"A restaurant that has had a new lease of life thanks to a change in location, where the dining counter is the undoubted star of the show. Here, Arnau Muñío, a chef who is always bold in his combinations and shows a special interest in cooking with fish, seafood and vegetables, skilfully fuses deep-rooted Catalan cooking with Mediterranean ingredients and Asian cuisine. Choose between different surprise tasting menus (Direkte, Boqueria y Eixample) and make sure you book ahead." - Michelin Inspector

We had a truly amazing experience. The food was incredible and the service outstanding. They spoke great English being able to explain all the intricate details of the plates and the wine pairing too. The wine pairing option included a half glass portion which is great. They predominately do seafood and all the plates are small and rich in unique flavours. Great to visit as a couple as you sit around the kitchen.

Those bad reviews were definitely fake. A must-visit for adventurous palates. I stumbled upon this underrated fusion spot on a local recommendation. The menu is bold and fearless, combining Spanish and Japanese flavors into dishes that are balanced and light. Every bite feels thoughtfully crafted, and the staff takes the time to explain each dish with care. The smoked cheesecake and sweet potatoes dessert were absolute showstopper. One small suggestion: since there are some cold tapas on the menu, pairing them with a warm tea could help cleanse the palate and keep you cozy as you move through the courses. €183 for 2 pax 10 course is defo a steal!

I had the pleasure of dining at Direkte on their second day of service in their new location and really enjoyed it. Essentially 12 small dishes with great Spanish ingredients and a strong modern Japanese influence. My favourites were the peas with seaweed and wasabi and the scallop with beef sauce. The liquid cheesecake with matcha at the end is honestly to die for, and could easily be served in any top-class restaurant (don‘t take it off the menu! ;) Great atmosphere, as all the diners are sat down at the beautifully made counter. Dishes are prepared right in front of you, and the staff is happy to chat inbetween. VERY friendly wine list as well. If I could just offer a tiny bit of criticism: some nice chopsticks are always preferrable to tweezers (and would fit better into the beautiful set of pottery!) and the entire experience would really benefit from having a tiny bit more time. The seatings last for 2:00 hours, but it did feel a tiny bit stressful towards the end as new diners were already coming in. Also, there were some small service hiccups, but the great food definitely excused all of that. In the end: highly recommended, go there before they get their star and inadvertedly (and understandably) raise their prices! ;) ¡Gracias por la maravillosa comida!

Beautiful food, very tasty and matching flavors. Mixing two of my favorite cuisines. It’s a place to go once every 6 months to try different seasonal produce. The smoked cheese cake is definitely one of the best I have had in a very long time. The music playlist could use some work to fit to the ambiance of the venue. Other than that the new shop is stunning. Beautiful design, beautiful kitchen.

What a treat! This fine dining will bring tears to your eyes 🥰. My favourite dishes were the peas with wasabi, and the asparagus.... I think; very hard to choose 🙃. All very very tasty courses.

Albert and Feran Adria broke the French supremacy on the culinary top . Meanwhile a lot of El Bulli chefs step in their path . My absolute favourite is DireKte - recent moved from the Boqueria to C Paris . Arnau is a super friendly and passioned chef . I eat there regularly and the menu always differs . Super creative dishes paired by a genius sommelier . It’s worth the trip !

We were really looking forward to our dinner, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The mussel soup had an unpleasant slimy texture that made it difficult to enjoy. The cheesecake had a strong, burnt aftertaste — reminiscent of scorched goat milk, which was quite off-putting. The smoked oysters had an odd, unfamiliar flavor, and overall, the textures and flavor combinations across the dishes felt strange and unbalanced. That said, the wine selection was excellent, and we truly appreciated the attentive and friendly service. The ambience was warm and inviting, making the experience pleasant despite the disappointment with the food.

This was an amazing experience. Extremely creative food, in a stylish setting. Apparently, this is a new location (as of June 2025). There are two seatings — we had the earlier one. You pick between three menus (7, 10, and 12 courses; the 12 course menu has to be reserved in advance), which are served omakase style to everyone at the same time. We selected the 10 course menu and were very happy with the selection. The food was just amazing — hard to describe what we even had (lots of seafood, with Asian flair), but we enjoyed it all! Don’t be late, as everyone is seated at the same time. A reasonably priced wine menu (we didn’t do a pairing). Absolutely recommended!
