Google
I stopped by District Taco recently for a quick bite and had a pretty average fast-food experience. The service was good—friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. I ordered the fish tacos, and while they weren’t bad, they didn’t really stand out either. The flavors were mild and the toppings were standard—not much wow factor, but they got the job done. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking for something quick and filling. I left with a full stomach, but it wasn’t a meal I’d rave about. Just a regular fast food taco run—nothing more, nothing less.

Google
it was okay... I had the 3 tacos - chicken and steak. They were room temperature. I was not too excited about them. oh yes, no salsa verde. 🙄 The service was good, tho. Shout out to Reyner.

Google
Very clean, service was fast for the quality and previously I made a mistake on my order which the staff were happy to correct for me free of charge! Overall, very satisfied and will be a return customer!!

Google
Great food! Lots of options for a build your own taco/burrito/bowl. Very flavorful. This location was very dirty on the day we visited. Every table, the floor, and the restrooms were all visibly dirty. A bit of a turn off. But the food is awesome!

Google
I’ve never eaten dog food but I’m guessing it would taste like District Taco’s steak. It was hard, dry, tasteless and completely inedible. It tasted like it had been sitting in a heated container for 24 hours and was well past it’s ‘serve by’ date. Everything is automated now so their business model must be to limit employee interaction with customers which just adds to the unpleasant experience. Tables don’t appear to be wiped down. There was trash and food on the floor and some delivery guy literally rode his electric scooter/moped into the store past customers coming and going. It was like the Wild West in here. I would love for a taco place to succeed but this business jumped the shark a long time ago and it’s getting worse by the day.

Google
Oh my gosh, this is my first time the customer service amazing I’ve been welcome to buy the server Mf Celso m so he was amazing. I enjoyed the food despise. Let me tell you better stop by and let support is amazing.

Google
Brought the kids here for lunch since I enjoyed it so much before. New location for me. Son wasn’t happy with his burrito. He said no one orders a rice burrito with a little steak. Last time I enjoyed chicken taco the most so I got 2 chicken and a fish. The fish was really good. I got more fish this time around. Chicken not so happy with. It was more chopped up than I liked. Overall it was still good. Orange jarritos for me this time.

Google
Absolutely incredible experience. The district taco has touched my heart, but first I understand it’s the quality of cooking the speed of the service delivery and the kindness of the staff that have me always coming back for more.

Yelp
A solid chipotle knockoff with digital ordering. I had chips and guac, which were solid, and a salad which was good as well. I'd probably skip the steak for a different protein.

Yelp
Best fish burrito I had in a long time ! My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito & he loved it so much. The food tasted very fresh & it was hot. The servers took their time with our special request & it was SOO GOOD. We did not eat inside, but it is clean & a lot of people were dining in.

Yelp
I'm a taco lover and these tacos just didn't do it for me and I went in with high expectations. I got 3 steak tacos with all the fixings and they were just blah. The churros were delicious though and make sure you get the chocolate sauce. The place was clean and the staff is friendly. Very easy ordering system and the food came out very quickly.

Yelp
The ordering process was quick and easy when I came in, it wasn't too busy at 7:00 PM on a Monday night. The music was somewhat loud through the speakers & decided to eat the tacos outside. They truly pack the tacos with as many toppings as one would like and it was very filling, the mild salsa hit the spot too!

Yelp
I've really enjoyed the quesadillas here, so I can't rate any of their other offerings. The marinated pork is quite good and I really liked the steak as well. It had a nice smoky flavor. Nice big portions and I'm a sucker for a soda machine with multiple flavor options. I really like that they have an expo during the lunch rush who keeps the orders organized and gets your food out promptly. They have some good hot sauces, but the salsa for the chips was quite watery and a bit bland. I like the customizations that they offer online.

