Where to Eat Near the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Cobb County - Eater Atlanta

"Another live music venue near the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Dixie Tavern is the place to let your hair down, dance to local bands, and unwind after a fancy night out at the theater. The loaded potato skins and fried pickles here are crowd favorites. Open until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday." - Henna Bakshi

Had a lot of fun! Iyanah and Dorian were super sweet and made my experience awesome. I loved the Dixie burger with the tater tots. Would recommend anyone to check this place out if you like live music!

Came here awhile ago to watch a buddy of mine play. He is the drummer for a band, and let me tell ya... The show was great! The venue has plenty of room, and even with a bunch of people hanging around the bar, I never had to wait very long for drinks. The sound was also great, the band rocked the tavern through their entire set and it rocked. I had a blast, and every employee I talked to seemed like they were having a blast. If you have the chance, pop in. Lots of fun!

Google
Great bar scene. Happened to go there on a karaoke night and the KJ, Thad, was excellent on the sound board. Fun group of people with some very good singers. Very nice bar keeps too!

Had a great time there, the atmosphere is really laid back and relaxing. The staff and patrons have always been welcoming and friendly. I really enjoyed the live music, both performers I saw on separate nights sweetened the nights! The Dixie pasta was absolutely delicious and the prices are great!

The hubs and I went out last night to enjoy some drinks as we celebrated 30 years of marriage. We found this tavern through Google maps and decided to give it a try. Located off Windy hill in Marietta GA. I swear, I must have passed this multiple times and never knew it existed in this strip mall. The exterior was clean and entering was an atmosphere of being in a Nashville Dive bar. Only much much cleaner, lol. We were very early and found out that a band would be playing called NU WAVE ATL. The wait staff assured us that they were really good. We decided to stay and eat and drink to check them out. The food here was delish. Served hot and fresh and always with a smile. From the time we sat down to the time we basically shut down the bar and the band was finished, our waitress was still energetic and smiling no matter how many times we had them running for food or drink. The drinks were perfect and the prices were as well. It's definitely worth noting that this bar would be the perfect place for a friend or family members birthday for food drinks and lots of music and dancing. Thank you Dixie Tavern! We had a blast and will definately be back 😉

Google
It was an alright experience… would I go back? Maybe. I definitely wouldn’t sit at the bar again, it was a bit sticky, the chairs were wobbly, and one bartender seemed stressed. She was working so hard taking care of other guest she forgot about my drink but didn’t forget to charge for it. (Eventually she made the drink after about 15 mins of waiting when others would take like 2 mins of waiting)… maybe she was overworked but ehh either way. The musical bingo that they do on Thursdays was 6/10. Could use more popular songs. It started about 45 mins after it was scheduled to, but I appreciate the hostess was excited about being there and having people participate. To the host I’d just recommend some more popular recent songs or even once a song played, have some banter in between and ensure everyone knows the title of the song before moving to the next one. The dad jokes were cool, but definitely more energy was needed for a place like this.

Google
We love this place. The staff here is super nice and the food is very affordable. They have free pool on the weekdays and there's always a cool band playing on the weekends!! We've been coming here for the past year or 2 and it's our neighborhood pub, whenever we need a night out ita perfect and we love it. Yelp
We had a great time! First, this is a 21 & older ONLY bar/restaurant. From what we understand this is a long-time, on-going law/policy they are required to uphold when they are open; morning/noon/night. Correct me if I got something wrong, but they turned away our friends because their daughter is not 21. They drove a long way & had we known this BEFORE we invited them... not 1 word on the website or when my friend reserved our table... not 1 word. But, we know now. This is a smaller place, dark & split between 2 rooms with a common LONG bar on the side to fulfill the entire place. Pool table behind the stage & normal dining spaces in front of the stage with a space to dance. The drinks are very reasonable, so that is a HUGE plus! I got fish tacos & fries that were pretty good. Our friends got a big pretzel & said it was good. The menu is big, so next time I'll have to review it in more detail. The sound from the band was not so loud you couldn't talk over them- was actually a good thing so we could hear eachother & enjoy the show! What a show, btw! Purple ATL ROCKED for 2 STRAIGHT HOURS!!! Not sure the video will do them justice, but come out & join them next time- I'll be there!! Until next time- keep rockin'!!!

