I can't believe there were so many bad things happening I had to leave a review. I will NOT be returning. First, food prices are surprisingly high. I ordered an appetizer and a beer, which both were $1 off for happy hour (4-7 I think). I placed this order around 6pm, and stayed till 7:50. When I asked for the check I saw the happy hour deal wasn't applied, and the person behind the bar said that I had to close the tab before 7. This shocked not only me but everyone at the table. Not only was I overcharged, but the food was incorrect too. My bread with meatballs and bacon had blue cheese randomly on it, and one of the people I was with got very burned bread to go with their artichoke dip, which said it came with Pita instead. I didn't say anything at the time because I wanted to support them since it was not busy at all, knowing I got overcharged for it I would not have suffered through eating that.

As I walked in, my thoughts were this is truly a dive bar. The food, oh my gosh!!!! The food was delicious and not typical bar food. Just so good. The service, I expected unfriendly gruff service ( it's a dive bar) but everyone was so friendly. Our waitress told us about all the weekly specials, Prime rib Wednesday, brunch and bingo, Sunday. I will be back. Oh and the special smores old fashioned was perfect.

Pictured is the $12.50 whiskey sour that my wife ordered tonight. This drink is nothing like what she has had before nor does it match the menu description, also pictured. When we asked our waitress, the bartender said there were no eggs available for the egg whites. It tasted like a cheap drink from a sour mix with plain whiskey, not a hand crafted cocktail. I doubt it was Yellowstone whiskey either. We have been here several times with friends for happy hour or music, and once for whiskey club and never had an issue until Mother's Day brunch this year. No coffee, late drinks or no refills. We ordered a pitcher of cocktails and it was undrinkable. My wife talked to the bartender, same as our guy tonight, and he basically blew her off. Our waitress comped it, but the service really is an issue here. It annoyed my wife enough that we have not been back since until tonight, even though we love the music and have gift certificates. A party of 8 tonight received our meals over the span of 20+ minutes in three different shifts. One of our people saw the last three plates (Wednesday's steak night) sitting for several minutes and got up herself to get our food. The waitress didn't even apologize.

A swing and a miss on Mother's Day. Getting a table, even with a reservation, was a disaster. One person was trying to seat customers, bus tables, coordinate food, and direct wait staff. Even with a reservation, and we showed up early, took 30 minutes to get a table. Once seated, took 5 minutes to get our drinks ordered. (2 of 3 drinks were brought to us 15 minutes later. Water was missing and we had to go to the bar to get our own water) The food at the buffet was just one step above a hotel breakfast. Everything was cold and starting to dry up. The only food not bland was the brisket, yet it was also barely warm. All others had little flavor. It's a shame. We've been to Dive Bar before and have had good food. We will NOT be going back for any brunch offerings in the future.

Good place to have lunch or brunch at Columbia. This place is a bit run down looking which complements its name. Inside decor is good, ambience of the place is also nice. Brunch menu is short which makes it easier to select food. Food quality and quantity is also nice. We orderd breakfast sandwich and loaded burrito. Both were tasted very good. Service of the restaurant is also very good. Will definitely visit again.

Went there last Friday Sept 5th. SLOW service. Didn't have the liquor I wanted. Ordered the spinach dip. It came with maybe 12 very small pieces of pita bread, a couple of carrots and celery. Asked if we could get a few more pita chips and was told we'd have to pay for them. Very disappointed.

Loved at atmosphere and a GREAT salad! Pickles beets and blue cheese overload was delightful! 😋 The Berkshire was dry from my guy friend. Nice presentation and he loved the potatoes chips. Delightful chocolate chip cookies! 😋

Google
Nearly perfect Valentine dinner date with my wife. The food was extremely tasty with good portions. Beginning with a nice mixed green salad followed by grilled mussels. The singer Guitarist had perfect song selection for evening dinner - not too loud but lyrics clearly understood. Bobbie and other waitress had the exact balance of attending to use without becoming "in our face" in other words they did not try too hard. The main course - Beef Wellington with saluted asparagus and thin sliced rosemary potatoes was as good as any fine eatery in the state! My wife's parm crusted sea bass was nearly perfect as was her rice pilaf and vegetables. The 10 layer chocolate cake pictured was absolutely amazing. We WILL return the Dive Bar.

Yelp
While visiting CoMo we were looking for a spot for dinner and something to do on a Thursday night. I was excited when my friend shared that Dive bar did free Bingo on Thursday nights. I honestly hadn't played bingo since grade school but was instantly onboard! We started the night outside on their spacious patio and made sure to move inside at least 10 minutes before bingo started at 7pm. By the time the games started there wasn't an empty spot in the house. There were multiple rounds over two hours and each game provided a chance to win prizes. The food was great we each got a sandwich and swapped halves. We got the 5th ward and a spicy pulled chicken sandwich both were delicious. We upgraded our side to the dive salad which was phenomenal and I would go back just for that salad! The service was also phenomenal there was one waitress for a packed house and she made it seem like we were the only tables she had. She made her job look easy for a packed restaurant. I can't wait for my next visit to CoMo so I can go back to Dive bar!