Yelp
I ordered 3 tacos to go. I like that they are individually wrapped. I've ordered the steak bowl before so I was excited to order the tacos, however I was sadly disappointed. The meat was extremely dry and tough this time. Also, I added onion & cilantro to the tacos like traditional street tacos. usually this is finely chopped but that's not what I got. The diced onions were as big as the beef chunks!

Yelp
District Taco in Silver Spring is GOOD, very good. Fresh ingredients, solid tacos, and a nice place to grab a bite. But let's be honest, the BEST Mexican food? The taco bowl at Trump Tower Grill. Nobody does it better--so much flavor, so much winning! Great stuff!
google avatar

Yelp
Today I'm thankful for district taco. If I need a quick meal, I know exactly where to go. I always feel full and have enough for two meals. My go to item is the nachos barrachos. I've sadly ordered delivery from them too. The staff is also always nice. I'm glad to have district taco in our backyard.

Yelp
I really recommend this place, the food is so good and what I liked the most was the attention to the customer!!
google avatar

Yelp
That breakfast burrito hit the spot in the morning after a night out! The online ordering process was a bit confusing because it lists ingredients twice - I would recommend ordering in person instead. They are also huge for $10, I couldn't finish mine!

Yelp
So we ordered DoorDash because this is one of the few tacos places that offered a fish option...if only I could go back. They have a few options when it comes to the style of taco (corn, flour, gluten-free); Mexican way, Jefe way, American way; lots of toppings to add...but the most important thing they didn't offer was flavor. I prefer tacos Mexican style (cilantro&onion) so the flavors of whatever you choose have a chance to shine...too bad the meat, chicken, AND fish were incredibly dry. There's a serious lack of seasoning, so those other toppings become necessary. You're going to need a few of them. The medium salsa tasted like tomato sauce. No heat whatsoever. The corn tortillas were actually delicious, as were the churros. They were so long and had the perfect crunch! I would stick to the vegan "meat" option (it was surprisingly tasty) with whatever toppings you want and churros. Side note: They weren't kidding about the garlic lime rice. It packs a serious garlic flavor.

Yelp
Accepts both cash and credit card. You can also order from UBEREATs and on their website. I never heard of district taco before, but I guess they are found in numerous locations. We decided to give this place a try. We were craving tacos and tried this place. We ordered their tacos (chicken, barbacoa, and steak). Of the three tacos, the steak was our favorite. For each taco, you have options for toppings. They do have an extensive list of toppings to choose from. Once you select your toppings, the tacos are wrapped together and wrapped all together in foil. They do pack a decent amount of toppings in the tacos. Very good weight. If you are in the mood for tacos, I think this is a decent option. At the time, 3 tacos was around $10, but the tacos are packed with ingredients. Also, you can choose whether you want corn or flour tortilla.

Yelp
The tacos were disgusting! Had a terrible taste and an odor. The salsa had an unappetizing aftertaste! Have it to my dog!

Yelp
This was my first visit here for dinner on 10/15/19, which used to be Oriental East Restaurant. The layout changed dramatically. You order and pay at the counter. If dining in, a server will bring your order to your table. The workers were friendly. While you wait, you can obtain different salsas (free) to add as toppings. It took 10 minutes for my order to arrive at my table. I had 2 grilled fish tacos for $3.59 each, which is only available on Tuesday, Friday, and weekends. The tacos were served cold and pieces of fish were salty. I was expecting the tacos to be warm. I recommend going to California Tortilla for fish tacos in the local area. They are cheaper and taste much better. I may come back again and try something different and hopefully it will be served hot.
google avatar

Yelp
Simply not good tacos. Meats have almost no flavor. Every taco tasted only like onion and cilantro. I want to like the place, but I'd go almost anywhere else if you want flavorful food.
google avatar

Keisha H.

