The Best Lunches In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking to pair hours of baseball-watching with some seriously good bar food, head to Diversey House. This buzzy Logan Square spot from Steep Ravine and Moor’s Brewing has lunch every day except Monday. Plus, even though there are more than 20 TVs, it nails the balance of being both lively and laid-back. The food, like the fried chicken sandwich with watermelon, slip-off-the-bone ribs, and jerk chicken, might just steal your attention away from watching multimillionaires wait for a ball to come to them. And the guava draft pour will make you want to hang out long after you’ve paid." - adrian kane, john ringor, nick allen, veda kilaru

We’ve wanted to try this place for a while and finally decided to go to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted when we walked in and we sat ourselves and waited for a few minutes for someone to come over to us. - We picked this B.o.B. over other restaurants in the area and immediately regretted it. We initially left, but decided to stay. We should have stayed gone. - The server informed us that the current menu is different from the menu listed online and they were out of French fries but they could sub it for mashed potatoes or onion rings. Huge disappointment, just like a B.o.B. to operate while knowing that they’re out of certain items. The owner could have gone to restaurant depot to get ingredients while they waited for another shipment from the food truck. Also why doesn’t the website have the current menu? That’s so lazy and unprofessional. - My chopped cheese was very salty, tiny, and served with onion rings. Literally served on bread the size of a Hawaiian Sweet Roll for $20! $20??? Had I known my “sandwich” would be a 3in by 3in square I would have never ordered it. My date ordered the jerk chicken which I could tell immediately upon tasting it that they used the grocery store jerk chicken mild seasoning by Walkerswood. Gross and doesn’t taste like authentic jerk food. The rice was over cooked and mushy and the Mac and cheese was watery and flavorless. - I ordered a new cocktail and it was good, it tasted like juice because that’s mostly what it was. Didn’t do anything for me. $15 for a cocktail with only 1oz of liquor? The $5 shot didn’t do anything. Didn’t even feel a buzz. I don’t like that cocktails and shots are served in plastic cups that you can literally get at Binny’s for $3.99. - Our server was nice, very friendly, and attentive. Overall we will not return to this establishment as it’s a huge disappointment.

Diversey House in Chicago is an underrated gem that absolutely delivers on flavor and vibe. I ordered the ribs, and wow—these were next-level. Fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. I’m still thinking about them. Seriously, some of the best ribs I’ve had in the city, hands down. My wife got the fish and chips, and even though I’m not usually a fish guy, I kept sneaking bites. Super crispy batter, flaky fish, and great fries on the side. There’s no host stand when you walk in, so you kinda just find your way to a table or the bar, which adds to the laid-back feel. It was packed the night we went, with a live DJ spinning good music—not too loud, but enough to give it a lively, fun energy. The crowd was mixed, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. It’s definitely more bar than restaurant, but the food is not an afterthought here. If you’re craving ribs or want to chill with a drink and solid food in a lively atmosphere, this place nails it. Get the ribs. I mean it. Get. The. Ribs. You’ll thank me later.

I saw this place online and wanted to try it. It’s a bit confusing walking in, there’s no one at the podium to welcome or seat you, so I guess you just seat yourself at an open table. For the most part I enjoyed my experience here. When I walked in I immediately noticed all of the tvs, so if you are there for a game they are at every angle which is a plus! We had Andrew as our server in which he was very nice, however service was quite slow. At first we thought maybe they were understaffed but when other workers began to come in around 2 service remained slow and it was difficult finding him to pay even after my mother tried to flag him down multiple times and I even passed him on the way to the bathroom and he still didn’t mention he was on the way back to our table so I just ended up walking over to the bar asking another staff member to cash out and she did it for me. Suggestion: Add the option to pay on the receipt so customers can leave when they are ready if your staff is busy. Food: The server forgot to mention the things we could and could not order so when we started to order he advised us the arancini and the lobster rolls were out, and we couldn’t get the jerk chicken because it was still brunch hour. We ordered the wings and Mac and cheese instead for apps and the chicken sandwich and steak sandwich for the meal. I came there for the chicken sandwich but honestly I loved the wings and Mac and cheese much better! Those were both really good! The steak sandwich was cooked perfectly but needed a little salt and the fries had too much salt for my liking but also cooked well. Drinks: The bartender did her thang on the drinks we had, both were delicious! We regret not at least trying the beer though. lol I will be back to try it. Overall, I would have given this place a 5 if it wasn’t for the service and the availability of the items on the menu. The pricing was also very reasonable! I understand sometimes you can off days, so I still would return.

The music was too loud, and I am not old. I could hear my partner but it was too loud. We got there around 5:30 on a Friday, we didn’t have a reservation and we were able to sit easily. Although the staff seem either stressed from a manager or are still in the training process because we were almost always at 3 tables, and a few other instances that just made it seem like the staff were stressed. The food was unique, we got jambalaya arancini’s and they were pretty good. Lots of flavor. Definitely recommend. Then I got the Chopped Beef with fries. It was good, it tasted homemade in the best way. The fries come with it and they were also good. They also have a nice drink menu, and the staff are kind. This place is kid friendly, they have boosters, and because it is loud it is a great place for kids. I would go back.

