"Dirt Dog has become the next great (and growing) hot dog empire in Los Angeles. Originally founded with a promise to bring the bacon-wrapped street dog into a restaurant setting, the company has grown to include a variety of dogs and locations, including the dirty chili dog with bacon, chorizo, and lots of cheese." - Farley Elliott

Google
I come here from Pomona just for the chorizo chili dog It's soooo good. All kinds of hot dogs to choose from. Tried the chili fries....bomb. And the Murals up on walls are awesome. And let's not forget, you can write your name or whatever you want on the walls to leave your Mark. Highly recommend this place.

Google
If you have a large appetite and love hotdogs, you must check this place out! I was not disappointed at all! We couldn’t decide so we got several different ones, the street corn (top tier). Little disappointed with the size and amount of the fried Orels but that was just the big back in me! They taste amazing. Loved all the pic and service was just as great! I will be returning when I come back to California

Google
This is my first time coming here, and my last. It was over-hyped. First, the food wasn't good, but it looked very appealing. I asked the staff if they could do nacho cheese fries, and she said yes. I don't know what cheese they used, but it was not your typical nacho cheese. The birria tacos were not it; the tortillas used were awful. Save your money and go somewhere else. I spent over 44 dollars, never coming back.

Google
Great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Big huge variety of different things on your dog. Not a sloppy dog, So those of you looking for a real sloppy dog. You will need to ask for more sauces. Overall pretty good.

Google
Pretty good modern take on hot dogs with all the fixings. Be warned, though the garlic fries are intense. Don't get for them if you're going to be hanging out with a bunch of people, lol. Pastrami is fire, and the asada is great.

Rose Rosales

Google
I got the large carne asada fries and it comes with guac. I don’t expect the whole plate to be covered in guac but they didn’t even add a whole tablespoon of the guac. It’s very disappointing. I am not too happy about the amount of meat they add either . It’s the same amount they put on the small size carne asada fries just spread out so it looks like there’s more. Do better !

Google
Amazing food. Loved the DUI Fries! Mmmmmmm.. So good. Only complaint is the seating is really old and tape peeling off seats and gets your legs sticky, food is awesome though.

Google
Great quality dogs with a booming 90s hip hop flare just banging away on the speakers. So it seems they use 100% beef hotdogs with no fillers , and great tasting buns, and from the pics, they pack it on with their bizazz.

Hannah K.

Yelp
we did a quick pitstop for a snack and man was it so worth it. we got a hot dog and corn and it was the perfect little snack to have. the service was amazing, the cashier was patient to answer our questions and the food came out fast. the vibe was interesting and seemed customer forward with graffiti and paintings of LA icons.

Julio V.

Yelp
Ok spot for grabbing some hot dogs but I was not a fan of the prices here. The bun to meat ratio was not ideal. Fries were ok.

Jenna C.

Yelp
So this is our first time to this location. It was good but not as good as the original located in Commerce City. Everything was cooked better and tasted fresher however this place was decent. If you're in the area, it's worth a drop in. I highly recommend the esquite and the fried Oreos but I would skip the breakfast burrito. There's a reason that it's only at this location. We didn't end up eating it and they gave us fried Oreos as a replacement.

Yelp
Was in the Downey area (coming from Long Beach) looking for a quick new place to stop for lunch. I recognized the name "Dirt Dog", and suddenly it occurred to me this restaurant was once one of several, and once had a location in Long Beach. The LB location closed before I had found out about it. Hot dogs are something I don't ordinarily like embellished with a bunch of toppings - I like their simplicity, affordability and the convenience of quick cooking them at home, or picking up a cheap dog at the gas station. However, after looking up pictures of the food on Yelp, these looked a level above just "dogs with extra toppings". A level above, indeed. Ordered the DUI Dog. Firstly, there are two bun options. A traditional hot dog bun and a split-top lobster-roll style bun. Tough choice, but I opted for the regular bun. It was anything but regular, very large, high quality bakery bun which was beautifully toasted inside and out. There was a little sear on the exterior that shows it was prepped with care. Inside, a large bacon-wrapped Nathan's dog, shredded cheese, pastrami, nicely seasoned carne asada, bacon bits [which were crisp and added a perfect bit of texture], and dressed in chipotle aioli and a little bit of cilantro. Seems a little convoluted, but everything worked wonderfully together. Tasted great[and high quality ingredients], presentation was great, preparation was great. I do really hope the owners would consider giving a Long Beach location another go sometime. Definitely want to go back, but I rarely get up to Downey or L.A.