Yelp
Great food, service and ambiance Live music, cheerful staff and great selection of beers on tap

Yelp
I went here with my girlfriend a couple times for some live music. Lots of dark wood interior with a stage right in the middle. The beer selection is okay. The alcohol selection is your standard rail plus a few extra things. I really came here for the music. There's free parking out front. They often do have a cover. The live karaoke was a lot of fun. The sound guy really made everyone seem better.

Ron B.

Yelp
Fuck yeah! If you are a karaoke junkie, check out their events calendar and go when #Metalsome karaoke (THUR nights!) is around. Food was typical "pub-grub", but staff was very attentive and quick with your order. Lively music, patrons and some realllllllly good local talent! #MetalsomeKaraoke has a couple of set lists, so you need to have your 1st request in by 8:30 before they start at 9pm. They are so popular, you have to sing your 1st request before they let you put in your second. I'm older, and my wife even older, so we did. It stick around for a second on stage performance, but had a great time watching/listening to all who did! Trying to get a larger group together to go some THuR night soon! Love this place and concept!

Yelp
Definitely a bar with mostly locals. Came with friends and played a couple rounds of pool. The staff was nice but the music could've been a bit more eclectic.

Yelp
Great venue, wonderful food, enjoyable crowd whose ages range from 25 - 60+ We came for live music and we were very happy to see

Yelp
We've only lived here since 2018 and I've often heard mention of Dixie Tavern. On a whim we decided to give it a try. We were surprised it was located in a strip mall and honestly came close to not going in. So glad we changed our minds. We had to sit at the bar because many of the tables were reserved. This didn't bother us though and we were given great service by Sierra. We ordered some food items along with drinks and while the food wasn't 5 star delicious we did enjoy what we had. The band playing was called Band X and they were absolutely amazing. We stayed about 2.5 hours because we had plans the next morning. We definitely recommend Dixie Tavern for a fun weekend as a couple or with friends.

Dusti H.

Yelp
This was a cool little dive bar. Very good/chill atmosphere. My Big Man & I went before heading to a Braves game. We wanted a couple of cold beers & some decent bar food. We were both a little disappointed in the draft beer selection. No Busch Light, no Natural Light. Still, the Yuengling was cold & the foods were hot. Both good. Not great. .... But it's bar food. Very cool laid back vibe. The bartender was great. It was pretty early when we went in. Super neat/cool/different decor, free pool tables & Clean bathrooms, We will definitely be going back next time we're in ATL.

Yelp
Great hole in a wall bar with live music and pool. Awesome for people watching or getting a drink after work. Non-smoking as of recently, which helps a lot. I think they have free pool Thursdays + acoustic music, bands Fri and Saturday. You can find band schedule online. Never eaten here but the service is good. Bathrooms are a mess so beware.

Yelp
We went out finally after being sick through out the holidays with COVID. Ever after testing negative, the symptoms were very obvious, so getting out and deciding at the "11th hour" to go to a place neither of us had been to before seemed a tall order. We did research the band, BAND-X who had a lot of positive things written about them, but by God were in for a surprise... They did a lot of soft blues, rhythm & blues but then they did a perfect version of Bohemian Rhapsody, I didn't think Queen, who first released it in 1975 were capable of playing it so well. That got my full attention and it ran straight into ABBAs, Dancing Queen which was very impressive as their female vocalist along with a blues singer did perfect vocals. We're definitely going to "earmark" their next visit to Marietta with eager anticipation...

Yelp
Great Food, Great Entertainment.. Clean and accommodating. They have our business we will be back. We had a great time.

Yelp
This gorgeous bar parks itself inside a strip mall, but don't let the location fool you, this is a gorgeous dive full of locals. I visited this location while in a business trip. Instead of going with the crowd I came her and it was the RIGHT CHOICE!!! They had a house band , free pool, and cheap drinks. The venue is illuminated by a series of beautiful string lights and neon signs that captivate you upon entry. They have a gracious outdoor area to enjoy beverages, have a smoke, and enjoy the live music being played inside. The locals at this bar were exceptionally welcoming. I played pool for two hours, FOR FREE, with people who were there to enjoy the ambience. Let it be known you can smoke inside of this bar. If You were looking for a bar that resembles your hometown and makes you feel welcome Dixie Tavern is the place to go!!
google avatar

Alyssa D.

