Google
Friendly service and a pleasant, laid back atmosphere. The food was not particularly hot, and the burgers were a little too well done and the buns dry, but a tasty meal nonetheless.

Google
I really enjoyed the place! The food came swiftly, the drink was delicious (and I got it for 5£ during cocktail hours) and the shake was really well made. It was the first time I saw a Mac&Cheese Brisket Burger and it didn't disappoint! Left there satisfied and happy. And of course the decoration is pretty cool!

Google
American style comfort food: items such as chicken & waffles, Mac 'n' cheese are what your to expect: highly recommend. Dessert wise grab the "donut and coffee" (the other desserts seemed a bit too rich) - I'm a fan of timeless cocktails, and wasn't sure if their versions of the drinks would work, but ended up liking the Rhum Old Fashioned - it complimented the chicken waffles well. We were ushered to leave the table a bit early (we had less than 2h) and we couldn't hear the live music from the dining area but overall recommended for dinner.

Google
Dirty Bones was an overall positive experience, but there were some aspects that left room for improvement. The decor is pretty cool, but once you're inside i didn't realise notice it that much. The staff and service were mixed - some were friendly and chatty, others were more serious and even sour, so unfortunately it might come down to chance. The food was reasonably good but by no means amazing - the chicken was crispy and chips were good, but it was also quite greasy and in need of some seasoning. The drinks menu is pretty extensive unlike the food menu which, despite having some good dishes, is lacking some variety. There's a cool-looking bar area if you just want to drink. And then there's the toilets which you will need night vision goggles to use as the lights are so dim. Any brighter though and you'll be able to see through the door as they have a large frosted glass pane in them. Overall, despite having a good time in Dirty Bones I wouldn't recommend them too highly. It's not that they are bad, just that there are nicer places to eat in Kensington.

Google
Very tasty food, went for a birthday and service was excellent. Good music with a live DJ playing songs and creating a great atmosphere.

Google
This is a mixed review as we had some really great dishes, and some we were disappointed in. Cheesy fries - 7/10. Good portion, needed more truffle as we couldn’t taste it but the cheese sauce was great. Lamb fries - 10/10. The lamb was SO tasty and went great with the spice. Cheeseburger dumplings - 9/10. Very tasty, does what it says on the tin. Mac daddy burger - 5/10. Good idea, tasty mac, but poorly executed. There wasn’t enough sauce and the burgers were well-done so it came out pretty dry. Flavours were good but it was hard to eat. Service - 6/10. Staff were friendly on arrival and took our order quickly, but did not check back on the food and were not easy to make eye contact with if you needed something. Felt somewhat forgotten. Atmosphere- 7/10. Cool bar, but freezing cold in the aircon so our food went cold QUICK. Overall an ok experience but for the price, we would have expected more from the service and the burgers. Would probably go again for the fries though.

Google
Food was amazing. Would recommend trying the Southern Fried Donuts, also the Flat Iron Steak and the Crunchy Lamb Fries. The staff were great and so was the service. Will definitely visit again

Google
This is my second visit to a Dirty Bones chain, the food is incredible as is the decor. The staff are very friendly with a great attitude. On the food, I ordered fish tacos and it was simply a mouthwatering but delicate experience. Really enhanced by fresh lemon juice and light dressing.

Yelp
The brunch was going great...almost a 5 star review until the server behind up dropped an entire plate of food on my partners back. Ive never had an experience where someone does something like that yet nobody apologized or made sure anybody was ok. They continued about brunch like nothing happened. Theres food and stains all over his coat, shoes and jacket. Maybe its a British thing to be nonchalant when you have an accident but that totally ruined the experience.

Yelp
So I get there at about 1015, I actually have to approach someone to get a table. Then I'm told that they stop serving food at 10 o'clock, even though they close at 12. Total waste of time's. I have never been to an establishment and stop serving food two hours before they close. And the girl who was the waitress was extremely rude

Yelp
After reading the yelp reviews I decided to give Dirty Bones a go and I'm glad I did. The place is very throw back in the sense it has old school 90s rap playing for music and a New York City vibe to it. I was sat immediately and chatted with a few of the waitresses who worked there to see what they liked and what was popular. I ended up going for the Mac Daddy I believe it was called. I also opted for the lamb fries and thank god I did!!! I have to say those were possibly the best fries I've ever had in my life. They are covered in a jalapeño sauce that isn't too spicy, but has excellent flavor. The fries basket was also covered in red peppers and a lot of lamb. Seriously, the fries were divine. The burger was also good, but I'd recommend you ask for it cooked well...there was a lot of pink left in the middle of it (a little too much for my liking). I had a few beers that hit the spot as well. This place has great food and excellent service, I highly recommend it!

