rochester!

Sydni P.

Yelp
Highly recommend. This edible cookie dough is much better then other edible cookie dough that I have tried. I thought the cookie dough paired with the ice cream was a perfect treat. We had very friendly service (she was also very helpful since I was a first timer). Will definitely be back to try other flavors.

Lucy G.

Yelp
My daughter has been wanting to try this place, The PB cookie dough was a lot better then the funfetti, overall kind of buttery taste to both. The funfetti tasted like butter with sugar...kids were not impressed and didn't finish the little scoop they got. The staff was nice, place was clean inside.

Yelp
So I want to start this review with making a clam that I have never actually been a customer here and this review does not pertain to the actual quality of the product but instead pertains to the customer service received by the owner. I am new to the rochester area since I don't live in the area. Myself and a friend decided to take a fun bike ride on the painted creek trail to downtown Rochester to get some sanders chocolate. Once we got to Rochester we had to look for a place to store our bike (a bike rake) and we found one next to Dino's. After we got back from getting our sanders, we went back to the bike rack and we were met by the owner. The owner very quickly explained that this was his bike rack and that it was very rude of us to use it and then go to a different establishment. Now in the owners defence, we were in the wrong and was using his bike rack that was intended to be used by his customers but this was a accident. For this reason I said I was very sorry and then I explained we honestly didn't know and thought it was just another city bike rack just like all the other green city racks that looked just like it. I wanted to explain to him that there was no bad intentions on our end and that we would be more then happy to come into the store and make a purchase to make-up our wrong doing but instead of hearing us out, he decided to ironically be rude himself and blow off our apology for our mistake and shut/locked the door behind him after calling us rude yet again and turning his back. Not a great way to handle interactions with the public who would have been more then happy to frequent his establishment. Unfortunate to say that I probably won't be coming into Dino's after this interaction if this is how the owner wishes to Portray his establishment to the public. I would like to welcome the owner to contact me to hear me out so I can appropriately say sorry. Contact me at zden.review@gmail.com if you wish. Thank you.

Yelp
My wife and two daughters visited Dino's today. The name was intriguing so we stopped in on a 22 degree winter night. Once in the store, we surveyed the flavors, they looked good so we ordered it up. I had the Monster cookie dough with the mint ice cream and it exceeded my expectations. The cookie dough was soft and with the ice cream it reminded me of a Girl Scout cookie: Thin Mint. We all enjoyed our treat and I recommend Dino's!

Jessica P.

Yelp
I've been to Dino's several times since they opened. The cookie dough is just okay. I thought the texture was strange (kind of whipped?) and one time it was very salty. I've followed Dino's on Facebook since long before they opened and seeing the owner's interactions with customers there is a huge turn off and doesn't make me want to come back. Any time the place gets a negative review, he feels the need to very publicly defend himself instead of trying to make it right for the customer. I no longer work in Rochester and I wouldn't go out of my way to go there now.

Ashley F.

Yelp
A welcoming staff and delicious treats await at Dino's. Samples are offered and the hardest part is choosing which one is better! I decided on white chocolate cookie dough and a scoop of banana ice cream. It created the perfect "banana bread" flavor. I loved this place and highly recommended!

Nick O.

Yelp
It's a unique concept that could be done better. The product itself is incredibly sweet. Almost too sweet, beyond enjoyment. I had the sugar cookie dough with birthday cake ice cream. It tasted fine, again just way too sweet. Honestly the worst part of the place is the owner. He's not friendly at all. Very disinterested and rude. You can tell he's pinching pennies. The atmosphere sucks, no music playing overhead or at the very least, a water fountain. I don't foresee this place lasting for more than a year. It's too It's too bad because we were very excited for it to finally open up.

C R.

Yelp
Let's just start with the good. It's very cute, modern and extremely clean. Staff was helpful and nice. Appropriate temperature indoors and a large variety of flavors of both cookie doughs and ice creams. A cookie dough bar is a new concept around here and I applaud them for doing something different. It was also well executed, cookie doughs tasted like cookie dough. The misses and areas they could easily improve on: - Offer more than one taster - most places 2 or 3 - Play some holiday/coffee house kind of music - we felt like we needed to whisper - Have a water machine with little cups - Sell milk - duh?! - There was no parking other than street but was not difficult to find a spot

Julia L.

Yelp
Went in with two friends last night. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I tried two flavors then decided on two scoops- one of snickers and one of monster. Dough was not gritty or heavy - very flavorful and perfect texture. We will be back!

Erin A.