Yelp
Little bit of a hole in the wall vibe.. Food was ok.... Open mic isn't an open mic - it's a jam session so.. be prepared to be bombarded with drums and guitars .. if you're an acoustic solo person this isn't the place for you. I wish people would start advertising this properly and avoid the whole misconception.. :(
google avatar

Yelp
Start with one of the greatest, unexpected, unbelievable dive bars the south has even seen. Add the amazing Alicia at the bar; Sam and the band playing Hendrix and it will blow your mind. The beers are local, fresh and cold. The whiskey is accessible and reasonably priced. Great music, service and brews. A match made in heaven. Well worth the trip. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I REALLY wanted to enjoy Dixie Tavern. Last night was our first night going and we were looking forward to listening and dancing to live music. The band was awesome and the bartenders were GREAT, but the inside smoking was AWFUL. I would've given this place a 5 star rating had it been smoke-free. The venue itself is very well laid out and there aren't many places with great live music around. Unfortunately, everyone around us was smoking and it was just awful. I won't be back unless they make it smoke-free or create a designated room for smokers.

Ralph E M.

Yelp
Shithole. Don't come here They advertise one cover price and then change it when u get there. Food absolutely sucks
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Let's just say I only come here during the weekdays. I tried coming here on a weekend and it was PACKED with not my kind of crowd. Plus I had to pay cover to get in. And the music was WAAAAAAY loud, as in my heart was pounding. I like coming here on Monday and Tuesdays. Mondays are fun open music mic night and a lot of people who go are really talented. Tuesdays are karaoke night. A lot of really chill people show up. It's a fun night and usually ends with people dancing their butts off. It's a great place to hang out when it's not to crazy. Plus they have pool in the back!
google avatar

Yelp
Visited this place for lunch with some coworkers after a long morning outside doing work. ENVIRONMENT: very southern setting with all wood design. Pool tables and a few games. They also have live bands QUALITY: the food is great. I ordered the Dixie chicken pasta and it had plenty of Alfredo sauce....... I loved every bite. WILL I RETURN: YESSSSS
google avatar

Andy L.

Yelp
This place rocks! And karaoke every Tuesday! Great place to hangout and awesome drink specials!
google avatar

Tammi A.

Yelp
Love Dixie Tavern!! The food is great & the service is outstanding. You can't go wrong with the Chicken Caesar Wrap!! Delicious. Daily specials make the affordable even more so & the tea rivals Chick-fil-a! Here's a secret, they make it fresh three times a day. Very nice to have a place so affordable close to the office. In & out always in under an hour. Jilian is an awesome manager. Get to know the people there & soon you'll feel like Norm on Cheers!
google avatar

April E.

Yelp
The place is cute and with the exception of the music which is great. The wait staff needs seriously extra training in how to serve the customers. Timing is very important when food is order and drinks. Bartender waa good and the ritas were actually good not over the top with sweetsour stuff. I give a 1 star for the waitress aervices do better. I rather go to bartender to get service.
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
Wow...there is nothing "southern" there. Wings were warm, service was a little put out by my request to stop playing rap music. I finally left dismayed at the false advertising. First and LAST visit.

Yelp
Been here a couple times to see bands play and have dinner. First time I went, the band was so popular it was elbow-to-elbow inside and I couldn't even get to the bar. Band was great, but couldn't even order a drink. Second time I went a little earlier and was able to get a seat at the bar. Service was great and the caesar chicken wrap was really good. Bands were really good. Third time went for a band and dinner with a friend. Around 10:30 we were able to get the last table by the pool tables behind the stage. We figured we could at least eat at the table then go around the front of the stage and dance after. We had to ask a bartender 3 times to send a server to the table and the bartender was about to come out until a server finally showed up. The server seemed out of it and we weren't sure if she was high or drunk. She took our orders. I ordered a philly with steak, no peppers. My friend ordered a philly with chicken, no peppers. We also asked for an order of fried pickles. The food took awhile, and was finally dropped at the table as the waitress ran off. There were no fried pickles brought to the table, we figured maybe she went back to get them. My friend thought her Philly chicken tasted funny and it was actually a ham & cheese poboy. She went ahead and ate it because we didn't want to wait since it was so late. Both sandwiches were just ok. The pickles never came and we never saw the waitress again. We moved around to be closer to the front of the stage for awhile, keeping a watch for the waitress. Never saw her again. More people sat at our old table and a different server attended to them. Finally went to the bar around 1 am to check on the tab. I'm assuming from the conversation that we weren't the only ones with issues and the server was probably no longer there. They apologized and gave a discount. Live music in the area is scarce. Sometimes a cover, sometimes not, check their FB events. This is a great venue. It is kinda dark and a little smokey. Just get there early if you want to eat and need a table or bar space. Food is hit or miss. Beer selection is good. Bar staff is awesome.

