Where to Get Picnic Food Around Seattle in Restaurants and Smaller Markets - Eater Seattle

"This smaller, but still excellent offshoot of popular Korean shop H Mart in South Lake Union has so many delights. One of the main attractions is a steam station, serving up doughnut-shaped dumplings (kimchi, beef, and vegetable with glass noodles). But there is also an extensive selection of other great options in the small food court, along with a robust bakery, amazing snacks, and packaged meals galore." - Gabe Guarente

Low-Key Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in Seattle - Eater Seattle

"A grocery store date? Absolutely, especially when this new fancy version of popular Korean shop H Mart in South Lake Union has so many delights. One of the main attractions is a fantastic steam station, serving up doughnut-shaped dumplings (kimchi, beef, and vegetable with glass noodles). But there is also an extensive selection of other great options in the small food court, along with a robust bakery. Plus, K-pop socks make a great Valentine’s gift." - Gabe Guarente

3 Places to Try in Seattle This Weekend - Eater Seattle

"Last week, we reported on the opening of South Lake Union’s fancy version of H Mart, District H. One of the main attractions that should be emphasized, though, is a pretty fantastic steam station right smack in the middle of the store, serving up significant, doughnut-shaped dumplings (kimchi, beef, and vegetable with glass noodles). Even though the spot just opened, the made-to-order snacks are already stellar." - Megan Hill

Korean food lovers must come here when you are in Seattle downtown. They serve amazingly good Korean foods at reasonable price. The cakes from Tous les Jours are amazing as well 😋😋😋

Google
Great store, bakery, ramen and Japanese food! The ramen is delicious, I had the shoyu and it was well balanced with broth, meat, noodles and veggies. The bakery has a lot of variety including delicious taro bread and other flavors alongside some of the usual bakery staples. Highly recommend visiting for lunch and snacks!

Google
Decent selection and location. Bakery and Ramen restaurant inside as well. Would go back for the gimbap!

Google
I will call the overpriced part as SLU tax. And sadly the SLU residents still pay lots and support this place. I have visited different HMart in Seattle area and this one has the most expensive bento and food. What’s worse, after we paid much more, we still got wrong quality of fresh food. The following photo showed the rotten kabocha, and they have stayed in shelves for a long time and I am surprised that the staff didn’t remove after they were rotten

Google
Don't be sleeping on their food court y'all. Is it the best Korean food I've had? No. But it's on par w some cheaper end restaurants and the portion sizes are very generous imo for the relatively low prices.

Cody Wenzel

Google
Not recommended to order from the food counters. After 2 attempts my buzzer going off and not having any food ready after 20 minutes to make ramen it wasn't even what I ordered. Ate it anyway because I was short on time. Quality was okay at best.

Google
Try Samkyubsal Dutbab with Jin Ramen for your casual lunch! You can taste authentic color of K food at affordable price^^ 6/22/2022 Update: it still tastes fine but more rice needs to fill up the box.7/21/2022 Try seasoned Durdock at $2.99 with rice! You will get enough strength under this hotty weather!

Google
Spam gimbap is not on the menu anymore. Pork bibimbap was light on ingredients: just rice, lettuce, marinated pork. Sauce was a nice add, but not worth coming back for.

Yelp
Conveniently located and a great spot to grab some Korean food and Asian goods! Glad this spot is here in SLU! Love coming here for noodles, banchan item, and baked goods from their neighbor Tour Le Jours. Service is always quick and efficient. It's a smaller Korean grocery store so not as many options as some of the bigger ones I've been to, but it's still great to have within walking distance!

Yelp
I think I would give this 3.5 stars if I could. The biggest plus of this store is how convenient it is. The downsides are the prices (definitely geared towards Amazon employees, which I am not) and the limited selection. I wish they had more fresh produce, specifically vegetables/leafy greens Other than that, the store is clean and well stocked (for the things that it does carry). Employees are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Down the street from my hotel! Lots of prepared hot meals and snacks to choose from. They also have grocery items. You can also get made to order food there as well.
google avatar

Yelp
My veggi bibimbio was a nice assortment full of flavor. Freshly prepared served on a bed of white rice. The accompanying hot sauce was not just hot, but added flavor, too.

