"District Wine is a downtown wine bar that looks fancy, but is really just a laid-back spot with a great patio for summertime wine drinking. Most people sit under the string lights and murmur things about “bold tannins” and “hints of leather.” But you could also bring a group of friends on your birthday or a date who you want to impress with your knowledge of growing regions. They usually stop pouring wine around 9pm, but on warm nights, locals usually hang out and chat for hours after that. " - brant cox, nikko duren

The District Wine 🍷 is a great date restaurant. The vibe here is so relaxing. Also great for small groups. There is a large selection of wine in this small restaurant. The restaurant has selection within the restaurant for groups settings or for intimate setting. There is outdoor seating as well. I adore the decor inside. I class touch! The food is a great paring with wine. The hostess of the restaurant is very attentive to each quests. This is a trendy crowd atmosphere. Alive and full of fun! Credit card payments are accepted. I came here with a small group of women the learn calligraphy. Theresa with sip and scrip was awesome with her instructions. This was the perfect place to host a group. There is street meter parking. Free parking on Sundays. I recommend this restaurant as a must visit when you are in downtown Long Beach CA area.

The family brought my aunt for her 79th birthday. She absolutely LOVED it. The food is amazing, and even though I don't really drink, the huge selection is impressive. My only issue was the lighting. It's kinda dark in there, but if you go for a date night, it would be perfect.

Google
Fun spot to stop for some wine or have lunch. They offer outdoor seating which I like alot especially on a nice day. Prime Downtown Long Beach location off Linden and 1st Street. They serve tapas and can easily be shared. We shared the caprese salad, curry mac & cheese, and shrimp ceviche.

I host a monthly Wine Wednesday and karaoke over in Long Beach which I've been doing for over a year. When our usual spot closed down a few months ago, I was told to check out District Wine. It came highly recommended for the wine, happy hour, and that it was woman-owned. (I'm a part of a local ladies group). I reached out via email and IG to see if they could accommodate us for our monthly meets. Angela responded in both forms of communication and was happy to take our group. Now, our group can range from between 10 to 20 people at times. I was given options on where we could hang out. Inside, outside. I asked how the checks would be cared for and everyone would have their own tab. It was very convenient! First meet we had there, we reserved the inside couch area. The food and wine were so delicious! My friends were very impressed with that and the service. Angela was also there to greet me and the group to make sure we were good. The group got bigger and we were offered to move outside, which we did. I asked for everyone's feedback and they were all very happy with the new spot. There was even one time at another meet where it was super windy and we were offered BLANKETS! OMG! BLANKETS!? Like I've never had that option before, this place is really awesome! And now District Wine is our monthly go to spot for my group. This is a must have place to stop by in if you haven't already! Cheers 🍷🥂

Google
Great atmosphere and a nice selection of small plates, makes this a wonderful intimate location for a small party or date that would be fun and allow for close conversations. Their wine list was OK however I don't remember it being extensive however their happy hour is quite nice and good choices. Think small bites for food. Interesting but small bites.

Had an amazing experience for my birthday. From the beautifully prepared apps to the wine and friendly and attentive service I will be making District Wine a regular visit and so should you!

Google
Great spot for indoor and outdoor hanging out. Great atmosphere and delicious wine selection. Happy hour wine is so good. This place puts on different special event nights from local artisans like offering a raclette cheese dish occasionally.

Google
Enjoyed a wine flight, sangria, and a few delicious appetizers. I would suggest stopping by for happy hour. Great prices, friendly staff, and a wide variety of wines :)

Yelp
#CleanPlateCub Best brunch and tapas in LBC. Strawberry Basil Mimosas. Curry Mac and Cheese. BBQ Pork Sliders. Prosciutto Wrapped Dates. Amaaaaazing. The delicious food is almost equal to the amazing service.

