When I first saw the amount of meat I was getting I thought it was too pricey, until I tasted it! Good quality meats, veggies and soup. I ended up eating too much because it was good. Kinda weird going with a lot of people because it's only bar seating. Great place for a date. The fish was also good.

Google
Pretty nifty place to hang out and eat. The setup is very simple. Just order the plate and the soup base and they will have it delivered to you. The only thing you have to do is put the food in the bowl :) Taste was magnificent. Their service is very efficient too. Highly recommend.

Google
Good place for someone who has never had shabu shabu before and for veterans alike. Staff was very friendly and very patient in explaining how to do things and options available. You have options for portion sizes, types of base broths, noodles and meats to make your perfect dish. Will definitely return and recommend.

Google
Delicious shabu shabu! If you haven't eaten it before, don't be intimidated, the staff is so great and even showed my older parents how to use everything. They had so much fun and the food was top notch.

Google
Service is super good and waiter had a lot of patience. And tonkatsu soup base was really good! The beef was also pretty tender, and portions are enough to fill you up!

I was nearby this place and I give a try First time I had shabu shabu, server guide me thru the process nice and helpful a little bit pricey but was worth the price 😋

Google
This place is good! Updated from 2stars, we go twice a month and the meats are good. Update: this place is closing down on 3/3. Very sad and they'll be missed. In the rumor mill, they've been sold out to another restaurant. Serving shabu in the am and tapas at night. Lot's of renovations happening in the summer, I assume the new place will open later this year. Still going to miss Dip, inconsistent meats, sometimes amazing and just okay. Regardless, you'll be missed.

Google
Affordable veggie option! So many shabu places charge a lot for the veggie option but this one was fair in price. The spicy miso was good and actually spicy. Their veggies were fresh and good variety. We will be going back!

Yelp
First time here. Group of 3 arrived right when they opened for dinner at 5, open seating. Very nice server, explained the menu to us and how to order. We had lots of questions and she answered them all graciously and went back to confirm with a co-worker for something she wasn't 100% about. I got the ninja size (smallest size of 3), dip choice cut (which was perfect since I like to eat a lot of veggies) in spicy miso soup with udon noodles. Food came out quick. Waitress offered a spicy oil, I had 1 drop in my dipping sauces which was plenty spicy. All in all, great shabu shabu with good vibes. I think next time I'll try the tonkatsu.

Yelp
Missed shabu shabu so I headed here to celebrate my birthday. I haven't been since the change of ownership but it still looked like the one I'd go to in brea. Decided to go big or go home and went with the WAGYU, what a disappointment. The meat was unbearably chewy. Everything else seemed to be good though. The veggies were good quality and the sukiyaki was tasty. The PRIME RIB was where it was at for sure. If I go back id get prime rib for sure. The servers were fantastic! So nice and helpful.

Yelp
Really wish I had a good experience but unfortunately did not. I came in with my family party of 5 (4 adults and 1 child who did not eat) on Saturday for lunch and either we had to wait or my 6 year old would have to sit in a high chair. So I suggested, can we pull up a chair in between my husband and I since he won't be using a grill. The server was hesitant but thankfully she agreed. I didn't see why they would be an issue and not like the restaurant was at full capacity, in fact it was probably less than 1/2 capacity, ppl were just really spaced out so it would be harder to accommodate parties of 3 or more. The servers were really slow, we waited about 5 mins before given a menu. We had to ask multiple time for sauces, bowls, never got a refill on water. Things that should automatically be served to us was not and we had to ask. They hardly checked up on us and would clean the tables around and drink their Tastea. Food was mediocre. The quality of the meat was really good, but really small portion. I think I got about five pieces of the pork. The portions of the vegetable was small as well. On top of that we were charged an 18% gratuity since we had five or more although my child didn't even eat or get served by them. $200 dollars later, for lunch, we won't be back.

Yelp
This is not a real restaurant imo. Items/ingredients are overpriced on the menu for how simple they actually are, and the owner/manager is strange (wearing Supreme clothing knockoffs). There are many better hot pot and Shabu Shabu places in the Cerritos/Aretsia area, which are all better options than here. I've heard the place was better under previous ownership, fwiw.