Yelp
Dino's is a welcome change to downtown Rochester's dessert/snack offerings. The store is very cute and the staff is super helpful. They carry several different flavors of cookie dough and ice cream, as well. They also have toppings, both cold and hot, if you desire that. I ordered a single scoop of the Monster cookie dough. You can order more than one scoop, but I will warn you, the cookie dough is very rich. If you haven't had a Monster cookie before, the dough consists of peanut butter cookie dough, M&Ms, chocolate chips, and oats. My husband had a scoop of English Toffee dough and my son had a scoop of Ashby's Superman ice cream. Both doughs were a hit and my son topped his ice cream with gummy worms. Warning: this place is busy, but the staff keeps the line moving. We spent about $10 for all 3, which didn't seem crazy.

Brittany H.

Yelp
I love the concept of cookie dough opposed to gelato, frozen yogurt, or ice cream. Especially being lactose intolerant, this is sooo much easier to tolerate. I ordered the white chocolate coconut and oh my, it was so good! Can't wait to be back to try new flavors.

Real A.

Yelp
What a fun concept! The cookie dough was smooth, sweet, and delicious. I only got one scoop and it was enough for me. They also have keto-friendly options for those of you on the Keto diet. The only disappointment is finding where to park as the place next door (on the corner) has signs stating that the parking is for their customers only. In the congested area, just park curbside, pay under a $1 for parking and head in. Don't stress over finding a lot to park in.

Diana R.

Yelp
Make sure to try the Monster. Best enjoyed with a scoop of ice cream and a scoop of cookie dough. I recommend Monster cookie dough and Peanut Butter Mudslide ice cream.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I am a very picky eater and not a huge fan of chocolate so I really wanted to try a sample of the flavor I wanted before I spent a ridiculous amount of money on something I was going to hate. They had already scooped my boyfriends order but refused to let me try a sample. Even though it was very clear I was going to be a paying customer. I was very disappointed in the customer service and the price for what you're actually getting.

David C.

Yelp
Probably should not come here because this is the most addictive dessert I have ever had. The cookie dough is amazing and location is great!

Holly K.

Yelp
I would love to give this a better review, but unfortunately they were not open during their posted hours (as posted on yelp and google). My husband and I were eager to try the cookie dough tonight on our date night but as we walked in around 8:25ish on a Friday evening we were informed that they were closed. Even though the posted hours online stated they were still open, the door was unlocked and there were people in the shop. Maybe someday I'll be able to rate this for the cookie quality, unfortunately tonight we were left wanting and disappointed.

Cody K.

Yelp
I don't have any complaints this place is awesome I always take my nieces and nephews

Kristin B.

Yelp
I love coming to Dino's after a dinner out in Downtown Rochester. They have tasty flavors that hit my cookie dough craving and ice cream for those who don't want to eat cookie dough. There isn't a lot of seating in the shop, so I wouldn't recommend it for larger groups. It can get quite busy during peak times--I've seen lines out the door before.

Zack M.

Yelp
Excellent across the board. Awesome flavors. Dino's a cool guy, too! 10/10 would recommend. Check it out!

Mike D.

Yelp
My wife and I have come in several times since this shop opened. We loved coming here because it was one of the few places that we could get a sweet treat that fit our keto/low carb lifestyle. Since they changed there hours to close at 8 instead of 9, it has been hard for us to make it in. Today we arrived about minutes before close, and even though the door was open, I was turned away being told that I was "too late, were already closed." I was never even asked if I was carrying out, just a "sorry, bye". I've work in both restaurants, and grocery stores, never would I have been allowed to turn away a paying customer, even at time if they came in AFTER close. I'm honestly unsure if I will be returning at this point.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Nope. I had a feeling it would be gross but I had to check the place out. The cookie dough was gritty and left a bad aftertaste. My husband and I each had a small single scoop, my husband added a single scoop of ice cream. I had a drizzle of hot fudge and it cost us $10! I felt that was too much. The hand scoop Ashby's ice cream was a nice surprise so I may go back for that one day, but definitely will not go for the dough.

Kelly C.

Yelp
Fantastic place for a date or family night! Highly recommend! Their double chocolate cookie dough is my fav!!!! So good!

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Fun concept, but the cookie dough is not a consistency I like. It is a bit thinner than homemade cookie dough tasting like lots of Crisco in the batter. I give 3 stars because everyone has to try it at least once. One hit wonder.

Stefan C.

Yelp
I came to this place while visiting some friends because it's cookie dough! I have to say I was impressed because they offer ice cream as well. The hardest part will be which combination to choose. Obviously it's very sweet so this might not be for everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed mine however, and if you're ever in the area you should definitely give it a try.

Samantha S.

Yelp
The concept and cookie dough is amazing but the customer service is terrible. I have gone back three times because we love the cookie dough. However, they only allow you one sample of cookie dough and no samples of ice cream. The people are never friendly or nice and always negative towards customers. So sad, I hope someone else opens up a cookie dough bar!

Heather W.