Yelp
I'm in Seattle for a work trip and I have to RESTRAIN myself from coming here to eat for every. meal. The food is so tasty and some of the prepared stuff gets a 20% markdown after 17:00. I recommend going to the downstairs soup/soondubu dish place & trying their jjamppong, especially if you love mussels (they have a crap ton of mussels in theirs). I also recommend their fried chicken (and I'm not even a big fried chicken girly tbh). I also loved their tteokbokki. If I had a bigger budget I would be stuffing my suitcase with cookware, specialty instant noodles, snacks, and whatever fresh stuff TSA wouldn't confiscate LOL

Yelp
Went here as I heard it was more of an 'upscale' experience for H Mart...and they have a warm food cook-to-order area. I'm not an H Mart frequenter so forgive if these are also available at the bigger markets... This one had the 'ice cups' that are all over Korean convenience stores you see from Instagram/TikTok folks. It's quite the expensive cup of ice to be honest ($1.99) but the experience is good and if you are eating there and grab a 'bag o' beverage' then yeah you're gonna need something. I got a hazelnut coffee and added banana milk to it...yum. My son got some prepared orange chicken/rice and said it was pretty good...fast and ready. I went with the spicy cheesy hot chicken dish from 'The Bop' station lower level. It was really good and a lot. Great flavor, good portion, and nice and warm on the cold day we went. We both enjoyed our food experience (son got a donut from the bakery and said was really good...didn't offer me any The environment for something advertised as more 'upscale' -- just...wasn't. Friendly staff, but definitely just felt like a super market. The sitting area for eating was just around a few places that just looked closed? And the fried chicken station was closed, but just kinda looked disheveled, so really -1 for the general vibe for me. And it was FREEZING in there. I know it was cold in Seattle this day, but we felt like we were in a freezer...it wasn't really much warmer inside than it was outside. Will go back? I don't think I'd drive there from where I live again, but if you live/work downtown, it's probably a no-brainer to get your Korean/Asian food fixes and a quick bite. We grabbed some noodles for home (good selection) and tried some different flavored Lays chips that we hadn't seen before too.

Yelp
Love District H! It's super convenient if you need to grab a couple grocery items or want have a nice lunch at the food court. District H is like a mini version of H mart, so it's not enough for a full grocery haul but great if you need a couple items. And the snack selection is on point! The food court is super good too. Most items are between $10-15 with huge portions, so it's a great deal! I got the cheesy fire chicken and it so good and flavorful - and the portion was enough for 2 meals for me. This location is also connected to a Tous Les Jours (which is my fav bakery) so that's a nice bonus!
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
I love this place. It's close to home and great to visit if you need to grab a quick bite or pick something up at the store. I love the selection of drinks and groceries. Tons of premade meals to choose from as well. They have a couple of restaurants inside as well as a bakery.... not really part of District H, but in the same building. I got the udon and the cheese chicken, both were served hot and fresh.
google avatar

Briana M.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE District H distinctly for the market. I haven't tried the number of eateries in there. The stars are the premade meals that are available every single day that the market is open. They also have a vast selection of Wine and Soju, Instant noodles and Pho and even a fresh section. They are always ready to assist in any way possible. They can predict what you're looking for before you find it. I just love how it's never cold inside too. No matter how many times the automatic doors open it can and will feel inviting. Thank you District H!

Yelp
I had high expectations entering this H-Mart (District H) location. Prior to visiting Seattle, I had no idea there are H-Mart locations on the west coast. This one was conveniently located near my hotel, however, the H-Marts where I am from (NJ) are Much better and bigger. I was disappointed in the lack of variety in the store and the hot food options were extremely minimal. It is a good place to stop for something quick like chips and a soda, I guess. Other than that, nothing much to brag about.

Yelp
We are back in Seattle and we had to make it a point to stop here at the first opportunity-- this was one of our favorite places during our last trip just due to the sheer convenience near our rental and their selection of Asian specialty foods. We picked up some canned food, fruit, and snacks as usual at a reasonable price. Customer service was also great. Somewhat of a limited selection given the size of the store, and prices for some items were a bit higher than H Mart, but still a great store.