This place is too cute! We went to watch the Pacers versus OKC game and we had so much fun. I enjoyed the Chopped Cheese and the Wake Up Call while swinging on a swing and staring at a floating HOLOGRAM on the wall. Now I want my own hologram. The service was excellent, my food was perfect, and the DJ!! The DJ was incredible. Oh I loved every second. Thank you so much 😊

I was pleasantly surprised by this new bar/restaurant that just opened in early 2025. Visiting this during the 4th of July weekend, attendance was sparse but I can tell that this place will become a fantastic spot to watch games and enjoy some really outstanding food. Started with the truffle fries, which I feel was very good, but the cheese could have been a bit more melted onto this side. The portion though was more than I would have expected. Their shrimp po-boy sandwich was also very good. The bread was crispy and chewy at the same time. However, i felt the bread too shrimp ratio was a little bit too much bread. But the chipotle ranch aioli was super flavorful and complimented the nicely grilled shrimps. Lastly, the best dish was their ribs which had a nice crunchy exterior but the meat was fall off the bone. However, the side of charred kale was really excellent. It was salted perfectly with a slight drizzle of a vinaigrette, and the crunchy kale gave it a nice textural balance to the soft rib meat and the gravy topped mashed potato. Definitely will need to visit during the NFL season. Go Bears!!!

This was my first time coming here since Ravinia Brewing closed down and it turned into this. It was nice to see a variety of beer options on tap and some good looking food as well. I went with the Mother Earth vegetarian dish and it was flavorful and satisfying. It was fun to sit on the swings while eating as well! Service was a little slow but it seemed like only one waitress was working the whole place. Parking is easy out front and they even have some dedicated spaces.

Diversey House is a cute, trendy bar & restaurant. My husband and I are in our are in our fifties, but we frequently try new things and go out in new places. We found that this is just a good typical Chicago restaurant, that doesn't stand out for us. But I do believe a younger crowd would enjoy this place. 1 appetizer, 2 main meals, two drinks ran $98. PROS - kind servers - good food - outdoor beer garden with lots of space - drinks were good - have flights of beer tastings - 8-10 screens with sports - automated bar trivia you can join and play against patrons and nation wide - parking spaces on side CONS - loud pop & rap music. Hard to hear conversations - several food choices were out of stock on a Wed night - good food but really really spicy - beer list doesn't distinguish between Cans and drafts/tap I would not go out of my way to come here again, but I would come here again if I was invited or happened to be in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Diversey House has the vibe--good music, solid beer, all that. But the food? Straight-up overpriced. I dropped $24 on a small, dry piece of catfish and three tiny shrimp with fries. For that price, I could've hit Harold's and got a fish & chicken combo with sauce for less. Until they fix this, I'm sticking to drinks.

Yelp
This is the rebirth of what used to be Ravinia Brewing, but they got in a legal battle for their name and had to change it to "Steep Ravine." But with reopening, they did it a whole step better and combined with black-owned Moors Brewing so you get two breweries under one roof, plus all new food options. The beautiful old wood bar is still in place as are some of the swing seats. But they've added a whole deck of TVs which feels like a great place to watch a game. Plus there's this creepy / can't stop watching it 3d display thing above the bar which was featuring everything from black icons to a Diversey House logo and dancing cartoon people. the pole dancing girl felt a little out of place sexist. Food popped. Chopped cheese was my favorite - chili cheese steak almost like a sloppy joe. Very tasty. Chicken sandwich had discernable watermelon and feta flavors which was an amazing combo. Mine was a little dry though. We were there only the third day after open, but we were brought the wrong beer twice after ordering (hazy instead of the midwest, and a kolsch instead of an IPA). Gonna chalk this up to servers or bartenders being brand new. DJ on a friday night was so loud at points we couldn't talk (and almost left because of it), which might be to expected at a club or late, but this was 7p and not great for hanging with friends. Still, will definitely be back to Diversey House. The service was friendly and food delicious and looking forward to more to come.

Yelp
I saw that a new spot had moved the former Ravina spot and since I'm literally up the block, I wanted to check it out. If you know me, I'm going to support anything black owned and now that Moor brewing is operating out of here, I knew I had to support. The service from jump was amazing. We came on Thursday evening and most of the tables were full. I was stuck between a couple of beer choices and our server brought me free samples of all the ones I was interested in. It appears they may even have an outdoor area that I'll have to check out when it gets warmer. All of the beer was outstanding. The food was pretty solid. A must get is the fries with oxtail! That joint went bonkers. They have a ton of tvs to watch to catch any game that you may be interested in. I'll be back to grab some wings, fries, and some brews.

Yelp
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We always went to Ravinia Brewing and loved it. We were so excited this place was opening up and the menu looked great! It was packed in there--I'll give them that. There was a party going on in the back room--BUT, you don't neglect your customers because you aren't prepared. Positives: ribs were AWESOME. The Lobster bites were delicious. Our daughter loved the Mac and cheese Negatives: it took quite a while just to be seen by a server. Ordered all of our food at once bc we have a kid with us so we like to get in and get out. It took over 45 minutes just to get ONE appetizer. With a toddler this time feels like an eternity because she's now getting hangry. We were never checked in on outside of when food was brought to our table. We got ONE drink the entire 2 hours we were there. When our entrees finally came (our daughter was WELL done eating by now..) my burger was missing the onions (which I had to pay $1.50 for! It was $1.50 to add lettuce and $1.50 to add onion. WILD) My husband ordered the chicken sandwich which comes with whipped feta and a truffle honey vinaigrette. Sounds good right??? Well the sandwich came without it, we informed our server, and she came out with a SLAB OF SLIMEY FETA! NOT whipped feta, like a brick of feta straight from the water bath it comes in. I wish a took a photo bc it was honestly hilarious they thought that was appropriate to bring out . So we just sent the whole sandwich back at that point. So my husband didn't even eat his dinner and somehow our bill was still over $100. Just overall a comical experience and so disappointed as we loved Ravinia so much. Likely won't be back.

Yelp
Good vibes and good food! The Cesar salad with Chicken, and chopped cheese sandwich were fantastic.

Yelp
Jerk chicken and fish sandwich were amazing. They have a kids menu if you ask for it. Music wasn't too loud and beer was good.