Yelp
I have to say, we walked around Notting Hill and Kensington for quite a bit before we stumbled upon this place. We were just looking for a good cocktail. This place exceeded all my expectations, not only providing good service but delicious cocktails. We ordered two drinks that were pretty fruity but definitely not too sweet (which is what were worried about). The drinks were well crafted and the service was great!

Yelp
On my first trip to London, our only plans were to visit the major sites, eat local food, and wing it. Found this place on Yelp on our first night and have to say we are so happy went here! Everything is so delicious, the mac and cheese balls with the chilli sauce, the classic burger, backed mac, dumpling burgers. We showed up late 10p (on a Wednesday) just as the kitchen was closing and they still took our order. The music vibe was 90s hip hop and RnB Jayz, Foxy, Brandy, etc. If you are looking for a good time, good food, and drinks this is the place to go. Oh yea, Fri/Sat they bring in a DJ!

Yelp
Dirty Bones is an NYC-inspired food and cocktail concept which has blossomed into a foursome of branches spread across London. This Kensington Church Street basement outlet was the first. Hipster interior, funky music, waitstaff with face piercings and a menu to match - how much cooler can you get? Thankfully I visited the restaurant in a large group and therefore got to try many of their offerings. The Classic is basically a kickass cheeseburger. It's one of two things whoever ordered enjoyed. The other was the Short Beef Rib, which I ordered. The meat on this Fred Flintstone sized serving was fall off the bone tender, and the sauce it came basted with was thankfully not overwhelmingly sweet. Sadly, I can't say the same about the Pork Belly Ribs which were bone dry, a huge disappointment. Other items we ordered were Padron Peppers (recommended), Flat Iron Steak (recommended, medium-rare), Chicken & Waffles, Crispy Lamb Fries (recommended), Summer Chopped Salad (boring) and the Gem Lettuce Salad. Service at Dirty Bones was friendly, attentive, accommodating and far better than I expected. Our table was looked after by a young girl with face piercings who reminded me of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, only prettier...and more patient. Dirty Bones is listed as 'not kids friendly' yet the 11-year olds in our group had fun. The teenagers had a great time and so did us old farts. Yeah, I liked this place. The food wasn't as good as I expected nor was the music (no DJ) but the ambience and service were top-notch. Would I go back? Probably. Hey! Yelp
Cool, American-style speak Easy restaurant and cocktail bar. Good music playing (90's rap night tonight). It's a "type", so make sure you're in the mood for that speak-easy/music vibe, and you should be happy. Menu is well balanced and service was excellent. Recommend the cheeseburger dumplings appetizer.

Mackenzie H.

Yelp
Was super excited to try this place, but I was really disappointed. While the service was great, the food was mediocre and the drinks weren't that good. The drinks were also quite pricy, but weren't strong. We had the Mac n cheese burger, the mac n cheese was really smoky and the burger was over cooked and very tough. This place is so cute on the inside and I wish the food and drinks were good, but they just weren't.

Mark B.

Yelp
Top Notch Food, Vibe was amazing, great classic hiphop playlist on when we ate. The drinks were good, fun cocktails which were made even better by the prices in 'cocktail hour' (£5 each or two local bottled beers for £6). Really great service, we had an awesome time and can't wait to go back.

Ray C.

Yelp
Thought we'd try this place out and have a burger. It was okay, but really nothing to write home about - just average. This is an 'American' style eatery with fried chicken, burger and hotdogs. Also expect steaks and mac and cheese. However the potion sizes were anything but America: quite small. The burger was overcooked (apparently this is another place that a medium rare is cooked through. Salad was okay, bun okay, chips okay but came covered in American cheese - yuk. Most redeeming feature was the slaw, that was pretty yummy. Although a bit on the expensive side for such a small portion. Overall cost was about average, although on the higher end of the average scale. I quite enjoyed the decent into the bar and the hipster vibe. They have some wonderful retro old goodies and it was a nice place. Maybe it didn't help that the place was pretty empty when we visited. We had planned to stay and chill out, but just ate our burgers and left, so we weren't there for that long, as there was nothing to keep us riveted. I think it could be fun if you went with a group. Appeased the burger fix, little else.