Yelp
Tonkotsu ramen had creamy, flavorful broth! It was weird though that they had spinach in the ramen, and the noodles itself weren't that good, but I also liked that the outside of the meat was charred and had a good chew (though my boyfriend wasn't a huge fan of the meat or the ramen here).
google avatar

MarsAttacks ..

Yelp
used to come here a lot for the prepared food at the entrance but it's gotten do expensive and they give you smaller portions. seems others don't want to pay that cause there's tons of food just sitting there. boo
google avatar

Shia G.

Yelp
So the only thing 1 star was the food. The store itself, the staff, everything else was FINE. 5 stars for them! But I tried the ramen there and unfortunately the tonkatsu broth didn't taste like pork broth and it smells like the gas from the stove if that makes sense? The egg was also boiled through that the yolk solidified but that's okay, an easy overlook. The pork was grilled (there's also grill marks) and the pork was the only thing that had flavor so I really liked it! It's only a 1 star mostly due to the broth and the smell it gave which sucks because it's probably a bad batch but I just couldn't finish it. I hope next time I try it, maybe it will taste better. :( Oh and the noodles are *chef kiss*
google avatar

Sam K.

Yelp
Great korean market. Really nice having it nearby. Not sure why its 2.5 stars. It could use a few more selections but it still has good options and the necessities for korean market
google avatar

Yelp
UPDATE YOUR HOURS. Very clearly says it's open on your help page. Walked here just to see that it closes at 9pm like every other grocery store in the area.
google avatar

Daniel T.

Yelp
Very slept on food spot. They served my favorite which is the crispy rice and cheesy chicken, all on on a hot stone bowl. Very filling for the price and was a unique experience for lunch. Would definitely recommend for those looking for lunch in Seattle
google avatar

Lynn K.

Yelp
This place is pretty bad, please check all your items to make sure they are not expired. Have purchased vegetables and meats here a few times that were well over the expiration date with mold on the veggies. We live close to this place so it's continent, but will never purchase groceries from here again. Advise anyone who does to check all items for expiration dates.

Yelp
This is our go to spot when either my boyfriend or I crave jjampong. It always satisfies our craving for spicy noodle soup and comes with that deep umami and wok taste. The toppings seem to vary a little bit, so I find myself enjoying it more some days over others. It does seem like the food court here is still trying to figure out their strategy. The hours are pretty limited so it's definitely a lunch or super early dinner kind of spot. Ordering logistics used to be painfully confusing, but seems like they've streamlined it to a single register. They've also updated their menu to be a bit more simple and are leaning into the ramen concept. Jjampong is now called "spicy seafood ramen." Today the broth tasted less spicy and slightly creamier, but they still use the same thick noodles and it hit the spot. Service is hit or miss. Since it is food court style, I'd feel comfortable coming here alone for a quick meal. Their other stuff is great too, I really like the hot stone pot bibimbap options!

Yelp
Stopped by for late lunch and was fascinated by the selection. This is a grocery store stocked with Asian products but also fresh food prepped for takeout during COVID. I picked up water(heatwave) and 2 dishes I watched being cooked. The Teriyaki Chicken plate was really good. The teriyaki was a light touch instead of the cloying over sweet popular option. It was served with a cup of roasted vegies and white rice. The 2nd plate I ordered was fried rice with Kimchee and it is served with a fried egg on top. I've never tried anything like it. You can tell the locals rely on this spot as the pace had a steady customer stream. I would be there regularly too if I had the opportunity. There is a nice exterior courtyard to relax and enjoy your takeout.

Yelp
I was excited to find a new Korean marketplace. Then I realized it was just like a small version of Hmart. It's sorta like a 7-eleven version of Hmart. Mostly snack and some produce. They even have a Food court with 3 restaurants. Very cool, enjoyed it very much.
google avatar

MyLien P.

Yelp
Came here to grab a quick snack for work and they had lots of options! It had your typical Asian market things you would normally get. As well as has a little chicken shop and bakery inside! They had hot foods you could grab and go. Very big beer and alcohol selection. Good section on things for like hotpot and Korean bbq at home! Lots of ramen options as well as random little things here and there. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Can't wait to comeback and try the bakery inside. It looks soooo good!
google avatar

Franklin C.

