District 118 Kitchen & Bar

We stumbled on this gem of a restaurant just looking to try a new spot. The menu is packed with tempting options. We had to ask our server for recommendations because we couldn’t decide. And let me tell you they didn’t disappoint. We started with the steak and cheese egg rolls. They were crispy and flavorful. They didn’t leak grease as you bit into them. For our mains we had the short rib grilled cheese and duck and mushroom risotto. The short rib grilled cheese was decadent. It was hearty, cheesy and simply just melted in your mouth. The duck and mushroom risotto stole the show for me. It was cooked to perfection. Creamy and deeply flavorful with earthy mushrooms and tender duck.

Incredible food, incredible service, great price point for quality and atmosphere. Really good menu with lots of great options. I will definitely come here again!

Stumbled upon this place after a day of errands & shopping. Wanted to ultimately grabs drinks but wanted to use the opportunity to rate the restaurant via my food rating page @got_gourmet (IG)! The service was great, atmosphere was good, and best of all the food was yummy! Maybe some of the best sweet potatoes fries I’ve ever had!

I went there yesterday with my family, when we got there we were told that the kitchen was closing in 5min, and we had to order within that time. Being our first time at District 118, we wanted some time to look at the menu. They sited us outside( wich is very nice decorated) and gave us time, even though the kitchen was about to close. The food came quick. Food amazing, service amazing, waitress very good, space gorgeous. Definitely coming back!

Food was absolutely delicious. My friend and I each had the quinoa mushroom burger. It was the best I ever had! Our waitress Belle was so nice and really friendly. She got the order perfectly. She even came back a few time to check on us. We asked her if we could have one drink and split it. She can back with two glasses and the drink was split perfectly. I give Belle and District 118 the highest rating

We hosted a large work dinner at District 118 with 18 people, and from start to finish the experience was outstanding. Bora, the owner, went above and beyond before we even arrived …he offered to FaceTime me to give a tour of the restaurant, parking, and seating options so I could choose what worked best for our group. He followed up personally to confirm and made planning effortless. When we arrived, the vibe was incredible…stylish, welcoming, and perfect for a group dinner. The food and cocktails exceeded expectations. Standouts included the burrata salad, prosciutto flatbread, and the beef short rib entrée, which were all phenomenal. The service, hospitality, and attention to detail made the whole evening seamless and memorable. I can’t recommend District 118 highly enough for both group events and nights out. We’ll definitely be back!

The service is super friendly and welcoming . Today I ordered the “ district 118 burger “. It was delicious. I got that for takeout . I drank at the bar “ the fairytale while I waited for my food . It was delicious 🤤. The place is very clean including the bathrooms . They have a parking lot so no worries on parking. The food tastes fresh and the portions are a good size . The price is reasonable for the good quality food .

I can’t say enough good things about 118 District! We came here as a family and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy but lively, and the music added such a great vibe. Bella took amazing care of us , honestly one of the best servers we’ve ever had! You can tell she really enjoys what she does. I wanted to post some photos, but everything looked so good that I ended up eating it all before I could take any! 😄 Highly recommend coming here for great food, wonderful service, and amazing vibes!

I was in the area and decided to hop on yelp and search restaurants in the area. One of the suggestions that came up was this restaurant. I decided to give it a try since it was only nine minutes away from where I was. When I walked in my child and I were immediately sat, and my child was provided a kids menu. My child went with the pasta and butter, which is her favorite dish from anywhere. I had the pan roasted chicken and a white sangria and for dessert we shared a caramel brownie cheesecake. This restaurant is big and spacious. It was very busy and seems to be a popular restaurant in that area. Our waiter was extremely friendly, patient and attentive. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Spaghetti and Butter ($12): 10/10 Pan Roasted Chicken ($27): 10/10 White Sangria ($14): 10000/10 Caramel brownie cheesecake($13): 1/10 (we didn't like it at all)