Yelp
Five of us checked out District Wine for their Happy Hour which runs 4-6 Wednesday - Friday; 2-5 pm on Saturdays. Closed Monday & Tuesday. I had a great glass(es) of Chardonnay for a great price - $6. We ordered the Shishito Peppers which were grilled to perfection and have an amazing sweet sauce. Great starter. The Charcuterie and Cheese Plate was plentiful albeit I prefer more bread than crackers. A friend ordered a Margherita Flatbread. I was not impressed. As a final order I got the Gorgonzola Honey Crostini which was FABULOUS. I'll be back for more of that and the Peppers! The place has areas to relax with friends but also a few large tables where you might mingle with someone new! Glad this place is downtown!

Yelp
My parents were in town and we needed a chill place that was parent friendly. District wine was the perfect place! Made a reservation for 4pm, but I was mega late. Luckily, my parents were well taken care of and had already gotten themselves started with a bottle of Pinot (delicious). The food was good too! We started with brisket flatbread and also had the curry mac and cheese. My favorite out of the two was the flatbread. Im a sucker for great customer service, our waitress was kind, friendly, and added to the comfortable atmosphere! This was such a great place! It was a relaxed environment and Ill definitely meet my parents here again!

Yelp
Came in for a private but was able to check out the space. Loved the deco and the setup. There is ample outdoor seating which is wonderful on a warm summer evening. We had a variety of appetizers that were really good. The staff was friendly , fast and helpful. They also had a nice selection of wines. Definitely plan to return. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!! Also if you're considering a space for a party, shower or other event, check them out!!

Jowel G.

Yelp
What a cozy neighborhood wine bar. We were invited to come out for a small event and what a great choice. Enjoyed a glass of sangria which wasn't too sweet with diced fresh fruit and the raspberry beret which was champagne with a scoop of raspberry sorbet was excellent!!! Sliders come as a pair with a side salad. Good choice of brisket and not saucy which I prefer. Lettuce cups with mushroom was interesting and something I've never had before. Good to have on days when you just want to abstain from meat. A good choice for vegans. Again, this is a cozy place to catch up with friends or even a small event. Service is good with a friendly staff. Recommend.

Adam S.

Yelp
Great wine, service and ambiance. We went mid week early afternoon. Our first time in and we will definitely return.

Lorenzo A.

Yelp
Let's keep yelp real!!! This is a local gem and one of our favorite places to hang out at....maybe one of the best happy hour menus in the city. The interior is a dark and moody vibe (in the best ways) with nice outdoor seating available. Customer service is great, they make you feel welcomed. Their wine selection, cocktails, and food are great. We always end up spending way more than expected because it's all good. Our go to cocktails are the Long Beach Fizz, Proseco pop, and Sangria. I recommend the shishito peppers, district Margherita flat brea, and the crostini.

Teira R.

Yelp
This is THE perfect date night spot! The ambiance is so beautiful, with all of the natural lighting and a cozy atmosphere. The wine is superb, especially the flights if you want to try out different blends. I'm a white wine girlie, but enjoyed the semi-sweet red wine in my flight. The food is exquisitely prepared and picturesque. I absolutely loved the charcuterie set up and was surprised by the Shishito Peppers with lemon squeezed on top. Don't forget to end the night with dessert. Staff is so friendly and welcoming and I cannot wait to visit again. Thank you!

Harris S.

Yelp
Cute little wine bar in downtown Long Beach. We made reservations and a table was set aside for us, which was a plus! We tried several wines that were not very good. We asked for some suggestions, and the waitress recommended some pretty good wine tastings. We did not eat any food, as the menu was very limited. Parking is difficult.... Due to being on the street and metered.

Kristine H.

Yelp
Had an exquisite wine tasting experience! The variety of wines offered was impressive, each with unique flavors. The charcuterie board and the flatbread had a perfect balance of flavors and textures to pair with the wine. The cozy setting, soft lighting, and rustic decor created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our server was attentive.

Adrian F.

Yelp
This is a very cool wine bar that we discovered thanks to Yelp several years ago. We work in Long Beach, but at the time we lived in the San Gabriel Valley. As such, this was a great place to have a quick appetiizer and glass of wine before commuting home. Our first visit was so amazing that we joined their wine club. Service is impeccable. Mabel is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable on wines. Even though we don't come often, she always remembers us! Menu must haves = pea tapenade and Margherita flatbread. Best of all, the wine club gets you "every day drinkers" at a great price AND you cannot find them easily. They also have live music and other events which we have not enjoyed yet. Parking can be difficult but we have never had an issue.

