Why didn’t we read the reviews before we ate here?? BIG mistake. Not a single lie told. The service was so bad, I tipped the bus boy instead of our server because she did squat. She spent more time hanging with the male host than she did serving us. The chicken sandwich I received was burnt horribly. I took two bites, trying to muster through and couldn’t do it. I sent it back and asked to have it taken off the check. There was a whole battle for that and the resolution was half off because I’d eaten a part of it. I’ve received better service from McDonald’s.

Went to a Caps game and dropped by for a quick bite before the doors opened. The place is located right across from the arena so the location is great. They had a live band playing who were pretty good. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The service was great and the staff friendly and helpful. We ordered Detroit style pizza. I got the pepperoni and my son the mushroom. We both agreed that the pepperoni was delicious but the mushroom not so much. The mushrooms had a funny taste and we didn’t like the cheese. We will be back and try something else on the menu. The fried chicken sandwich and shrimp and grits looked good.

It was a by chance that I took a trip to this spot because the original plan was for the movies, but My wait time led Me here. At first glance and listen it seemed like somewhere I needed to be. There was a gamer event going on so there was a dj, the big screen had guest playing a game, the atmosphere was hype to say the least. My friend and I walked in and was seated immediately. The music was so loud that you were basically screaming at the person sitting right next to you. The AC was on full blast and it was super hot that day so that was a turn off. I felt like I need a to be wrapped up or freeze! I didn't do research on the menu before coming so when My friend asked was there any dishes without pork, and the waitress replied NO I knew then that this little stop was a bust. We ordered two drinks and the check and sat and waited for all three. I ordered a strawberry margarita and My friend ordered a Mai Tai. My margarita was good and strong, but the Mai Tai didn't appear the way it should have. It was light pink with a lime in it. It looked like pink lemonade to give you a mental picture. We looked at it for a minute and discussed what it ahould look like versus what was brought over and nothing added up. Reluctantly we drank both drinks and paid our check and vacated.

4/5🌟 Great atmosphere & service. The food was okay. The bacon tasted funny to me so I didn't eat that but other than that, I enjoyed this restaurant. The mimosa were on point.

Google
Terrible experience!! Waited 20 minutes , went to the restroom and still no worker came to say anything or even a menu. Workers were inside joking sitting down on the phone laughing not doing a dang thing. First time coming here and not impressed and would never return, the workers are so unprofessional. Then when you say hello to get a menu or something , look at you no response. 0/10

One of the worst establishments I’ve been to. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar, the Restaurant was fairly empty with a couple of people also sitting at the bar. We were asked if we wanted menus and said yes, and then were ignored by the bartenders for the next 20 minutes. We didn’t even get drinks. After sitting around and waiting, we noticed that two of the bartenders were just outright ignoring us, and a third employee was sitting in the dining area watching TV. We decided to just leave. I see a dozen of reviews where people have been saying the same thing which leads me to believe that this is normal customer service here and this place is not worth your money or your time.

I got invited to checkout District E and District Bites and I really enjoyed my experience. The on-site restaurant, District Bites, serves food from scratch and locally-sourced ingredients. I enjoyed their french dip egg rolls, garlic parmesan wings, crab cake sandwich, and snickerdoodle with dulce de leche ice cream sandwich. The milkshake just needed maybe some more vanilla or sweetness to take it from being milk to a milkshake. The burger sliders just needed some more seasoning. I’m not big fan of mezcal, but I actually liked the oaxacan temple. It wasn’t too smokey tasting. The hibiscus cos-no-politan mocktail was also pretty good. I’m also not a gamer and can barely use a controller but I’d definitely come back and play games. I enjoyed playing Mario cart even though I came in last place 😅.

What an outstanding experience! While unloading a tour bus full of 42 students, we were warmly greeted by a charming gentleman who welcomed us to the Capital One Arena. We asked about a place that could accommodate our large group, unaware that he was actually the manager of District E Bites. Incredibly, within just 15 minutes, the entire team had transformed the patio area into a perfect dining space—tables and chairs were set up, silverware was in place, and cups of ice and bottles of water were ready, along with complimentary soda! The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and answered all our questions about the menu. To top it off, the food arrived quickly, hot, and absolutely delicious. They even went above and beyond by letting the kids participate in an ice hockey video game tournament, complete with prizes like a signed puck and jersey! The adults and I would give them 10 stars if we could—an unforgettable experience all around!

