Run by the Grisanti family since 1973, this Midtown standby serves Italian‑American comfort—meatballs, baked pastas, tiramisu—and weekly all‑you‑can‑eat spaghetti nights. A low‑key local favorite with deep Memphis roots.

This family-owned Italian gem has been a local favorite for years. It’s not trendy or flashy—just a cozy, old-school eatery with a welcoming vibe. We kicked things off with ravioli and mozzarella sticks, both classic and satisfying. If you’re visiting on a Thursday, be prepared for a crowd—their all-you-can-eat spaghetti deal is a big draw (and they don’t take reservations that day). I went for the spaghetti with meatballs, which felt like a warm, home-cooked meal—simple, comforting, and no-frills. For dessert, we sampled the tiramisu, cannoli, and key lime cake. They were decent but didn’t quite steal the show.

No wait to sit down. Waiter advised find a seat and she came right on. I ordered the Italian sausage with spaghetti on the side. I thought I was getting one sausage but they gave me two. Sausages were both split and had sauce on stop. I thought they were gonna be naked but I didn’t know. Sausage was a little salty but it is an Italian sausage. Spaghetti was cooked nicely. Wished I had more. I’m gonna try the spaghetti and meatballs next time. Or a sandwich. Prices are $2 more than advertised but what hasn’t went up. Parking is scarce as well. Everyone was nice.

Man, I love Dino's. It's such a wonderful Italian spot that feels so far removed from modern trends and tacky, Instagram-friendly decor. Just good food served by good people. I recently rented out their side room for my wedding rehearsal dinner and I couldn't be happier. They were incredibly easy to work with and the food, as always, was delicious. Our guests loved it. The ravioli was the talk of the night!

Google
Our server was great no complaints, but the food I think my chicken parm was refried twice and topped with salty sauce to probably try and cover the dryness lol , the over cooked noodles were mush, and the chicken Philly was so tasteless! Again server was great but food was just trash !

Google
Very quaint little spot. I tried the veal with stuffed ravioli, and it was okay, a bit bland but filling. I finished my plate, so the serving was adequate. My companion ordered the pizza, so I also tried it. It was pretty good. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust was perfect. The owner was very nice. I'd recommend giving them a try.

Google
We adore this place. It's the perfect restaurant to come to with the family after you're nice and tired from the zoo. Wait staff is friendly, booths are comfy, environment is very relaxed. All the food is great (we've mostly stuck with Italian, and never been disappointed). We're just gonna keep coming back. A hidden gem for sure.

Google
So I want to start off by saying that my mestball sub was excellent. I can tell the meatballs and sauce are made from scratch (I'm an Italian originally from NY). However, my husband ordered the turkey club and the amount of meat on the sandwich was equivalent to what I'd make for a small child. I attached a photo so you can see what I mean. There was more tomatoes on the sandwich than meat. The food itself does taste great and this review is in no way putting down the actual food itself; we were just bummed that the portion was so small for the turkey club.

Google
It was difficult to get through with a car seat so I don't think it's very wheelchair friendly. Bathrooms are extremely tiny so I wasn't able to change my son; think washroom size. But our server was friendly and the food was pretty good

Yelp
AAA+++ Dino's never disappoints! Delicious, generous portions, and hopefully maintaining their prices.

Yelp
Another great meal at Dino's again. Just one of my favorite places in Memphis. Great food, great service, affordable ... and you feel like you stepped back in time in this Italian family diner. A hidden gem that's been here for decades

Yelp
I have been eating in memphis resturants since i was a child in the 60's and so far anything the grisanti name has been ascociated with has been worth the price. Bill S. haven't been here yet but i will ****

Yelp
Neighborhood establishment that wears its age with grace. It isn't much to look at but you're not there for the ambiance. Seat yourself but staff is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious and portions are enormous. Worth a visit.

Yelp
50 years of consistently good food. Fed me through college and beyond. No longer all that convenient for me, but I'll still make a run and pick up a few things.

Yelp
Dino's has been a favorite place to eat for a long time. I've been eating here since the early 70's. The food is great. Great Italian food. Best Toasted Ravioli anywhere. Not to the manager; please put more effort in to making the dining area look cleaner. Don't like seeing old food stuck to the walls or on wall art when you're sitting in a booth to eat. Just saying..... Otherwise I love Dino's and recommend it.

Yelp
This is a very atmospheric, neighborhood joint. I would recommend the chicken parmigiana, their ravioli (chicken & spinach), as well as the Italian meat sauce (gravy, made with celery, and other vintage ingredients). Their combination options make for a good deal. The prices are very reasonable. The homemade tiramisu is also delicious. Most everything in this restaurant is made from scratch, and tasty. I don't recommend the Italian sausage, as they prepare them in a manner that chars them to the point of being burnt black (yuck). The service was generally attentive and unhurried. I was especially lucky to speak with the owner as I paid at the register next to the front entrance. He's a really nice guy, and should be proud of his family's continued culinary tradition. Moreover, when I'm in the Memphis Zoo neighborhood again, I will definitely consider returning to try their other meal offerings. (The meatballs are calling to me!)