Found ourselves headed to Newton in need of some dinner plans when we found District 118 on Yelp. Made a quick res using open table and we were set. We arrived about 20 mins early and they were able to take accommodate it. We had a nice, high top booth by the window with great views of the bar area. The decor is modern and upscale although you could easily get away with casual attire. We were greeted right away by both the hostess and our server, Busra who was fantastic throughout the evening. Started with some delicious cocktails and fresh guacamole. I had the short rib grilled cheese which had a near perfect ratio of meat to cheese and the bread was not overly toasted where it tears up your palate. The sweet potato fries weren't much to look at but they were really good. Everyone had a great meal and the only minor infraction we could find was a few wilted pieces of romaine in the ceasar salad; which can happen anywhere. Overall, it was a great experience. Prices were a bit higher than similar places at home but it is also Newton so $16 cocktails and $22 burger w fries is probably average. Plus, the quality was worth the price IMHO.

Our server, Lucie, was a real pleasure, she was funny, helpful, charming and very professional. I loved the way she interacted with our grandchildren when they ordered their meals. We sat at a big round table on the left side of the restaurant and that worked very well for interaction and conversation. They have a wonderful menu of shareable appetizers, soups, salads, burgers and handhelds, entrees, sides, and.....yes.......kids meals. We started off with some shareables, and since the kids had been here before and were fans of the Bavarian Pretzel Rods (Cinnamon-honey butter and french onion dip for $15.00) we ordered a serving, plus the Ahi Nachos ($15), Zucchini Chips (with Tzatziki, Garlic sauces for $14.00), and a Shrimp Bomb (Tempura Fried Shrimp, Homemade Garlic Mayo, Spicy Cocktail Sauce for $19.00). I sampled three of the shareables (not the pretzels) and loved the shrimps and the lightly fried delicate zucchini chips the most. The adult meals were a Prime Steak and Spinach Salad (8 oz prime sirloin, spinach, kale, soft egg, tomatoes, pickled red onions, brie croutons, and sherry vinaigrette for $24.00), a Salmon Burger (Ground Faroe Island salmon, lemon caper aioli, wilted spinach, brioche bun, and choice of fries, salad, or Caesar salad for $22.00), a District 118 Burger (custom Angus blend, aged white Cheddar, bacon, fried onion, jalapeño marmalade, and sesame bun and choice of fries, salad, or Caesar salad for $22.00), and a Quinoa and Mushroom Veggie Burger (Shiitake, crimini, portobello, garbanzo, Parmesan, Swiss, caramelized onions, and red pepper relish and choice of fries, salad, or Caesar salad for $19.00). I had the Veggie Burger with a side salad and really enjoyed it. The generously sized burger patty had an almost "beefy" taste and texture and was excellent. The side salad was fresh and yummy, especially the soy vinaigrette dressing. And now to the children's meals. They offer six of them - Kids cheeseburger, Tenders, Grilled Cheese, Kids Mac and cheese, Pizza, and Pasta - each is $12. I thought the pricing was pretty reasonable for a Boston suburb but was disappointed to see that an iced tea was $4. Overall service, food quality, and value were high, so we were quite satisfied at District 118. PRO TIP No worries about parking -they have plenty of spaces all around the restaurant and strip mall.

Excellent Food, Ambiance, Service and Prices We were worried when we saw a full parking lot but the space was large enough to seat us without a wait. For an appetizer we got the Shrimp Bomb, a play on Bang Bang Shrimp. Shrimps were cooked perfectly Tempura batter delicious Homemade Garlic Mayo Cocktail Sauce, we couldn't get enough of (don't worry they gave plenty). sooo good Entrees consisted of Short Rib Grilled Cheese, with a side Caesar Salad. They nailed it and it was delicious, salad was light and complimentary to the decadence of the sandwich. Braised Lamb Gnocchi In a sautéed Ragu Sauce. This was outstanding It's like they found a way to caramelize the ragu sauce. Everything about this dish was exceptional. Even the mushrooms were special. My only knock was a little oily but still delicious! Maine natural Root beer. Never had it before but it was delicious They have activities and meals for kids! Our daughter was plenty entertained!

