A new speakeasy on the rear of Monroe Plaza & brought by the same owners of El Valle, Dixeebe didn't disappoint!
I arrived for a 9:30 reservation. You can't really tell where it is immediately, but if you're familiar with the plaza, it's where Tapa Tapa was previously. We had a bit of a snafu because when I told the hostess I had a 9:30 reservation, she somehow heard "party of 30" and began to setup a huge table! but once we fixed that, everything was great. Our server Briana had great recommendations and was just attentive enough.
We started with the Salmon Roll & the mussels. The salmon roll was tasty but the mussels were amazing. Very bright & fresh with a good amount of spice and acid. I'll definitely be back for that.
I don't remember the names of the first round of cocktails we had but the second round was so good! The Beu cocktail was (don't judge me LOL) a delicious yet subtle mix between a cereal-and-milk bar and a.. Jolly Rancher? Hard to explain but unbelievably delicious. & the Dixeebe Marg was a classic margarita until you get to the cucumber foam that sits on top of it.. so refreshing!
They're brand new, so be patient if you decide to indulge, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