Leslie D.

Yelp
Fun bar really nice staff discounts for hospitality great atmosphere will definitely be back

Yelp
I've become a regular at this establishment since I've been working in Atlanta the food is quite tasty pricing is in line with most bars in the area and the bar itself is spotless; but most importantly is what keeps me coming back... The staff is extraordinary! Anthony is an awesome individual for whom is not like most owners; he takes time to get to know his clientele and develop a "Cheers" type environment, Andi is a spectacular bartender whose personality and smile can be addicting to be around, Jillian is always friendly and smiling and when she yells "hey Brandon" at me walking in the door it doesn't freak me out as it would normally, The bouncer, whose name escapes me at the moment, always shakes my hand when I walk in after work at night and ask me how work went. The entire staff is well trained and professional. This is truly a top notch establishment for which I will continue to visit regularly...
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Come here on occasion only for the pool tables; there are 3 and there's not usually a fight for them. Great demographics of people, everyone seems mature and very friendly and fun. Bar staff is great! Food was pretty good for bar food. Bouncers are very nice and they check IDs going in Downside: you can't hear a thing. Nothing. After leaving. The music is so horribly loud it makes you want to leave. Live music every night which is great and I love that however if they would turn it down a little bit it really would make it much more enjoyable and people would stay longer!

Horatio C.

Yelp
Only got one star cause I couldn't give it none This place is a dump. Food is nasty. Buffalo wings r horrid. Poor chicken quality. No sauce. I will never come here again . It's been years since I've been and now I know why The stench in here is unbearable. Supposed to be non smoking for the music tonight. It still stinks. F this place
google avatar

Krystal K.

Yelp
Casual atmosphere with live music, food specials and daily drink deals. Super chill & relaxed. Pool tables. Only negative is that smoking is allowed inside.
google avatar

Cameron B.

Yelp
I have two reasons I love Dixie Tavern- Live music and half price food on Thursdays. What does that mean? On Thursday, you can eat for cheap and listen to a local band jam (Thank you, Captain Obvious... I know). The food is pretty good, get the tater tots. The Buffalo Chicken tenders are a nom fest in your mouth... The wait staff can be slow, but they are super sweet. They usually have good beer deals, and local beers on tap too. Definitely recommend, grab a booth, put some graffiti on the wall, check out the Zac Brown Band memorabilia, and enjoy your grub and swill.
google avatar

Britni B.

Yelp
One of my favorite local bars!! They have drink specials just about everyday and live music all the time. Make it a point to go if the Psycho Devilles are playing. They are amazing! The food is pretty typical bar food but delicious. Love the nachos!
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
OK initially I wanted to go with 3 stars, but dammit, I'll tell you why 4. You drive up and its clearly a corner stone dive bar of the area. Sundays are closed from what I've seen. Its a mid-weekend bar that dances around a country / rock theme. Walking in, as long as it isn't a big band playing, it should be free. (Friday, Saturdays SEEM to have been $5 cover). Bouncers have always been legitimate. Nice guys who look like they're ready to deal with crap, but really just want an easy night if its possible. Always checking ID's like they should. That's a green flag from the start. Ya walk in with a big stage to your left and behind that has an impressive, well kept pool table onset of 3 tables. To your right is a small few steps up to a better view of the stage where there is table service. I've never dined with table service so I cannot give you a review on that, but I have not heard anything bad. The front / main bar is where the magic happens. Before you even sit down, youre very welcomed by some of the most humble staff in a 10 mile radius, and I mean that ( I frequent many of the restaurants and bars in the area ). Like, these people are down to earth and act as if you're sitting in their living room. Bo ( maybe its spelled Beau?) has been extremely accommodating regardless of situation. Super friendly guy. They got a Dixie special for $2. Look idk what's in it, but its affordable and gets the job done, but otherwise they have a very decent selection and the bartenders arent exactly shy with the pours. The food... Well this is where I can't just throw on a 5th star. Its a divey bar and I get that, but I ordered the Buffalo chicken dip one day and it was like 80% buffalo sauce and %20 chicken. I couldn't finish it. The wings are not tasty at all. The area has an Apple Bees, Tilted Kilt, Hooters, Taco Mac, and even random Wing shops... I'm just saying... They gotta start measuring up. The wings seem under cooked, not well seasoned and red / bloody at the core most of the time. So I, personally, go to another establishment just to have wings THEN go to Dixie Tavern. Food matters guys... It really does, even after 6 pints. They have great bands, great atmosphere, very safe and hey! I've left my car over night multiple times and it hadn't been towed! I initially feel they need a 3.5 star, but the people behind the bar and the people at the door have been so frikken cool, that they make the visit Worth a shot or two... Pun intended.
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
Went here with a friend for lunch...I won't lie, initially, I did feel uncomfortable due to the Name, My Skin Color and The Name! LOL! But, once we got in, it was great! The food was good, the bar tender was good and I the prices were reasonable! I honestly envisioned the scene in the movie "48 Hrs" when Eddie Murphy went into the bar and and the events led up to him saying "There's a New Sheriff In Town..." But it wasn't like that! :-) I had the Lemon Pepper Buffalo Wings and Tater Tots...My Total was only $8.52! I guess they have Half Off Specials...I ain't complaining so I'll be back soon during the Day time! :-) P.S. The TVs were great and located in great spots!
google avatar