Yelp
Came here on a cold day looking for some soup to hit the spot. Immediately walking in you could tell it was filipino owned with business. Once I saw Sinigang as one of the broth options I was sold. The service is good but there were some times that we needed someone and everyone was in the back. Food: Sinigang broth was good. The portions are a tad small from what I'm use to getting for the price.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try this spot for a long time and finally did on a Sunday night. It's right next to BCD Tofu house. Plaza parking can be a bit tricky, or easy depending on the time. When we went, there wasn't any wait but we did go at a later time (8p?) so it helped to beat the crowds. Very hip decors and I loved that they had the bar seats. They have a lot of meat options, soup options, sauces, and sides. They also offered white/ brown rice and three types of noodles. Additionally, they have a descent selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks (apparently they also have dessert?) Everyone gets your own pot here. I got the choice ninja (small) beef plate, Shabu soup base (the most basic one), glass noodles, brown rice, and both sauces. Food was fresh and service was attentive, even though they were busy. I have to say that the price was a bit high but I guess inflation is no joke. Overall, it's a great place to serve your hotpot/ Shabu craving!

Yelp
Always a great spot for Shabu Shabu. The family has been going to this place for years and it has become a favorite meal for a birthday dinner... the interaction with friends, family, the staff..even the person sitting next to you as you basically "cook" your own meal. We have a good time talking and laughing always while here. The atmosphere is always good. The food isn't bad either . I normally get a big serving "the dad bod size". This time I got the ninja (small). It was still filling. I always try different meat, broths, combos. This time wanted the pork, but unfortunately, not available ( maybe next time). I settled for the "Dips Choice", very good and "marbley". Also remember, you do not have to do a broth, you can cook your food on a cask iron pan if you're not into that. We will be back...Don't forget to pick up a T-Shirt

Yelp
We were initially going with BCD Tofu Right next door, but changed our mind last minute. Upon entering there were only two other patrons eating. This was around linner time, so it wasn't busy at all. Service: I believe our waitress was Cassie. She was awesome and checked on us frequently. It was my first time there, so I wasn't too sure on what was popular. She was quick to let me know the popular options along with her personal suggestions. Food and drinks came out quick. Food: Food was very good. One of the better cuts of meat I've came across. I tried the Spicy Miso because I like a little kick to the broth. Wasn't too bad, but I may try a different option next time since I didn't realize the spices that were sitting right in front me. My friend got the sukiyaki and it was good. A bit on the sweeter side for me, but good nevertheless Interior: Establishment was very clean and the decor was fun. I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
Quality ingredients and I love that it's Not AYCE. Sometimes I'll take simplicity and quality meats and sauces over the excess chaos at all you can eat menu spots. The chicken breast was so good, lean and clean. I left here feeling full but also not over salted and sluggish. Parking here can be difficult as it's in the plaza with Gerry's grill, BCD tofu house etc. Be patient during peak times of this recovering pandemic period. There were only 3 staff here running around, and they were doing their best. Highlight: they offer harusame glass noodles with their veggie set. It was a nice slippery chewy texture! Also, they have a powder and soy base ish soup base to make a soup bowl for the end! A little goes a long way, so add with a light hand!

Yelp
I've been a customer since this place was Yojie Shabu Shabu. That's several years. Their tonkatsu broth is delicious, however, there are days when the broth is sour. Request a new one if you get the sour batch. They also stopped including mushrooms in the veggie bowls. Customer service has gone downhill. Entering as a party of 1, there's no acknowledgment. Twice in a row so far. Seats available and completely ignored. This was the last straw. Will not be back!

Yelp
Service was good and servers were nice. But this review was for the food. I got the "ninja" size and the portions were ok. I got the prime rib and the meat was ehhh. My boyfriend got the waygu and that was better. The veggies for the soup were your basic cabbage, carrot, onion, broccoli. I got the spicy miso broth and it was a mild spicy, my boyfriend got the filipino, tamarind inspired broth and was too sour for me.

Yelp
Expensive. Food was nothing spectacular. Restaurant was not crowded. Several servers sitting around talking and not doing much. I order shrimp and they took a while to bring it out. How hard is it to put six shrimp on a plate. I had to remind them to check on my food. Portions were very small. They charged extra for splitting the pot with sukiyaki and water. It's just water.