Dani D.

Yelp
The drinks and atmosphere are amazing here! Sadly, we had just eaten or we also would have tried the food. I'm a cocktail addict and my friend is a mixologist at a bar outside the city. So of course, we tried as many cocktails as possible! Their cocktails did not disappoint. We tried the Littlest Hobo, Uptown Spritz, and Top Dog. All were tasty but I think I liked the Littlest Hobo the most. The only thing criticism I have is that it is so dark that it's nearly impossible to read the menu near the bar in the back.

Peter H.

Yelp
Been here twice and enjoyed my meal both times. Had the burger the first time, juicy and filling. This last time I went with the fried chicken. Three big pieces, nice and tender. The waitstaff were attentive but not overbearing. Happy hour is a good deal. 2-1 beer or £5 specialty drinks. I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
When it comes to food, I am one greedy little piglet. I always order the biggest breakfast in the cafe, I'm prone to eat a large Dominos & sides on my own and there was that time with the bargain bucket that I try not to think about... My mum once described my brother Chris and I to her friend as 'the finest eaters' and whilst that wasn't my defining hour I can kind of see where she's coming from. So when Katy invited me to take on the MAC ATTACK CHALLENGE with her, I was sure I was going to kill it! The Mac Attack is the new food challenge dreamed up by the team at Dirty Bones. Three beef patties, two brioche buns, BBQ pulled pork, mac'n'cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onion. All on top of a pile of Dirty Fries with chilli cheese sauce, cactus salsa, grated cheese. All of this to be eaten in 10 minutes with no liquids. Now I won't lie. The preparation for this food eating challenge was a mixed bag of emotions. First I felt bravado - I can totally do this. Then I felt fear - like real genuine worry - before I settled with a mis-match of faux-confidence and anxious excitement. If you've been to Dirty Bones before, you'll know the restaurant is down in the basement below street level of High Street Ken. I got there early so I ordered a beer and waited for Katy to arrive. SCHOOL BOY ERROR NUMBER ONE. When taking on a food challenge, one should not drink fizzy drinks beforehand. In fact, according to Adam Richmond AKA King of all that is Man vs Food, you shouldn't really eat/drink very much on the day of the challenge at all (yes we googled his advice beforehand) He also recommends doing a "Shake Down Shimmy" half way so you know it's all very credible, scientific stuff Once Katy arrived, we were led through to the eating arena. I had my back to the kitchen so I had to keep surveying Katy's expressions for any sign that our impending burger boom was on it's way out. When her first dropped, I knew it was happening. The chef even stuck his head out the door to see who was taking it on AND LAUGHED. There was so much food oozing everywhere I didn't even know how to photograph it. Let alone eat the thing. All strategy and game plan was quickly going out the window. There was only one thing to do. Put down the camera, take off watches, tie back hair and SHOVEL.... So how did we do?! Wellllll not so great. I managed all three patties, all the pulled pork but a whole heapppp of carbs were left on the plate. But come on, there was A LOT of food and we really did try. The waitress even told us we'd done better than a lot of the guys that had attempted it. SO BE PROUD OF US Also only ONE person has ever completed it so you know, we didn't really have a chance... I'd love to tell you what I thought of the food, but I wasn't really thinking about flavours - more about getting it all in my gob. BUT the service is brilliant and the bar is well stocked with an awesome cocktail list so I'm keen to head back to try their menu at a more reasonable pace!

Lloyd J.

Yelp
Good vibe. The cheese burger dumpling were amazing. The pulled pork was good. The music was on point.

Catherine H.

Yelp
Had dinner here on a Friday night. We got several items on the menu and ate them family style - dumplings, fries, spicy chicken sandwich, fried Mac n cheese. I liked that they had alcohol-free drinks on their menu too. Everything was pretty good, but the fried items (chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese balls) had a weird purple sauce that we weren't a big fan of.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Perfect spot! Not a pretentious place. Warming environment + awesome staff. You can't go wrong. When you add awesome drinks = must try!

Karen Y.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. My burger was greasy goodness, and we left this place with a newfound conviction that all brunch dishes should have fried egg on them.

Marile R.

Yelp
Music on Friday's and Saturday's is awesome! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! So delish!

Amanda P.

Yelp
Excellent burgers and cocktails. Great live band on Thursday night that totally set the mood for a great night. The staff was excellent and fun to take with. Highly recommend!

Courtney M.