This was a terrible experience! We had reservations for 12 people in the semi private room. We had checked the place out to have a nice quiet family dinner, after a baby baptism. We were then moved to the main room. The whole restaurant was full of Georgia Tech Football Pep Squad, Mascot, Supporters, GT Tech Athletic department, etc. It was ridiculously loud! The only way it could have been worse would be if the Georgia Tech Marching Band came marching through it. The owner and manager should have cancelled us and comped us for a later meal. That would have been a better outcome. We cannot recommend this restaurant. However, the owner/manager apologized profusely, which we appreciated. But it was too late! We were very sad that this experience ruined a wonderful, joyful day.

We live in the neighborhood and want to like this place. But when you repeatedly come in and sit at the bar without any service, enough is enough. We were there for 15 minutes and while we got water and menus, no drinks and no nothing. They are nice people but need to do better.

I've been here twice now and I'd say this spot is solid overall. Food is decent and our waitress this last time was really nice. Pretty easy to make a reservation and never seems too busy. If you're looking for something not too crazy but slightly above average, this is a good spot.

I was staying in a nearby hotel when I ordered takeout from District 118 Kitchen and Bar one night. The fries and chicken ceasar salad were both very good. I saw lobster mac and cheese on the menu online but it didn't appear to be an option when ordering takeout. Too bad. Instead, I tried the braised lamb gnocchi. SKIP IT. I'm glad I didn't chip a tooth biting into bones that slipped through the cracks. Note for those ordering for delivery: If you deselect "contactless delivery" to ensure a proper handoff, don't expect it to be honored. I received a notice that my order had been delivered... but it wasn't brought to my room. Luckily, I found a bag with my name on it sitting in the lobby before it walked away.

Took a large party here after our fencing tournament, and we were most satisfied with the food. Cocktails were on point; I tried the excellent Gin + Yang (Brockmans Gin, Chambord, housemade grenadine, lime, Graham Beck Brut Rose). Among the other dinner highlights were the Shrimp Bombs and Key lime pie.

Service and atmosphere was great. Good variety of food and cocktails. Shrimp appetizer was very good. Main dishes were a little but one note and lacked adequate salt and pepper. I would still try again.

Came here for a work dinner, we had about 20 of us altogether and our wait staff was amazing. We split a bunch of appetizers; buffalo cauliflower, steak and cheese spring rolls, calamari and chips and guac. My favorite was the calamari. For dinner I got the short ribs and they were hevenly. Id love to come back and try out more!

I want to give a shout out to our waitress, super nice and helpful. The food was okay, I got the wings, roasted on the grill not fried. But they don't offer any celery or bread which was a bit disappointing . It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. Inside was really dark and chilly. The menu offers a lot of red meat options and cheese. So it was limiting for me, but most I'm sure would love it. I peeked at the dinner menu average pricing $24-$37 for entrée.

We enjoyed our dinner here. My husband got the salmon, and it was grilled perfectly with crispy skin. He said he didn't care for the squash risotto that came with it though. I got the duck, that came with cherries, mushroom risotto and spinach. I really liked the dish! The service is nice, fast and friendly. We liked the dark rustic, casual atmosphere of this restaurant. Overall a great place to go for dinner.

The interior was comforting w a modern touch. You also have the option to sit outdoors. I see a lot groups sit outside. The food was delicious. I had the gnocchi and the chef brought it out himself. The flavors were excellent and so was my cocktail. They had a lot of great items on the menu that I must try and great options. The staff made me feel right at home if I had time to stay longer I would have.

I love this place . The staff is super welcoming. The drinks are spot on . This time I tried the " Chicken Wings " they are really good . The sweet potato fries I recommend. The ambience is super welcoming. The place is spotless including the bathrooms . I get the fairytale drink always it's so good . I recommend that as well . The picture is below .