Yelp
I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience at District Wine through this review. This place is a true gem, offering a delightful ambiance that is both warm and charming. District Wine excels in providing an outstanding selection of wines, a beautiful space, delectable food, and impeccable service. Recently, I organized a semi-private event for my partner's birthday with 45 of our friends, and the entire planning process was remarkably easy. Angela, the owner, proved to be exceptionally friendly, responsive, and patiently answered all my queries throughout the planning phase. District Wine even allowed me to customize the menu for our event and went the extra mile by providing printed custom menus. We chose three wines, three beers, a cider, and the red sangria, which was an absolute must-try and became a favorite among our guests. Our food selection included a charcuterie and cheese platter, skewers, flatbreads, and more. Mabel, our main server, played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the evening. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and worked diligently to ensure the entire event ran smoothly. Mabel consistently checked on everyone, ensuring that our guests always had a drink in hand. We were particularly impressed with the generously sized wine glasses and the exceptionally generous pours. The wines were delightful, and Mabel's service went above and beyond our expectations. Whether for a casual drop-in, a private event, or drinks on the patio, I wholeheartedly recommend District Wine. It offers an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind experience that truly stands unrivaled in Long Beach.

Yelp
This is a wine bar with a small plate selection as well as a wide variety of seats that aren't uniform design. Our party of three decided on a flight of 4 wines (which you can either customize or pick from one of the set options). As we are not wine connoisseurs, we had immense help from the waitress. Note that this place doesn't have as much sweet red wine but there's sweet white wine to choose from. We enjoyed the sparkling white wine so much that we got a bottle to go. Note that you get a discount if you decide to take a bottle of wine home. As for the small plates, we got brisket sliders, curry mac n cheese, and Italian meat flatbread. Small plates is really just a synonym for appetizers since they cost as much as a normal meal ($14-$17), but you get less food. The brisket sliders are only two sliders and the Italian meat flatbread looked like 4 very small slices of pizza. The food itself was above average, but with no bang for your buck. The overall check for 3 of us was $101.75 (includes tax and tip).

Yelp
This place has a great feel. It's so relaxing and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I sat outside and made our way through a few of their small bite on their appetizer menu. Our waitress explained everything we ordered and gave several recommendations. The outdoor seating was nice, they had a couple little couches facing the walk so we could people watch with our pup who they welcomed as well. I don't know why it took us so long to try this place out, we only live across the way, but im so glad we did. Definitely a place to go to relax and enjoy a glass of wine and fun atmosphere

Marian G.

Yelp
This is a trendy crowd that is alive and full of fun. I adore the vibe here. This restaurant is small but the selection of wine is large. The food is a great complement to the wine served here. The decor is inviting and comfortable. This is a great place for group as well as a date. The happy hour menu is inviting. The hostess was great at attending to each of the guests. I came here for a Sip and Script calligraphy class. It was amazing! Theresa was great with her instructions for this class. You have the option of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. There is street meter parking. Free parking on Sundays. I recommend you make a visit when you're in the downtown Long Beach area. You will not be disappointed. Reservation are acceptable and credit card as well as QR code payments are accepted here.

Lynnette M.

Yelp
Very nice evening spent here. Ambiance chill, service wonderful. A great date night or quiet convo destination. We enjoyed an assortment of their menu items: the BBQ Brisket Sliders, Sweet Blues Flatbread, Butternut Squash Soup, and Smoked Shrimp Ceviche. All excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Louis LaPierre Reserve Brut - two glasses. Dessert was also quite nice: Apple Crisp à la mode, and Ginger Creme Brûlée. As mentioned, but certainly worth mentioning again, service was wonderful. Another bonus: did a check-in on Yelp and got a discount. Nice. Would definitely like to go back and try some of their other offerings ... with another glass (or two) of that Brut.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
The food was meh. Wine/cocktails meh. Service was meh as well. I wouldn't go here again.

Naomi M.

Yelp
Love this place to meet up with friends. Celebrated my 40th bday there and loved the food and company!

