"Dixie Grill is the kind of place where your friends may judge you a little bit if you dare say you want a salad. Florida kitsch lines the walls of this grill and bar on Dixie Highway, south of Southern Boulevard in West Palm. There are plenty of burger options, including the Fire Burger, a half-pound beef patty topped with melted pepper jack cheese, black bean, and corn salsa with Chipotle aioli and fried jalapenos. On tap is Dixie Grill’s own beer and a wide selection of craft beers and ciders." - J. Miller

Yelp
Dixie' Grill and Bar is a Palm Beach County hidden gem. They are known for insanely good burgers and wings. They brew their own beer and have plenty of guest beers on tap as well. The ambience is a cool hodge podge of random decorations and has a dive bar type feel. The dining area is small, as is the bar area, but that helps it maintain the feel of a true locally owned dive spot. I got the Dixie Signature Burger cooked mid-rare with an over easy egg on top. This was seriously one of the best burger's I've ever eaten. You could taste the quality of the meat and other ingredients working exceptionally well together. The pretzel bun was chewy and held up to the weight of the burger well. The fries were always clearly freshly made and hand cut. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Everything was excellent! In keeping with the rest of the review, the service was fantastic. The bartender asked my name when I sat down, and used it throughout my visit. She was attentive and very pleasant.

Yelp
What a great little local place!!! Rachel was my server at the bar and was greeted quickly and as I was by myself I found a nice spot at the bar. She was quick to greet and get me menus along with a nice ice cold glass of water on a hot day!!! She was pleasant and attentive to a busy bar. Lots of local beers to choose from which I always appreciate when I travel. So look them over and try one out. The menu is solid with all different food choices so take your time and look it over. I had a burger which was massive. Bring your appetite. I also watched a lot of food coming out from the kitchen (quickly I may add) and the portion sizes are generous. Back to my burger. Massive. Good flavor. Worth the price. So if you're in town and want to support a good local place do yourself a favor and get in here. You won't regret it.

Yelp
So, let me tell you about this little hidden gem..... It's so quaint and perfect. Such a refreshing find. The eclectic decor is just a wonderful thing. Every old time lunchbox you could find (I saw an I Love Lucy- what will you find? ) Trust me, take the time to look. Ignore each other for just a bit to take it all in or let it develop that hard to come by thing these days....conversation, pointing out hidden treasures. There's also many pictures and intimate little sayings that will bring back your childhood memories and it's truly just brilliant. I suddenly traveled back through time, to a simpler day and age. Is there even a price tag for that??? I'm all about ambiance. This made for a special day. The food is, oh so good! Comfort food. We couldn't get enough and ordered to-go and will be back again tomorrow. I only could not give 5 stars because with the beer flight some beers were a great temp, cold but some were warmer. But the staff truly cares here. So hard to find in this day and age where no one wants to work. Here, they give 100%. Donna, the manager treats the place so much like her own, we were convinced she was surely the owner. Please go. And go again! I know we will. For sure. You can sit inside or outside. Outside is great for a beautiful, not overly warm day. Today it had been rainy and windy and much cooler and definitely jacket needed. But you won't get the full experience unless inside. My advice? Go on off hours. Not full lunch or dinner time. I'm only guessing you'd be sure to wait. We went around 2:00. Perfect time to miss the lunch and dinner rush. We first went to sit outside. One family ahead of us. Outside was way too windy to enjoy a hot meal. But two tables were getting up and boom. We were in. This is a well oiled machine. But please be kind and enjoy your time but don't dwell too long. Enjoy your time and offer up your space for the next. Please tip this amazing staff. So important. Overtip! Please don't overlook it. And don't worry. If you missed anything, you'll see it next time. Enjoy! And you're welcome!

Yelp
No one ever has a bad day at Dixie. It's the epitome of a good time dive bar... We had a half hour to kill before our dinner reservations so we stopped for a quick beer. Our server was on top of things, pointed out a couple of decent brews, we paid and left. This place also makes a great burger though none of us had one on this visit...

Michael A.

Yelp
Honkey tonk goodness. Pretentionless diner, home made food. Craft beer... burgers, chix all delicious. Outside patio that will welcome doggies. Inside kitchy fun. Go, relax have fun.

