"Disk Union is Tokyo's biggest and best known second-hand record shop. The Shibuya location fills five floors, with the strongest selections in jazz and rock. Those looking for punk, heavy metal, hip-hop, house, rare groove, and a number of other genres are sure to find something, too." - Davey Young
Had visited this Disk Union outpost in Shimokitazawa, in April and December 2024. Great selection of Jazz and other genre records and fair pricing. A recommended stop if you are record shopping in Tokyo.

This is a decent record although I prefer HMV in Shibuya. I picked up a couple of Japanese pressed cds. They overprice many of their albums, for example the 1st Dylan album was priced around $350...probably to keep them in the store. It's not a bad store just not that great with a pretty vanilla selection...at least when I stopped in (June 2025)

They have a nice selection of new and used cds vinyl and dvd with a description on the case, but it is Japanese. Such a case may be scratched or liner notes missing. I did pick up a lot of cds from anywhere from 280-680 yen. Also, we found some cds we could not find at tower records or other record shops we visited.

Disk Union has many branches. This is one of the smaller ones and not many seek it out. There are some rarities and bargains to be found, but don't expect the extensive stock as there is in Shibuya or Shinjuku

Great place.
New and old music.
Great selection of CDs and vinyl.
Not so much tapes but there's a better place for tapes in Tokyo (if you know, you know, you could waltz on over there).