Yelp
First time eating here so I was eager to try them out. I love hot dogs but mainly I'll have a Chicago Dog or one from the food trucks, some times Der W. chili dogs. The house dog was not bad but impossible to eat without half of it landing on your plate. Too messy for me. The service was nice albeit reserved. Got my order to go so it wasn't until I got home a few minutes later I noticed the regular fries I ordered were literally (I counted) 23 fries for $3.75! Yes, Mc Donald's fries are about the same price but you get twice as much of the fries that the bar for fries is set to! They weren't stellar fries either so I felt kinda ripped off. My wife's garlic fries she felt were very salty but still not worth the $4.00 for the amount of fries they serve you. She felt her chili dog was okay but in total 2 dogs and 2 fries for ~$28 and change is pretty steep. For the price of the dogs you would think they could afford to increase the amount of fries served. Sure, prices everywhere seem higher and higher but that means customers will expect more bang for their hard earned money. The dog choices were creative, I'll give them that, I just couldn't fit the damn thing in my mouth without a mess. Might try again when money is less an issue.

Yelp
I came here because I saw it and Instagram and I wanted to try it. I placed my order my hot dog was very delicious but unfortunately I ordered and I will Agua Fresca and the girl took too long to get it to me. I was almost done and still no drink, and unfortunately, unfortunately, I had to ask for my money back. I highly recommended this place but let me tell you the dogs are not cheap they're like $10 a dog.

Lynda B.

Yelp
My mother specifically wanted to come here to try snoop's hot dog but that did not happen... apparently it's not on the menu anymore here and she was really sad about that ..but she got other stuff that was good . I personally prefer not so fancy hotdogs so this wasn't for me but it is a good quality fun place to eat with family or friends lots of rap and hip hop in rotation and beautiful murals to check out . Must add the counter staff and cooks were so friendly clean and generally good people.

Valerie D.

Yelp
At a small strip mall with available parking. Friendly service with a smile. The place was clean. I had the DUI dog, which was a bacon wrapped dog with carne asada, cheese, chipotle aioli, cilantro, and pastrami. It was ok. It was just too salty. My son had the House Dog, which was bacon wrapped with grilled onions, peppers, bacon bits, ketchup, mustard, mayo & house sauce. He thought it was way too messy. Dogs are about $12, each with a little extra for the lobster roll instead of the regular bun. There were 4 of us, and we paid $69. Worth it? Not really. But it satisfied the curiosity of the place. If you're in the mood for a well-dressed dog, then you'd probably like it here.

Monica R.

Yelp
Wowza this place is BOMB! Highly recommend checking this place. The ambiance is very nostalgic and took me back to my childhood to the influential rappers who were on the top. From Snoop Dog to Aaliyah and Selena murals on the wall to playing the best era of music which is the millennial period (early 2000s), it was truly a vibe. I had a vegetarian elite hot dog on a brioche bun and it was simply finger-licking good! I wanted to get a second one but I didn't want to come across as a whale but man of man did I enjoy this. I was craving elite and the vegetarian dog so the fact they had one with both as simply fabulous. You're missing out if you haven't gone.

Earl D.

Yelp
Food was great here at Dirt Dog. We came in the late afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Service was great and the food was out to us in less than 10 minutes and we had ordered 4 different items. We sat outside and they have a really great mural of Kobe. Would definitely come again!

Timothy P.