Yelp
We have eaten at Dixie Grill & Brewery a few times in the past 6 yrs or so. Food was always amazing. The decor nostalgic Today we were very disappointed! Let's start with the appetizer. We ALWAYS order the gator. Let's just say we ate deep fried batter with just a HINT of gator. For $14, we couldn't let this go unnoticed. The hostess was gracious and didn't charge us for whatever it was they thought was gator. They used to be nice portion sizes. As big as a chicken tender. Reminds me of that old Wendy's commercial, "Where's the beef?" But it was more like "Where's the gator?" Kids ordered burgers and fries. Nice big burgers, fries were fresh potatoes. Hubby ordered the California chicken club. He was disappointed with the thin 'cutlet' of chicken. The tomato was thicker and wider than the chicken. I opted for the Adult mac n cheese. Hardly any chicken. They used to give half inch slices of asparagus. Those tiny green things maybe about 1/8 of an inch was supposed to be the asparagus. I pulled the chicken out and put it on the side along with some of the asparagus so you can see the portions. $17 for this dish. I've ordered this before and had leftovers to bring home. I ate it all and will need a second dinner. SAD, VERY VERY SAD! $81 for family of 4. At least we didn't get charged for the NON-gator, gator bites. We are soooooo disappointed! We will not be back!

Yelp
I loved this place!!!! I was looking for items my whole family would eat with an upbeat vibe. Dixies was the perfect spot! Filled with endless collections, fun signs, and lights, it's very welcoming with half moon shaped booths and a smiling staff with awesome designed dixies tee-shirts. The menu is elevated American food and extremely tasty. The girls loved having fluff dip for sweet potato fries. The wings and crispy chicken sandwich were fried perfectly and the salad was super fresh. We ALL ate everything. They have a nice variety of beer on tap and signature cocktails

Cindy B.

Yelp
Fantastic burgers. I had a classic -- it was cooked perfect. Was medium yet still juicy. I got it with blue cheese which is an up charge but worth it. My husband got the black & blue burger and he nearly licked his plate. Before we'd even finished, he says: we're coming back here! I went to Dixie years ago for trivia night but only ever had appetizers. This was our first time getting burgers. They were yummy. Dixie now has a brewery too. Husband had a citrus ale, which he said was delicious. I went for a cocktail, a Tropical Sunset. It was yummy but not sunset colored, so rather oddly named. Good if you like coconut, which I do. Inside is adorable collection of pop culture items. We enjoyed reminiscing based on the old lunchboxes hanging from the ceiling.

Bill D.

Yelp
Had the Buffalo Chicken sandwich Spicy and good Love the inside decor Lots of old time Lunchboxes hang from ceiling

Hope P.

Yelp
Very cool decorations inside as well walked through on the way outside to our patio table. We had the Texas Burger and a huge delicious Dixie Chicken Chopped Salad.

Yelp
If you haven't been here yet, make it a point to get here as soon as possible. One of the finest hamburgers I have ever eaten is served at this establishment. The quality of the ground beef says a lot about a place, and this place is off the charts fantastic. Even the french fries are glorious, the draft beer is as good as any you'll find anywhere. And the atmosphere is super mega Neato, because they've got all of this memorabilia from old Florida. This building is also a part of history as it used to be the old 5101 bar. my father and his generation frequent it many decades ago, nice that this building lives on as it is now! Check it out. Don't wait too long , or you'll be disappointed you didn't get there sooner.

Adriana Y.

Yelp
What a gem of a place - loved it! Was looking for a bar to have a few drinks and came across this place which was a character itself to be honest. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere is chill. Love the vintage decorations everywhere! We had a flight of beers because we wanted to try the restaurant's own craft beers and they were great! I look forward to visiting here again!

Shari S.

Yelp
We have been coming here since we first moved to Florida. 10 years ago I was doing an Antique show at the Fairgrounds and the owner at the time stop at my booth and we started talking. He told us to come to Dixi to check out all the antiques and try the food of course. We have been going back once a month. The hamburgers( and I don't even like hamburgers) are excellent. The wings are great. All the food seems homemade . The service is always friendly and attentive. Try this place.

Natalie F.

Yelp
This place is INCREDIBLE! The food is top notch every time. Service is great and just such an amazing atmosphere!

