As always my kids have a great time. I know I enjoy the fact that they changed the exhibit fairly often. I do wish they had seating for taller people. My husband is very tall and there’s really no seating for him except for outside. Everything‘s very low, which I understand. It is a kid museum, but when the kids are drawing or their excavating dinosaurs, it would still be kind of nice to be able to sit down.

Google
Our first time at the Discovery Center, and we will definitely be back. The staff was very welcoming and helped us purchase tickets at the door. There was so much for the children to do, but it was presented in a great way - not overstimulating. Art, music, dramatic play, water .. and more! The kids' favorite part was the slide going from the top floor down to the bottom. Outside, the trails were beautiful, and we were able to see a variety of animals.

Fantastic! I loved how all the exhibits were interactive and fun! My three year old had so much fun we bought a membership! Now not a week goes by the we haven’t visited at least twice! 🤣❤️

Josi Carter

Google
My kiddo really enjoyed the Discovery Center! Really only need an hour at her age, but for younger kids I could definitely see it being a bit longer. The staff was nice and the facility was clean and well run! It’s not huge, but it’s so reasonably priced that it’s worth it ☺️

Google
Great place for 2_8 years old. And you can get the annual pass with great price because kids this age don't mind to repeat activities/ games. Plus there are plenty of activities and games for them to switch out. It is 20 min drive for us so each time we go, we spend average about 1_2 hrs, but it can easier go from 4_6 hours long. They don't have food court so I would said 4hrs. The set up upstairs change frequently, so there will be new things to play.

Google
We had an amazing time at this children’s museum! There are two full levels packed with fun, interactive activities for kids of all ages. From hands-on pretend play areas to engaging story times! One of the highlights was getting to see and even pet a live snake—such a cool experience for our toddler. The outdoor area was also a huge hit with our family, especially the kid-sized outdoor kitchen and the mini waterfalls where we spotted a few fish. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to spark creativity and curiosity.

Google
This is a great place for toddlers. Lots of things to do! The giant water tables and tiny town are our favorite spots. I recommend getting the membership for the whole year (~$70). It's cheaper than paying $12 per person each time. The security guard and front desk staff are very nice. They also have drinks/snacks in the souvenir shop that come in handy on long play days.

Google
Amazing place for kids of all ages. I attended on a school trip with my granddaughters.

Yelp
We have a membership here and frequently visit. If you have more than one child and plan on visiting more than a couple times a year then I would definitely check out their membership options. For us, the membership pays for itself in a couple of visits. I love that the upstairs exhibits change frequently. The art room always has a great theme with great crafts and activities. There are areas for larger kids, 2-6, and even under 2. No matter what age your kids are, you will find something. There are wetlands to explore outside and a small outdoor play area.

Yelp
This place is super cute ! My girls 5 & 7 had a blast! Staff was very friendly and engaging. The place was very clean and well maintained.

Yelp
Great place for kids to roam and have fun. It's very spacious and can get very crowded especially when there are field trips. It was our first time here and we definitely loved it! We are considering a membership. To my knowledge, they do not sell any snacks or drinks, but you can bring your own. The gift shop is overpriced so you may or may not want to keep your little ones away from there lol Overall, we enjoyed the discovery center. Seems like my son loved everything! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Visited Dec 16, 2023. Visits here are affordable. Might be worth investing for a membership if coming multiple times. Fun for all ages, though in my opinion ages 2 - 7 would find the experience most enjoyable! My little one (LO) loved it! We came after hours for a private party and the gift shop was closed. I think they should invest into a short blocking gate like how Home Depot has to keep guests away. I had to argue with my LO who wanted everything! I had to tell her they were not for purchase many times, and you know how that goes for toddlers haha! The facility is handicap friendly with elevators for anyone in need. The hands-on water structure/play area near the stairs - so neat; just prepare for wet sleeves! They provide aprons but my LO still managed to get her sleeves wet! My favorite part was Toddler town! Everything was sized for them. Something about little everything and watching them imitate adults is hilarious! There's a single family restroom available in town but not sure where the main restrooms were. Upstairs has trains, modeled cars, and currently Paw Patrol play sets for kids to slide n jump around. Definitely check this place out if you're close by with your littles! They are a stand alone building with plenty of free parking.

