Djemila Museum, Algeria
The Djemila Museum is an archaeological museum located in the ancient city of Djemila (Cuicul), in the province of Setif, Algeria. This Roman city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was an important Roman settlement from the 1st to 3rd centuries. The museum displays artifacts unearthed during excavations by French archaeologists in the early 1900s. Its collection includes mosaics, sculptures, ceramics, objects of daily life and architectural remains. The exquisite mosaics from Roman villas are particularly striking. Djemila is one of the best examples of Roman urban planning and art in North Africa. The museum was established to preserve this rich heritage and present it to visitors.