Yelp
Deeply disappointing and concerning dining experience! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to this restaurant was so troubling that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I walked in, the service was indifferent at best. It took nearly twenty minutes just to get someone's attention, and when a server finally approached, they seemed annoyed that I had questions about the menu. Throughout the meal, dishes were dropped off without a word, drinks went unrefilled, and no one checked in to see if anything was okay. Unfortunately, the food itself was even worse. My entrée arrived lukewarm and clearly undercooked in the center, despite being a dish that should have been served piping hot. Another plate at the table was missing key ingredients entirely, as if it had been rushed out without any care. The flavors were flat, the textures were off, and nothing tasted fresh. The real issue, though, came later. Within a few hours of eating there, I became noticeably sick--nausea, stomach cramps, the whole ordeal. I can't say with certainty what caused it, but given the state of the food, it wasn't surprising. What truly alarmed me were the visible health hazards. I noticed a sticky spill on the floor that no one bothered to clean up, even as staff stepped around it repeatedly. I unfortunately had to use the restroom while we were there. The restroom sink had grime built up around the faucet, a dead cockroach near the commode, and there was no soap or toilet paper. As we were leaving, I could see uncovered food containers sitting out behind the bar. These are the kinds of things that make you question what's happening behind the scenes. Overall, this was one of the most unsettling dining experiences I've had in a long time. Between the poor service, improperly prepared food, and concerning cleanliness issues. Now here's the kicker...there was not a manager available (shocker), so I asked for the owner's contact information so I could report the health violations and food safety issues. The waitress laughed and said "We've told him many times - he doesn't care and he doesn't allow us to give out his number. He wouldn't answer the phone and absolutely would not call you back." So, if you'd like to eat at an establishment where the owner clearly doesn't care about you or what you think, cleanliness, or food safety, you've found the perfect place.

Yelp
First I want to say the waitress was amazing! Waited over an hour for food, if not longer. When it came out there was 15 minute gap between each meal so we all ate separately! Food is ok Beautiful patio. Will NOT be back. Also they were out of the first two things we ordered. No toilet paper in bathroom! No soap Wow 144.00 I'm still hungry!

Yelp
Wednesday night steak night, and there's no steak! At 6 pm they said they were out of steak. Very poor planning. I am not impressed, don't think I'll be back .

Yelp
I'm from Kansas City area and the only reason I came here was couple that played in Lawrence and found out they were here, this place was easy to get here, nice patio for live music, I had to good servers Alan which I had Saturday nite, they have brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings. My server Courtney was on Sunday, I'm on my way to st.Louis and decided to stop in Columbia because it's long drive by yourself, my food was very good, you can see pix of it, I had lobster chipotle mac, they have live bands playing here, like Cowboy Bart's magical band, he has played here lots of time and I got to meet him, building is hard to get to but if you know how it's easy, you have to turn before the building because the road has barriers, I would recommend to check this place out on weekends

Yelp
The shrimp pasta was wonderful. The bartender made a fabulous Kentucky Mule! The ambiance was fun and relaxing.

Yelp
Excellent food, and kind wait staff, but the kitchen tends to get backed up easily in moderate crowds. We waited 30 minutes for appetizers. Entrees were delayed an hour. Less than half their tables were filled. Good music on a pleasant patio.

Yelp
Worst day ever. Our normal group came in to have brunch. Service-horrible. Service is usually hit or miss. Today was a miss. 15 minutes for beverage service orders. Another 30 for food. Had to send up smoke signals for refills. Food-We were the only table...until about 1/2 through our time there. The manager? came by to clarify our order as there was a couple special requests. The other table was served before all of our table was served. I ordered a "plate size" Cinnamon roll and received a less than 4" round/oval cold roll. It arrived 10 minutes after everyone on our table was served. We had a party of six. It stated homemade and it was Rich's commercial cinnamon roll. Paid over $5.00 for this plus 2 eggs over $5. And 2 cups of coffee, another $5. They don't have a custom tip and the lowest was 20%. We have a group that usually comes for Bingo on Thursday. A group of 6-10 people. We joined the club that after $100 worth of purchases you receive a $20 credit. What they don't tell you is the purchases expire every 30 days. After food and drinks that could be possible to obtain. One of our party was told she had until Saturday to use hers. Which is why we came here for Brunch. They expired Friday. As much as we enjoy Bingo Thursday nights we will not be returning.

Yelp
Food, ambience, and service are always top notch! I go there occasionally for the music or bingo night, and the food never disappoints. Looking forward to cooler weather so that I can try the outdoor space.

Yelp
Wow. Not much to look at outside, but when you walk through the door - bam! It smells so good...surprisingly so. Everyone was very friendly and patient with our menu questions. We had the vegetable quiche and a full order of naked wings. Both were very very good. 5 stars. The wings had a mild sweet, cumin? sauce on it that was delicious. We will be back!