Yelp
It's time to dip it low at Dip Shabu in Artesia! It's never a bad day when you're having Shabu and Dip Shabu is soupremely amazing and they got the art of Shabu Shabu down. Dip Shabu has a variety of plate options in various sizes, but we had to go for the Dip Choice Cut and Prime Rib. The Dip Choice Cut is the owner's choice and it's known for its marbling, fine texture and rich beef flavor. The Prime Rib is a flavorful ribeye cut from the most tender and underworked part of the cattle. These meat options were of the highest quality and it got me extremely full. They were so rich in flavor and very tender as well! And don't forget to pair a meal with sake as well. They have so many drink options and I tried their Plum Sake which I loved! For the broth, they make all of their options in house. We went with Sukiyaki and Tonkatsu and Sukiyaki is my favorite! It's their signature sweet broth that comes with a traditional fresh pasteurized egg for dipping. The Tonkatsu is milky white and unctuous thanks to the pork marrow bones and fat cooked for hours. You honestly can't go wrong with either of these broths. Both were very flavorful and the Sukiyaki here is my favorite and it never fails. For dessert, their Bananas Foster is so indulgent! The bananas flambéed in caramel with the vanilla ice cream and banana bread was just so mouth watering! The absolutely love the vibes of Dip Shabu as well. The art on their walls are very unique, well done and it brings everything together. They also have TVs on the wall that's perfect for watching sports while enjoying a great Shabu dinner. Make sure to come here for a Lakers game because for every Lakers game they have the Lake Show Special where you can get a Sumo plate plus 1 mini hot carafe of sake for $24.99. If you're looking for a fantastic Shabu spot, check out Dip Shabu! They know how to do Shabu Shabu the right way. Everything I had was excellent and the vibes and customer service was exceptional. The servers were very nice, attentive and helpful with everything. I'll definitely be back here for more Shabu Shabu!

Yelp
1) food taste is very good, but with the newer owners the vegetables are not chopped small enough. 2) service last night was terrible. They asked us to wait a few minutes for them to clean off the counter. Even though there were many openings, it took quite awhile. Then after they were clean we were ignored. One party of 2 just walked in and sat down. Then we did too. Then another party waiting did the same thing. Both of those parties were served first. When I mentioned it to the taller waitress she just said that she seated them first, which wasn't true they seated themselves. There was no apology, and after I tried to repeat and clarify, nothing. 3) ambiance was ok.

Yelp
There's a lot of Shabu Shabu placed in the area and I saw this one show up and decided to give it a shot. The first thing you notice when you get inside is the decorations - really great decor, in my opinion. It feels very welcoming and gives off the vibe of a "Let's eat, drink, and be merry." The server was also really cool. He chatted with us and answered any questions we may have had. We asked about the portion sizes as I was confused by the difference in sizes (essentially it breaks down to "hungry, hungrier, or hungriest"). He explained that the smallest is about 5 oz of liquid and the largest is about 10 oz of liquid. This helped a bit. So I got the Shabu Shabu broth (large) and my wife got the spicy miso (small). Meat-wise, I got the prime rib and my wife got the dip choice cut. Just an FYI, you don't get a lot of meat - approximately 6-8 slices. Then we selected Udon and Ramen noodles for our Shabu Shabu. The first thing that came out was the broth, which was super quick. Both broth sizes came out the same, despite the fact that my wife got a small and I got large. After the broth came out, we got our meats and the veggies. The server said we could adjust our hot plate, which would mean I had to lean over the counter as the temp gauge faces away from me - safety-wise, I would assume you would want the temp gauge facing the customer. This was weird to me, but nonetheless, I adjusted the temperature as needed to either boil the broth faster or let it cool down. Flavorwise, my wife and I both were unimpressed with the broth. We both agreed the other Shabu Shabu places in the area had better broth. Meat wise we really couldn't tell the difference in the meats despite having different cuts. Flavor and everything tasted the same - almost as if it were the same cut. Pricewise, I feel it's a bit pricey for what you get. Had the quality of food been better, then I could agree on the price. However, as this isn't the only Shabu Shabu place in the area, and others including the AYCE are cheaper, I'd be hard press to come back to this place.