Yelp
This was such a great little random find! We were looking for a nice spot to take an easy stroll and this was perfect. We loved walking around the wetlands watching to see how many animals we could see and saw quite a few including an outer, turtles, several different birds, etc. There's also a small outdoor playground and public restrooms near the start of the walkway. We didn't visit the inside as it was closed and we were really just there to walk the trail areas. A great spot to take the kids and have them spot animals in their natural habitat!

Yelp
Great spot for rainy days and getting your kids to burn off some energy. There are two levels here with the more advanced stuff up stairs. The lower level is filled with tons of educational stations and interactive exhibits all about; nature, the human body, weather patterns, and the upper level having music stations a huge train set, and a hands excavator station. Since everything here is interactive and touchable the staff walks around and sanitizes everything once kids have moved on. Masks are suggested, but not mandatory, but maybe just wear it with large amount of runny noses and phlegmy coughs that I noticed during my visit. You can't beat the price here, $8 a person with infants being free. Tons of activities, arts & crafts, and educational fun for all!

Yelp
This is a beautiful children's museum that seeks to be disability inclusive. The exhibits offer children great opportunities to engage with science principles and nature. It's a wonderful day for families!

Yelp
Visited the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring with my grandchildren today. Now this place is LOUD when it is packed with kids running from one exhibit to another. They have a room for small children to crawl and play on thickly padded mats along with toys to entertain them. The exhibits and opportunities for interaction range from role playing (Dr, Nurse, Postman, Grocer, etc.) to building structures with awesome foam tinker toys. The water exhibit, twisting slide, and fire truck get a lot of attention here...difficult to see how a kid could get bored here. You can also walk the gardens and nature wetlands seeing the history of the area along with wildlife. Overall a great facility and well maintained based on how many children visit here every day. I did see employees constantly working to keep things clean and sanitized...not an easy task but the efforts were there.

Yelp
When a business allows grown men to enter the women's restroom simply because they're wearing women's clothes, you lose customers. That is not protecting and caring for children. Have a gender neutral bathroom option but don't allow women in the men's room and don't allow men in the women's room. It's not that hard. We are cancelling our school's field trip and not recommending a place that doesn't put the safety of children as a top priority.

Alex L.

Yelp
My toddler absolutely loved it here. There's lots to do and see. Also the outdoor area and walking path is beautiful.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
The nature reserve path has been blocked off for months for unknown reasons. We used to take a walk here every morning, it just sucks they haven't been able to keep up the maintenance.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a little something to do for kids to get out of the house. Not a huge place. Since covid they have increased their capacity. They do have a nice outdoor walkway. And scenic playground. Kids under 2 free. $8 for adult entree fee not bad at all. Some of the play house tiny town for kids ages under 5 could used some cleaning and upgrade toys. Reviewing their calendars they have special occasions for arts and crafts. Kids can play all day. They close early at 3:30 on weekends. But overall worth the fun and affordable party event planner place.

Julie P.

Yelp
This was a monumental disappointment. I would expect for the admission fee that the exhibits would be in working order; many of which were not. It was full of unruly children who were not supervised. It was ungodly loud and the bathrooms were filthy. Never again.
google avatar

Cassidyshea R.

Yelp
Drove up to check out this museum today. Was neat! Had a big Choo Choo, old fashion Automobile, and a Big Firetruck! PLUS- really cool super slide my kid refused to enter. My kid was mesmerized by the grocery convayor belt and the coal worker/ Choo Choo train exhibit areas. Nice day trip to check out the area! Wanna go back and check the outside marsh in the summertime :)

Yelp
Love this place- except sometimes they don't monitor the toddler room and have kids older than 5 wandering into the area and being too physical with babies. Our son loves it here though.

Emily R.