Yelp
The korean male cashier here is super super petty over someone taking napkins, forks and chopsticks. Like I'm spending $50-60 here each week (sometimes more) and he gets very peeved about me taking literally a few more napkins to dine in. The food is also not that great either - its okay but I feel like some of what they leave out may be several days old or leftovers (it's never tasted fresh) yet still rather expensive. There is Uwajimaya and the food there is definitely quality. I won't be back here again - I can't support a business run by rude people (As a Korean American myself, I feel like Koreans could do better but I'm also not surprised when treated in a rude and selfish way by Koreans). At least show some respect for your own community.
google avatar

Greg C.

Yelp
This is a modern store with pretty much everything you need to cook with. I'm from San Francisco where are there are lots of markets, so I'm a little biased, but this one is just fine.
google avatar

Riley P.

Yelp
Easy to pick up and purchase. You order for the ramen bar when you check out. The California roll was fresh, made with real crab and had the perfect ingredient ratio. Chicken wings and legs with crispy and powerful flavors.
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
This place has given me soooo much convenience in grab and go selections when I'm too lazy to cook and last minute clutch grocery items that I greatly appreciate its existence. While not a full fledged supermarket, it has all the essentials (ehh, like snacks hahahaha). Whole Foods is right across the block for more selections of fresh produce. I have almost finished working my way through the selection of hot foods. The food is of grocery level quality so don't expect anything superb like in a restaurant. The main items are decent, but the rice can be a super hit or miss, ranging from undercooked rice to starchy rice to sometimes soggy rice. It does give a quick fix of Korean food and to an extent Japanese food at a relatively low cost, especially if you go around dinnertime where all the hot foods and some cold foods are 30% off! Next to District H is the Tous Les Jours bakery and there are some kitchens that cook up Korean fried chicken from BBQ chicken. So many goodies in one location that makes it so easy to overspend!
google avatar

Aless M.

Yelp
I love that there is an Asian market in SLU and that it stocks a decent variety of sauces, condiments, ramen, and snacks. Prices are a bit on the high side, but expected for a boutique grocery store. The produce isn't super fresh; it's pretty hit or miss. The produce isn't very unique though, so I just walk across the street to Whole Foods to buy whatever I don't buy here. I've bought the fried chicken a few times and the flavor is good. The chicken pieces that they use are kind of odd though. It's not just thighs, legs, and wings. There are lots of bones to eat around.

Chelsae J.

Yelp
I got short ribs and katsu curry from the premade food spot, I got very sick 20 mins after eating this food which resulted in me on my weekend I planned on going out this night it was a Saturday and was stuck inside running to and from the bathroom all night. Both were not good and not flavorful at all I wasted about 70% of the food because it was so awful and this all costed me almost $30 for both.
google avatar

Dark W.

Yelp
I attempted to get teriyaki chicken here for 5 weeks and only got it once. If you don't eat pork or fish, don't expect this location to offer you anything but scraps for lunch. I will no longer be trying to rely on this place for food for the day.
google avatar

Chloe L.

Yelp
They did sell LEFT OVER BBQ chicken. Today, I bought Mara bbq chicken, and it was literally trash. I can't bite at all. Because I'm Korean, I know what it is. It's like at least two days ago-chicken. Don't buy it. I'm strongly sure they don't manage their food quality at all. If there is zero star, I would like to give them ZERO.
google avatar

Huong L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to come here after work to check out their hot foods and was fairly impress at everything: service, price and quality. Service: the people was super helpful in telling us what the ingredients were in each food. My boyfriend also accidently grabbed the wrong thing and they were willing for us to change after we paid for it. Food: Surprisingly, what ordered turn out to be really good. We got the calamari with rice bowl, a platter of fried food (shrimp tempura, croquette, etc), dumplings and soup. We also got the corn. Everything was pretty good. PRice: because we came later in the day, all the food we got was 30% off. The original price was pretty decent in the first place, but with the 30% off, it was even better. We end up spending around $20 for all the food we got. OVerall, will be back here to try more food!!