Yelp
Today is my birthday. Came here for a light snack and got a giant yummy and good portion size. Ordered the Asada Fries and Tacos, mind blown. The fries were crispy and all of the ratios were hit, asada:toppings:crispiness ratio. A perfect trifecta of flavors. And the tacos, omg, spicy, juicy, fresh. That's all I gotta say. Oh, and don't forget to take a dump to check out the dope bathrooms. Bring a marker!

Yelp
I've seen Dirt Dog adds now for a few years and finally made the trip to the location in Downey and my only complaint is that I didn't go sooner!! I tried the original bacon wrap dog which was fantastic. Much better than a lot of street dogs we'll find after a rave or a concert. These are all beef hot dogs which makes all the difference! we also had the chili cheese fries which were so good! I wasn't quite sure what to expect with those but they hit the spot. I also had a patty melt dog which was different but oh so good. The portions are big, the prices honestly are extremely reasonable especially considering how expensive life is getting out there. Service was great, location was clean and important the food was fantastic

Eric S.

Yelp
Extremely very nice customer service and clean and honestly amazing foods for the first time here in Downey would recommend it too friends and family

Naomi S.

Yelp
AMBIANCE : I visited the Downey location on Sunday after I was not able to visit the Vegas one. Upon entering the ambiance is set up as a warehouse with rap idols on the wall. I enjoyed the music that was playing , I think it is the first place where they played music straight off my playlist. The place was clean and not to much obstructing the pathways. I do think the place is quiet small considering the quantity of people are entering. Should consider expanding!? SERVICE I did not like the service but I really felt that they were understaffed during the time that I went. The ladies were super nice and they do bring everything out. They took a long to bring out the food and the dessert didn't come till the end of our meal. It worked out for us! The service could have been better but not a deal breaker! FOOD: The food made up for the bad service it was honestly great ! the elote dog is enough to bring anyone back it is not over salty nor spicy. The sausage is thick and the entire dog is filling. The asada fries were nothing special but my craving was satisfied. The deep fried Oreos are delicious and come with ice cream.

Ramon E.

Yelp
The vibe was fun and different. Even the graffiti in the bathroom seemed organic. The food was great and it came quick. Love the mural of La Reina Selena!

Karen K.

Yelp
Really good Dog !!! I so enjoyed it. Loved the fries "crispy" !! Service was really nice, as well. Looks like a comfortable hang out. Clean. I will go back !

Christy C.

Yelp
Was craving a bacon wrapped hot dog so decided to look up some places on Yelp. Found this place and it definitely did not disappoint. I ordered the house dog which is the most basic one. It comes with bell peppers, grilled onions, some sauces and bacon bits on top. It was very satisfying! I also decided to order a dirty esquite and that was also delicious. My hubby ordered the pastrami dog, let's just say we will for sure return to this spot in the future :) the service was good and very quick, the vibe inside was nice as well. They have cute, comfy booth tables and were playing corridos. It's a cool vibe :)

William R.

Yelp
Hi Tim - your Downey store needs your attention as it is in decay - the kids running it had the worst music with much foul language and next to me I had an entire family with three kids - this isn't the store I first visited - I know you are a bronco - CalPoly so take care of this store - if you sold it - it didn't fall in good hands... the tacos tasted great tough

Hugo G.

Yelp
First things first. This is a hot dog place. The food here is good. Is it priced fairly? It definitely is on the pricey side. Can't be comparing it to a $1.50 hot dog at Costco. You come here if you want something different with options to mix up the traditional hotdog. The DUI dog which I had, was a great mix of flavors, and honestly, it felt like I was drunk eating it because it is on the messy side. I'm a huge fan of pastrami and bacon, and combining it with the hot dog and Texas toast just elevated this to another level. They were not stingy with the portions, definitely stacked it and even needed a fork to finish it. It does not come with fries or a drink, so expect to pay extra for those. The spot is chill, and even had the UFC fight on the night I was there. Service was great, and everyone was super helpful when we needed more salsa or ketchup. I'm rating this solely on how good my order was.

Lynne M.

Yelp
Delicious food in amazing Laker decor, dessert yummy! The hot dogs are amazing and they also have tacos.