Mia F.

Yelp
Lovely staff, great live music, tasty bites and of course great wine selection. Moody and cozy inside and a great open outdoor seating area with heat lamps. Solid place to have a glass or bottle of a Red, White or Rose. No natural wines which is ok because there are plenty of other places for that.

Jan P.

Yelp
Lovely place Great wine Good food What more do you need? We celebrated our birthday & enjoyed

Terrie-Trinh N.

Yelp
Great wine selection. Lovely variety of appetizers! The live music was wonderful, a bit loud but well done! Will definitely go back!

Leland S.

Yelp
I had a coupon for this place and figured to use it. Here's how my experience went. AMBIANCE: Parking: Off of Linden and Broadway so it's all street parking, which can get pretty competitive. Seating: Inside or outside parking. Generally good for small groups from 4-6. Feels: The area is a general popping place with other restaurants and boutiques. They do have their art walk events as well which is pretty pleasant. The spot itself has an underground bar vibe. As it's a bit dimmed and the bricks design give it a vintage feel. A pretty fancy vibe but not too fancy and I appreciated the Cuban Latin Salsa music playing. FOOD: Curry Mac and Cheese (Recommend) Clever concept. Mac and cheese with a very subtle gooey cheesy feel. What makes it a bit different from your usual mac and cheese experience is the kick from the green onions and curry. Seasonal Sangria (Recommend) Great! I enjoyed the sweetness as I got buzzed. Wine was sweet and fruits were fresh. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Mabel was awesome. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Solid spot! Great selections, delicious food, and pleasant vibes. Whether you're looking for a solo wine down or connect with your friend, this is a great place! Tips: * Check out their daily specials

Yelp
Friday night and the feeling is right to grab a couple of glasses a wine, a bottle, or even a flight of tastings at District Wine. Open until 10pm on Friday night and featuring really great live music, I spent a beautiful evening with a good friend. If you are going to have any serious conversations, Friday night with live music may not be the place for you, but all was forgiven as the singer this night had a beautiful voice. It's been a while since I frequented (before Covid) and I'm so happy to return. I've always remembers that the pea tapenade is the bees knees and music is generally having vinyl origins. Love that! Parking can be a challenge, walk if you can or carpool. It is metered. Come with any size group. Recommend reservations. Great and romantic date night spot. Outdoor and parklet seating. Will be back... and making this place on my list of regular visits!

Chelsea V.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing. The staff is wonderful. The house champagne is great. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, and the happy hour menu is the best. I will definitely be making another visit when I'm back in Long Beach!

Lexi S.

Yelp
I actually love this place! I used to work in a winery that was okay, I wish it had this type of atmosphere and this well kept up. The prices are a little high here however, I believe everything is almost well worth it. I give it a solid 8/10 Service could be better, she seemed a bit fake but personally was curious about the place & the wine! You can just drink away a bad attitude

LL Z.

Yelp
I hadn't been for two years. Wednesday happy hour was great! Fantastic Pinot Gris and 25% off for wine Wednesday. We had the crostini with Gorgonzola and honey... omg! So delicious!! Got to put this spot on my regular list! So good. Oh the service was spectacular.

Shannel G.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this little place. We have made reservations through Yelp both times and their sign with my name on it never fails to put a smile on my face. Such a nice touch. All of the staff have been very friendly and offer great suggestions! My friends and I have done the wine flights each time. I haven't come across one I didn't like. The ambiance is darling, with dark walls, gold trim, and cool light fixtures! It's more like sitting in a close friend's living room than a bar. Although it was a busy Saturday night, we were able to feel tucked away in our little section. Usually when we go we will split a flatbread and a couple small plates. It's a wonderful place for great conversation and catching up! I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Debra W.

Yelp
Cool vibe! Love the service, delicious small bites and live music; specifically, Kevin Wood and Petty Chavez. The service is always excellent. Mabel gets me! She always knows and recommends new wines that I could discover and enjoy. The small bites are all delicious, but our favorites are the Curry Mac N' Cheese (add mushrooms), Blue Cheese Wedge (chopped with a side of beef brisket), Cheese Plate and the Pea Tapenade. Whatever you pick, you won't regret. Keep up the amazing work Angela & team. Thanks and see you tonight!