Jerry T.

Yelp
I did not want to like this place. As someone who grew up in Atlanta, I don't dig the whole rebel flag sign and decor. We are fighting an uphill battle with that image already, but that's an aside. Both times I've been have been I was dragged here by girls or I probably would not have stopped by, and it was a blast! They actually book really solid acts. I would feel comfortable saying they book the best performers in the area. It's not up to par with Atlanta, but Marietta is a whole different animal. The stage is close to the bar and it gets LOUD. Would not recommend it for a first date because you will be screaming back and forth at each other. The drinks are cheap enough and strong. The crowd is very local. A lot of regulars. There is a TON of parking because it's basically in a strip mall. If you see someone you like performing here I would definitely stop by.
google avatar

Justin B.

Yelp
I don't understand why it is popular belief that all of the "Outside of the Perimeter" crowds are not as cool as the crowds that live inside the perimeter. Dixie Tavern does have a good amount of local bands that are great. Most of the bands begin their sets, as all bands trying to make a name for themselves do: being a multiple band cover group, tribute group, or whatever you crazy kids call them these days. The beer selection at this location is nothing special. They carry all of the typical domestic and import selections that you see at a place like T.G.I. Fridays. The interior does have enough pool tables and dart boards to keep most bar hopping customers entertained. The crowd that usually shows up at this particular location are nothing special, from my experience. I guess it is kind of true that some of the OTP individuals can be a little bit lame at times. I am still in OTP denial myself.
google avatar

Angie R.

Yelp
TERRIBLE service. I was ignored by my waitress for over an hour, then was treated with disdain for actually wanting another beer. I'm a server myself and that was totally unacceptable. Never coming back! Update: after 20 mins waiting for my second beer, I ask her about it...she then tries to tell me she gave it to me, tries to make me feel guilty by saying she'll have to ring it in again and will have to buy it herself. So she gave it to someone else, blamed me for it, and then shamed me. Nice.
google avatar

Bob D.

Yelp
So bands schedule to play at 9:30 and when they're finally through with sound check at 9:50 they play one (1)! Song and take a break! Wtf. Really. Glad I didn't have to pay a cover or I would be pissed. Drinks are weak if any alcohol, under staffed badly.
google avatar

Eric W.

Yelp
This place is hit or miss. When this place is on, it is on. This place is stocked with Gen Y and X'ers. Thursday and Saturday night seems to be days to go. The bands are typically amazing. The drinks are pretty cheap and the selection is typical. This place has the most beautiful lesbian bartender than I desire because I can never have her.
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
If snarky wait staff and not being able to touch anything because you'll stick to it is your thing, then this is the place for you. I dragged my poor husband here because I really do love the po boys here. I used to come here for lunch all the time but now that I work in Alpharetta that's not possible. They overcooked his burger, but again my po boy was great, the tots are great. Medium to them is Well done. They shouldn't even ask how you want it as they'll prepare it however they want. My two cents: Food is decent, atmosphere is....well, it's a bar.
google avatar

Malika B.

