Divani Palace Acropolis

"Dine on the rooftop garden restaurant to look out over the Acropolis. From this stunning vantage, consider your central location on a quiet residential street, close to the Acropolis museum, metro, and Plaka and Monasteraki shopping. Rooms, some with hardwood floors, don't disappoint, but special praise is reserved for amazing and friendly staff."

Divani Palace Acropolis | Best places to stay in Athens

"If you want to be at the heart of the action, the Divani Palace is an excellent choice; the hotel is located within a stone’s throw of the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum and the Grand Promenade, as well as being surrounded by the buzzy streets of Koukaki.  And not just that: you are spoiled with 5-star luxury, an outdoor pool and a roof terrace with unrivalled close-up views of the Acropolis rock; so close in fact, that the ancient city walls built 25 centuries ago run through the basement.  Make sure to book dinner at the rooftop restaurant; try the chicken kontosouvli (a kind of kebab on the spit) – a speciality from Thessaloniki.  " - John Malathronas

We stayed here as part of a small group, both at the beginning and end of our tour. The hotel is extensively used by groups and generally well geared up for this. The luggage storage operation was particularly efficient. On the minus side, groups all wanting to eat at the same time can mean a crush at breakfast and the staff, hardworking as they are, struggle to keep all items resupplied. That said, there's a very good choice at breakfast and most of it is very good quality. The rooms were fine, pretty much as you'd expect - but I have to mention the best hotel slippers I've come across. The rooftop bar was a lovely spot for a nightcap, with Acropolis views, but pricey. The location is great for visiting the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, but a bit further from the centre than we've stayed when visiting Athens independently. Not really a problem when we stayed in October but would be a hot trudge in the summer months.

A wonderful hotel with great staff. The concierge staff were all helpful and very friendly. Had an issue with noisy neighbours and it was sorted out . The next day we were upgraded because of the inconvenience. Breakfast was great. Plenty to choose from and very fresh. Rooftop bar gd a great view of the Acropolis. A big Thankyou to all the doormen at the front door. They were always attentive and a great help. Thankyou very much to Konstantinos and Alexandros for helping us out with a rogue taxi driver. Also to Velisarios for his great advice on local restaurants.

An excellent hotel. The staff were very attentive and super polite. The rooms are very comfortable and we were upgraded. We also had a view of the Acropolis/Parthenon. The gym is well equipped but small, which was good for us as very few people were using the facilities. The swimming pool was an added bonus. We had dinner on the roof with exceptional of the Parthenon. The food was good but quite expensive - the view is why we dined there. Finally, the location of the hotel was ideal for us. It was very close to the metro and the attractions we wanted to visit.

When I first entered the hotel, it instantly reminded me of the 70’s era – a touch of nostalgia with its huge lobby, grand high ceilings, and impressive staircase. The stay itself was perfect: the staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My room was excellent value for money – clean, comfortable, and with great service throughout. The hotel’s central location was convenient, and since we had a car, it was a big plus that we could park for free around the hotel. Breakfast was included and was decent, a good start to the day. Overall, we have really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Lovely hotel, very helpful staff, scrupulously clean. Room (superior) was quite modern with two USB-A ports by each side of the bed. Marble bathroom, high end bath products. Terrific view of the Acropolis from our balcony. ||Staff was helpful throughout, from late checkout to most importantly kindly helping my dear wife with a wheelchair when she took a tumble (no fault of the hotel). ||We were very tired on our first night so ate at the “D Bar” - the moussaka was excellent as were drinks and service. ||The next night we enjoyed Manhattans at the “Acropolis Secret” bar - stunning view, great service, delicious cocktails. ||We are frequent travelers to Greece and will return on our next stay in Athens.

This hotel is a well oiled machine. We stayed for three nights. Our room was extremely comfortable with a balcony and a view of the Acropolis. We got lucky! The pool is lovely, the location relatively quiet despite being on the doorstep of the Acropolis and a nice antidote to the endless hustle and chaos of Plaka. The staff were excellent and no request was too much trouble. The hotel caters to large group bookings- there were endless arrivals of bus loads of tourists wearing lanyards around their necks; from this perspective it meant the staff on the front desk were always extremely busy. The only problem here was the wait time if you had a simple question as there were often lines of people waiting to check in. They would be better to relocate the gift shop to the lobby and to position it as gifts and tourist information to take the pressure off the check in staff and the guests needing to ask questions but giving up due to long wait times. The breakfast is solid - nothing extraordinary but serviceable with a good range of options for all. Thank for a pleasant stay.

We chose this 5-star hotel mainly because, at the time of booking, it stated that parking was included. Upon arrival, we were told that no parking was available and that we had to find a spot on the nearby streets. Later, we found out there was actually a private parking lot 1.6 km away, at an extra charge, but they hadn’t even mentioned it when we first asked. The attitude of the valets was far from what you would expect at a 5-star hotel: I literally had to run after two of them just to get an answer regarding parking and they did not provide proper assistance with the luggage. The promotional photos are misleading: they give the impression of a rooftop pool with a view of the Acropolis, but in reality, the pool is on the ground floor, surrounded by buildings, where the sun never reaches. Breakfast is very limited in options and the same every single morning. The rooftop restaurant also offers very few options to choose from. The bathroom has no ventilation system or window. The walls are very thin, and you can hear other guests talking — not to mention children crying. I’ve also never stayed in a hotel that provided only one pillow, which made it quite uncomfortable. Overall, the hotel is outdated and did not provide the 5-star services we were expecting, yet they certainly charge you like a 5-star hotel.

Fabulous, the rooftop bar has a great vibe and even better views … bring your own blow dryer if you need lots of power . Rooms a very spacious, we had a lovely balcony but unfortunately it was loaded with water ( from an unknown source as it hadn’t rained) each day and the room attendant had to come mop it up , which she did with a smile on her face . Also we had reserved a king bed and we got 2 twin beds pushed together and each with separate sheets and blankets … which was a little odd 🤷🏽‍♀️… other than that … everything was perfect . Very nice breakfast buffet every morning . Definitely try the roof top restaurant.