Yelp
A hidden gem. First time here. Dino's is located right in the neighborhood cross street of McLean and Tutwiler. Parking is very limited on street and there maybe parking at nearby store. Once inside the restaurant it has that comfortable neighborhood mom & pop feel. Nostalgic movie posters and photos are the decor. Plenty of seating for both sides of the restaurant. I found the ceiling tiles interesting and remanence of my old house. The menu has plenty to choose from and a nice selection of desserts. I ordered the spaghetti and ravioli half and half which was delicious. A friend ordered the Italian sausage spaghetti which was equally tasty. Sweet tea was perfect. Not too sweet. I ordered bruschetta and the limoncello dessert to take home. Customer service was excellent. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. The bathrooms are located way in the back and be warned that they are definitely on the small side. Before you leave you must visit the next room a view the military collection. We struck up a conversation with the guy sitting back there (not sure if he was the owner) but the collection on the wall was his. It was great to hear about the items and his collection from the various wars. If you want a nice Italian meal with a nostalgia feel and a bit of military history this is the place.

Yelp
Can't beat the sauce. Sooo good. Love the atmosphere too. Fantastic service. Plate lunch is great but honestly never had anything not outstanding. Leave room for dessert.

Yelp
Great family friendly old school Italian restaurant! The food is wonderful & the service is excellent. If you're in the mood for some comfort food for lunch or dinner~ go here or get it to go! Highly recommend this hidden gem in midtown Memphis. A++

Buddy D.

Yelp
Not a fancy place but great food. Been eating there for years. Always great. Besides the house made ravioli they have a great muffaletta.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Quiet little place in the heart of town. Not fancy, not fast food just good home cooking.

Katheryn B.

Yelp
I've never had ravioli this good! Chicken, spinach and cheese ravioli along side my chicken Parmesan. I told my server I was hungry and she didn't steer me in the wrong direction on what to order. My lunch/dinner was delicious!
google avatar

Landon G.

Yelp
The pesto Alfredo was very good, but I wish it had a little more chicken on it for the price of adding chicken. The waitress was great but coworkers were very talkative, and she became inattentive to our table. (Completely missed the appetizer of toasted ravioli we ordered) Those are the only 3 reasons for 4/5. However - we will be back! I understand the atmosphere of a "mom and pop" restaurant can vary from time to time.

Yelp
Celebrating my 70th birthday with about 25 family members and was blown away about how good the food was and the service with 25 members of my family in attendance. There's no better Italian food in Memphis than what you can get at Dino's Grill. A old fashion family restaurant with many generations of family involved through the years. The meat sauce "gravy" is second to none and spaghetti and meatballs or Italian sausage is to die for. My wife loves the eggplant or chicken parmigiana and toasted raviolis as the best in town. The waitress was very attentive and took and served our meal expeditiously well. Rudy and Mario Grisanti did a great job accommodating our party of 25 and even put together a special menu for us at a great value. Appetizers, salads and entrees including garlic bread and fountain drinks or tea cost us about $22/each and it was more food than one person could eat. This place deserves two thumbs up!

Angie W.

Yelp
The food was the best. Very timely service. Appreciated the Italian ambiance. Planning on using them to cater the Ladies Italian American Civic League Quarterly meeting this month.

Yelp
First time here. My buddy, a Memphis native, brought me here for some spaghetti the night before a race. The place is awesome. Great food, friendly, fast service. And an awesome price. You should definitely get the toasted ravioli. Wow. The history in the place is just amazing. Apparently, one of the old WWII uniforms hanging there belonged to my buddy's grandfather. This place is a gem. Worth the trip.

Yelp
was lured here by the Thursday all you can eat spaghetti advertised on the dinos website for $9.00. I've never eaten here before so i thought i'd give it a try. it's not $9 it's $11.75 when i looked at menu. i ordered just regular plate of spaghetti and meatballs with meatsauce and a pepsi. right off the bat the pepsi had a fruity chemical taste so i traded for sweet tea and tea was ok to drink. when i received the spaghetti it was cold and no meat in the meatsauce. pretty tasteless. i ate it anyway without complaint. the garlic bread was good and fresh but barley any garlic on it. for the $20 price with tip i was still hungry when i left so i give it a 2 stars. parking situation is not ideal. i parked in the back and had feelings of not being safe. if i knew what style of pizza dino serves i would possibly come back one day and try it.

Yelp
A family owned old school Italian. Got basic spaghetti .. and it was good . Going back to try others .
google avatar

Emilee D.

