PJ’s Coffee Chain ‘Removes’ NOLA Franchisee For Crude Comment on Lebron James Post | Eater New Orleans

"At the French Quarter location owned and operated by brothers Stephen and Roy Bruno at 630 Chartres Street, Stephen Bruno Jr.’s reply to LeBron James’s “Protect our young Black women and men” post — “Eat a [eggplant emoji]” — sparked public criticism after being identified on Twitter, leading PJ’s corporate to say he has been removed as a franchisee; commenters have questioned whether that means he was fired, temporarily removed, or will simply no longer serve as the public face of the shop." - Clair Lorell

I was magnetically pulled into Dirty Coast. The vibe is funky, original and classy all at once. Aesthetically evocative like lightning. Great art and gifts. Not touristy. The inner sanctum of the whole experience is the captivating energy of the staff trio - Bradley, Greg and Sydney. They are a curious and fun mix of authentic New Orleans all behind one counter. Engaged, hospitable and memorable - perfect people to represent the store. The whole experience was on the level of telling anyone I know traveling to New Orleans - go check out the Dirty Coast!

Had a great time at the reopening of the Jackson Square store - what a fun group of people! Wide selection of “UNIQUE “NOLA gear and jewelry. Something for everyone in our group.

The BEST place to get NOLA gear! Whether you’re grabbing souvenirs or want to show your hometown pride, Dirty Coast has exactly what you need. They reference NOLA lore, jokes, slang and people/characters. All designed by born and raised New Orleans locals. It is a must do stop. You can leave New Orleans without a Dirty Coast product. We got the NOLA Nike style hat, their custom deck of cards and a few t-shirts but we will be back for more no doubt! Thanks to Caroline and the rest of the team for making our visit so special! See you next time!

The store is beautiful! The customer service was Ah-mazing!! I bought 3 things from here for my daughter for Christmas and she looooved all 3! The later gator door mat makes it feel like home. The street tile magnets are decorative and so much fun to play with and leave messages. The Nola bucket list book has brought many laughs and “ I’ve done that’s “. In a world where customer service barely exists anymore…Dirty Coast is an exceptional find! Love Love Love this store!! 🐊💚

This is just the best little shop I’ve seen in a while. The style, attitude, and curation of custom culture items sets this place apart, and it’s fun. Great job guys. This was my first visit but I’ll be back

Some of the coolest and best t-shirts in New Orleans! These are designed and created by local artists. These are not the same old shirt you find in every single tourist trap shop! These are all unique and very NOLA! At the time while visiting they had some fantastic and really great sale items that me and my wife took advantage of! Not only that but they offered free shipping on orders over a reasonable price so we didn’t have to buy and pay for an extra bag to fly stuff home! They also put in some extra freebies that made my day brighter after being depressed by coming back home from a vacation to NOLA! Love the city and love Dirty Coast! Will definitely be making more purchases when I’m back in town!

Yelp
It was our last day in NOLA and I still needed a few gifts for friends, I'm so glad we entered this cute lil store! They have something for everyone, stickers, shirts, socks, soaps.... I even found the most perfect lil gator ornament for my Xmas tree!! The store is very clean and organized, customer service was great and we were in and out very quickly. I will definitely stop by again on our next trip!

Yelp
There's more than meets the eye when it comes to traveling: The pit stains from too much walking. The desperate searches to find a bathroom. The hesitant decisions to buy a souvenir, not knowing if it's too touristy, kitschy, expensive, or all of the above. Does Instagram see any of that? No. But Yelp can guide you in the right decision of a delightfully authentic and quirky souvenir that captures the ethos of the city. I stumbled into Dirty Coast's French Quarter location, seeking respite from the smothering humidity and fully thinking that it would be a cookie-cutter souvenir shop hawking generic goods, like one of the others I had cooled down in earlier. I've never been happier to admit that I was wrong. If you know, you know -- and that was clearly the north star for all the items I found in here. Insider cultural references were everywhere in a way that felt inviting: Patches that said "swamp ass." Candles that smelled like a blend of coffee and beignets. Pouches that looked like a New Orleans parking violation sleeve, one of which I eagerly purchased.

Yelp
Awesome souvenir shop in the French Quarter. I liked the selection here more than the better-known Fleurty Girl. Really great place to get something to take home as a reminder of your trip. A lot of local artists' merchandise. I got a really cool shirt, and there was a Memorial Day sale going on so I was even more stoked. Staff were friendly.

Yelp
One of my favorite stores! I'm always ordering online but had the opportunity to purchase in-store this past weekend while in town. Such amazing customer service and I love the store's values. Customer for life!

Yelp
Let me tell you how much my life has improved since finding Dirty Coast and her amazing crew in the French Quarter. First, never will I ever have that "what do I get so and so for a gift?!" problem because Dirty Coast has something funky, eclectic, endearing and just plain COOL for everyone. And I emphasize everyone because their gifts, gear, art, socks, and souvenirs are also inclusive and connected to the NOLA community and that's downright special. Dirty Coast isn't just a store, it's a hub for humans to connect and it's a beautiful thing. And let me tell you about the people who bring this store to life. In a word: fabulous. It's no surprise that an enterprise so unique, funky and chic is upheld by good humans who reflect the spirit and genuineness of creative community and good will towards all. Everyone I've encountered in the store is not only super helpful and stellar at their job, but they're genuinely lovely to be around and make you feel welcome, like you belong. The manager at the French Quarter spot is top notch and she's a total bad a$$! Now get yourself on down to the Dirty Coast!