Yelp
First time here, I was impressed, and worth the 1 hour and 30 min drive. Ordered Wagyu Beef with the Sukiyaki Broth, and I must say the broth is the "BEST" I've tasted. Service was fast and the servers were very nice and attentive for a busy Friday night. Personally I love quality food and was worth every penny I paid! Thanks "Dip" for making my dining experience enjoyable!

Yelp
If in the area, I highly recommend Dip shabu shabu. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. All bar seating low and high. Ordered the dip meat which is most popular with side of brown rice and udon. Apps edamame and masubi. Edamame no complaints. But wouldn't recommend masubi. Super dry and kinda bland. The sukiyaki masubi more sweet side hence the sukiyaki but the bland spam turned me off so didn't eat either. Since the protein choice is great and amazing service would be back.

Yelp
This place is really cute!!! It was decorated for Halloween and I loved it. The staff were really kind and helpful too. Mind you, I went on a Tuesday night and it wasn't that busy. I'm on this shabu kick where I'm trying different places that aren't AYCE, because I'm poor and I don't wanna hate myself when I leave the restaurant. Dip Shabu hit all the criteria of what I like in a shabu place, and I'm a simple person--all I really care about is broth selection, can I have glass noodles, is there goma (not hard to hit this one, as you can see, and I am not extremely picky). So I think I'm too Filipino for my own good because I am a SUCKER for sinigang. Good idea for shabu in theory, but in practice, not so much. I don't have regrets because obviously you should never regret learning experiences. The sinigang was fine, tastes just like any other sinigang (but not like Lola's obviously, iykyk), but factoring in the sauces, the veggies, the noodles, the other flavors--my brain couldn't compute. Again, I didn't HATE it--I'll still come back. Maybe you'll try the sinigang broth and decide you'll love it but idk you came to yelp to look for reviews and unsolicited opinions so...here I am.

Yelp
First time having ShabuShabu. It was delicious! Got the Chicken Breast in regular Shabu broth. So fresh n so clean-clean. The goma dipping sauce is delicious! The hot sauce drops they offer to add to your dipping sauces is flavorful but strong! Go easy. The waitress took the time to explain everything as it was clear I was new. Also since it was my birthday she offered to bring out ice cream. She saw I was ordering as healthy as possible so I'm glad she asked before just "surprising" me with it. Really appreciated that. They kept us seated socially distant from other patrons at the restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Giving 2 stars because the employees were very friendly and nice. 0 stars for the food itself. Overall, I don't recommend this place. I've been to Mokkoji, Broth, Jazz Cat, and many other shabu and hot pot places that are far more worth your money than Dip. You don't get a lot of meat at this place, you order by the ounce and they give you a couple pieces of largely sliced meats. The vegetable options were also mediocre and the rice bowl I received felt undercooked. My boyfriend and I's dinner came out to around $62~ and I only ate the meat and some vegetables that came with my meal. I felt so ripped off because it was just a terrible dining experience. I was literally still hungry and had to go to a different restaurant after so I can feel full. I wish I had listened to the other recent reviews giving low stars to this restaurant instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt. No doubt the employees are so nice, but I would never come back or recommend this restaurant to anyone else. I'd rather pay more for all you can eat at Broth or drive to Garden Grove for Mokkoji.

Yelp
Finally tried out this shabu shabu restaurant and it did not disappoint. We walked in and was able to get seated right away. The restaurant is clean and they do practice social distancing for all customers. The menu is pretty easy to read. We started off with some cold Sapporo beer. Then we ordered the following: - prime rib ronin: rib eye meat -dip combo: angus beef and swai fish We both got the spicy miso broth with ramen noodles. The spicy miso comes with goma and ponzu sauces. As for the veggies: broccoli, carrots, tofu, onions and lots of cabbage. The service is excellent! I recommend this restaurant.

Trung N.

Yelp
My last dining experience here was very okay. I ordered the spicy miso broth with the Geisha lunch portion for the Yojie cut, which is just angus beef ($15.99 for the lunch special and an extra $2 for the spicy miso broth). My vegetables were haphazardly piled into a bowl. Not that it needs to be organized, but it should look somewhat appetizing to say the least. They went real skimpy on the veggies - a few pieces of spinach, some cabbage, small thing of enoki - real minimal. The spicy miso broth was just a very spicy flavorless broth. Whew, it was spicy. The broth flavor was okay - it. was more spicy than flavorful. I feel like I eat here by default, however, I think there are better shabu options in the area.