Baby G.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Micheladas are good. The vibe is great. I recommend. when you're feeling hungry come down to the Downey location.

Mariloly M.

Yelp
First time trying this place today. The place just switched owners and Yanet was super sweet. I haven't seen a restaurant so clean. I had to do a double take at the windows because it looked like there was no glass. I got the elote fries and the patty melt dog. They were delicious. Will definitely come back and I highly recommend it.

Tracey F.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the server, Shaday, was very engaging and sweet. We got the chili dog, house dog, and the dirty fries.

Bridget L.

Yelp
Yes I recommend, from my personal experience I usually order to bring home but yesterday we decided to dine in after my daughter got out of school my mom and daughter wrote their name on the wall , we enjoyed our dine in felt very welcome they are very nice people but let's not forget the cooks delicious food is served here . 10/10

Yelp
Title: Yelp List Letdown: Missing Sensibility and Balance Had this spot on my Yelp list due to all the positive reviews, pumped to check it out. The firehouse doors were promising, but reality hit hard. Waited 25 minutes for food, dessert ghosted us. Refund? Yeah, but no apology. All guys working there, lacking some female sensibility. The loud music and blaring TV added to the off-kilter scene. Was excited to visit, but the experience fell short. Supporting local businesses is great, but this place needs a bit of a revamp in service, vibe, and a more balanced crew.

Fraulein X.

Yelp
Found this place in Vegas. I'm so happy that it's near my hometown. The food was great! SERVICE was PHENOMENAL! SADE's service was above and beyond. @Dirtdog If you see this, please promote her or give her some sort of bonus! She has a great big smile and provides one of the best services I've experienced. Haven't seen service like hers in a long time. Will definitely visit again during the night time to see the ambiance at night!

Ryan M.

Yelp
A very casual laid back eatery that provides bacon wrapped all beef hotdogs smothered in a variety of different toppings creating a unique dining experience. Food was good if a bit pricey - 2 people got 2 hot dogs and made them meals, with orders of carne asada fries and a mango pineapple punch each and one churro and we spent $60.00 (For hot dogs!!...) Granted we were full but it was pricey for hotdogs. I would go again, but not too often on account of the price. They do sell beer which is a plus but God only knows how much it would have been had we had alcohol with our dogs. lol

P P.

Yelp
Food- Snoop's Dogg 5 stars Service- Gabby & Sade 5 stars Ambiance- Tribute to LA 5 stars

Louis P.

Yelp
Dirt Dog always hots the spot. Last time tried both the Red & Green dog, both Gotta go back and try the Snoop dog. I wish they would offer doff flavors tho. Its pretty much different variations of the same toppings.

D R.

Yelp
I order the pastrami dish dog and loved it. The dog was bacon wrapped and had a good snap. The service was good. My colleague didn't appreciate the ambiance as patrons have "vandalized" or signed/tagged the inside of the restaurant walls.

Ray R.

Yelp
Went here for the first time last night. Had the patty melt hot dog, I got the chipotle aioli on the side, I'm glad I did cause it's really spicy, and I'm not a huge fan of chipotle sauce, so the hotdog without the sauce was perfect for me it was really delicious. Also got the elote fries which is almost like esquite but in fry form wo the corn, again I had them put the chipotle aioli on the side and it was delicious just like that. My husband had the dui fries and he ate them all up and he had the dirty chili dog, he especially liked the chorizo chili. The service was good can't complain, they have indoor and outdoor seating

Ozzy R.

Yelp
You dirty dog you! Lol Hey man, I'm a fan for life. I had this a few times and this time I brought my kids to try it out. They loved it too. We got a variety of hot dogs, fries and drinks. I wanted to have room for the street corn but I got full fast. Let me say that no matter what location I go to, I get great service and the restaurants are always clean. Great ambiance and cool art all around. Our food took a bit but no problem. Worth the wait. All of our dogs were fresh, hot and delicious! We ended up ordering the one with fries and cheese, the snoop dogg, the spicy one and the DUI dog. The fries have some special seasoning. I taste tajin. Pretty good. Their house ketchup is super spicy lol I'm definitely coming back and I really want to shout out the crew working Saturday night. Keep up the good work. See you guys soon.