Food: Came here for a work dinner, and everything was incredibly delicious. Their appetizers and entrees were delicious, and also big portions for sharing with big parties. Service: Food was really fast, even for a super busy Thursday evening. Ambiance: This place was PACKED (both indoor and outdoor seating) on a Thursday night, but it was definitely a fun place. The bar seating gets busy, so does the patio seating area.

Went for Saturday brunch a couple of months ago. Nice ambience, great service BUT the food and drinks we ordered were pretty bad. My friend and I both ordered Bellinis and the classic Eggs Benedict. The cocktails had no peach flavor at all, only prosecco. We could have lived with that but the eggs were not poached, they were basically raw. I know they are supposed to be poached/runny (we can tolerate very runny) but the second our forks touched the eggs, they COMPLETELY disintegrated. I never send food back but this was not only unappealing, it was a health hazard. The waitress asked the kitchen to redo my friend's Benedict but I decided not to chance it and ordered a scrambled cheesy egg instead. It was the right call because the second Benedict was not much better. The cheesy egg was ok. Food & drinks: 1 stars. Pleasant & attentive waitress: 5 stars.

I'm so dissapointed in the experience we had here tonight. I've been traveling to Boston for work for 5 years and District 118 is my favorite. I'll be honest tonight was beyond disappointing. Three of us dined and between the waitresses inability to accurately enter our order in the table side ordering system and the kitchens poor food quality, I'll have to seriously reconsider coming back. I've honestly only ever had the best experience here...Disappointed!

Came here for dinner with a couple friends and really really enjoyed the food and ambience. The place was hopping and very noisy by the bar, but we were seated on the far wall and could hear each other fine. We ordered fattoush salad (amazing - asked for more lemon dressing, which took it over the top delicious), brussels (very good), scallops with elote risotto (super delish), and chilean sea bass with gnocchi - mmmmm. Portions were generous enough (not huge, but definitely not tiny) that 3 of us were totally satisfied. Waiter was also very fun and nice. So overall had a great experience and highly recommend!

Such a charming little spot! We stumbled in during a rainy day looking for a place to grab a drink, and it was perfect. The staff was incredibly kind, the drinks were fantastic, and the cozy ambiance made it even better!

The waitress was sweet and super patient for a big party. She was able to do separate checks for everyone. The food and drinks were good too. Everyone raved about the chicken and waffles. It was a little dark but there was a nice ambiance and the owner took pictures of our party outside.

As a business traveler- I tend to eat alone and the vibe of the place has to not be stuffy. District 118 delivers. Parking was good- bar was packed but seats avail. Attentive and lovely bartender quickly gave me menus and I ordered a very yummy drink- strawberry old fashioned. Dinner was simple and well executed- harvest salad with salmon. Nothing incredibly special but cooked well and felt like I made the meal. Acoustically- they need to dampen the noise - it's loud because of the poor treatment of the space. Overall- a solid 4 and happy with my YELP choice.

Went for brunch today, their first weekend offering brunch and lunch. Got the grilled tuna salad. Fresh ingredients, very flavorful and a decent serving. Hubby got the salmon Benedict that was really good too. Wish they had an espresso machine for a cappuccino, but regular coffee was decent. Not too many people seem to know that they are now open for lunch, so the place seemed pretty empty. Service was good, especially since there just seemed to be one server!

Great experience! Awesome menu of diverse food choices, a well curated/selected drink list, and cozy atmosphere. Food was wonderful and service was excellent. Will certainly be returning!

Kind of like a sports bar environment. Food is average but expensive. The worst is server kept coming back every 2 minutes to rush us if we are ready to order. House wine taste horrible. Not interested in going back.

Decided to give District a try,Sat at the bar.First the good the wifeys cocktail was very good.My can of beer was nice and cold. Now the it so good,I'm far from a foodie snob but when you are charging $16 dollars for a cocktail I don't want to see the bartender in a raggedy t shirt and sweats. My burger was excellent but the Mrs Ceasar salad should never have made it past the kitchen.It was on its last legs and they forgot the Parmesan cheese We finished and left.Zero atmosphere there.