Yelp
Okay okay! I'm ready to weigh in! I wanted to rate DT higher but it's always something minor that ends up holding me back. The order is messed up, something is missing, hard to get assistance...something. The food: (could be better category) nachos... tried it, had better. Fish taco... tried it unimpressed. (Personal faves) shrimp tacos, amongst my faves but if slaw and/or chipotle mayo isn't your thing you may wanna pass. Chorizo tacos, chorizo makes everything better. Fuerte (bacon) breakfast taco, who doesn't like bacon?! Side of guacamole, taste pretty fresh. (Sufficient) chorizo quesadilla, like I said... chorizo makes everything better. The chips, prob my least favorite chips to go with salsa and/or guacamole. As of this post you still couldn't order online but allegedly they're supposed to get it next week, so that's a drawback. But it's convenient for me so I'll still be coming!

Yelp
My friend and I visited around 6:30pm and a brief wait in line. As most District Tacos are laid out, this one is long and narrow as well with plenty of seating including booths along the inside walls. There's their centrally located salsa bar, which was full of jalapeños, cilantro, and three kinds of sauces. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The food delivery guy offered to drop off my food at my table because my hands were full. Like Chick-fil-A where they're all trained to say, "My pleasure," here they all say, "Buen Provecho." I ordered three build-your-own veggie tacos in "the American way." The ingredients were fresh, neatly assembled, and tasted great! I also ordered chips and queso. The queso is 4 oz, which is that tiny little plastic container and very very little for the amount of chips you get. Queso was fresh and hot and chips were crispy and adequately salted. There is plenty of parking out front, it is walking distance from the Silver Spring Metro (when exiting metro, take the exits on the LEFT), and near many bus stops, so getting here is no issue.

Yelp
I'm sad that I was out of town for the grand opening, but I don't think I would have waited in a long line for a free $3.00 taco. I finally made it here today, but coming at 12:10 probably wasn't the wisest idea. The line was long, but it moved quickly. I was disappointed that I couldn't use my District Taco app to preorder; Silver Spring hasn't been added yet. I knew exactly what I wanted - fish tacos! They're only available on Tuesdays, and Friday-Sunday. I had to plan my visit accordingly. I was able to use my app to pay, so that was quick and easy. I got my tacos to go. I'm going to assume that my tacos were pre-made because 1) I got my order (#44) before several people with order numbers in the 30s, and 2) my fish was cold, and so was the tortillas like they were kept refrigerated. I only live one mile away, so it wasn't my commute. This wasn't a big problem because I was able to microwave them. They were still good as always. I like that you buy single fish and shrimp tacos here. In Riverdale, the only option is to buy three. Several people mentioned that there is plenty of parking. However, it's a bit of a nightmare. There's construction and some of the lot directly behind DT is blocked off. The pick-up only spots are not used for that purpose because I was picking up and the cars did not change. Also, some rows are one way only and cars don't heed the rules. So, be cautious when parking. I will be back for their shrimp tacos, but I will be sure to come at a non peak hour.

Yelp
The food is really good if you're looking for inexpensive tacos/burritos etc. I really like how the customer has the option to choose how the taco will be "set off". American, jefe.... You have to see the menu to understand what I'm talking about. I never leave here unsatisfied. The staff is always nice. The place is always clean and the food is always delicious. I'd rather come here than chipotle. Just saying.

Galan V.

Yelp
Yummy I really enjoy my burrito RECOMENDADISIMO !!! Buen servicio&ambiente buena presentación de la tienda.

Yelp
District taco is a decent fast casual spot with reasonable prices. Their ingredients leave a bit to be desired in the flavor department, but it's an easy and convenient option in Silver Spring. I've been meaning to try their breakfast options because who doesn't love a breakfast taco! This location has easy parking beside the building and ample seating inside.
google avatar

Yelp
To all of those who have had a 1-star experience here, I'd like to offer my sincerest condolences to you and your families. I've personally never experienced a lackluster experience here, and it's probably because I'm YELP ELITE. Let's be honest here - local businesses know our opinions matter most! But really though y'all - DT has been solid for me pre COVID-19 AND in phase 1-2-3 (which one are we in again?). I always order the three taco combo (with chorizo, pollo and/or carne asada) and ask for the slightly spicy mestizo sauce (the best on the menu, in my humble opinion). District Taco also has an app that you can use to earn a $10 reward (by spending $100) by scanning a QR code in store, or choosing to pay ahead on the app. Staff are friendly and never balk at me requesting extra sauce when I go in-store to pick up. FYI: there's social distancing approved outdoor seating here for those of y'all that want it!
google avatar

Donyiel C.

