"The Day Docks at the Wharf Marina offer hourly side-tie dockage every day during the boating season. If your stay is longer than a few hours, check out the accommodations at Market Docks. The spaces are available on a first-come basis and range between $30 to $50 an hour. But a spot here gives you access to all the bars and restaurants the Southwest Waterfront stretch has to offer. Starting this weekend, a slice of the Wharf transforms into a Pixar-themed mini-golf course through the summer." - Claudia Rosenbaum

"Don you dirndl or lederhosen starting Friday, September 15, and head to the Southwest Waterfront all weekend for German fare, stein-hoisting contests, and Sam Adams Octoberfest pours at participating bars at the Wharf (Boardwalk Bar & Arcade, Brighton SW1, Canopy Central, Cantina Bambina, Easy Company, H-Bar at Hyatt House, Kaliwa, Kirwans On The Wharf, Lucky Buns, Whiskey Charlie and Rappahannock Oyster Bar). The 11th annual Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash is set for Saturday, September 16. View the full Oktoberfest lineup here." - Tierney Plumb

"This summer there's a live music- and oyster-filled party running from July 14 to September 30 at Fisherman’s Wharf: OysterFest kicks off on Friday, July 14 with five weeks of oyster-centric pop-ups on Fridays (beginning with Small Change Oyster Bar) and Pier Party at the Wharf continues starting August 18 with performances shifting to Saturdays from 2 to 6 p.m. through September 30; the event and live music stage are free to attend." - Dianne de Guzman

"I found that the biggest night market of its kind takes over the Southwest Waterfront’s lengthy District Pier (101 District Square SW) on Saturday, May 20, featuring food from more than 18 AAPI chefs and running two sessions (2–5:30 p.m. and 6:30–10 p.m.). Tickets ($20) grant access to stalls from D.C. chefs including Tim Ma (Lucky Danger), Victoria Lai (Ice Cream Jubilee), Julie Cortes (Kaliwa), Patrice Cunningham (Tae-Gu Kimchi), Scott Chung (Bun’d Up, Sparrow Room) and Jerome Grant (Mahal); food and beverage are available for purchase and each session includes entertainment from local musicians plus surprises. On the eve of the festival I also note a seated, multi-course “Dinner on the Dock” served on one communal table spanning the length of District Pier (6:30–10 p.m., $350 per person) that features dishes such as som tom from Palita Sriratana (Pink Salt, Chicago), Thai-style smoked pork shoulder from Timon Balloo (The Katherine, Miami) and egg tofu by Christine Lau (The CLAU Group, New York City), with visiting chefs joining from across the U.S." - Tierney Plumb

"The currently-closed Wharf concert venue The Anthem is switching gears to introduce outdoor dining in cabana tents along the District Pier with Camp Anthem opening to the public on Friday, June 19; each table seats up to six with a $250 minimum per table and a 20% gratuity, reservations are required, dogs on leashes are welcome, and the menu includes snacks like shrimp kebabs and chicken tenders, entrees such as crab cakes, vegan sandwiches, and pulled pork barbecue, plus dessert, wine, beer, and cocktails." - Adele Chapin