Yelp
The food was phenomenal and for a great price! I got the spaghetti and meatballs and it tasted like coming home and eating a big plate of spaghetti that my mom cooked. My husband got the lasagna and said it was excellent. We got the tiramisu even though we were both full and it was out of this world and worth every bite!

Teresa H.

Yelp
The tamales and muffuletta sandwich was delicious. We also got two canola's to go. We will be back!!!

Mark M.

Yelp
Great food, tiramisu was the best I have ever had. Old school. Service was friendly and food came out quick. Will definitely be back again.

Yelp
generations...a pandemic and Dino's is still going strong! Lunch today after church was great...a window seat to watch it snow, a delightful waitress named Grace, great lunch partner to break bread and share conversation, great booth at the window and the Muffuletta sandwich...OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! ...but ordering a half is HUGE....people be warned (in a good way)...LOL. I cannot wait to go back and try more menu items. Next stop...the homemade ravioli. A p.s....The adjoining room is home to amazing familia and WWIi memorabelia...if you have time to linger...check it out. DINO'S is the real deal!

Pam R.

Yelp
Good service and delicious food. I recommend the Eggplant Polenta Torta. Mmmm. Delicious and definitely will get when I go there again. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!! For dessert a must have is the peach cobbler made by Dino himself!

Sarah C.

Yelp
We found this great restaurant on the way through Memphis. We were traveling on I40, quick and easy to get to and get back on the highway. Great food and prices, good service and very friendly. Home-made ravioli was really good, we also had pesto pasta, spaghetti and veal parmigiana. The marinara with meat was a great sauce.

Kristin H.

Yelp
We paid our first visit to Dino's. My husband got the stuffed shells and ravioli meal, and I got the chicken pesto alfredo plate. We sampled each other's food, and while we liked it all, the stuffed shells were our favorite. The homemade meat sauce was chef's kiss. I also enjoyed their tiramisu.

Yelp
I may have been a little harsh on my previous review. Not much, but maybe just a bit. This is one of the oldest restaurants in Memphis and is a vital part of our city and its history. It's now the third generation. I did talk with Rudy for a minute after my meal and I was born the year he started this location. I do remember coming as a kid with my parents. I can't imagine what it would be like being stuck in the same building all those years doing the same thing every day. It takes a lot of work to stay open that long and I'm sure I'd get burned out. I'd never last this long. I was really wanting some lasagna, but I can have that every day. They are doing a meat and three deal, and offer different choices for each day. Wednesday is fried chicken, so I decided to do that not knowing what day my next visit will be. That fried chicken was nothing short of incredible. The skin and the breading really made it good. The pintos weren't special, but the stuffed potatoes and creamed corn were. And this time my partner and I were offered three breads, of which I only ate the cornbread. It's not iron skillet cornbread but it was good. Portion sizes were what I would expect for an adult and I ate every bit. I hope they know they ruined my dinner later that night. Some of the prices of the menu items are a tad bit high, but the daily special was very reasonable for what I got. I guess I had partly forgot about this place and haven't been in a while. I'll try not to let that happen again. I'm impressed by what I ate yesterday. Thanks guys.

Yelp
The restaurant is like a secret hideaway!! The tiramisu was amazing!!You must try it!
google avatar

Yelp
No frills, old school delicious Italian. The spaghetti and ravioli were really good. The veal parm was a HUGE portion. My only advice would be to play music or something. It's so quiet you can hear everyone chewing.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Dino's was a "ok" experience. The service was ok, food was pretty good... it wasn't a memorable experience but it wasn't a bad one either. I would eat at Dino's again, if they were one block from me and I could walk. But wouldn't rate a drive with Memphis traffic to dine there again

Aaron P.

Yelp
I have been to Dinos a few times over the years always satisfied!I usually get a plate lunch.I ordered once again from the lunch menu.Looked over my shoulder at a Gentleman being served a Mega plate of Spahetti and Meatballs and garlic toast.Called waiter to ask is it to late to cancel and order the aforementioned. They said not too late and shortly there after I rec'd my piping hot glorious Spaghetti and Meatballs. The spices were right on the edge of salt spice and heat.A master piece of tummy sensations. The next customer to enter said I'm having what he's having.Everyone around started laughing in unison and agreement. That day turned into Spaghetti and Meatballs for all! You can pay more somewhere else and after Dino's you will never be satisfied. BLESS DINO'S and may there doors never close!!

Ashley J.

Yelp
This restaurant had casual atmosphere that was perfect for groups and/or children. The service was great and the food came out quick. It was very reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Delicious food and attentive service. We haven't been to Dino's Grill since we moved out of town in the 90's. So glad it is still open and run impeccably by the same owners. In an age where new restaurants filled with stainless steel, faux tile and employees that wish they weren't there abound in any town it is a rare treat to walk into a historic, beautiful establishment with timeless architecture and servers that are attentive, informative, friendly and knowledgeable. Please stay the way you are, Dinos! Memphis needs you and so do we. Thanks
google avatar

Diana D.