Stacey C.

Yelp
So I've lived in Florida a long Elmer time and never been here . Stopped by last weekend with a friend. The food was good and the craft beer was good as well. Pretzels were fresh with beer cheese . Sliders has a boos taste. I would come back. Service was great. Not too big inside but nice patio outside. The sweet potato fries are served with marshmallows fluff. Yum

Yelp
I chose this place for my 50th birthday lunch with my friend and my husband. We got to sit outside and even though the traffic was passing by, we could still hold a decent conversation and have lunch. I had a burger and fries and will never regret it! The burger was perfectly done and the fries were amazing! Not too many, not too few, and just as crispy as I want them! The waitress was really nice, too and always checked up on us about our order and drinks! I would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
We arrived here on a Saturday night, and the place was busy. While waiting for a hostess, for approximately 5-minutes, we watched the kitchen staff that you could see from the front door. While waiting, we watched a line cook/chef that was sweaty preparing a salad. You could see he was not wearing gloves and was extremely sweaty. For an unknown reason, the male reached up, wiped the sweat from his head/face, and immediately put his hands back into the salad. Needless to say, we were completely in shock as the salad was placed on the rack to be served. We did not make it past the entrance. If this is ultimately allowed, people must get sick from the food. In the words of Jon Taffer, "Shut it down."

Devon F.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots on Dixie! Another local Palm Beach hole in the wall that's been around & enjoyed forever. Has some of the coolest interior designs of most places I've been, even in that bathrooms. You've got great bar, indoor and cover patio seating here. Most know for their great burgers, but I also enjoy a few of their other options. Service is always good. They brew their own beer, and are soon to be opening a brewery right next door. Can't wait for that!

Kristin S.

Yelp
We were in the area running errands and visiting some local breweries when we needed to find a spot to satiate our hunger. We asked around and we're directed to check out Dixie Grill. We WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! The interior is small and cluttered with tons of stuff hanging on the walls in all the best ways. It's like walking into an antique store that boasts a bar. It's flippin' awesome. We had already been brewery hopping but, I needed to at least try something they made in house so I went with the PR Knife Fight and it was delish! Just the right amount of spice (I'll make you look up what's in it so it's a surprise). We went overboard with the food selections because we knew we wanted to get the full scratch kitchen experience. Everything was delicious. The only comments I have were that the side of mac and cheese was lacking taste and the regular fried chicken sandwich coating was stuck to the bun and not to the chicken. Honestly, not a huge deal. I would highly recommend popping in if you're in the are. Make sure to get there early because space is limited!

Debra T.

Yelp
Wow... great service! The food is sooo good!! Priced well and served hot and full of flavor. Love, love this little hidden gem. Soo much to look at... antique lunch boxes and guitars galore. The whole vibe is just cool!! The garlic Parmesan wings are off the hook and the pulled pork nachos.... Just shut yo mouth good!! Slap yo mamma good! Make your tongue slap yo brains! Bringing the biker friends back here!

Sharlene H.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic!! Food took longer than expected for a Saturday but everything was perfectly made! I loved the black and blue burger ! There is no doubt that we will be back again and try other things, I do recommend you order a flight of beer, it's a good little spot with good food, I'm not usually a burger person but this little one turned my mind around. Great spot to grab a beer and hang out at. I totally recommend the beer cheese dip !! It's as close to Minnesota and Wisconsin you can get !! It's fantastic !

Yelp
In reference to food safety mentioned in previous review... We witnessed our waitress take the plates off of our table and return them to the shelf of clean plates. You can not take plates, utensils or food that other customers touched and allow another customer to use... That's food safety 101 We came during lunch hours. Only seating that was available was outdoor but thankfully a party was leaving and gave us their table. Waitress came and washed it with a wet towel and of course left it to air dry. Service was mediocre. Waitress wasn't friendly or welcoming. Dropped the wings down on the table and when we asked the flavor she replied as if we were supposed to differentiate them ourselves. I think she was ready to go home. Food: Burgers were dry. Burnt on the outside and pink on the inside. Turn down the heat on the grill please. Mahi had zero flavor. Cheese sticks look better than they taste. All the batter comes off when you pick them up. Best thing: French fries $107 later... not satisfied.