Yelp
I love tacos! I also love DT, but not all locations are the same. My first time here was last Friday and it was a good experience. I had no issues! I placed an order on the app for take-out and my food was ready when I arrived. Speaking of the app, download it so you can rack up points and freebies! I used to frequent the Metro Center location so I'm familiar with this chain. I went there so much, the employees recognized me! Due to Covid-19, only outdoor seating is available right now...plenty of seating by the way. Masks were worn by the staff and there were clear signs advising customers that masks were mandatory. So about the food. I really enjoyed my tacos. Everything was fresh and tasty. I only got three and maybe I should have gotten four, but I didn't want to be greedy. I usually get the flour tacos with carne asada and a decent amount of toppings! I have tried the corn tortillas before but it tends to break apart so I would suggest that only if you plan to eat them right there! So because of Covid-19, the salsa bar isn't open and that makes sense. You can request it and they'll place it in your bag! The parking lot is a bit bizarre so be careful parking here!
google avatar

Nelson E.

Yelp
First time her and I was expecting this to be in the level of Taco Bamba or Taco Zocalo from the look if the store. Was surprised it is not even an improvement to Taco Bell. I got 3 different tacos, steak, pulled pork and carnitas. All bland like something having a covid tongue. There are no kiosks for sauce, you'll have to go back to the counter and ask for hot sauce.

Courtney W.

Yelp
i literally only get the churros from here. Nothing else has flavor or it has a nasty aftertaste to it. Breakfast burritos was pretty nasty, lunch food was right along with it.
google avatar

DJ L.

Yelp
My work has gotten delivery from this place twice already. They have always been accommodating, so if you're on the fence about ordering from here - just do it! First time was last month and everything was packaged so well! Names labeled on orders, sauces galore, etc. It came in a huge, adorable, reusable bag. There were no mistakes, which can be hard with an online order of 10 people. Second time ordering was today. I needed to add two more items to an existing online order. Diana was AMAZING!! She was so patient, understanding, and kind. Super sweet and hope you get to a chance to chat with her. She took my two new orders over the phone and made everything so smooth! No complaints from us!

Yelp
The best food to come out of dc! (Even if I visited the one in maryland) Seriously though, amazing tacos. And the closest to authentic street tacos I've been able to find with the convenience of a storefront. My favorite is the fish or shrimp tacos (which are only served on certain days so check the website first!) and of course the corn tortillas which seem to be uncommon in this area!
google avatar

Danyelle D.

Yelp
First time here. I will say the customer service was ok, but the food is not that great. I do like that they have different shells (corn and flour) wish they had hard shell though. But back to the taste, (and this info given to me by my husband as I don't eat meat) but the pulled pork had no flavor at all. The pork and pineapple had a better flavor because of the pineapple, but still bland. The steak had best flavor but nothing special. The burrito is so disappointing. I love black bean and rice burritos and was very shocked to receive a basically rice burrito. The flavor was good though. But really, just rice?! I don't think I will be going back. But at least I tried.
google avatar

Evelyn T.

Yelp
Went there for dinner with my husband and based on our view as we were about to pay, my husband refused to order anything because of what we could see in their kitchen. The meat was there unrefrigerated and unattended for a while, food handling conditions are super questionable. The kitchen area looks dirty, we were literally afraid to eat there.
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Gloves and face masks were used by all staff. I had very little time to look over the variety of items on the menu. I just ordered a burrito and a pineapple soda and took it to go. The burrito is so big, you'll need both hands! They have outdoor tables, on the side walks. Weather permitting, I'm sold on outdoor tables. Very relaxing
google avatar

Charles M.