Yelp
I haven't been to H Mart, but I saw an article about District H opening in SLU so I had to swing by during its opening weekend. Upon entering, you're immediately greeted with the sight and smells of their prepared hot food grab and go area. That's right, you can pick up pre-made meals, sides, and smaller bites (ex: fish cake skewers). As you walk deeper into the store, on the left is the check-out area (where you pay for any items from the hot food area you just left and any items you may get in the aisles in the store) and to the right is a grill station as well as seating for any items you may want to enjoy afterwards. There are a few microwaves too, for those who need their items hotter. Go down the small set of stairs and you'll get to the little bakery that is not affiliated with the main register/check out area upstairs. The bakery has smaller sweets, variety of breads, and even cakes. I've been to District H twice now, and it seems like they're still trying to find their rhythm (training staff on the registers, stocking, etc.) but I think once everything gets ironed out it'll truly be a go-to hub. So far, I'm a fan of their hot grab and go prepared meals, and their udon packets. Do try to bring your own shopping bag, not only to be environmentally friendly but because they often only have paper bags without handles available. Their bags, handled and not, are pretty flimsy so those who have a long walk and/or will have a lot of items you've been warned. Tips: -Street parking looks pretty terrible, and the store is located on a hill -The store is at the top of a hill, and there isn't an easy spot for Uber/Lyft to drop off or pickup. Still doable, but may be a bit challenging for those who need added assistance -The bakery area gets pretty cleared out (especially their breads) towards the end of the day. So if you're set on a certain item, try to go earlier to avoid running out

Brittany L.

Yelp
This is kind of a weird review but I crashed my line scooter a couple of blocks away from this place on my way home. I scraped up my knee and my hand pretty badly and realized I couldn't just walk the rest of the way home without grabbing a bandaid or wound wipe. I talked to the front counter staff about what happened and they immediately were trying to help me. i Was completely expecting to have to buy band aids and Neosporin but they were kind enough to offer me care, bandaids, wound wipes, and Neosporin. They were so incredibly helpful! And if the staff sees this, thank you so much for helping me And I'm never going to ride a lime scooter down a hill ever again! I'll have to come in when I don't have an emergency thank you!!!

Yelp
District-H was hyped up to be the more upscale, boujee version of HMart, so I went in expecting everything to be priced ludicrously, but they're not TOO bad. Since it's the closest and most accessible spot for Asian groceries to me, it's the most convenient to shop at. The people working there at the cash registers and food stations are really friendly, and welcoming. Everytime I've gone in, they're constantly restocking the shelves, so nothing is ever out, except for the hot food and prepped food station at the front, that can run low or out during peak hours or at night. I came in one time during lunch, and literally EVERYONE was on their lunch break. It was so hectic and crazy, with people bumping shoulders and looking confused on how to use the ipads to make an order. The system is actually pretty effective. You order on the pad, get a number, and go to the food station that you ordered from, and wait for them to call. I expected to be waiting a long time for food, but it took about 5-10 minutes, which is NOT bad for the amount of people who were packed in the store, it was like being in an Asian marketplace aboard all over again. Overall, I liked the food I ordered for lunch. The kimbap was rolled properly and was much larger than expected. The rice cakes (ddukbokki) came in a large cup, and was really spicy. I thought it looked a bit watery, but my mouth was on fire halfway through. I love spicy rice cakes, so the spice was not a deterent, and the cup had fish cakes inside as well! Aside from the hot food, I've purchased baked goods from the Tous Le Jours inside, and they're delicious! If you come late enough, they mark some things down so you can get them for a lower price. Their Yuzu pastry is to die for!

Amber V.

Yelp
The Tonkatsu ramen in the food court is amazing. The pork is thick and tender. Also only $11.99 which is very affordable for Seattle. 10/10 would eat here rather than many other overpriced ramen places in Seattle with paper thin pork.

Yelp
My Korean wife and I really enjoyed this place - it was a fun experience that reminded me of a high end experience like you might find in better parts of Seoul. The food quality was tasty and even the kids loved it. Fun place - I definitely recommend it.
google avatar

Mark Y.

Yelp
Love their selection of "grab and go" hot meals! Especially enjoyed this go around the Korean style bb.q Chicken and tried the spicy version that has at first a slightly sweet coating but the spiciness kick comes in after your first few chews. They have six different sauces for the chicken. Also a must do at the store is heading to grab some of the big selection of items at their bakery too!
google avatar

Cody A.