Yelp
Dixie Tavern is great - I love that I can go there with friends on a Saturday night and easily find someplace to sit. I love that Dixie Tavern has about 20 beers on draft. I love that you can see really great bands on a weekend night for free. I'm beyond those bars where everyone is packed in like sardines and you have to elbow your way to the front of the bar to order a drink. It's also great to find a place where you haven't spent 20 bucks (parking + cover charge) before you even make it inside the door. The crowd seems to be a mix of young (early 20s) and those in their mid 30s. Around 10:30 the band went on, and I was surprised at just how good they were. The band played music from the 90s - Fuel, Better than Ezra, etc, etc. The have Blue Moon, Stella, Newcastle, and many other good beers on draft. Food is ok, but I would eat somewhere else first.
google avatar

Charisse M.

Yelp
For me, this place is just okay. I live close by so it's convenient but definitely not my first choice for fun and hanging (you can also smoke anywhere inside if that influences your decision). They get pretty crowded on the weekends when they have bands, however the cover charge in my opinion is really not even worth it. I was told last time I went there that the bands come up with the cover charge, not them. Umm... I don't know about you but it's a recession (still?) and I will gladly decline paying $10 a head for a band that I've never even heard of when there are plenty of free options elsewhere. There are free nights but in my opinion it's not really even hoppin' enough for me to wanna go in there. I have also been here for lunch and although I've only ever ordered one menu item (house salad with grilled chicken I think), it was pretty good food. The inside is just okay (tables, bar, and pool tables) and they also have an outdoor patio. I would go back for eating to try other fares but as far as "partying" there are definitely my "rathers."

Yelp
Great service. Fun to go there to mingle and listen to music and do karaoke on tuesday nights.. also very good food! Come out and try for yourself! Carl runs the karaoke booth there every tuesday night starting around 9pm

Yelp
I go for lunch at least once a week - I won't say what day because word is getting out and the place has been packed for the half-price lunch specials! One thing that sucks - chances are you will go back to the office smelling like smoke since it's 21+.. Surprisingly good meatball sandwich (apparently the owner makes them from scratch), I believe it because it's the most unexpectedly good sandwich at a dive bar like this. I've probably had almost every sandwich on the menu and you can't go wrong - above par food and you have to get the tater tots! I've gone out at night, only con is the music can be a little over the top - it's a small location and it gets crazy loud. Head out on the patio and listen to the music from there and enjoy the decent beer selection they offer on tap.

Yelp
This is a great Pub environment with a live band and other activities most every day. They have a good menu and good food with great service. They also have a great choice of draft beers.

Yelp
My husband and I went there last Saturday afternoon to watch the Georgia Game. When we walked in there was nobody sitting at the bar. 3 employees were at the bar playing UNO. When we walked in the girl that served us looked mad because she had customers. She came over to us and had a horrible attitude. She took our drink order and took as long as possible getting us our drinks. She checked on us once but had an attitude the whole time. We had planned on eating there and watching the whole Georgia game but we ended up leaving after we finished our drink. The service was HORRIBLE I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
This is a fun place to go. It is VERY VERY loud. I could barely talk to the people sitting next to me at the bar. Great beer and drink selection, and reasonably priced. Both times I've been there it was country music, which isn't really my bag. The people that work there are nice enough though. The bartender did give me a hard time when I requested a shot of "the cheapest crappiest tequila you've got" though (I had a really long day and needed something to kick me in the head). Crowd is very diverse. Lots of fun. Definitely the best bar I've found so far in the Windy Hill/Cobb Pkway vicinity.

Yelp
From what I remember the the food was right on and the band playing was kick ass. Will definitely return when sober to provide a more accurate review.

Yelp
I've gone here plenty of times; my roommate may as well start picking up his mail there. Live music nightly, good specials.. (Half price food Thursdays IIRC). Never had a bad waitress there, everyone's friendly and it's a great bar. I will say that it's distinctly two bars, though. Before the music starts at night, it's a quiet place. Once the music fires up, it gets loud and sometimes crowded. I kind of like the effect.. no need to bar hop, when the bar hops for you. The food is good... most of my guilty pleasures are here. If you want something fried, it's probably on the menu. If it's not, then ask and they'll probably come up with a solution for you. Several great Cajun entrees. I'll see you there!

Yelp
This place is dark and dingy but the food was very good and great prices. We had a quick lunch stop and were gone in 30 minutes. Give it a try.