Gorgeous food, wonderfully presented and brought to the table very professionally. Lamb shanks better than culinary institute in Ireland last month! That said: 7 min after being seated before any waiter came to the table, entree arrived and I asked for another beer...was almost finished before I could catch waitress who had forgot it, then another delay to get it, then we were brought the wrong bill! Upon arrival the place was loud, busy, so perhaps delay in welcoming new guests not surprising, but it had thinned out a lot by the time our meals came and after. Sad that the service did not match the quality of the food... Never an apology from the waitress who acted as if nothing wrong...

Really loved it here. Fabulous space with a variety of seating ..raised booths in the window, lower tables around the back and a large community high table in the center of the room. More than ample bar seating which curves around to the side and offers a stand up ledge. Nice wood and rustic hardware. Great menu, interesting, unique bar menu, extremely reasonable priced. If we lived closer this would be my go to spot and I would attempt to run through the entire menu (and drink menu too). Lovely server, warm lighting. Started with a Passionate Ghost, which is ghost tequila, passion fruit & lime, decorated with a back sesame seed rim..eye catching and unique. And some of the coconut drinks not listed on the menu that I am referencing as I write this. My son enjoyed the Double Espresso Martini, made with decaf espresso and daughter the Mango Margarita. Dishes ranged from District 118 Burger, Fattoush Salad, Quinoa Mushroom Veggie Burger, Braised Lamb Gnocchi. All excellent. My Veggie Burger was a bit on the soft side, I may have enjoyed it more on a salad but it was unique and delicious if you love all things wild mushroom as I do. All in all, loved it here and can't wait to return next time we are in the area.

This place was very disappointing! The service was slow and it wasn't busy. I got the sea bass and gnocchi with asparagus. The sea bass skin was burnt. But the rest of it was cooked well. I ate the sea bass only. The gnocchi wasn't good. I think it was because of the sauce. The sauce was a butter sauce, not creamy, and it tasted only of asparagus. They must have cooked the asparagus in the sauce and it caused that flavor to overpower it and taste like nothing else. The only thing good was the cocktail I had. It was called an Autumn Breeze. I wouldn't come back here and I definitely won't be recommending it to my colleagues when they come for work.

We unfortunately couldn't make it in person to District 118 over the holidays, but we were able to get delivery and I tried the infamous "118 burger" with sweet potato fries. This burger was unreal. The onions, bacon, burger meat, and bun are all fantastic and it left me more than content for the night and pretty ready for bed (food coma time). Bussin.

Service was great, received a free drink as soon as I sat down because she made a double order for somebody else! After a few drinks we had dinner can't remember what I had but I'm sure it was good ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Ahi tuna nachos were chewy with no flavor. Shrimp tempura was too oily/fried. No flavor. Fish tacos were good.

Food was stellar. I had the short rib mac & cheese for main dish. Very cheesy and. Wholesome. The chips:guacamole were also amazing. Cold guacamole very fresh. Chips were thick and hearty. Not flimsy.....desert was good. I had Carrot Cake. Although it wasn't the best I've ever had. It was still very very good. I believe next time I'm in. I'm gonna go with cheesecake. Service was absolutely second to none. Very attentive from the moment I stepped into the door to the very last bite taken. I was sat super quick, ordered super quick. And before I knew it my appetizer was delivered and ready to chow down on. Booths were very comfy with plenty of room. Table height and lighting was great as well. Relaxing place.

Good spot. Loud. Had ribeye. Hubs had braised short ribs. Both fantastic. Rob eye cooked perfect. Sides delicious. Husbands short ribs great and Brussel sprouts delicious. Started with burrata which was fantastic. All in all great dinner. Made reservations but didn't need them which was surprising. Would expect this place to be packed in Saturday evening. We did sit at 8p so maybe that's why the crowd looked thin? Not sure. Will def be back

Our waitress was the highlight of the evening. She was very nice and took good care of us. I ordered the yard bird + Brie, very disappointing. The piece of chicken is so thin and dried out it's almost not edible. I did enjoy the sweet potato fries. The espresso martini was just OK. Would never go back, way over priced and I can get a better chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A!!

