Elephant and Castle’s Best Cafes, Bars, and Snacks - Eater London

"Is it a cafe, restaurant, sports bar, club or a dance hall? And is it Distriandina or The Colombian? These are questions to look out for when visiting this ‘cafe’. If La Bodeguita is Elephant and Castle’s heart then Distriandina is its soul. By day, fill up on stir-fried arroz chino with chuleta valluna aka breaded pork cutlets on the side. On weekends, until the wee hours, this is the place to come for reggaeton, merengue and salsa; the place is rammed and is a lively treble counterpart to Corsica Studio’s rattling bass next door. Which is why it’s all the more damning that Distriandina will be forced by redevelopment to move without any compensation while Corsica is given £125,000 by the developers to fully soundproof their venue in anticipation of new residents. It would be a shame if London cannot find a place for both venues." - Jonathan Nunn

Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre Demolition Is Approved | Eater London

"A Latinx nightclub-restaurant located adjacent to a white-British-owned arch venue, this business faces forcible relocation under the redevelopment and has not received the soundproofing contribution granted to its neighbour; community advocates warn that its loss will have a significant cultural impact for the Latin American population in the area." - Adam Coghlan

London’s Best Colombian Restaurants | Eater London

"A highly atmospheric gathering place for London’s Colombian community, known as a top venue for watching international football with screens aplenty and a lively crowd. The menu features classic starters like beef empanadas, patacón (green plantain) or fried cassava with guacamole and chicken wings glazed in Colombian coffee barbecue sauce, while mains include carne asada (grilled sirloin with green plantain, chimichurri and white rice) and frijoles Colombianos (red beans with rice, ripe plantain, avocado and a fried egg)." - Adam Coghlan

This is a lovely little supermarket with a welcoming vibe. Unfortunately, the restaurant section was closed when we visited, so we couldn’t try the food, but we’d love to come back for it. The customer service was great, friendly and helpful throughout. The baked goods section is a highlight, with items being freshly made right in front of you. However, the store could benefit from a wider range of spices and ingredients, especially for those unfamiliar with the cuisine but eager to try it. Pricing did feel a bit higher than usual compared to similar stores, though that may be expected given its central London location.

A Colombian supermarket in central London. The hot chocolate and pandebonos were delicious, comforting and authentic. I was able to find what I needed, though I did miss a wider variety of fresh vegetables, which would have made the experience even better. It’s right next to a train station and across a park, so I was able to sit and enjoy my meal under the midday sun.

Google
A good place for discover and get many stuff from latinoamericanos countries, also you can taste bakery and some delicious food from Colombia, a bit mess how the products are tidy and organised but you can still find them, be lucky if some guys of the staff are with a good mood they probably help you.

Entrar a gastar dinero en café es un desperdicio, luego de una larga espera me entregaron en café FRÍO Y AGUADO ! Una decepción total. Thought the Colombian coffee would be great but what a let down, after a very long wait I got a watery diluted tasteless coffee AND COLD . So if you are looking for a good coffee keep walking you’ll have better luck down the street.

Goodies from Colombia! If you have yet to try arepas or empanadas get a big fist-full of both right here. Vegetarian options are limited so I highly recommend the arepa with egg. It's deep-fried and may require extra hours in the gym. Top tip: share it with a friend 😁 Besides hot street food snacks you can find an array of fruits, store cupboard staples, soft drinks and anything else you feel homesick about. I love this discovery and shall return.

Google
The best coffee shop in the area for price and customer service!! Honestly walking in here everyday makes me smile! And the lattes are only £2.50!

I had fish soup, beef with potato and small appetizer. I forgot the name of the food, it was yellow and was like bread inside meat and vegetable. I liked it. It's the best here. Fish soup had a little bit fish smell but if you like fish, it dosen't matter. Not so expensive, that's a good point.

Yelp
Best Salsa bar in London. If you are looking for real Salsa and Latin music, this place is probably the best in London. Its not fancy, but feels like a real Latin American Salsa bar. Lots of drinks, Colombian street food also available. Great people and great Salsa!

Yelp
Fancy taking a holiday but don't have the money? Come here for your injection of Columbian culture and cuisine. A bit like a private social club this place can be intimidating but seriously, everyone is welcome. You can enjoy the amazing tasty treats on offer, I had a chicken and potato pattie that was awesome, as well as a whole load of Columbian food that you can take home yourself and cook. They hold Salsa lessons here and have amazing "Old Boys" singing to all the families sat around. This is a cultural hub for the local Latin American community and is just fantastic!