Yelp
Been meaning to post this review for so long!! DIP Shabu is THE spot. Never disappoints. I like to order the Atlantic Salmon in the Ninja size. The portion of food you get is definitely filling for one person considering every plate comes with a bowl of veggies as well your rice, choice of noodle, and sauce(s). My order is brown rice, and udon noodles. The sauces I get are the goma (for dipping my veggies) and the ponzu (for dipping my salmon) and I like to get 4 hot drops in each of my sauces (if you're into spicy food, I def recommend getting a few drops). As far as my broth choice goes, I get sukiyaki. Y'all, the sukiyaki broth here is THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I've been to other shabu spots and a lot of their broths taste so watered down and bland. :( The quality of their salmon as well as their presentation are great! I like to season my rice w/ the chili oil & the seasoning on the table. Literally perfect. Not to mention, the staff is so friendly and attentive. It's easy to feel welcomed and comfortable at this restaurant. Decor is super nice, very modern and hip. Restrooms are clean and the art on the right wall as you walk in is amazing. 10/10. AND, their music is always great. If you've been looking for a shabu spot or even just a new food place to go to, I def recommend giving DIP Shabu a shot. You won't regret it!

Sambo L.

Yelp
I really wish this place was open more often because it's my favorite spot to have sukiyaki. The last several times I wanted to stop by with a friend, they were closed... They have high quality meat, fresh produce, and great tasting broth that I prefer over other places. Hopefully they decide to broaden their business hours.

Yelp
So sad!! I really wanted to try this place! I came on a Tuesday night at 8pm and it was a little empty but there were still some parties eating, the server let us know that they already did last call and weren't accepting any more parties because they were slow (they close at 9pm). I went to Yuzu down the street for my shabu fix instead.

Yelp
Food is excellent! What a fun dinner and experience. Cassie was a terrific server who guided us through our first time here. Great ownership that demonstrates their love for what they do. Thank you for a nice dinner date and looking forward to bringing the kids back for more fun and great food.

Yelp
First time going to this place and after a long wait we order desert because that's what the misses wanted. Long story short we placed our order of fruit and pastries fondue. After people seating next to us got started to eating their meals we called the waitress to ask what was going on with our food the relied they were still working on finishing preparing it how.

Yelp
Hey friend, I tried this place too. Its not good. I was confused with all the yojie reviews but turns out its where yojie used to be. This place was sold and under new management; said the friendly waiter. The staff was very nice and attentive, unfortunately the food just isn't worth the price. I don't know if the owner just thought there was no other options around here for Shabu Shabu, but thats what the pricing suggests. This is not AYCE, and maybe they didn't know but its Covid times and they think people are out here spending their stimulus checks on Shabu. OK lets get to it, in terms of portion size the meat, although high grade, was very minimal for the price. There's other shabu nearby which serves the same high quality meat but AYCE. I literally counted 6 thinly sliced cuts of meat! for $24 and i'm thinking they'll make up the costs with the veggies. Wrong! Not only was it a minimal selection of veggies it was all filler, like at least cut the cabbage more if its gonna be half a head. I got the Ronin, premium beef tongkatsu style. Ronin means extra large in their menu, but not in the amount they give you. This is why it feels like a rip off, because you and I both know napa cabbage is like $2-$3. The Udon noodles literally fell apart once I grabbed at it, this means it was most likely frozen and was defrosting all day by the time i ordered it. Hey if you want this place to really be memorable and an experience, maybe check out the competition? Skip this Dip and check out Broth or Boiling Point or better yet Miss Shabu.