Yelp
What can you say to free tacos? Yes! That's what I said. I'm so glad they opened this location near my office. I've been waiting for them to open since they announced it last year sometime. I arrived around 11:30 and the line was around the building. I was thankful to be one of the first 100 who got "swag bags" ( sunglasses, can cooler, and phone pop socket) and free lunch. Although I suspect they fed all the people in the line. It had to be 162 people in line and they worked efficiently and effectively to plow through the masses. I got the three shrimp tacos and my cohorts... who accompanied me on this mission got tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. Everything looked and smelled amazing. I don't have one complaint. I will be back very soon!
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Fish tacos had barely any fish and I didn't realize I could have filled it up. The menu was t clear. Carne asada with stuffings were real good with 7 toppings Now I know
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
This district taco is decent. The ambience is nice and it's kept relatively clean. The employees are always very nice. The food itself is very average, although I don't expect high quality food from a "fast food" chain. The food here is the type of food you would get if you're in a hurry and just need to grab something to eat, like Chipotle. While it does taste ok, sometimes the texture isn't consist. Most recently I've had shrimp tacos and the texture of the tortilla was different for all 3 tacos. One of the tortillas was very hard (they were supposed to be soft) and chewy. Overall, if you're in a hurry or just need to get something quickly to eat then I'd recommend DT. But if you're looking to get some good quality Mexican/mexican-american food, of course go somewhere else.
google avatar

Tia S.

Yelp
My husband loves this place and usually goes to the location in DC by his job. I got the bowl and felt they were being real stingy with the ingredients.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
Enjoyed such a couple wonderful meals here. The staff were really accommodating when I told them I was trying to avoid carbs and such. I've had the shrimp taco (without the taco, of course) which had a perfect balance between the heat of the shrimp and the coolness of the coleslaw. The pulled pork bowl made my eyes roll back in my head it was soooo good. The meat wasn't chewy or submerged in sauce and again, it combined with the coleslaw flawlessly. I really encourage you to take this location for a spin. They have a great handle on food and people.

Sean G.

Yelp
Way overpriced for really low quality food. The worst quesadilla I've ever had. It tasted like they used potato as filler? The steak in the quesadilla was bone dry. The flour tortilla was store brand grocery store quality. The fish tacos were alright. The corn tortillas were bizarrely thick but the fish was ok. Not a ton of flavor. The chips (which were like $2+ extra; almost $5 if you want chips and salsa WTF) were straight trash. Great Value brand tortilla chips are better. $33 for a trash quesadilla, mediocre fish tacos, a couple bottled drinks and Dollar General level tortilla chips. Nah.
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
We ordered two burritos in our group order, both "make your own", along with chips and queso. What we got: completely stale chips, but I must say the queso was very good, albeit small. Came in a tiny sauce container. Both burritos had zero taste to them. I thought that all the sauce and cheese would be somewhere in the middle of the burrito until I realized they had missed those completely. And then my boyfriend realized the same thing. They had left out the sour cream, cheese, and spicy Mayo in mine, along with my boyfriends, even though we had completely different orders. Less of a big deal but annoying was that the carnitas I got came In cubes, and stayed in chunks so a bite would pull out an entire block of pork. The meat was not evenly distributed. Was not a fan of district tacos.
google avatar

Jillian S.

Yelp
I REALLY want to like this place. Wonderful story, local...but each time I've ordered, it's bee wrong. I'll give it another try and honestly, the flavor is great. I just wish I got what I actually ordered. Keep supporting them. I will and hope it gets better.
google avatar

Elaine A.