Yelp
Went here before the Wizards game to grab some drinks and food. The place was super busy but we were seated right away and had great service the entire time. We enjoyed the happy hour nachos and the happy hour burger (comes with fries). Both were only $10 each and were really yum! Definitely a great deal! They have plenty of drinks to choose from and it's just steps away from Cap One arena! They also have a ton of TVs so it would be a good spot to watch sports. I would definitely go back here pre-game/concert.

Yelp
We ran into this sports bar/restaurant after parking in the garage for the Usher Show for a quick bite before the show started. It was packed as there was a Sprite pre show lounge with a live DJ for the crowd. The service was lackluster as we literally had to flag down several servers to even take our order. It didn't seem like the servers were assigned to a specific table. Once our order was placed by a nice young lady then we were good from there. The food served its purpose. The burger (not pictured) was really good. My drink was on point. I may return if back in the area

Yelp
It's rare I give one-star reviews. A place has to be really bad for me to do so. And District Bites, adjacent to District-E, a gaming center in Gallery Place near Capital One Arena, was really bad. We went because we were looking to expand our pre-Capitals game dining options, and District Bites has a few vegan options. We ordered the mushroom "calamari," the smothered red pepper hummus, the E-Possible burger, and two drinks. The server was struggling with the order device and had us repeat our order. Our food did come reasonably fast, but getting mustard for the burger took repeated requests. The mushroom "calamari" was not in rings but nuggets, and I think there was more breading than mushrooms. It was hard to tell because the seasoning overwhelmed any flavor there might have been. The hummus was okay, but the accompanying pita chips were so salty, I couldn't taste anything else. The salt and seasoning were so excessive, we couldn't even finish the food. Maybe they oversalt everything so people will order more drinks, which are served in the sort of disposable plastic tumblers you buy for a picnic and not something you expect to see at a sit-down restaurant, even a casual gaming bar. They certainly weren't offering to refill our water cups. My boyfriend had to go to one of the bars and refill his cup himself. When it came time to pay, the device kept malfunctioning. I thought they were going to bring another device so I could pay, but they disappeared. Finally, I was able to get someone who took me to the bar and had me pay there. Given how incompetent the service was, I was disinclined to let them take my card. This is only my second time here, and I recall the food not being very good when we went a few years ago. But this was even worse, and I doubt the third time will be the charm.

Yelp
We had some trouble finding the spot as it was tucked away in the shopping mall. The drinks and apps were pretty stellar by the bar, and the bartenders were super chill. A minor and picky note about the lighting, weird clubby vibes don't make for the best food photos (and conversation for that matter)

Yelp
District Bites is located adjacent to District E, which is a gaming center. A friend and I stopped by for a later lunch, as she had run into some of the employees doing some marketing and saw some carry-out orders on their so-called famous crab cakes. We were seated promptly, and although we requested a booth, we were led to one of their high-tops; the chairs weren't the most comfortable, and the table itself was wobbly, which was a bit annoying having to deal with throughout our dining experience. We ordered: +the Esports Nachos Grande - these were described as flash-fried corn tortillas topped with queso poblano sauce, pico de gallo, shaved jalapenos, pickled red onions, pinto beans, and a cilantro lime creme; there was an option to add chicken ropa, which we didn't go for; the tortilla chips were good, along with the queso poblano sauce and the pinto beans; the toppings could have been more generous, such as the pinto beans and the lime creme; 'shaved jalapenos' were just thick jalapeno slices, but I felt that pickled versions would have been much better; didn't know there was going to be a huge mound of micro cilantro, so that was off-putting; the portions were easily shareable between 2 people +the Eastern Shore Crab Cake - served with remoulade, leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, and a brioche bun, with a side of shoestring fries; the crab cake was not that great - it had to many shells, meaning it was not picked well; it also had a slight 'fishy' odor and taste to it and served at room temperature, which was a little gross; it also seemed to contain more filler than I'm used to; the remoulade sauce, which is made in house, was okay, but didn't add much to the crab cake; the shoe strings were a bit 'limpy' +a Cider Brine & Applewood Smoked Turkey BLT - Nueske's slab bacon, green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and a black pepper mayo between sourdough slices; my friend didn't really enjoy this, as she stated it was a letdown, considering the description of the sandwich Service was friendly, but there could have been more check-ins, especially to share about the food as well as to get refills and the check. The place seemed to get a steady flow of fans who were in the area for a game, and the location was actually really nice, as you enter into an enclosed atrium at Gallery Place. Garage parking available. +wobbly tables +shell-filled, lukewarm crab cakes +limpy fries +friendly service +garage parking in the area