Ashmi D.

Yelp
My husband and I had our combined 40th birthday celebration here and it was incredible! The venue is so cute and stylish, all our guests were so impressed. We pre-ordered all the tapas and everything was so yummy. The staff including owner Amanda and staff Mabel were so nice and accommodating. It was really such a great experience. We love the cocktails, especially the long beach fizz and sangria and the ned Sauvignon is our fave. We will be back again to enjoy a little date night soon!

Lisa A.

Yelp
I had a lovely Mother's Day celebration here last weekend. The beverage selection was excellent as was the food with options for everyone. The multiple seating areas are great for small, intimate dates or larger family gatherings. The service was also excellent. If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular!

Rena T.

Yelp
I love District Wine. They are so knowledgeable about their wines and the happy hour is fantastic. Very classy. I came here because it is close by....and it did not disappoint. I hear it's woman owned. Also, they have a paint and sip event once a month. I love it. I will be back for that and the great food, wine, and ambience.

Bel-Ayre H.

Yelp
One of my favorite local wine bars to frequent always good service, food and of course wine :)

Richard W.

Yelp
Always 5 stars for district wine. I've been coming to this wine establishment for the past few years. Service always pleasant helpful with suggestions and with a smile and upbeat staff. Ambiance is a similar vibe to a classic Las Vegas smoking room. Comfortable chairs and private dining area for smaller parties if you want a more intimate gathering for a private group also outside tables. They have a vast wine selection from Spain and Australian wines. I was a little bit disappointed this time around because I'm a big fan of Argentinean wines but they only had a selection of 2 wines from the mendoza region which is my favorite which they have carried in the past... perhaps just a seasonal wine supply thing. Otherwise great place to come relax for a couple hours and have a couple glasses of wine and a few small bites. Highly recommended.

Donna R.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this place!!!!! The Ambiance, friendly staff, Decor, Atmosphere and delish food!! Our first time going and it definitely wont be our last!!!! First I would like to give a SHOUT-OUT to our AWESOME SERVER Ms. Yolanda, she's Personable, Friendly & Attentive and made our date night so Fun cause she was easy to talk with, definitely a peoples person and you can tell THE ENTIRE STAFF enjoys working here because everyone is smiling and giving off a POSITIVE VIBE!!! The owner- Ms. Angela is friendly and personable and welcomed us with a smile!! Music: Mr. Bill & Tim playing guitars/ singing, WOW!!!!!! They call themselves OLD FRIENDS/Guitars & Vocals - FIVE++++++++++ stars on singing & guitar, diverse playlist, next time they play we'll definitely go see them play again & again!!!!!!

Kelly S.

Yelp
Fun wine bar in east arts district. Decent selection, although most Cali wine spots are way too basic IMO. We need to break away from the stale standard of merlot, cabs, zins, pinot noir, chard, pinot gris, sauv blanc, and if we're really adventurous a reisling or gewurztraminer. So many other varietals out ther to explore. I personally don't think much of Long Beach's wine scene in the DT area. To get anything near decent, you pretty much gotta hit retro row. Anyway, those elements considered, it's a fun spot with outdoor and indoor seating, chill vibe and delicious finger foods. Service was good. Our server was able to kindly navigate an insistent flirt across from us. She was good spirited and even handled it well when it went too far. Will return for a chill sip sesh in the open air.

Alan N.

Yelp
Delicious wine. Great outdoor space. Happy hour is a good deal. Nice neighborhood place to grab a glass of wine!

Cassie S.

Yelp
I come here now and again bc I live close. Always friendly and great vibes. One star ding bc of last night...I've ordered the curry Mac n cheese a few times now, but was so disappointed last night. This was the 2nd attempt they made after we sent the first back. Dry noodles on top and a watery soupy (no cheese in sight) curry broth underneath. Usually a rich cheesy curry roux...but this was...Yikes. Please teach the new guy how to make it. They did take 50% off this dish for us, (tbh we should've not eaten it but my friend was hungry!) but I hesitate to order it again. Otherwise, go for the wine, the ambiance, and friendly service.