Yelp
Literally the BEST place for toddlers in all of middle TN!!!! I wish they had one of these all over! It is completely worth the drive out to Murfreesboro. So much fun, clean, organized, and so creative! HIGHLY recommend!

Amy K.

Yelp
sure would be nice if you'd be open during the week. consider closing Sundays so Tuesdays can be open. More families are home now during the week - more home schooling - more parents with at home jobs & flexible schedules. We need places to take kids during the week more than on the weekends.
google avatar

Deanna A.

Yelp
Perfect day for a walk around the wetlands. The path is well kept and perfect for spotting wildlife. Its so much fun to watch the ducks, muskrat, otters, turtles, racoons, and the many types of birds and more. It is a great area to walk the dog or take the whole family. And offers wonderful learning experiences as well.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Our 20-month and his cousins had a blast. We love the indoor play places, but this is more museum-ish with so many different activities. You can play steel drums, become an auto mechanic and work on a car, play with trains, and a conveyor belt at a little grocery story. The whole thing was so much fun - he could have spent all day there. His favorite was the water table - so many things to do. They have plastic bibs to keep the kids clean and dry, but my kid wanted none of that. So we got dirty and wet and at one point I'm pretty sure he just started drinking the water. So gross. We're not from the area, so unlikely we will be back anytime soon. But I would totally get a memebership and come all the time if we were nearby!

Yelp
Took my niece and daughter here for the first time today and I was very pleased with everything. We came soon after opening so most things were still in there place and there wasn't many kids yet. For a two and three year old there was so much to do. The rock digging and tiny town were the two biggest hits. The turtles were also a hit!! I took my ten year old nephew with Just for extra hands and to get him out of the house. There wasn't much he was interested in but we already figured there wouldn't be from the beginning. He did have fun playing with the girls though since they were having a blast. I think the membership feature is great and will most likely get that in the future as I can tell we will make a a few trips out in the next year.

Yelp
Although not as large as Adventure Science Museum in Nashville, this seems to be better maintained & offers enough indoor & outdoor activities to merit exploring. But, like most of these centers, it suffers from lack of maintenance & high prices. The expectation isn't for everything to work all the time, but instead an active daily maintenance plan. The staff could be more involved in activities & maintenance rather than surfing the internet during average & peak hours.

Skylar R.

Yelp
Took my 2 year son here last week. He had a great time running around this place. There seemed to be a lot of fun stuff for a wide age range. The staff was incredibly kind and it wasn't too packed.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
I went for free, which was good as there was not a lot for me to amuse myself with other than looking at some of the trainsets. My 2-year-old however had a blast. Everything was tiny, she could get to almost everything with no help. Everything was hands on. I felt there wasn't a particularly unifying concept other than "ooh lookit this!" but for a 2-6 year old, that's pretty great. Nothing was broken when we were there (father's day,) although the place looked pretty well worn and in need of some TLC. There's a huge water table there, and I thought I'd never get Maggie to leave it. It was like Monkey's Treehouse or some similar toddler bar, except with a lot of stairs and exhibits that didn't really feel like they went together (animal skins, a wheelchair-driven DJ mixer (left wheel fader, right wheel scratch), a trainset that only runs at certain times, mini coal mining, tiny town, fire engine, bunch of model airplanes, Penny Farthing (old timey bike)) That said, the two year old had a blast, I didn't catch what the pricing was on the place though

Yelp
The Family and I needed something to do yesterday that was inside because of a rain storm. My wife suggested this place and at first I was hesitant, but now after seeing the inside of this place I can say that we will definitely be returning. The exhibits and activities have been painstakingly curated to be entertaining unique and most importantly fun for the kiddos. I have a 19 month old toddler and although a majority of this place may be geared towards kids a bit older than her, she still had an absolute blast. I would say that this place is on par with, if not better than the adventure science center in Nashville.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
The kids 6 and 2 both really enjoyed it. They had a blast. But the price for us was a little steep. Other than that they really enjoyed it. The place wasn't busy at all when we went. The only down side was the water feature, not all the parts to it were working. We paid $32 for all of us. And where there about 4 hr or so. The dinosaurs was our sons favorite not a large selection but big enough.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
I am not a fan. First off, if you're going to make me pay for myself, you'd better at least keep the place well maintained! The first place we went inside was the Tiny House. The lock board was broken. The house was empty except for a baby doll with no arms. Then on to the grocery shopping area, complete with 1 onion and a bunch of potatoes. What happened to all the other produce?! The archaeological dig had nothing to dig up! $12 is entirely too much for 1 kid (& me, right?) when it's not maintained as it should be. We have more fun at the park. Next time, I will just drive to Nashville.
google avatar