Yelp
Great spaghetti and Italian sausage and Italian salad. Wish they would open one out East.

Yelp
So I just found out about this place pre-COVID days.. The owners are so out of this world nice. Will talk to You like your part of the family, the employees are always so friendly and willing to help make your experience as perfect as they can make it, and the food.. the food is.. hold on let me stop drooling! The food is so yummy! Italian is my favorite and this has got to be the best old fashioned Italian restaurants in Memphis. My favorite night is the all you can eat Spag and your choice of sauce.. don't leave with out the best banana pudding in Memphis!! Most definitely Top 3 of my favorite restaurants in Memphis!

Yelp
We are new to the neighborhood and tried Dino's for lunch today. We really enjoyed it. My husband had the daily lunch special, chicken livers and I had the daily lunch soecisl, meatloaf, both were very good. I'm looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
What a memorable experience we had tonight at Dino's. Baked ravioli is one dish I plan to replicate when we get back to Florida. Veal parmesan was tender and delicious. The modified eggplant polenta was spot on as well. I chose it over pasta instead. Ended our dinner with perfectly made tiramisu. Amanda is personable and willing to please. The entire staff appears to be hard working and professional. Enjoyed a chat with the Chef on the way out. If we ever come back to Memphis, this will be one place we will visit again.

Jonathan T.

Yelp
My wife and I ate at Dino's early Friday evening, 9/2/23. It's very easy to see why this small restaurant has been a local mainstay for decades. The service was prompt and friendly and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we received. We had a toasted ravioli appetizer (containing cheese and spinach). My wife had a half muffuletta, which would have served two people, and I had a plate of fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and an a la carte side of Italian spinach. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and tasty and the spinach was wonderful. My meal also came with a side of garlic toast. I've lived here all my life but have never eaten at Dino's and I'm so glad I finally have. We will be back.

Yelp
Everything was great but there was a rogue Diet Dr Pepper. Food is always great and service friendly! If you are extra nice you get crackers too!
google avatar

Yelp
Have known Rudy Grisanti since 1960's. Excellent host and chef. Best Italian food I have ever had and I am 1/2 Italian. Daily specials are all excellent also and everything priced very reasonable. Will be there this week.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Dino's Grill for our impromptu anniversary trip to Memphis. Upon walking in, you can tell that Dino's Grill is a great family spot. Our waitress, Amanda, was quick to greet us and take our drink order. We ordered the Bruschetta for an appetizer, the pesto was very flavorful! For dinner, we shared an Italian house salad and each got a different entree each. For him, he got Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti on the side and for me, I got the Stuffed Jumbo Shells with ravioli on the side. Both of our dishes were robust in flavor from the gravy to the filling of the shells. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu..one of my personal favorite desserts. It was prepared perfectly and was very delicious. They were very prompt with waiting times in between dishes, as well. We will definitely be back in the future! Thank you!!

Yelp
Looking for a nice local spot , Dino's is it . They offer meat & 3, italian cuisine and southern hospitality . We enjoyed a huge lovely Lasagna, a flavorful chicken parmigiana , homemade chicken & dumplings, yum ! Variety of daily veggies with southern flare . Finished off with , oh yes, peach cobbler wow! What a treat

Yelp
Great Italian food spot. Hidden gem. Everything my sister and friend got was good. Great prices, fast service. We enjoyed our time there!

Betty F.

Yelp
My family and I recently ate at Dino's. We have not eaten there in a year or more. The food was not the quality it was in the past. Very disappointed in the meal. We will not go back
google avatar

Tippi E.

Yelp
The food was great, but the owner was rude and the service was kind of slow. We didn't really mind the slow service since we weren't in a hurry. We had finished apps and entrees and had ordered dessert. I was going to get something to go as well. The owner came to the table and asked if he could take the menu. He then asked how long we were going to be because there were people waiting for a table. When we told him we had ordered dessert he seemed okay with letting us stay. I didn't get anything to go, because I didn't want to give him anymore money. I won't be back.

Yelp
Well I was excited to eat here after the reviews I had read. So at lunch we get a to go order of lasagna and Italian sausage with spaghetti and tiramisu. Garlic bread they gave us was only toasted on one side and inside the bag there was hair on the bread also hair on my lasagna. the tiramisu tasted like it had a lot of cinnamon in it which I don't recall tiramisu having cinnamon in it all. I have never seen so much chocolate coated on a tiramisu maybe a drizzle but usually it just dusted with Coco powder and as soon as you open it you smell the cinnamon. I think they may have accidentally dusted/dosed it with cinnamon and covered their mistake with choclate.