Monica H.

Yelp
Finally made it to @DirtDog... Wowzer! These are thee mother of loaded hot dogs! I had the pastrami dog on the lobster roll with garlic fries... My cousin had the patty melt on the lobster roll with elote fries... sooo good! Delicioso & party in your mouth lol! Brought home the DUI dog for my husband and we're definitely going back! ALL of the restaurant staff were super polite and helpful. The vibe and music was cool as well. Artwork on the walls, outdoor & indoor seating and very clean. The owner, Yanet, is a leader!! Highly recommend that everyone that likes street dogs try this location in Downey.

Priscilla V.

Yelp
Good hot dogs with a variety of toppings. Elote fries were my fave! Although it's a bit overpriced. But a good place to try.

Zlatko J.

Yelp
Had to give it a try after having drove past this small establishment over a dozen times... I had the Pastrami Dog, regular fries and fountain soda... it did not disappoint!! It was awkward to eat cleanly, but what hot dog is when you have many condiments all over it, haha... Restaurant is clean, service was good with food cooked to order, hot and fresh (see photo). For the price, the meal should be a combo with fries included, just my thought because a regular order of fries should cost that much... so for that I would say this a bit pricy, but the again, what is y these days ‍ I would still recommend that you at least give this place a try... especially if your like me and work in the area always looking for something different for lunch and wondering what's inside this little Dirt Dog restaurant. BTW... my meal was terrific!

Patricia U.

Yelp
O M G! This place was fabulous! Wonderful, helpful customer service!! Took my elderly parents who found this place. We all ordered something different. Each beef hot dog is huge, juicy packed with flavor. The buns are larger than the average hotdogs bun and toasted to perfection. Their chili has a slight kick, cheese is creamy and chili just spicy enough. Pastrami was perfect according to my Dad on his dog. Chili cheese fries worth every bite! The murals on the wall are well done! Kobe Bryant and Snoop Dog amo gst a few others. Go try it, so worth it! Hope we get one in the IE.

Wonjun S.

Yelp
When you want a heavy, soul-crunching experience out of a hot dog, this is the place to go. DELICIOUS hot dogs and so fulfilling. This is my go-to for hot dogs and I always recommend it to people. The ambiance is very LA/hip hop scene vibes and the service is fun and great.

Omar L.

Yelp
I got a reel on Instagram about this place. I'm not a hot dog fan. In fact, I avoid hot dogs because I believe they're made out of the meet of missing children but after selling how they put these dogs together, I had to try it. I was not disappointed. I'm 52 years old and tonight at dirt dog, I find out I like beer. Order the voodoo ranger. It changed my mind about beer. The hot dogs were exactly as advertised. I ordered three of them to sample. Even ordered chili fries. So good! I'm definitely going back. Fo sho

Dan R.

Yelp
Stopped here randomly because I was intrigued by the menu. I opted for the snoops dog and it was good but nothing I feel I need to rush back for. Bread was kinda dry n the dog needed more slaw for sure. Bacon on it was my favorite part. Worth trying.

Sergio Z.

Yelp
I have enjoy all types hot dogs all my life from school,Costco, fast restaurants,Wienerschnitzel and gourmet hot dogs and including international dogs like the Sonora dog and the Japdog and other different kind of hot dogs I have tasted. When I heard about this hot dog joint making not gourmet nor fusion they called it L.A.street food. My wife and I decided try the L.A. street food dogs we step in the restaurant I notice right away on the wall mural of Snoop Dog and mural inside the restaurant and outside. But we can here for hot dogs and we look at the menu we surprised there's a vegetarian hot dog. We looking at the menu and see what we like my wife decided to get the House dog and I decided to get the Snoop Dog and also you choose two type of bread for your dog and also we order garlic fries and street corn their version of street corn. My wife and I were looking how cool this restaurant is they were playing classic hip hop song it remind us the 80's and 90's songs. They brought our food it looks so good by the way wieners are wrap in bacon more meat that's way do more meat is better. My Snoop Dog looks so good I took a bite of it wow so good the wiener wrapped bacon add so much flavor including the Snoop Dog BBQ that so good but instead of cole slaw they put curtido a El Salvador condiments on the Snoop Dog and they more bacon on top. My wife enjoy her house dog she it's very good. We also enjoy the garlic fried very good and street corn amazing good they add bacon bit that blow my mind it was so good. We need to come back again with friends.