Yelp
What could be better than cookie dough and ice cream! It's a scoop (or two) of heaven here. I was boring and got the traditional chocolate chip dough and puppy chow ice cream but it was fabulous. There are so many varieties to choose from. I'll venture out when I come back. We met one of the owners and he was very friendly. He even let my family and sister see the kitchen (which was spotlessly clean). A must go to place!

Chris L.

Yelp
Great place to go with friends and get some edible cookie dough. Such a cool concept. I had the cookie dough and it was amazing. Just like licking the bowl at home!

Samantha B.

Yelp
If you love cookie dough this is the place for you!! It's amazing that they make all their doughs in house. You can see the giant mixers in the back window. I've been twice now and I won't lie the first time coming I wasn't as impressed, and I decided it was pry my dough choice so I went back and was so happy I gave it another try. The double chocolate is definitely were it is at!! Another amazing bonus to this place is they have Ashby's ice cream which is the best! The place is also decorated super cute and it's very clean and just a great concept. Bring any kid here and I guarantee they will be so happy! I love supporting local and I'm excited to come back and try more flavors!

Alisha C.

Yelp
Delicious cookie dough, it's definitely a treat! Love all the flavors and that they have vegan and Keto options!! My interactions with the staff and owner have always been great! They were super helpful and nice.

Rachel F.

Yelp
I really enjoy this place! A huge variety of flavors for a reasonable price. And the taste is great!

Thomas H.

Yelp
My sisterinlaw said this place was good last time she went and the school gave us extra coupons so we were gonna make a thing out of it. They only gave us 2 extra so my brother and sisterinlaw wanted to go and I wanted to try it out and planned to buy one for myself. When my sisterinlaw showed them the coupons they said that they were supposed to be for the kids only and came off very rude. I wasn't that interested in the place to begin with so and I've walked out for less. I left a review on Google and Dino just accused us of wanting free stuff and who doesnt but by being unwilling to take that hit he lost potential return customers which is crazy to me. He ruined our evening and I would never recommend this place, if you got a coupon it's just so they can get your kids to rope you into going there. This guy is just plain rude.

Casey C.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Cookie dough is delicious and there are many different flavors to choose from. The staff was really nice too!

Juliana M.

Yelp
Went out to the bar on a Saturday night. Cookie dough bar that is. The decor is bright, modern and colorful. The space was clean and well staffed. They have ice cream and cookie dough available by the scoop. We tried monster cookie dough and butterfinger. Monster had a lot going on and was tasty. I think you either like to eat cookie dough or don't. I prefer ice cream. Would maybe have liked the dough better if it were served cooler. They were packed the night we went but service was efficient. Hope they do well as it is quite the flip from an old greek diner. They had seating inside and outside. I did not think they were bad in any way, i just personally don't care for dough.

Beth W.

Yelp
This is a fun place! However bring your wallet because it is not cheap. One scoop cost $3 they do allow you to try to different flavors before you make your final decision. They also have Ashby's ice cream which is also very tasty! You can add on toppings for an extra quarter at the end if you so desire. My husband enjoys the monster flavored cookie dough and I enjoyed the Funfetti. It is tasty and worth a try especially if you're in the mood for a unique sweet treat!

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
This place is super cute and has good dessert however all of that is cancelled out because when you walk in the door it smells like an ashtray. It is unappealing for a good establishment.

Brittany W.

Yelp
Yummy food great experience clean establishment very reasonably priced hard to get to but overall wonderful

Alison D.

Yelp
What a neat place!! Kids (especially my 13 year old) loved the cookie dough mixed with ice cream. I enjoyed the Keto friendly cacao chip dough!! I wish this place tons of success, very neat!

Mari H.

Yelp
What a fun concept! I enjoyed some cookie dough here while visiting from out of state. I had the monster cookie dough, which was great. The other flavors were tempting as well. The staff was not extremely friendly, and when mentioned that it was our first time visiting and asked how it worked, they were not very helpful. One staff member seemed much more interested in chatting with her friend who was there than helping customers.

Rachel S.

Yelp
The cookie dough is amazingly delicious!!! The 2 times I've been there the owner was also there. He couldn't be bothered to even say hi.....SMH. You are a new business you better be kind to your customers......just saying.

Erica A.

Yelp
Dino's has amazing cookie dough, ice cream, service, and a great atmosphere. Great for all ages, kid friendly, and all around awesome! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Kim W.

Yelp
Closes before posted time several times we've checked. Stopped giving samples so you are risking several dollars each time to try something. Obviously they don't trust their customers because other people abuse the system. Although they still say they do. Customer service quick but unhelpful. Dough was good but for be tiny servings I'll risk making my own.

Dennis R.

Yelp
Tried a couple of cookie dough flavors and thought they were marginal- didn't taste anything like cookie dough. Won't be back.