Yelp
This place is located in Chinatown, inside the building that houses Regal theater & a side entrance to Capital One Arena (just passed Clyde's Restaurant). Chinatown metro is a block away. The pub serves sandwiches, fries and burgers. It was reworked after the previous restaurant closed. This is a perfect spot to visit before or after seeing a movie. (If you want a more upscale date, visit Clyde's) The space is also used for events. There is a dance floor, tables for board games and video games.

Yelp
We come here before every capitals game and seems to be worse every time. The service is usually not the best but the enthusiastic wait staff usually makes up for it. We usually eat and have multiple drinks but on this occasion the manager forced us out of seats that were empty after his wait staff told us to sit there. Stood next to said seats for 30 minutes only to have him sit zero people in them or the other 3 tables next to them that he kicked people off from based on an excuse of people waiting. Terrible way to treat paying repeat customers. Fortunately there are plenty of other places very close.

Yelp
Located inside gallery place. Food-I came during happy hour and the burger and fries was well seasoned and good portion size. Service- everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Alexis(bartender) for providing food/drink suggestions and taking great care of me. Vibes- it's a very pregame/concert space. Well lit. Lots of different seating-booths, tables, high tops, bar, and communal tables. Can definitely get crowded so be flexible.

Yelp
Went here on the late night. It was very quiet. But glad. Ms Brittany was very helpful and awesome. The drinks were awesome. The food was good. We went to celebrate my brother birthday. My first time here but not my last. I didn't even take pictures. Smh ‍

Yelp
As a bar that seems to be for hosting larger events, I was a bit disappointed that they couldn't seem to hold it all together. I came here for an event of about 250 people, and there were only about 5 servers working the place. Not a reflection of them, they were great and doing the best they could, but that meant service was super slow and everything, drinks and food were backed up. Our table got the nachos which had definitely been sitting out for a while. The chips were all soggy, the cheese was good but soupy?, and the chicken was very underwhelming and boring. My friend got a chicken sandwich and said she enjoyed it though. This bar I have been wanting to try but I want to give it another chance. The food menu does look pretty good (the rockfish sounds appetizing) so hoping my experience was a one off

Yelp
Ate here quick before the wizards vs knicks game. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The Long Island was strong and she kept asking if it was ok, for me it was because k did want a buzz. She said she gets a lot of complaints of it being strong. The nachos we waited awhile for it. Which unsure why because it was literally nachos, cheese and pinto beans...that's it. I would come here again if we are watching a game.

Yelp
Came here twice lately before Capitals games, once for just drinks and another time for dinner. They have good happy hour drink and food specials. The first time we had a beer and cocktail and last time we had two beers, nachos, and chicken wings as part of the happy hour menu and then a mushroom Detroit style pizza and a rockfish sandwich on the dinner menu. Our server was wonderful and the food was quite good too. A lot of good options but this is a good new choice before a game or just to meet for food and/or drinks downtown.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick drink or bite before entering the arena. The servers are great. The romaine salad with chicken was created just right. Check it out if you are ever in the arena.

Yelp
Although the food was ok, the service was TERRIBLE! To start with it's difficult to find. Once we did find it the one bartender/waitress seemed annoyed that we were ordering food at 5:30 pm on a Sunday. Once our food came out she disappeared to a corner table, got her laptop out and seemed to be taking a break. I guess we didn't want another drink. I had to almost yell across the bar to get her attention so I could pay the tab. Too many great places in DC to waste your time and money here.

Joe M.

Yelp
Would really like to say we had issues with the food or drink but the truth is we didn't get a chance to taste anything. Sat in the middle of the restaurant for 25 min after the hostess seated us with no acknowledgment we were there. We understand the challenges of being short staffed but it would have been nice to have someone at least tell us they were having issues.