Yelp
Love is when someone looks for a spot I haven't reviewed on Yelp, picks me up and takes me to dinner!! It was a California cold night so shabu shabu was exactly the type of meal I wanted. Yojie Japanese Fondue has a circular seating area, so I would not recommend it for large parties or if you are too shy to sit by strangers. There are a good amount of high chairs and low chairs. My dinner companion and I opt for the high chairs. Ladies, if you have a purse, look underneath and there are purse hangers. The service here was friendly enough, but not too effective. For instance, they started explaining the shabu shabu concept to us... It was a really lacking description, not to mention it is a better use of my time if she had asked first if we were familiar with shabu shabu. All of the plates at Yojie comes with the protein of your choice, vegetables, noodles, and your choice of brown or white rice. We actually ended up ordering off menu, the Kings 23 plate ($23.99) special that is the SUMO size Yojie Cut, an original hand pick angus cut by chef Yojie that is prized for its' consistent marbling, because it came with a complementary large sake! Ordering 2 large sakes on the side would have been more expensive. I just had the regular shabu shabu base with water and seaweed with no rice. My dinner companion upgraded to the Spicy Miso (additional $2) broth base with white rice. We were give garlic, radish and chives to additionally season the broth. Ponzu and Goma sauce were also given to dip our meats and veggies. Yojie has a really nice base to set there meats to save counter space. Our glorious Yojie cuts sat on that base like a throne. The veggie were a bit disappointing compared to other shabu shabu places. It was just the basic filler items, nothing I love. Worst of all though was the eyelash I spotted on the onions. I told them they can just remove the onions since I don't want it anyways. Gross! The overall meal was pretty good but it was too much food. Ohh the choices we make for that Sake!! After eating the majority of the food, I saved a few slices of beef and the udon noodles and asked for their soup base. I mixed a little bit of the soup base with the remaining meats, udon, some garlic, goma, and the yummy broth that has been plenty seasoned by the cooked off fat. It was a yummy way to finish off the meal. Great shabu shabu spot if you happen to be in the area.

Yelp
This is a MUST TRY Shabu spot. The meat at DIP is such great quality unlike many Shabu spots. The broth options here are your typical flavors you might see except they have a Sinigang broth! (It's a sour tamarind base and it's delicious) I like mixing sinigang and tonkatsu together. Drooling just thinking about it. The sukiyaki musubi is another must try for their apps. The staff here is great, everyone from servers to managers and owners are very attentive. All around this place is a 10 out of 10 RECOMMEND!

Yelp
I'm going through all these good reviews and wondering how our experiences are so different. Parking is in a shared lot, but the plaza seems very busy. Shouldn't be too difficult to find a spot though. Service was okay. Not awful, but there were definitely some delays. Main one was when we clearly stopped eating and they even turned our stoves off for us, but it still took a while for them to come back to clean up/offer dessert/offer the check. Atmosphere is interesting. It's a communal round bar type set up. You're sitting across from strangers and next to your party. Hard to keep a conversation if you have a big group, but perfectly fine for couples. There's things to do while you wait for a seat. I didn't explore, but I saw a mini foosball table and a selfie center. Most importantly though is the food. I got the shabu shabu combo with angus beef and kurobuta pork. The beef was pretty good, but the pork was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The side veggies were basic; no issues there. The main problem came with the "broth". It was basically just water. You can zoom into my picture and see the tiny bit of kelp they put to flavor the water. It did nothing. I had to improv a soup by throwing in garlic, green onion, pepper flakes, and ponzu before I bothered cooking any of my food in it. It was better than water, but still not that great. Two of my friends gave up on their "broth" and just used another friend's sukiyaki pot. Sukiyaki friend clearly enjoyed her overall meal more than we did, so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. Pricing though? I don't know if it's worth it. The cuts of meat were definitely good, but I didn't leave completely full. Some of us actually got hungry again a very short while later.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant while on vacation, a must try experience. The staff were friendly and great teachers on the art of shabu. It is a small and intimate setting and you will be back once you try, because there are so many variations to try. Support local and give it a try!

Yelp
Not gonna lie, I was on a 2-hour waitlist for Broth shabu shabu, and I got too impatient and decided to try Dip. I was pleasantly surprised! (Heads up: seating is bar style, so it's best to go with a small group) I got: _Ninja dip choice cut _Spicy miso broth _Ramen noodles +extra vegetables The broth is flavorful, and the meat is great! They give you a good portion of meat, even with the small ninja size. My only critique is that I wish we got a greater variety of veggies. We really only got broccoli and lettuce. The interior is hip and trendy! Lots of hip hop references and good music playing.