Yelp
The H Mart employees specially responsible for stocking shelves are disgustingly unprofessional and management doesn't seem to want to do anything about it. Would recommend taking your business elsewhere.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Grab and go Korean meals and basic staples. I can see how this place is a win for the downtown/Amazon workers within walking distance for a quick meal. I wouldn't recommend, however, going out of your way to this space due to the supreme lack of parking and higher prices of packaged foods. When you first enter you're immediately submit to the pre-packaged snacks and meals. While it was VERY tempting to go to town on all those, I took a look at the prices for such simple staples and promptly put it back. There was a surprisingly good amount of packaged fresh veggies and kimchi but again at a higher price than going to the regular H-mart. The food stalls were closed when we went, however, nothing really stood out to me. Fun to visit, but probably not the most economical when it comes to getting groceries.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Thought I found a decent spot to grab a quick bite for lunch from the prepared hot box. Went for the second time and the batch of chicken I had today was spoiled. Even after being cooked it smelled spoiled and full of ammonia. Unfortunately ate a piece before inspecting that and smelt the ammonia smell from the bad meat for hours from ingesting it
google avatar

Lali L.

Yelp
Be mindful of what you put in your cart, some items are overpriced. The food was disappointing. Save your money to somewhere else. Employees were very rude. Will not come back again.

Yelp
District H is to H Mart as Kai Market is to Uwajimaya... the upscale, higher-priced SLU boutique version of the store. But hey, if you live or work in SLU and can't easily get over to the ID or U-district, this is a viable option for getting some Asian grocery essentials and/or picking up a quick lunch. Lunch options include a grab-and-go cold case and hot case at the store entrance, which have their own dedicated register right at the door to make things fast, which is nice. Bowls (including poke and chirashi bowls) range from $8-11, although they looked a little on the skimpy side, maybe only 2/3 full. There's also a food court serving up grilled meat, dumplings and kimbap. You use screens to place your order and pick up your food downstairs, next to the Tous les Jours bakery. Tous les Jours is much like 85 Degrees - some items like bread loaves or pastries are prebagged to grab-and-go, but most are in cases. You pick up a tray and tongs and work your way around, grabbing your selections and taking them to the front to pay. By the registers, there's a hot case with a few savory items like croquettes. There's also a cold case with macarons, cake slices, and very cute whole cakes. Individual pastries range from $2-5; I tried a cocoa hazelnut croissant ($3.50) that was pretty fresh, flaky, and had a nice presentation with chopped cocoa nibs sprinkled on top. The grocery part of the store is bigger than Kai Market and has a better selection overall. It has a smallish produce section, some fresh packaged meat and fish, and a pretty large frozen section with meat, fish, rice cakes and noodles, convenience foods like dumplings and meals, and frozen desserts and ice cream. There's also a selection of ramen packets, sauces, cooking ingredients, chips, cookies and candy (although the snack selection is surprisingly small, since I would think that's what a lot of people are here for). The layout and size is very similar to the H Mart in the U-district. The store is new, and as others noted, they're still working out the grand-opening growing pains. But the employees seem friendly and chatty, and they were busy restocking the shelves for the lunch rush, so everything seems fresh and good-quality. Overall, I'm happy to see this new addition to the lunch lineup in SLU!

Yelp
Went twice, first time - I was ecstatic! Delicious fast food! Kimbop, dumplings, dumplings, dumplings, teokkboke, however that's is spelt & pastries, oh my! All the glory. Why the three stars? The HOURS. Do note, hot food stations are only open, 11am-2pm & 3pm-5pm. So, only during those times do they offer the freshly prepared items. Such a bummer to roll up there 6:00 and have some hot tray pre-packaged leftovers available... Which were bad, ate some bits and left the whole package. Makes one wish for a 7-11 in Hawaii, that stuff is delicious, this was meh. The grocery market however is great in it's selections of sauces, snacks, frozen dumplings. Mangosteens! Papaya's! They have all the delicious things without having to travel to Lynnwood or uwajimaya. It was really sad not to get the hot, freshly prepared foods. So do note the times since they are not posted anywhere online. 5pm is super early, I hope they extend this to all day during their open hours.