Carli H.

Yelp
Great place. Could use a little maintenance but not to the point that we wouldn't come back. My 3 year old loved the big slide and the turtles and my husband and I enjoyed the wind tunnel (not so much the 3 year old lol!). Fun place all around!
google avatar

Randall F.

Yelp
We just took our twin daughters (16 months) to Discovery Center and loved it. It is full of great activities for the kids and age-appropriate play areas. Their favorite part was the water table which could have provided hours of excitement. at $6/adult it is really a pretty good deal. I will be looking for a half price groupon so that I can enjoy it more often with my family.
google avatar

Tamia T.

Yelp
Not sure if I'm used to the adventure Science Center in Nashville, but this place was nothing like I expected. They are very tiny, staff and other visitors were very rude. Not sure we'd ever come back here. Rather take the drive to Nashville and go somewhere else.

Lee J.

Yelp
I took my 5 year old grandson to Discovery Center yesterday. Although he had a good time, I was very disappointed. I wasn't worth the admission price. There were a few things that didn't work at all. A lot of the other exhibits were old and wore out. The water in the water exhibit that the kids have their hands in stunk like it hadn't been changed in quite some time. It is really in need of an update.

Yelp
Discovery Center Murfreesboro Tennessee great place fun for the children my daughter and I have visited this place it was wonderful and this stuff out of his friend as they would show you around you feel comfortable now Doris beautiful for the summer I would definitely come back again., the fire truck it is so cool children will off to climb in and out, the summer is beautiful when everything is green and a half activity would you could find and Ani animal or creature who lives there, and the price of admission and its not that much expensive it is so under $10 so should be great if you have a family on a children under 16 take it there but even adult is a good day to is a good place to go for a date as well if you like. Route.
google avatar

Callie G.

Yelp
This is a fun place to take kids to once or twice a year. My pro-tip would be to visit on a weekday to avoid crowds. It can get pretty packed on the weekends. They have a nice little outdoors area as well with some picnic seating. (There are no food vendors inside, so be sure to pack a lunch!) Exhibit changes are a bit slow, we might would stop by more frequently if they had new offerings.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
We are members at the Discovery Center and absolutely love it!! I have two boys. One that is 7 months and one that is almost 2. There are things that both of them can do! We love the kids town. There is also a play ground and walking path outside. My son loves going out to look at the ducks :)

Kelley U.

Yelp
The discovery center is a fun and educational place for my two children (ages 4 and 1). There is an abundance of activities for both age levels to enjoy. We have a membership to the discovery center and go at least one time per week. The staff is extremely friendly! We love it!
google avatar

Deserae S.

Yelp
We've been here a few times and the kids had fun but it sure could use some maintenance. We went again today for a field trip and nothing has changed since the last time we went. You would think with all the money they bring in they could update here and there. Especially the outside. The water areas was disgusting. It's not like the kids would be actually playing in it but it's def an eye sore! But it's for the kids and all that matters is they had fun. But a little update would be amazing for this place!
google avatar

Adina M.