Summer L.

Yelp
Have been there many times. Always good service and food. The wait is never long. I love their beer list, they a little bit of everything to choose from and from locals also! They also have good specials throughout the week too :)

J B.

Yelp
Had there house special burger and fries which was delicious. The waitress was great. Atmosphere was great. Location great. Visitor and was craving a juicy burger. Thanks

Zoe C.

Yelp
Great bar food. For appetizers, I recommend the Beer Cheese Dip -- the pretzels that come with the dip are phenomenal. The Dixie Pub Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Buffalo Chicken Tenders were great as well. Friday night is trivia night so the restaurant was packed, but I highly recommend going for trivia night. I will definitely be back.

Greshka P.

Yelp
We came here looking for good burgers and sandwiches, after our first choice didn't work out. They had plenty of parking spots open, and the outside seating didn't look crowded so we were sure to get a spot and food quick. Saw spots open at the bar and decided to sit there. The inside is decorated with a lot of fun things like lunchboxes, quotes on wood frames, sarcastic notes and more. The menu is pretty extensive with salads, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, wings, soup, desserts and more. They also have "specialty cocktails", spritzers, beers on tap and bottle and an almost full bar. Our server had the exact attitude you would expect from a dive bar. Witty, sarcastic, but attentive and friendly in her own way. She had our drinks ready quick for us and after recommending different things from the menu took our order. Food took a bit to come out, but we were entertained with the TVs and she turned it to the game we requested while we waited. The Fire Burger was really good! Meat was cooked exactly as ordered and very flavorful, with or without the fire sauce. I ordered the California Chicken Club sandwich and was very impressed at how tender and juicy the chicken was. The chipotle aioli added a nice kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. And they fries were nicely done! Definitely a cool dive bar to try!

Ellie W.

Yelp
I was really impressed with Dixie Grill and Bar. Not only is the atmosphere really fun and eclectic the food was really good. They have a wide selection of unique beers and flights to try as well. Their chicken tenders were so crispy and juicy I was blown away. And their sweet potato fries with marshmallow fluff dipping sauce was to die for. I will most Defintely will be back next time I'm in the area.

Michele A.

Yelp
This restaurant has an amazing menu! And ipa beer! We got there early to beat the Father's Day crowd! We were greeted by Rachel and our server was Stephanie. Very polite ladies! The menu has assorted salads wraps and delicious burgers! Hubby had these yummy sweet potato fries served with this decadent marshmallow dipping sauce plus his huge burger. I had the sliders. Also very good! For dessert we had the homemade Key Lime Pie! Folks this a very casual burger restaurants. Portions are big so bring your appetite!

Hu N.

Yelp
Fun brewery / grill experience. Friendly server made great recommendations and offered beer samples. We both had blackened mahi which was fresh and tasty. Good beer too!

Melissa Ann L.

Yelp
So I've lived next to Dixie bar and grill for 2 years and never tried it. The other day I was craving a good burger & google stated this was the spot for a good burger according to reviews. So I ordered a Texas burger & a slice of chocolate cake .. took one bite out of the burger that I ordered well done & saw pink . Okay .. more like medium well burger I can get over that .. but the taste of the burger was disgusting & it's absurdly too big .. probably why it wasn't well done & cooked all the way .. so then I said okay I still have a cake to try . ONE BITE I immediately spit it up. That didn't taste like chocolate whatsoever & was so dry ! Oh yeah the nice little black hair in the cake was the cherry on top ! I didn't even try to get $25 something back plus tip , just decided to never come back .. that's how terrible the food was . I only gave two stars because the environment walking in looked pleasing . Too bad the service & food was terrible .

Jenn B.

Yelp
The ambience is sooo apparent in this magically find! We just tripped upon this gem because our families flight was rerouted 3.5 hours away and we got there early and had a bite to eat. I had the catfish and so did "the man", it was delish! We also had the chefs homemade egg rolls fabulous!! To top it all off the server was friendly, warm and on point! A stressful moment averted with a cold beer and friendly local treasure!!! Thank you

Heather S.