Diane A.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I recently went to Dirt Dog. These are the best hot dogs ever!! I had the Elote Dog with the toasted bun, he had the Snoop Dog. There was amazing flavor in every bite. Excellent customer service at register and when our food was brought to us. We felt so welcome there. The ambiance of Dirt Dog is a lot of fun with pictures everywhere. Definitely craving this again. Hope to be back soon and will tell my friends about Dirt Dog!

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Love this place hate that it's soooo pricey. I absolutely love that we have a location near us now and that I can get the dirty corn when I feel like it without having to drive on the 110

Reyna A.

Yelp
Such amazing quality buns and hotdogs with their unique twist on toppings. My husband brought me here on a surprise lunch date and we were both blown away. I chose the pastrami dog with elote (street corn) fries to share with my hubby and he chose the Snoop's Dog topped with bacon and coleslaw, both on a lobster bun roll that was buttered and toasted. The fresh diced pickle relish was deliciously crunchy on my pastrami dog along with the mustard and plenty of pastrami. Their should be a warning sign that YOU WILL GET DIRTY, with the food. Lol We loved the ambience too and the friendly service. The staff will bring your food to your table. The prices are reasonable for the gourmet hot dogs and fries. We will definitely be coming back. My son also loves this place. He said he has tried them all. Lol

Anne S.

Yelp
I got the Tapatio dog and elote fries in the side. I LITERALLY INHALED THIS HOTDOG AS IF I HAD BEEN STARVING FOR DAYS. it was just so good, I couldn't get enough of it, literally Lightly toasted, soft, buttery buns stuffed with perfectly grilled veggies and a thicc, juicy sausage with all the sauce and cilantro you can top it with. All I can say is: it was absolutely delicious. It had the perfect amount of heat from the tapatio hot sauce and subtle sweetness from the veggies that had the perfect crunch, making it the best hotdog I've had in ages I love this location because the parking is plentiful and it's easy to spot. The staff was so nice and attentive. Required to wear masks indoors if not eating. There's outdoor seating as well

Yelp
[UPDATE1: Review #658; 2 of 2] 2021 Yelp 100 Challenge (90/100) NOTE: This is part 2 of 2 due to lengthy review, so here's the rest of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Since we overstayed our lunch -- girl talk -- & had a couple of drink refills, I made multiple trips to the restroom at the back of the restaurant. En route, there's a large mural featuring female singing legends: Selena Quintanilla (aka "Queen of Tejano music"), Aaliyah Dana Haughton ("Princess of R&B" and "Queen of Urban Pop"), & Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. The restroom was spacious (I hate small/tight stalls where I'm bumping into the walls or door), well-stocked, & most importantly, clean! Dirt Dog's price points are on the higher side; however, these are not your ordinary hot dogs. They're flavorful & l-o-a-d-e-d with toppings & condiments!! I'd say they're worthy every penny. In addition to delish menu, you're also getting excellent customer-oriented service. Mai is not only friendly, she's very knowledgeable to provide you with recommendations that fits your taste buds. She stopped by our table a couple of times, refreshed our drinks & inquired how's everything; she has impeccable timing that we're not mid-bite while asking (it's a pet peeve of mine when eating out). How frustrating that can be... & you really shouldn't talk with your mouth full. :-X It wasn't until we were en route home that I realized we didn't get the Filthy Fries. In any event, we couldn't eat another bite since we were stuffed by the time we finished the decadent ice cream. I definitely need to try them on my next trip because of the toppings mixture. As I'm writing, H mentioned she loved the mini corn dogs. Besides, the fact that their bite-sized cute, she said it's just the right amount of batter to dog, & the crust is crispy & yummy. I didn't try any, but H knows that some corn dog batters are not or under seasoned so she understands if they're bland. I noticed H ate them as-is without dunking them in ketchup, usually that means they're properly fried too. I've seen her dump loads of ketchup because the corn dog was too dry or lacked flavor. I also liked that after H was done, the liner was not spotted with grease/oil so the mini corn dogs & fries were properly drained before serving. Two thumbs up!! Located in the heart of Downey, Dirt Dog offers up dopalicious gourmet dogs, exceptional service, & chill vibes that's a must for you to drop in. Swing by & have a l'il dirt... it's good for ya! ;-) Highly Recommended: Elote & Mutt Dogs, S&P Fries, Little Angels Mini Corn Dogs with Fries, & definitely save some room for the Horchata Ice Cream! Or get some Churros as a stand-alone treat!