Shirley H.

Yelp
Such a lovely, romantic wine bar in downtown Long Beach. The inside has dim lighting and plenty of seating for groups or couples. I absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere -- perfect for sipping on wine and long conversations. The Cabernet was fantastic. It tasted rich, earthy, and delicious. We also tried the Italian flatbread, curry Mac n cheese, and prosciutto bon bons. Food was decent for small bites. Will definitely come back for their great selection of wine and drinks.

Marybeth W.

Yelp
Our favorite place to go in the neighborhood! The food, wine and atmosphere are great but the STAFF is why we make it our stop for date night and other special occasions :) EVERYONE is amazing and so friendly, warm and inviting.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Wine bars are my kind of vibe! We got their: Wine Flight Charcuterie Board Smoked Shrimp Ceviche Sweet Blues Flatbread - dates, blue cheese, mozzarella, bacon, pecans, honey I loved their selection of wine and the staff was super friendly in helping you pick the right ones! My favorite food pairing was their Sweet Blue flatbread which was a sweet/savory mix of flavors! The ceviche was sweeter than I expected and I prefer more savory/salty ceviches. Their charcuterie board had a good selection of meats and cheeses too!

Jodi F.

Yelp
District Wine offers a delightful experience with great wine selections, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food quality and taste have noticeably declined, which is disappointing considering the overall positive aspects of the establishment.

Shirley W.

Yelp
The downtown Long Beach area this place is located in, is called "Thai District". There is nothing Thai about this place. Parking is free after 6pm-- plenty of street metered parking that's free up for grab. The place is very cute, with outdoor patio and indoor sitting. The dessert is def the highlight of the meal. The cinnamon sugar covered tortilla, just goes with the vanilla ice cream and the berries!

S. M.

Yelp
Fantastic ambiance, it's got a bit of a speakeasy-vibe. Delicious wines, good food, and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be back!

Jay S.

Yelp
This is one my secret spots. If you are looking for a hangout or dating spot for grownups with cool vibe, this is the place. Their price is very budget friendly and food is great! While everything has became more expensive out there, District Wine is still offering a space for us to hangout without worrying about the bill so much! If you are in Long Beach area, and looking for drinking wine with small bites, this is THE place. The service is great too! They have very friendly staff. You can tell that they genuinely serve you well.

Raquel M.

Yelp
I love this wine bar! And I love that they have a good selection of appetizers. Their flatbread is really good. Always a great time, always great service. The have Happy Hour, too.. and the house selection is perfect. A definite go to option when you want a nice, chill time.

Lisa G.

Yelp
This is a great wine bar !! They consistently deliver on their charcuterie (cheese plates , citrus marinated olives and roasted bar nuts are wonderful!) - wine selection is awesome !!!

Christina M.

Yelp
Several years ago, I stumbled upon this gem. I had a white wine with a frozen fruit popsicle inside and I fell in love. This drink was so delicious and unique. So, years later I returned during winter time only to find out that this drink is only made during the summer. However, this place still did not disappoint. The waitress created an amazing wine flight based off of the information we gave her about our likes and dislikes. Fast forward a few more years and I ended up here again during the summer to get my wine popsicle. It was just as good as I remembered, but the popsicle has definitely been scaled up to another level. This place is amazing!

Yassi G.

Yelp
Had a great solo experience here, can't wait to return with friends. Located in the heart of east village, you get the city vibes from the big beautiful windows but not so busy to where it's overwhelming. This place is a hidden gem. The interior has a cool rustic vibe, you feel like you're somewhere in Solvang. I ordered the wine flight and the mushroom lettuce cups. The portions were really good and everything tasted great. My service was also great, I was served by Laura. Can't wait to come back here and try more wine. They also offer happy hour and specials. Apparently they also host paint and sip nights- pretty cool.

Angie M.

Yelp
I desperately needed a respite and this place delivered. I got a wine flight with a charcuterie board and it healed my soul. My waitress was a tinker bell bringing magic to every interaction. Ten stars.
