After reading the reviews on this gallery, I decided to give it a shot. After all, I love art. The idea of having an art gallery a bit closer to me was exciting. Parking is metered and on the street. $1.00 gets you an hour. Trust me, you won't need it. I walked in the "gallery" and was hit with an overwhelming odor! It smelled like mildew and a convalescent home. It was awful, but I was already here so I decided to give it a chance. The front of the store is empty with an exception of a few canvas paintings- not properly displayed- but on the floor. To the right are some custom framing. I've seen a better selection and pricing at Micheal's Arts and Crafts store. In the next room is where the paintings were hung. They're all a mess as well. In no way do they display new talent or showcase art. The place is dusty and dirty. The staff barely spoke. This can hardly be categorized as a gallery. It's more like an art studio/rec room. Classless and lacking any sophistication. Typical Riverside.

Division 9 Gallery is awesome! Its a great space with all the artists being local. The owner, Cosme, is very friendly, down to earth, and generous enough to open up the space to community events. Classes are also held at the gallery and the owner lets people use his printing press and studio space. Support Division 9 because cool places like this in Riverside are very few and far between!

Division 9 was an unforgettable experience. I love that I was transported into another world the moment I walked in. The walls are lined with vibrant paintings and photography full of color and culture. As I move further in, I am surprised to see it continues to an upstairs! Now the upstairs also showcases some artwork but what I truly admire is that this upstairs space is dedicated to teaching and creating. There are many tables for classes as well as a printing press. The part which made my life was talking to the owner Cosme. He made us feel welcomed and like family. I can really see that he is fully dedicated in what he is doing but more importantly to the cause of what he is creating- giving artists the opportunity to showcase work as well as provide a sense of community. He is an inspiring person to be around. Much love to this gallery and all the welcoming people in it.

I'm still new to Riverside (been here few years) and needed a place to have my wedding photo custom-framed. There weren't much art galleries in Riverside with customer reviews that I could rely on. So I went with Division 9 Gallery. I was impressed with how patient and accommodating Cosme, the owner, was with helping me with the details for my 20 x 30 photo order. Since it was a big order, I wanted to make the right choice the first time. It took us up to an hour (trying different selections of frames and mat colors) till I liked what I was seeing. Cosme picked out a mat that matched my wall color and placed it against the frame so i could picture it on my wall. That helped. He suggested me to take home few frame samples to see which went with my wall/room best. I didn't need to. I placed my order on Tuesday and it was ready by FRIDAY afternoon. One of the employees explained to me what to use to mount the huge photo to the wall (earthquake safe). I'm so happy with my order. Worth every cent.