Korinna H.

Yelp
We ordered the elote dog, snoop dog, dirty elote and a kids nugget meal. Everything was delicious and well priced. The hot dog was juicy and the best tasting dog I've ever had! The kids nugget meal was good quality and value. They also have a few beers on tap. The staff was kind and expedient. We will definitely come back!

Howard H.

Yelp
Service is typical for this type of restaurant except they actually brought our food to the table. So I'll leave a small tip for that. The guy was helpful with his recommendations. Ambiance is nothing special. Seats are are booth seats so they're comfortable. They have outdoor booth seats too but it was too hot to eat outside. Food. The elote dog was alright. I didn't think this option really played well as a hot dog. I did it to sample the elote and the hot dog itself. The lobster roll option was good. You get the traditional bread or lobster roll bread. The lobster roll bread was very soft and crispy. I'd assume the elote is good and getting the other dogs would be a better option. The asada taco was not a let down like most restaurants. It's not salty. They skimp on the onions and cilantro. The green salsa is nice. Red salsa I'd say is like a 4/10 spice. There are still street locations that serve better tacos but for street tacos in Cerritos this is better.

Yelp
It was 101 degrees today in Downey ca 8/10/2024 2pm we were not very hungry but a hotdog and and ice cold beverage would hit the spot I took my crew and ordered 4 dogs and 2 fries to share along with 4 fountain drink when we approached the fountain drink station a small taped on sign written in mark read NO ICE we went back to talk to the person taking orders and he felt that it was not a big deal and offered no resolution to our frustration . Tried to cancel and go elsewhere but it seemed like we were hassling him so we took our food and went to 7/11 and ate on the bed of the truck .

Yelp
After walking around the mall, we decided it was time for some delicious food! We looked around the area and was surprised to find Dirt Dog located down the street. We made our way over there and ordered almost everything! I haven't been to Dirt Dog in a while so we all decided to try something different. We got a patty melt, pastrami Dog and the newest addition to their menu the Snoop DOGG! We were also feeling a bit frisky so we ordered up some fries. The dirty fries were nicely seasoned, and the garlic fries were my favorite. The garlic sauce that came with the fries were amazing, I wanted to douse that sauce over everything. The pastrami dog was also really delicious, covered with so much meat, and that lobster bun is a must! The patty melt was really cheesy, and I loved the sauce. It had a wonderful flavor and the fries on top was actually a nice addition. The Snoop Dogg was probably my favorite. The barbecue sauce and slaw on top made it taste like a western bacon cheeseburger! By the end of our meal we were stuffed to the brim. But we had already ordered our Horchata ice cream, so we told our server we were ready, only to see that we weren't! The portions were huge! We must have received at least a pint of ice cream. The ice cream with that horchata syrup and walnuts, tasted super yummy. The churro was also delicious! If you are craving a dessert, I highly recommend their churros! If you're gonna go all out like we did, just make sure you have a party of at least 4 to 5! Always amazing food here at Dirt Dog. Super friendly staff, and very filling!