Yelp
Best CUSTOMER SERVICE ever!!! Our server was ALYSSA, she was very polite, hospitable, and attentive. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the Ninja, sukiyaki, glass noodles, white rice, and a raw egg... I couldn't even finish my entire meal... they're very generous with their portions. We will definitely be coming back here!! Oh, and they've got some swag that I'll be coming back to purchase... SOUP-er CUTE!! Love this place so much!

Yelp
Quick update since it's been 7 years since my last update review but it hasn't been that long since my last dining visit. I just had lunch in the newly renovated interior and I must say it's a lot brighter and modern. The burners are new but the arrangement of the bar is still the same. Most of the menu is the same with a few changes, and one of the additions to the menu is the Sinigang broth, inspired by a traditional Filipino stew of the same name. So I ordered the Yojie cut beef and tried the Sinigang broth. The veggies complement the sour broth nicely as well. Our server then brought out a tamarind condiment to add to the broth if we want it more sour, which I did. The flavor was just like home (if you grew up in a Filipino house). If you are in the mood for something new with a Filipino twist, I recommend the Sinigang broth. It also goes well with any of the protein offered. Overall, it's nice to come back to a spot I really enjoy dining at. The service has always been friendly. The food is always good and I like that the menu has new items. The new interior is nice and clean, but could really use a bit more character. Either some art or mural on the wall, or spots of color, something to give the space more life.

Yelp
First time here at this very location, but I have been to other Yojie's in Los Angeles and Diamond Bar when it was still open. Aside from the price, the menu hasn't changed. They serve classical Japanese style shabu-shabu with vegetables, steamed rice, and two variety dipping sauces. The quality of the meat and the freshness of the vegetable were there. I was able the see the marbling around the cut, and the vegetable dish was compact with assorted vegetables and udon noodle. I especially enjoyed dipping the beef in both soy sauce-based and peanut-based sauce. My seating station was clean, and the service was nice. The new owner introduced himself, and the other servers were attentive to my needs. Overall, I would come back to this restaurant. The quality reminded me of other Yojie locations. I had a pleasant experience.

Yelp
The green onion is almost rotten. We asked for changed but coming back with same quality. The shrimp is not fresh at all. It's not a place to recommend.

Yelp
One of my favorite shabu spots. The soup is great and the quality of food is top. Always coming back here when i have shabu cravings. The servers are always around and the environment is very creative always something to look at.

Yelp
If you want to feel like your existence is being underminded, look no further. This place most definitely takes the cake. Horrible experience. We were told to sign our name on a list and we would be taken care of. We waited 15 minutes for absolutely nothing. A random couple just walked in and self seated. We waited for servers to do something about it, and alas nothing was done. A server then approaches them and gives them a menu. We then decide to speak to a server. The server had the audacity to tell us they haven't talk to them yet, as a someone was explaining the menu to people who cut in line. Only thing that came out of the server's mouth was excuses. There is no excuse for the way this was handled. I feel disrespected and mostly disappointed. I was just here 2 days before and the seating process also was a mess during that experience as well. Having a list for guests to put there names on usually works, but since servers at this establishment love being walked all over, it has little to no meaning. This is equivalent to children playing restaurant at home.

Yelp
It was a cold evening with a brisk chill. My friend and I decided to have some shabu. We didn't have to wait long for a table, which was very nice. My friend and I each ordered a combo set. I ordered the fish and beef combo with the spicy miso soup base. The protein was fresh and so were the vegetables. Overall, the food was delicious. Wait staff was attentive; they checked in often. I will definitely return here. I had a positive experience.

Yelp
We came here a few days ago and the food was good! Except the service was eh, our waiter never offered to fill our drinks up we kept having to ask for refills, just overall it wasn't a good time since we kept having to ask for stuff they never asked if we needed anything. Anyways the cherry on top was they added a automatically $17 tip on our bill, so that's what I'm guessing their service was eh, since they know they are adding a automatic tip, we asked why they add an automatic tip when it was just for 4 people. (2 kids and 2 adults) it's cause they have a new PCOS system is their excuse. Like ok?? Anyways, tips are not mandatory, if you don't care for your table, don't expect a tip. Simple as that.