Yelp
5 stars for the atmosphere and live music - the girl singing was AMAZING. 2 stars for the food - so very bland. The menu makes everything sound so flavorful but it just didn't turn out as expected. The burger that had mac & cheese on it was just so boring, I couldn't taste any of the bbq meat and the burger patty was dry. The roasted butternut squash was just ok. Luckily the buffalo aubergines were good!

Char H.

Yelp
After seeing the menu online, my husband and I thought we'd give it a try. As you walk down some narrow steps your welcomed by doors that hold the anticipation behind what I found to give off an urban New York speakeasy type of bar. It's quite a small place to jam in but cosy, like a hidden den in the middle of Kensington. Having tried chicken and waffles Stateside, I had preconceptions of what it would be like. (I've tried Nas's Sweet Chick NY and Roscoes Chicken LA). Dirty Bones version wasn't too bad tbh I'm used to having the chicken dipped in a batter and then deep fried when combine with waffles and syrup but here it seemed a more healthier version of fried. It still tasted good with how it was cooked (pic added to the gallery). Portion wasn't too bad but maybe another piece of chicken wouldn't of hurt. As we visited during brunch, I'm intrigued to see what the dinner menu has to offer

Lauren G.

Yelp
I had no problem putting away the dirty dog. Fully equipped with Dirty Bones BBQ Pulled Pork, Crispy Bacon, Jalapeño Cheese Sauce and Crispy Shallots. Flavours were subtle but work together well without overpowering one another. Pretty much loved this piece of beef. You can also get it in Pork or Veggie. Like everything else in this saucy hideaway, it could of been a bit bigger. Also had the "Shadow' for desert (Malted Milk & Chocolate Ice Cream, Milk, Oreo, Chocolate Sauce) that tasted like magic star's but BETTER. Who do you know that doesn't love a cheeky packet (or two) of magic stars? Blows TGI Fridays Oreo shake out the game. Was very disappointed with the mac'n'cheese. I personally prefer it to have stronger flavours and a less stodgy sauce. Overall I would recommend a visit to Dirty Bones.

Kimberly Y.

Yelp
It's NOT a "5"honestly but the flavors.....exceptional. It's not fancy but for an Austinite who misses a great mix of flavors in London, it makes me happy to taste their food. Staff is super friendly upon arrival but the service is much too slow. It's weird. Both times I went, I was in no hurry but one time was on the early side and 4 staff members stood around and chatted next to the hostess stand and didn't even take my drink order for close to 10 minutes. Always courteous when show up, when taking your order, etc so I will return. Just bad on timing it when restaurant isn't even busy. Many guests went to seek out service. The food is so yummy though. Love the flavors.

Derek H.

Yelp
The dogs were tasty and the buns just right. We enjoyed our dinner here. Started with the half order of the fried chicken, better than KFC lol! The Brit dog has treacle bacon, and beer cheese. Tasty! The Mac and cheese was the best, real cheese not the fake stuff. You can pick a beef dog or pork or veggie. I'll be back to try the ribs. Had the milk and cookies for dessert a nice way to end the meal.

Christina L.

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for the last few months since it opened and finally had the chance to try it out! The waitress was very attentive and explained the menu to us patiently. We ordered the Asian Dog (£8) and Classic Yankee (£7.50) each- not entirely cheap- but you get a choice of either pork, beef or veggie sausage. The Dogs didn't disappoint- the pork sausages were meaty, juicy and every mouthful delivered on flavours. I will definitely go back and perhaps try the Burger Dog- the waitress talked us out of it since it is like a burger appearing as a hot dog. Thanks for the experience!

Devon M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with great food. If you're ever in the area ask for Yessica she was extremely friendly and helpful!

Jeff T.

Yelp
Raw chicken on 3 dishes and we suspect food poisoning of our son was sick the night after eating here. Wait staff was friendly and the fully cooked meals were ok.

Chad J.

Yelp
Good food. We had a large group and tried alot of the menu and everyone enjoyed the apps, meals, and deserts. Nice HH cocktail list as well. Only complaints would be it was a bit stuffy and warm I. The restuarant.

Nathaniel G.

Yelp
Best meal I've had so far on my trip to London. Service was quick and food was delicious!

Stacey B.

Yelp
A huge thumbs up. Don't miss happy hour until 7 for their yummy half price cocktails :) The decor is awesome too! Food wise, we had the burger, mac daddy and chili fries- all top notch, if a bit on the smaller side. Service was great and we will definitely be back.