Yelp
Pretty happy with the options here. I had to be mindful of the different items I put in my cart. Some items were reasonably priced while others were very expensive. Overall, the place is very clean and the staff is super sweet. I wish there were more food stations! Also, I was trying to find the Bim Bim Bop hours online, but couldn't really find much. I tried to order sushi from the bar station, but I was told sushi closes at 5:30, after being told it was open until 7. Then, I tried to order the chicken, but I was told I had to go up and grab the chicken that had been sitting out - and they didn't have the flavor I wanted. My review of the bar: it would be nice to have hours posted that were honored. Hours aren't posted and the bar doesn't stay open even when told it is. My review of the chicken: I wouldn't get it again. It's very dry and hard - to the point that I couldn't tell if I was biting into bone or chicken. Please invest in staff to keep the hot bars open. I know that's a big ask, but people will come if they open!

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy after being profiled by the security guard. Came in at 9:10PM to get drinks for my dinner. Security guard promptly comes over and tells myself and my partner that we need to "sprint through the store" because they're closing. Ok.... He then proceeds to stand 2 feet away from me - a Black woman - but not my partner - an East Asian man. He continues to follow me while I pick up snacks, throughout the store. Once I hand over my selections to my partner, he backs off and watches from much further away. Once I pick up another item, though, he's back again. I ended up crying in the aisle because he was not even hiding the fact that he was following me. I don't know if it's the store's policy or this wanna-be security guard decided that Black folks aren't allowed to enjoy snacks, but regardless I won't be back.

Yelp
This place is good and convenient to grab Asian Food items from when you're missing a couple of things in your kitchen. My favorite part about going here is getting fried chicken from bbq chicken while I shop. Although they have ready made buckets at the front of the store, I like to order it fresh from the counter and wait for it while I shop. The fresh chicken is one of the best Korean Fried Chicken I've had in Seattle and I would definitely recommend you to try it. This place is smaller than other grocery stores and can be a little pricier but it is worth it for the convenience.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of this place/concept and would definitely return to try out some other options in the food hall. District H itself is an Asian (Korean céntric) supermarket with food options attached that you can order at a central kiosk. There's lots of soju and other Korean snack options! They themselves also have their own hot food section. I got a kalbi beef bowl and a Korean sweet pancake. The pancake tasted interesting, just not really my style but I liked the texture. The kalbi beef tasted good but I felt it was a little bit small in terms of the price. Overall I'd definitely give this place a go! Food hall options include Korean rolls, grilled options, a bakery and dim sum stall.

Yelp
This place would be so much better if they were more consistent with the products they carry. Every time I find something I really like, they never restock it again (like a specific brand of kimchi or snack for example). It gets a bit frustrating. I've even asked if they could restock on specific items and while they say they'll look into it, nothing ever changes. Please do better because I really want to keep going here knowing that I will find what I'm looking for.

Yelp
First of all, this place is so busy! It's so much controlled chaos with so many moving parts that somehow are so seamless. The layout of the store with the various food stations is something to get used to but they make use of every square inch of space. The feng shui could be better but they work with it well. I came during the Friday lunch rush and it was packed with mainly tech workers grabbing their lunch as well. Key point is you must order from the kiosks if you want one of the menu items that are not ready made. The entrance has the usual donburi type bowls and drinks. The ordering system is very straight forward and easy to use. Once you place your order you get a ticket with your number. Whichever station you ordered from, each has a designated side for order pickups. I literally waited just 5 minutes for my bibimbab even though it was peak lunch rush. Although all the ingredients themselves are premade, each individual ingredient was delicious by itself and in the combined bowl. The rice was warm and fluffy. The pork was nicely flavored and provided a nice chew. The bracken and all the other greens lightened the dish and made me feel like I made a healthy choice The spicy sauce that gets mixed in was not too salty and really rounded out all the flavors. My one bibimbab was roughly $12 and left me full. I ate every last bit and left me feeling very satisfied. I will definitely be coming back for lunch even though it's a 10 minute walk from my workplace.