Yelp
We bought a membership when it was half price through Savvy Source. My son LOVES this place. I like that there is a toddler area and that there is a part of changing exhibits. My only complaint is that the opening to the stairs are really wide and open and I'm always afraid a smaller child is going to go running off and get down them or fall. I wish they had it blocked or with a gate or something so it was safer for smaller children.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I don't have a kid but I come here all the time with the boy that I nanny. LOVE THIS PLACE. There's so much to do and see, it's really a great treat for the kids in the Murfreesboro area. The staff is extremely friendly (and helpful if I have any questions). I really appreciate their attitudes and willingness to help. Definitely recommend this place to parents/babysitters/nannies!! This place is perfect for ALL kids.
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
Great for kids. You could spend the whole day in this place and not discovery everything. They have so much hands on learning for children. It stimulates all the senses. My son never wants to leave when we come here. If you live close enough to spend time here on the weekends, I would suggest paying for a season pass. We can't get up here during the week but we love love coming up on the weekend and spending the day.
google avatar

Aprile M.

Yelp
When we moved to the Boro we immediately bought a family pass to this lplace. We have a 5 year old daughter and she loves cominng here. The pass is worth the money since we come here almost once a week. They have a special room for crawlers and a large section for kids under 5.

Will C.

Yelp
Not a children's science center. Hodgepodge of a random crap donated to them by parents looking to clean out a room. Total rip off. Largest exhibit is some arcade type baseball games that they must have got from a MLB grant.
google avatar

Jeremy E.

Yelp
Took our two kids for the Cat in the Hat birthday celebration. We all got in for free and the kids had a blast. Plenty of things for them to do and they even gave all the kids some birthday cake. Everyone was very friendly! Would definitely recommend this place for parents with young kids! The prices for a regular day are $6. Kids under two get free admission. Make sure to bring an extra pair of clothes for the kids because they have a water table that the kids will probably want to enjoy. They also have a gated play area just for toddlers and infants if your child is like mine and just wants to go free.

Balasaheb K.

Yelp
It's a wonderful exhibition to everybody.I am really impressed by the set up which adds to the scientific knowledge of all. I am from India. I would like to set up similar set up in my place for students through Rotary Club i.e.Kolhapur,Maharashtra India. Can you pl.update on the formalities, sources of various instruments installed, and the rough estimate.I will be highly obliged to get the updates. Yelp
I have a love-hate relationship with this place! It really depends on my kids...which has nothing to do with DC, honestly! The layout is pretty good. I love the gated-off toddler area and baby area. However, there are times when my toddler finds her way into the baby area, and 2 seconds later an employee is ushering her out and giving me a mini-lecture about how that area is for infants. I know this, but I'm sorry that I looked away for a second and "allowed" my kid to go in a restricted area. (One time, my kid was young enough to be in there and was still ushered out!) Aaaannnyways.... The traveling exhibits are usually perfect for us. I plan our visits around their schedule. It's a small, manageable place for young children...except when a school field trip (or 3) is there. Then it's a madhouse. And I get stressed out when a 7-year old runs over my 3-year old...right in front of a teacher or DC volunteer. All in all, I like the place. Just be sure to use plenty of hand sanitizer!

Kristin Q.

Yelp
We became members a couple of years ago when our oldest was about 2 years old. He is 4 now and we also have a 1 year old, both love the discovery center and there are lots of fun activities suitable for both ages. I'm providing the lower rating because it's become nearly impossible for us to visit the DC without also being surrounded by multitudes of children there either on school field trips or as part of "camps" run by the discovery center. We've decided not to renew our membership the next go around because of this. There is rarely available parking in the lot and it's chaotic inside, very hard to keep track of your own kids when they get swallowed up in the crowd of other children running all around. I'm all about my kids learning to take turns, but honestly it's really not that enjoyable for them anymore either. Often they don't get any opportunity to play with most of the things because there are SO MANY KIDS. Particularly older, school aged kids who can overpower them and push them aside when they're trying to get a turn with something. We used to love it, but it's just too overrun now. :(

Mike C.

Yelp
Love this place! Clean, safe and tons for the kids to do! Minor missing pieces but that's really it. My daughters love visiting this place.

S H.

Yelp
This place is a gem! I took my 3.5 year old and 10 month old there. There is so much to do, and EVERYTHING is hands on! The exhibits are wonderful and educational, and all of it for a mere $6 is quite the deal!! I think we'll become members. It makes for a great day out!