Yelp
I rarely walk out on a meal and I try to give some grace when a restaurant is slammed like Dive Bar was on Father's Day. Our food never arrived and we were sitting at least an hour after we ordered still waiting and starving. Yes, it was busy, but we were there so long that people were leaving who were already done. We finally left and at least were comped our drinks, but no other explanation for why a simple brunch order for 3 people took that long. We weren't even given an ETA on how much more time it would be. This was my first visit and will be my last. The table next to us had been waiting an hour and a half, so it wasn't just us. I was sad to not to get to try the food since their catering is so good. From some of the other reviews, it sounds like they can't keep up with big crowds.

B H.

Yelp
The food and drinks were great but service needs to be worked on for when it gets a little busy. We came for brunch and came a little after the opened. Our table could've easily been turned after an hour with what we got but we were there over 2 hours. We each ordered 2 drinks and one entree. It wasnt busy but you were able to watch as it picked up, the service crumbled. I had to ask to pay because our server never returned. And she never came back to check us out... never been so tempted to just leave. I wish i was lying because we wait an hour to pay... and it was only because the bartender asked another server to pay is out. $70 total.. again, food was great but that service was not.

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim. Small inside but great atmosphere, food and large drink selection. Would definitely come back

Yelp
This place is awesome...Not only is the atmosphere perfect, the staff make you feel like they really LOVE working there. I am from out of town and they made me feel like a local. I had a few beers and possibly the best sandwich/salad combo ever in my life. First I enjoyed the "Dive Salad". This was sooo good! Set me up perfect for the "5th Ward" Sandwich. The salad and sandwich are both awesome. This place deserves national recognition. Should have an option for Six stars!

Kellie S.

Yelp
13.00 for a margarita in a skinny ass glass packed with ice is RIDICULOUS!! Had bigger and better for half the price. Won't be back

Tonya G.

Yelp
The very best food and service at the lake. You won't be disappointed. You've got to meet Erin and Deb.

Yelp
Man, this little surprise of a bar/grill provides fantastic options for sandwiches. I had a Lower Ashland which was a south chicken cheese philly. Wonderful bread and toppings and the chicken was incredible. Friends tried other sandwiches like the rueben and the fifth ward. Everyone was impressed. Will be coming back here soon. Oh, the buffalo Mac n cheese was pretty tasty as well. Try it! Good online menu from the bar itself with photos.

Yelp
The chipotle lobster macaroni was probably the best thing I've ever had from a restaurant that is firstly a bar. It was generous and decadent and really not expensive at all. I've also had their pulled pork sandwich and a few different sides, and I wish I'd started eating here sooner because everything is good!

Karen G.

Yelp
Waiting for our food. After 2 hours our waiter said it would be another hour and a half... we left because we were starving.

Yelp
What a Joke! Took over and hour to get our food. Server only came to our table once. The FOOD WAS STILL WORNG. Do not come here.the also gave us the wrong order. Do not give these people you money.

Yelp
Such a fun little place. The food is amazing and there's plenty of variety to choose from. Cool drinks. And a beautiful patio, with sand pit, perfect for summer and hanging out.

Robyn K.

Yelp
Wonderful food and the most amazing staff. Their customer service rocks! THE 5 star dive bar! Enjoyed smoked wings with buffalo sauce and their hottest sauce which is pretty fiery. Also hotdogs like none other and other sandwiches were delicious too. Buffalo mac & cheese - what else do I need to say --besides YUMMY!

Jon F.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the name of this place, or the location. It looks very nondescript from the outside but inside is some really terrific food. It's world's away from typical bar food: our lunch included lobster roll, street tacos, potato salad (unique and one of the best we've ever had) and house Mac and cheese. They have a short wine list and specialty cocktails that we'll try next time. The menu online is current and representative of the unique spin that they have on seemingly all the items. The Dive Bar came highly recommended and we were impressed. Our server (Bobbie?) was terrific and helped us narrow down the many appealing choices.

Dennis B.

Yelp
This is a very cool bar. It's not much to look at on the outside but once you get inside and see their bourbon menu you'll be impressed. We had a few drinks a couple of weeks ago and stuck around for their steak dinner. It was very good and the price was right.

Yelp
We are from out of state and stopped in on a Sunday night (Yelp showed it was closed). Great neighborhood bar, met the friendliest people. Bartender, Dani, was awesome and we had great conversation with her. Spoke with the owner, she showed us the new lunch menu they were rolling out the next day (menu looked great by the way).

Trey S.

Yelp
We are from out of town and went to Finger Lakes state park to ride dirt bikes and we looked online for a place to eat near I-70 on the way home. Dive Bar was the closest and had good reviews. It is exactly what the nome says with great "bar" food. We were worried that because we were not locals that we would not feel welcome there. Nothing could be further from the truth. There were several locals there but we were greeted as soon as we walked in by our waitress/ bartender with a smile and she was great even though we are Jayhawks. We joked back and forth and she recommended several things one of which was the Ruben sandwich that was the beat I have had in a long time at a bar or restaurant. Great bar food, huge selection of liquor and very friendly and helpful staff, we will stop there the next time we are in Columbia. Well done!