Yelp
Unfortunately I wont be returning. The portions especially with the vegetables have gotten so cheap and it really doesnt feel worth going now

Yelp
Yojie has always been my go-to hot pot/shabu shabu restaurant for years mainly because of the food. I just really like cooking the meat, vegetables, and noodles in the sukiyaki broth because I love the flavor of it, and I like that it comes with the egg. I've also tried the spicy miso broth with the ponzu and goma dipping sauces. It's not bad, but I definitely still prefer and would recommend the sukiyaki. Service is always different. Since I've come here a good amount of times, I've experienced really great service sometimes but also really slow and poor service other times.. I noticed they just tend to be understaffed. My most recent visits have been during lunch, so service has been great since it's usually not too busy during the day for 1-2 servers to be able to handle

Yelp
I would rate them 0 for the services!!!! It couldn't say bad services, it is totally nonsense services!!! They have 3 waitress on Friday night during there tiny shabu lounge, while we when there not to busy, some empty spot open, everyone eating, some almost done and pay, only a couple next to me that just got their meat and rice. I ordered the medium size pork shoulder, it came as a ninja size , they were only 6 pc for $21.99 because I have been here before I knew it count by the weight but it's reasonable when it came out half of the plate. I couldn't imagine if I order the ninja size it may come only 4 pc??? I got my soup, meat and rice for 5 minutes but I never got served any chopstick, napkins, spoon. I have been asking all 3 waitress more than 5 times to get my spoon!! Until my soup boil I still waiting for utensils to eat. Finally I have to take a chopstick and napkins from the next open spot and asking for the spoon again. The vegetable and noodles never came too, I have to ask them 3 times they told me will be another lady will bring it, hello lady!!! Which is lady? I have been asked 3 of you but no one bring it. Nothing happened smoothly until I saw the gentleman came out from the back, I pretty sure he is the manager. Thanks God I got everything after. I would tell him to not hiring Zombie with the fake long eye lashes, hello kitty keep cute child smile, and aggressive head waitress work in your place. They gave me the bill and told me they were give me 10% for our both meals to sorry for bringing noodles and vegetable so late. I told the waitress to never mind for the discount but I hope you do better on the services, but she answer me just 'You know we're busy.................' OK fine! I never write the 1 stars review before this is my first time because I just want to share my experience to your manager (owner) to fixed it out on your services.

Yelp
My local go to "swish swish" spot if I'm craving shabu. The food and service is always consistent. The ambiance is fun, with lots of urban artwork.

Yelp
First off, the service is outstanding and the staff are VERY nice. They check on you continuously and fill your drink regularly. The food was very tasty and great quality, I had the prime beef that was fantastic, I had the XXXL portion that was of moderate size but filling but the price was a little high. The fresh ramen noodles were fantastic, the portion was a little bit small but very tasty. The only negative I would say is the variety of vegetables with the meal, it was mainly cabbage and not a lot of variety that other Shabu places serve. I had the citrus broth that was very good and the spam masubi that was also fresh and tasty. All in all I'd say the overall experience was great and I'd come back again.

Yelp
Not very often you can screwed Shabu but this was one of my worst dining experience. Only few pieces of veggie and bad rice . When we asked to exchanged the bad rice , they said they will cook a new round of rice and it didn't arrived until we almost finish the whole pot . I did not understand why this place still in business.

Yelp
I'm currently writing this as we're waiting. It's been 15 minutes and not one server has acknowledged or communicated with me that they'd get my party seated. The restaurant is half empty. As someone who also worked as a server, I completely understand that it takes time to clear the tables, clean it, and get people seated, all while attending to needs of other customers. But the fact that no one has even said a word to me yet says a lot about the customer service here. It takes less than a minute to say "Hi, please give us a few minutes as we prepare to get you seated." Update: After 25 minutes with plenty of spots open during that time, they finally seated our party of 3. I would strongly recommend having more than 2 servers in the front during peak times for more efficiency & to avoid negative experiences like this for future customers. Edit: I will say, however, when we got seated the service was good and they were very friendly & attentive to us. I do appreciate that one of the waitresses apologized and offered a discount. The food was good too so I guess I was just really hangry when I was writing this review earlier LOL but I don't think I was overreacting. Someone should have acknowledged me & it shouldn't take 25 minutes to get seated when there were open seats available. Just my two cents, I hope this business continues to improve and thrive!
