I was visiting my daughter and her partner and had some unexpected time to myself before a meeting at Nero’s Coffee Shop. My colleague got stuck in traffic, so I sat outside doing a bit of work — it was lovely. I wasn’t quite ready to go home afterward, but the weather had turned cooler, and I was wearing a sleeveless dress.
I wandered into Diversity Consignment just looking for “a little something” to throw on — and found a beautiful Madewell jean jacket for only $38. It fit perfectly.
The gentleman behind the counter was so kind. I was already buying the jacket, but he smiled and said, “It’s going to look amazing with your outfit.” He was right — and that extra kindness really stayed with me. I also watched him offer to hold a package for an older woman going downstairs, which made the space feel even more welcoming and community-centered.
The whole experience at Diversity was wonderful — warm, unpretentious, and full of small, human touches. I’m so glad I stopped in.