Yelp
A great place to have a drink and a meal, especially if you are attending by an event next door. The location is great and the venue space looks amazing. Great decorations and good food, what's not to love here!
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Very good food and solid service. What makes this a 5-star is the convenient location inside the Capital One Arena complex and that it s by far the best place ( less crowded and overwhelmed) place to grab a bite before an event. Loved the turkey, bacon sandwich and the wings. Fries were done well and they had a good option n beer and wine. Prices were a little steep but worth it. Great staff ( server, bartender, and manager) should be complimented.
google avatar

Jamp V.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday at 5:30pm. The place was completely empty, but it took over 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and offer water. That gentleman said it would still be a few more minutes for our server to come take our order. Um, no thanks. We left and went to Clyde's which is right next door. More expensive, but our order was taken within 5 minutes of being seated.

Yelp
I came for lunch. Forgot to take a picture. Staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Drinks, fabulous. Food...meh. I got the pizza. It's a deep dish - that should say everything. Crisp edges, soft middle. Ewww. Also, pepperoni was a bit spicy for my tastes but I'm a softy. The ambiance is the reason I'd return. And the prices. See ya next time.

Mary H.

Yelp
The hamburgers and fries were delicious. Cooked perfectly. Hot. The drinks were good and cheap because of the extended happy hour. Service was awesome. In a mall that isn't on Main Street. Grilled shrimp was great.
google avatar

Jesse C.

Yelp
Came here before the Wizards game to take advantage of the happy hour prices. I ended ordering the $10 parmasean or buffalo chicken wings and the burger. Food was good and ambiance was great with all the TV screens. Service was good and attentive.

Yelp
Great food! Excellent service! Our waiter Moe was the best! Wings are awesome... the homemade ranch hits different!

Yelp
Amazing Service from our server Moe. Food was great as well. Definitely planning to return

Yelp
I visited District Bites (District E) several times. I've recently moved to the area, and can say without question, this establishment has made my transition a wonderful one. I am so happy to have a place like this to visit, eat, drink, and spend time with my new friends in the D.C. area. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service, ambiance, and overall vibe is simply second to none. District Bites, I am your number 1 fan. If there are no more supporters of this fine restaurant, it is because I am dead and gone. In particular, I would like to highlight the skills of Mr. Michael. He greets us warmly every time we come, and I can honestly say he is one of the reasons we keep returning. Whatever his role is, I sure hope he gets promoted and stays for a long, long time. Thank you Michael!!

Yelp
Very welcoming, tvs, music not too loud. Food was good. My steak was not cooked the way I asked but waitress and manager made it right. Staff was wonderful and attentive. Be sure to leave room for desert. I would definitely come again when back in town.

Olivia M.

Yelp
Out of town-er for the Blink-182 concert. Wish I could leave a review of the food, but I never got to try it because the hostess looked at me like I had 50 heads when I asked for a table and she said "you can't sit at the bar?" I asked if there were any seats at the bar, she got very snippy and said she couldn't see the bar. So we left and took our money elsewhere

Ken C.

Yelp
The food isn't to die for and especially for the prices but it is DC so what can you really expect! The vibes, ambiance and staff are truly what make the place! Very attentive and friendly staff, we came because they had a Taylor Swift event which was fun and they gave out free gifts while you played games so 10/10 for that! Will definitely come if they do more events, especially if it's on days of concerts of artists coming to capital one!

Yelp
I have eaten here twice and have always left overall satisfied. The food is delicious (especially the garlic parm wings!) and the drinks are on point. I only have minor complaints like staff not knowing the business/kitchen hours, staff looking confused or overwhelmed, there never being paper towels in the bathroom, etc. But overall the vibe is small and sporty and is a good spot for some pregame action before a Caps/Wizards game. Moe is the absolute best btw! Great service, super professional, accommodating, and friendly!

X H.

Yelp
Get the burger!! ...and the service was impeccable. Mo took extra care to go over the menu with us! Nice place to watch the game too! A fun experience.

Dan M.

Yelp
Went before a capitals game and ordered from the game menu. Drinks were good, food was food and our server MO was great. Will be back

Daija B.