Yelp
The inside of this place is super cute and iconic. We stopped in on Saturday afternoon , not super busy. Our waitress Abbie** was super sweet and attended right to our needs! Funny how I ordered the Be Elle Tee** and we realized that the BLT didn't mention LETTUCE on the menu and it was throwing me off ! Lol but it was so good ! Fair pricing on the menu. My daughter had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich , yum ! She loved it ! My grandson said the Chicken Strips were the BEST EVER ! And my Daughter in law said her Mahi Sandwich was also the best she had ever had! We recommend this place ! Go and enjoy the food ! Also they are pet friendly with a little doggie menu !!! So cute !!!

Yelp
We were driving down South Dixie Highway around 5 PM looking for a place to get a drink and we saw the sign for Dixie Grill and Bar, so we pulled into their small parking lot. It is not much to look at, but as soon as we walked in the door, we knew we had come to the right place! It is small, cozy, with lots of stuff hanging on the walls and ceiling. Great atmosphere! They had an extensive craft beer list, including selections from their own brewery. The wine selection was limited, but my wife was happy. We had other plans for dinner, but we spoke to a regular sitting at the bar next to us, and he raved about the food. The bartender was very friendly and helped us with our beer and wine selections. We will be back for dinner!

Robert R.

Yelp
Good food and good service, I have been here several times for wings and burgers, both delicious.

Brian C.

Yelp
We've gone three times after our college aged daughter told us about this place. Great sandwiches, burgers, and pretzels with unique melted cheese and beer fondue. Wide selection of beers. Buffalo chicken wrap is a favorite. Unpretentious and great friendly staff. Outdoor dining at tables or eclectic cool design and decorations inside. Nice bar. Worth a trip in the West Palm Beach area.

Christa W.

Yelp
Good, ol' neighborhood pub. Good ribs and burgers, great variety of beers and fun, junky antiques on the walls. Perfect!

Harry W.

Yelp
Love this place. Food is top notch, plenty of beer choices, and friendly attentive staff. My favs are the pretzels & beer cheese, the burgers & the chicken. The decor is eclectic Funk, but I also often call ahead and just carry out (packing is great) Can't go wrong here

William O.

Yelp
Beer selection - 5 Star Food - 5 Star Service - 5 Star Ambiance - Authentic Donna was bartender / host / server. On my list of places to re-visit when in South Florida

George P.

Yelp
$11.00 for a pretzel with cheese ? This was excellent but overpriced. The burger was very very greasy and not cooked. The waitress was very kind and took the burger back. The second attempt was actually comical- the burger came back out still raw an undercooked! At this point I gave up. They did remove it from the bill. Not sure I'd try this place again but if I did I would ask for the burger to be cooked well done ---unless you want it to moooooo. Plus the place was not very clean.

Brian R.

Yelp
Jekyll and Hyde eatery! I met the A game side of this place last time. So I ordered what I figured would be equally A game good for take out. My Dixie Pub burger? Bacon burnt beyond recognition. Medium rare is well done. Onion straws? A greasy glop. Threw them out. The green beans? They were an assortment for dead to tough and under cooked. Bright green to dead yellow-green. Out they went too. Lobster bisque was the soup. I felt sad for the crustaceans who gave their happy lives up for this gritty soup. Speaking of True Grit, even John Wayne would've walked away from the beer cheese and those desecrated pretzels. The bar, while waiting, was the saving grace. I had looked forward to coming back frequently off of the first meals. This made me want to run screaming from the place.

Trina S.

Yelp
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the woman behind the bar. Our server was very nice as well. I got the pub burger. It was yummy. My husband got the shrimp. It came with cole slaw which he liked. We will be back. Everyone seemed happy except the college football type busboy. He seemed slightly annoyed. Aside from that we will come back. Oh yeah the drink was yummy too.

Chayse R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here on our last night in West Palm Beach. We had a few beers that were delicious and also got the beer cheese and pretzels. Very delicious. Everyone was very accommodating and made sure we were happy. We sat on the back patio which was perfect that time of day. Plenty of fans to keep it nice and cool. Would definitely recommend!

Kelly G.

Yelp
Run for their grilled wings! I'm obsessed with wings and their grilled chicken wings are to die for. The medium garlic park sauce and blue cheese tasted amazing too. Cute little restaurant

Brent S.

