Dirty Bones Carnaby - Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Our main pet peeve about Dirty Bones it that they proclaim on their website to serve food that is “New York Influenced”. That’s all well and good, but it also doesn’t really mean anything. New York influence on food is as varied as it is in London. Sure, hot dogs and bagels and pizza are a big part of the city’s DNA, but it’s also so much more than that. Regardless, Dirty Bones’ definition of New York food is fried chicken, burgers, BBQ, and yes, hot dogs. For the purposes of this review, we’ll go along with it. Generally, this places is one big pile of mediocre. The one dish we do have some fondness for is the lamb topped fries, something we’ve never encountered in New York. That said, it would easily make the “top ten chips in London” list that we will certainly write someday. Beyond that, Dirty Bones is basically a decent place for some cheap and reasonable eats, but we have no problem coming out and saying that it’s not as good as many people make it out to be. And if that’s not New York City, we don’t know what is." - Eileen Twum

Excellent service and attention to detail by the service staff (an example being that we were celebrating and so at the end of the meal were given a complimentary shot, though the server/team, noticed that we were not drinking alcohol and made it non-alcoholic, which was pleasing). The food itself was delicious and great portions. The lamb ribs were some of the best ribs we have ever had and we left feeling very full and satisfied. Will definitely be recommending to friends and will certainly return.

Stopped by here for snacks before the theater (which is very conveniently located). We had a drink and some appies. The service was good, the food was good (lots of spicy choices so beware of that). We found London expensive and this was pretty typical as well.

Stumbled upon this on our way home from a day out in London. Hands down one of the best little restaurants we’ve been to! Everything was perfect. The flavour of the food was incredible and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Would love to come back and try other items on the menu!

90's hip hop music was perfect vibe for this little place. I ordered Mac and cheese and chicken tenders. They were delicious and filling. He ordered a burger and fries. Everything was so good!

Didn't want to leave a negative review due to the issues they faced during my visit, but there's no excuse for poor service even when experiencing technical problems. Upon arriving, it took over 5 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we were left for over 15 minutes before being serviced. Before we were ever serviced, I went up to the bar myself to get a jug of water for the table. After being serviced, it took about 10/ 15 minutes before drinks were given to us. Then, a server can over about 10minutes later to let us know 'due to the technical issues we're experiencing (even though they were experiencing these issues before our arrival) we will not bring serving food'. My simple response was,'Can you not just tell the kitchen what we want, rather than needing a computer system to let them know?'. Which soon resolved the huge technical difficulties they were facing. All in all. Service needs improvement, but from what we had food wise, it was nice.

A mixed bag. I had the "so fly" burger which was lovely, and the skinny fries were delicious. My son had the OG chicken but he struggled to eat it as it was so crunchy and had little actual chicken. The cheesecake and Ice cream doughnuts were both amazing but I found my passion fruit milkshake disappointing as it just tasted like vanilla. The service was slow. When our plates were taken we weren't asked if we wanted dessert so had to try to catch someone's eye for ages afterwards. Then the same with the bill. I didn't appreciate the 12% tip being automatically added. I know you can ask to take it off but that's always awkward. It was a hot day meaning the windows were open. Unfortunately the overflowing rubbish from the bins outside and overflowing people on the streets from the Devonshire made it a very smelly and loud with them open. I hate giving 3 stars to a small business but it seemed fair overall.

Dirty Bones Soho: A Yank Diner Does Soho with Savvy Dirty Bones Soho offers a lively slice of Americana right in the heart of town, and it manages to pull it off with a good dose of London charm. The atmosphere's got a proper buzz about it, the kind that suggests a good time is practically mandatory. Our waitress, Theresa, was an absolute gem. Friendly as you like and always on hand without being intrusive – a real credit to the place. On the drinks front, a simple water did the trick for some, but the PICKLEBACK was a curious and rather successful experiment – that briny pickle juice giving a cheeky kick after the bourbon. The Margarita was a solid effort too, well-balanced and refreshing. The starters set a playful tone. Those Corn Ribs were surprisingly good, all charred and sweet. But the Cheesy Truffle Fries? Utterly decadent, a proper indulgence. Then there were the CHEESEBURGER DUMPLINGS – a clever little invention, those gyoza packed with burger flavour and that signature sauce adding a nice bit of oomph. For mains, THE CLASSIC burger did exactly what it said on the tin – a top-notch double patty with all the right bits. No messing about, just a proper good burger. The CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN was another winner – seriously crispy skin and juicy meat, with those little shots of hot maple and cool ranch allowing for a bit of customisation. All in all, Dirty Bones Soho delivers a tasty and enjoyable experience. Theresa’s excellent service certainly added to the charm. If you're after some hearty American fare with a bit of Soho swagger, you could do far worse than paying them a visit. You'll likely leave feeling rather satisfied, and perhaps a little bit naughty. A perfect dining experience if you want a combination of New York styled food mixed with Korean street food. The quality of the food was perfect, the addition of sauces made it even better and everything was well seasoned. The quantity of the cheesy truffle fries was huge, which was great. Reasonable price for the quality of food. Would go again, highly recommend! 10/10 !!