Yelp
Nichelle was attentive, very engaging and made great drinks. Made our night there a great night! Also say the egg rolls are amazing 10/10 Definitely will be back !

Janet M.

Yelp
We stopped in here after a game and there were staff everywhere. We walked right in, confused about if we sat ourselves because we missed the unattended hostess station. The host came up with the biggest attitude, while walking up who looked to be more managerial staff and sat us. The server who was working had two tables already and us. Plus another guest table came in right behind us (also missing the unattended hostess stand and got the same rude attitude) The server never said "Hi" looked in our direction or anything. Just took care of her three tables that were right next to us. We sat about 15 minutes seeing if she would take care of us (after she took care of the table that was seated after us) and we just left. Can't give you a review about the food but I can say there was a sour atmosphere, poor attitude and many staff members that could care less.

Yelp
First time ever eating at this restaurant. I arrived there around 8:14pm in the evening. The place was empty. So my wait time wouldn't be fair compared to a busy day. I was told my an employee that they opened two months ago. So they're fairly new. The server approached my table immediately & took my drink order. Wait time for my drink was about a one minute lol. I ordered the Negroni Sbagliato, which was okay. My server then took my food order. I had the French Dip Egg Roll with a side of Beef Jus for an appetizer. The Egg Roll was delicious. They took about 4 minutes. I had the Smoked Turkey BLT with a side of Fries as an entrée. I would say it took about 7 minutes because they were waiting for me to finish my appetizer. Honestly, I was a little disappointed that the sandwich had deli slice turkey instead of carving board turkey. The turkey actually tasted like the packaged sandwich meat from a grocery store. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to get dessert. All in all, I would definitely visit this restaurant again. The staff was polite & efficient. Plus, I want to try those Egg Rolls again

Eleanor L.

Yelp
We were there with dozens of other groups for a massive invitational trivia championship. The staff was swamped, but rose to the challenge. Moe, our waiter, was honest, kind, and worked very hard to serve us and the other teams. He did a great job and had a good attitude despite the huge crowd.

Steve H.

Yelp
Great service and food before a Caps game. Go Caps! Thanks Mo, excellent service. .........

Sam S.

Yelp
We came at the end of a Caps game and sat at the bar. The bar has a weird orange light that shines down over the whole bar and it really hurt our eyes. Our bartender was great, but the other staff was horrible. We asked one guy who was just standing behind the bar watching something for some silverware, so he left and never came back. A lot of the staff was unprofessionally b*tching. We got the prime rib egg rolls, which was nothing but meat in a wrapper - no seasoning. The au jus wasn't even a help to their bland flavor. The french onion soup on the other hand, had lots of nasty flavors. It was made with chicken broth vs the typical beef. There were barely any onions, and way too many spices. It was also weirdly tangy. Blech! My friend had the caesar salad, which was fine except he asked for the dressing on the side and it wasn't. Obviously won't be returning, and I caution anyone over the age of 30 to do.

Yazmin E.

Yelp
Our waiter Moe was the best! Personality on point. Our drinks and appetizers were great! Lots of TVs to watch games.

Cole H.

Yelp
This is a great place to visit right before a Caps/Wizards! Food was delicious, the restaurant is clean and most importantly, our server provided an amazing experience! The waiters name that served my family and I was named Moe! Overall, a very pleasurable experience!

Chase H.

Yelp
Food was good. The waiter was also very polite and nice. We got seated very quickly, especially for a Capitals pre-game.

Laurie D.

Yelp
We just had a drink and snack at District Bites. Good deal during happy hour! Chicken wings were great but even better was Mo, our server!!! Super attentive and friendly, I will be back to see him!

Cal P.

Yelp
Moe rocks!! A raise and a promotion is the least. Good food better service! Understood.

Timothy L.

Yelp
Bartenders were good, food was good but no wait staff so you had to wait to take your order. I finally just placed my order at the bar. The server wasn't happy but my time is valuable too. Won't go back.

Aixa O.

Yelp
We came here before a concert, had the pleasure to meet our sever Moe, he was AMAZING. From the beginning he welcomed us with a smile, was very pleasant, accommodating, respectful and made our time here fly by. If you stop by ask for Moe!!