Yelp
So yummmmm! Friendly staff, followed Covid safety, delicious and tasty tacos! Fresh ingredients. Just an overall great experience! I would definitely return!
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
I visited DT on their opening day. The staff was well trained, friendly and efficient. The food was great. Twice now during the pandemic I have used Door Dash to order food; May and July. Truth be told, DT should NOT allow these types of services to deliver their food. Both times both meals were cold, soggy and an overall unpleasant eating experience. Gross would be the word I would use. Door Dash was timely and made the 4 mile journey promptly. DT food is just not travel friendly. If you can dine in great, but don't have it delivered or pick up to take home.

Margaret E.

Yelp
Food was delicious had a large variety of toppings. Chips were hot and fresh queso. Staff was friendly. Store was clean. Great lunch !!

James T.

Yelp
I like this place. However, I feel they are taking advantage of recent inflation. I usually go in person but my most recent online order (where I can confirm pricing) was a little under 2 years ago. The same burrito in 2020 was $10.82 but now is $14.45. On top of that I was floored that adding extra steak would cost more than $6.00! I realize wages are going up because it's hard to find workers. I'm all for that even if it's not hard to find workers. I also realize that meat prices are going up quite a bit (though farmers aren't enjoying nearly as much of the price appreciation as middlemen and retailers). That's all fine but increasing the price by 33% over a period under 2 years doesn't seem right. And it's very hard to justify the price of extra meat. I don't know if it would be a double portion or not but the closest Chipotle charges $4.45 for double steak. I do believe the quality at District Taco is better than Chipotle so that helps justify the prices. Note too that the Chipotle is in an ostensibly more desirable business location so they might pay a higher rental rate. I'd like to be fair to the business so I'd like to see them respond to this posting.

Steff E.

Yelp
Not worth it. Ordered a "California burrito", 3 tacos, and 3 churros. Everything was bland or overly salty and way overpriced. When we picked up our doordash order and saw it was one small bag we asked if that was it and they said yes. None of the sauces were included and the portion sizes were ridiculously small. If I wanted to spend $17 for a carne asada California burrito I'd just buy the ingredients and make it myself.

Robell C.

Yelp
The service is poor the people are awful I don't think they know how to take measures to make you joyful. They lack customer service

Tyler L.

Yelp
The food was okay. Dismissive staff who don't follow instruction well - stingy with ingredients and it felt like pulling teeth asking them for what I paid $40 for.
google avatar

Lindsay V.

Yelp
Food here is good but the District Taco app and rewards system is so terrible it feels deceiving. The machines only accept payment through phone 50% of the time. And when they do, I accumulate points but then can only redeem rewards 50% of the time. I just tried to use my $10 reward and the cashier told me to just pay with the app. I did, and I did not get to use the reward. Rewards are supposed to incentivize but they don't when they're this unreliable!! Also wish they would bring back pinto beans and the mild green salsa.
google avatar

Blanca U.

Yelp
They are OK tacos. Not something I would want to eat again. The tortillas tasted different then an authentic 'normal' tortillas and the special sauce they put in the burritos was an interesting flavor.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
The new kiosk ordering at this District Taco is useless. It near triples the amount of time required to place an order at District Taco. Just shows that Brandon and the other living wage fools have gotten District Taco to replace their friendly staff with machines so they dont have to be paid to work. Living wage has now destroyed the customer service at district taco. I guess that why the prices are similar to what they have been for awhile at District Taco. I miss good tacos, $1.99 gas and a nice friendly face at the counter at District Taco.
google avatar

Kendall P.

Yelp
For about eight months, I've had District Taco almost monthly. Last night, I ordered two of my go to tacos (pollo asado and barbacoa), and chorizo with onion and cilantro (Mexican way). Colorado and Mestizo sauces. I also tried the chips and salsa too. The tacos were pretty good, sauces were nice. I think they could really improve the salsa that comes with the chips. To me, it really lacked any spice or taste to it. Chips are good though next time I might order those and make my own salsa.