Yelp
We waited at the front for 12 minutes before any came to the front and acknowledged us. Food was good. We are foodies and my burger had no seasoning. I asked for salt but was never brought any to the table.

Michael H.

Yelp
Saw on yelp. Always interested in trying new places I had the Po burger I believe with pretzel bun, cheese, bacon jam, lettuce and tomato. It was a very and tasty hamburger. Ordered medium it came out perfect Other person got house salad with grilled chicken very large and tasty as wel

Mike Z.

Yelp
A hidden dive in West Palm. Only found out about because of social media. Careful when driving by cause you might just drive right pass it. A nice surprise here is that they actually brew their own beer, the Hoplomatic IPA was a decent beer. They also have other local and craft beers on tap. The fried cheese saw so light and airy, was not soaked in oil and fried to a delicious golden brown. The burger sliders were likewise delicious but I think I enjoyed the fries even more than the sliders. Service was great, we sat outside on the patio. They are limiting the number of tables both inside and out. Will most certainly be back here in the near future!

Pat B.

Yelp
We have been to Dixie Grill numerous times and always enjoy the meal. Today we stopped in for lunch. They have a large outdoor patio for dining which is nice. Our servers were working hard to serve everyone on the patio and were very attentive. We started with a beer and wine. They have an extensive list of beer but only one Chardonnay! We then tried a small order of grilled chicken wings. They are fried first then grilled. They were not crispy and the skin was a little rubbery. We did not care for the wing sauce. My husband ordered a burger with coleslaw and I ordered the mahi sandwich with a side of green beans. The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare. The fish was a little dry but the green beans were fresh and good. We had high hopes but nothing today was that exceptional. They do limit seating and chairs at the indoor bar were separated to allow for social distancing.

Fabian M.

Yelp
Went for lunch today service and food were great . Their ample selection of beers on tap Allways let me try something new . My wife and myself had burgers. Juicy and cooked just the way we wanted . You can't go wrong with their burger We will be back again for sure

Julie F.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place when I came here a year ago with a girlfriend. I'd wanted my husband to try it for a long time. Due to Covid restrictions, there's been some changes inside and to the menu, but I still really liked it. I'd come hoping to have their fried oysters (again), but they are no longer on the new menu. Instead, we both got their sliders and were quite happy. I got their pulled pork sliders which were 3 mini sliders. The copious pork was topped with delicious onion straws and beer cheese served on a pretzel style tiny bun. I got their mashed potatoes as my side (too many French fries lately) and added some gravy. These sliders and the potatoes were just great! My husband opted for their mini burger sliders. The three minis came with American cheese, lettuce, and tomato and onion on a brioche bun. I tried one of his (we swapped one of each) and his too were delicious. He also went with the mashed potatoes. We even argued over which slider was better! We couldn't believe each order of sliders was only $10. Such a bargain for really tasty and filling food. I even brought one of my pork sliders home for later. They still have their extensive beer menu all with catchy names. Lots of items on tap plus bottled ones. My husband tried two very different beers - - a lager (don't trust a blonde) -- and a more fruity one (lions, tigers, and pears, oh my). He liked both of them. They still have all their paraphernalia hanging from the ceiling -- lunch boxes and signs and art work, etc ... and all over the walls. You will find something new each time you come. And you'll want to come here -- for the tasty food and the cozy pub atmosphere. Can not wait to come back.

Yelp
My new favorite place in Palm Beach County! Lots of craft beers, brews, comfort and traditional foods with creative magic to tantalize your taste buds! We stopped in for lunch as my wife had been touting Dixie as a place she knew I would enjoy. She was right! Today I ordered a "Trust No Blondes" brew to start, a white porter with some layers of cocoa and coffee. I went with the Beef Sliders and Mashed Potatoes with gravy for my entree. Great Choice! My wife convinced me to trade one of my beef sliders for one of her Pork sliders on a pretzel bun. It was moist and flavorful. She likewise enjoyed the beef slider. For dessert I chose another brew, "Lions, Tigers and Pears, oh my!" A wonderful fruity concoction of Elderflower, pear and citrus, that was refreshing and a great palate cleanser. We both finished our lunch satisfied and happy! They get the Douglas Mcarthur, "I shall return!" Rating...