Daniel F.

Yelp
I actually was passing this place one day and managed to get a spot while it was packed. It's a nice space inside. Not too light though, but nice all the same. I liked the pulled pork dog though I honestly don't think it's anything special. Maybe it's because I Like my hot dogs less gourmet more NYC sidewalk style. But the hot wings and Mac Daddy burger with it's mac and cheese gooeyness stole my heart a bit more. In general I feel it's easy to do these type of americana style restaurants and Dirty Bones here does some of those things well. though it's caught in between clean cut and filthy living. Maybe it's trying to be both but I can't help feel this type of cuisine is a bit too clean cut for me.

Fos G.

Yelp
This place is like Bone Daddys of the hot dog world: everyone's like OmagaaahThisPlaceIsLikeAmazeballsAndIPutALongSausageInMyMouth but... it's just a lot of hype for me, much like Bone Daddies is for ramen. I mean, it's not bad, and whenever I feel the need to shove a long, hard, dripping piece of meat in my mouth, this is place is definitely on the radar. But will I bring my absolute besties here to savour the succulence? I think not. We tried an Asian Dog, a Classic, a Dirty Yankee and they were good, as were the starters, but I didnt cry, and when I dont cry it means that it's a three star place.

Prescott M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Staff was super kind and welcoming. Food was delicious. Plus unique and tasty cocktails. Glad to have discovered it!!!

Gabriela G.

Yelp
Quite busy, bur very tasty food, service was ok. There are nights with live dj which makes music pretty loud and we had to shout to hear ourselves when we talked with each other. Overall though, pretty good, would go again on a quieter night.

Amber J.

Yelp
So welcoming, totally tasty, the mutts nutts! Had a fantastic, chilled evening at Dirty Bones. We stumbled across it and didn't have a reservation but the host guy made us feel really welcome and found us a table. He took time to run through the menu bad even made a few (welk founded) recommendations. The food portions were ideal for snacking and chatting long into the evening, and the staff were relaxed about how we ordered - at no point did we feel rushed. Loved the style of this place and the relaxed atmosphere, the music was the perfect soundtrack to the evening, will definitely be returning and making a regular meeting point with friends, both old and new.

Emily B.

Yelp
Great brunch! Had the breakfast fries as a main. Excellent house ketchup. Portions are reasonable, but not excessive. Bottomless filter coffee is a good option. Coffee is above average for restaurant quality. Fun atmosphere, friendly servers, highly recommend!

Collette T.

Yelp
Food was good, they even have options for a vegetarian! The place has a great vibe and I have eaten here twice. Service both times was a bit slow, that would be my only complaint.

Agathe T.

Yelp
Great music and nice venue. However it is a bit empty on a Saturday night. If you are out with a large group of friends, this is the place to go. You have tables, good music and you can still talk if that is what you want. Underrated.

Krini P.

Yelp
The food came really fast even though the place was busy, and it all tasted delicious. We got the lamb fries, fried chicken, and Mac Daddy and they were insanely good. The atmosphere is also really hip and cool without it being over the top or trying too hard. The staff was really friendly and helpful too, and the prices totally reasonable! Highly recommend!

Kristy A.

Yelp
Food and service were great. Good location and ambiance. The drinks on the bottomless brunch were unique and delicious. Recommend as a fun place to have a nice brunch!

Charlotte J.

Yelp
Great venue! You feel the atmosphere as soon as you walk down the stairs past the neon signage. Drinks specials until 7pm and not just any old watered down cocktail that you usually receive for a 2-4-1. The menu has options on there to tantalise any tastebud. Be prepared to enjoy yourself!

Rei P.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience here! The food was delicious and the vibe was on point. We stopped by in hopes of watching the World Cup game. They were able to fit us in and were very kind and accommodating. This place was well run, with great wait staff and the food coming in a timely fashion. I would recommend this place to everyone.

James B.

Yelp
Fell in love with this place from the moment we walked downstairs, warm welcome and seated immediately. I had the pleasure or trying a chicken burger and a beef burger and its safe to say I Loved them both, the vanilla milkshake took longer than the food to come out but the wait was worth it! Best milkshake I have ever tasted.

Brooke T.

Yelp
We had a group of 5, all ordered different things, and all left nothing on our plates! The food was so good and 2for1 drinks before 7:00pm! Our waitress was very nice and extremely tentative to our needs. We will be coming back!