We were definitely disappointed in this place. The hummus was okay. The steak was tough and the chicken was basically inedible. It tasted like it was on the verge of being rotten. I could only eat one bite. The potatoes (mashed) were pretty good as were the fries. Service was good. In general it was quite overpriced for very mediocre food.

Stopped in for a bite, had the wings, baked and grilled, very tasty, and the Cheesesteak Eggrolls. They were good, but didn't get the cheese part much. Servers are friendly, comfy and a good solid pour at the bar.

All I can say is this place has exceeded all of my expectations! Not every scampi is alike and not every place can make Shrimp Scampi! If you have checked out my review about another place that failed at it, you will know what I am talking about! I called in to request extra scampi sauce and they were nice. Scarlett answered the phone and even with all the hustle and bustle in the background she was very polite. The shrimp were very succulent, fresh, and made just right, the linguine was cooked perfectly. Everything tasted so FRESH. I appreciated the blend of spinach and cherry tomatoes. After reading all of the positive reviews, this place lives up to the five stars. So far so good! Give this restaurant your business

Food drinks and service were all great! Went with wife and teenage daughter- owner introduced himself and made us feel welcomed. Already been back again- love the bar setup!

An all around solid place to eat and enjoy a great beverage! Nestled in a great community with a variety of choices.

Really unfortunate experience yesterday. Had to send back the zucchini chips, they were fried in dirty oil and tasted awful. The district salad was very over dressed, added the salmon which was cooked well and was the only thing I ate. Served never even asked how the meal was after it was delivered and I ate only a few bites of the salad - would have sent that back too if I was given the opportunity. Very disappointed all 3 times I've been to this place

We did early dinner (5pm) on a Saturday so not crowded. Service was good, very attentive took care of us right away. Food was ok. Potential to be better if a few things changed up. What we had: Pretzel stick app: pretzels were good, the dips were so-so. The onion dip was bland and must have just come from a fridge because it was very very firm. Because of the texture and flavor I had to pull the waitress over just to ask what it was. It really had no onion flavor. The cinnamon dip was also very firm (butter based) and was not bad. If I ever got this again I would look to sub the dips. 118 Burger: the flavor was good but I asked for medium and got very well done (grey throughout). The side Caesar was excellent. Chicken Parm: good sized portion and the chicken was cooked well but the dish, including the sauce, was very bland. The pasta was very over cooked and mushy. The waitress recognized we did not enjoy it (left 3 quarters of if on the plate) so she comped it. That was a kind and professional thing to do. Beers and wines were good and the Lumberjack cocktail was excellent. So all in all, the ingredients all seem fresh and good but some flavoring here and there and technique on the burger and pasta and this could be a 4-star. But not this time.

This is the BEST burger I've ever had in my entire life. For $17, you get a delicious unforgettable burger and crunchy sweet fries. I ordered the District 118 Burger cooked in medium rare, and it was bussin'. It was sweet and juicy, the flavor was three dimensional. There were so many flavors in one bite, it made me want to savor each and every bite. And the chocolate cake? It was good, pretty thick for one slice, could be shared with 2-3 people. Pros - great atmosphere - really good burger - friendly service Cons - pricey Conclusion - I would go back and get the same burger again, and it must be in medium rare (must!!). For the price, it's pretty worth it. Idk who was cooking in the kitchen but the chef(s) were bussin'.

Ambiance is nice. Service was fine but nothing special. Food was terrible. Flatbread was doughy and it was smothered in balsamic. Salad was mostly lettuce. The chicken was rubbery. The potatoes were over salted. And the gravy was brown water with salt.

Cute little place, inviting, nice decor. Everything we tried was great...from the coconut margarita (which was like a margarita and a pina colada rolled in one drink) to the poke to the cheesecake! And Kayla was really nice and attentive. We'll def be back
