Very nice but highly expensive for TWO SUIT jackets. 110 dollars for altering…altering just the sleeves.

I went in to have some jeans tailored, they were a little baggy around the thigh and calf. The shop is organized and lovely. After talking through a couple of different options and cost, I settled on adding a seam down the back of the legs from the back pockets to the hem. The fitting process took about half an hour. They were ready to pick up in less than a week and fit perfectly. I highly recommend a visit if you’re looking for good honest customer service.

Google
The service was great the only draw back for me was the lack of communication & honesty. I took my shapewear in, put it on and explained my desires of what I was wanting and she chalked it in all areas of my concern and i took it off, left it and was told to pick up in a week. I picked up and there was a chalked area of my concern that was not done and I wasn’t happy with my request. After putting on the garment in the facility after pickup to show her my concerns she then tells me my garment is not the right material for her to make the alterations of my request. What bothered me was that she didn’t state that when I tried it on for her while she chalked it for alterations to address my concerns and asked for her $fees up front before I left my garment with her. I explained to her for future reference state your concerns to your customers before you take their money not afterwards because my garment is the same material when I brought it in as the same when I picked it up and then you claim it can’t be altered to my liking after I picked up. Not very good customer service at that point especially if you have my contact number on the alterations ticket and not call to voice your concerns prior to making alterations you felt I’d be pleased with without my authorization. For that reason I can’t, won’t and will not recommend this company!

Google
I really didn't want to give them one star but they earned it because the one lady was nice however they tried to get over on me. I took my son pants to get a simple hem they were a bit to long the lady said 25 dollars just for hem. I initially paid for it but went to a cleaners and they said we can take those pants up and press them for like ten dollars. So I called back not even 15min after I left they said well we already started so it'll be 5 dollars. What they did was take the original hem out of some brand new 90 dollar pants plus they were full with lint when I got them back. Long story less long I wont be returning and it was pretty shiesty.

Ever since I lost a considerable amount of weight, I have found it very difficult to find clothes that fit me well. I am a 5’11” female with, now a small waist, larger hips and of course, very tall. They have altered most of my clothes with speed and professionalism. I give them four stars because they can be a little pricey. But, I will also say that if they feel you are spending too much, they will tell you to buy new clothes.

Google
I brought a uniform in and they charged $30 to remove and sew two patches. It took a week (which I can understand if they are busy) and then (my fault) I didn’t verify the patches were sewn on correctly and of course I get home and they were upside down. I will never bring anything here again.

Google
my dress was too big , we did a pin up to make it tighter on me. The woman asked me was it tight enough and I replied by saying no. It was still very lose in many areas. She replied by telling me that I needed to go buy a smaller sized dress. ma’am don’t you think I know that? why you think I’m up here trynna get it altered? for fun? anyways I went somewhere is and they did it exactly how I wanted made it VERY tight for me.

Yelp
Loved my alterations! I came in a week before my prom and they got it done just in time! I had gotten my straps fixed, a bit of my train removed & bigger bra pads! They really made sure that the dress they were going to fix complimented my body! Although the price is expensive, the quality on the work is worth it!

Yelp
I was referred by a trusted friend only to be 120% disappointed in the outcome. This place is not worth their astronomical pricing. Paid nearly $500 for my wedding dress to be altered just to have half of it rip and come apart. The extra material that i paid to have taken away? Nope she left it all there tacky and just zero care in her work. HORRIBLE WORK AND ZERO COMMUNICATION AT ALL. OVERPRICED NOT WORTH IT ONE BIT. My dress never even fit me properly. It was still way too big. So why exactly did i pay you all that money again? Oh right because weddings are a scam for you people to scam on. DO NOT GET ANYTHING DONE HERE

Yelp
They always hit their mark and everything is ready when they say it will be. Excellent alteration services from shortening dresses, repairing seams and hemming pants.

Yelp
Best place in the city for alterations. I moved from the Cordova area and still drive all the way back out there because she is that good! Especially with jeans. She can shorten and put the original hem back on making them look exactly like they were when you bought them! I take all my alteration needs here.

Yelp
I needed a bridesmaid dress tailored for a wedding. They were super sweet and gave great, but realistic advice on what they could do in the amount of time I had (less than 2 weeks). Ended up getting some of the bodice taken in on the sides of the chest area and around my rib cage as well as about half an inch of hemming. It was ready EARLY and when I tried it on in the store it was like a whole new dress! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
This is my go-to place when anyone in our family needs an alteration. Quick turn-around time and reasonable prices!!!!

Yelp
I should have done more research before allowing them to get my business. I paid $140 to taper the legs on two pairs of pants. Way too much in my opinion , especially for them to make me prepay and they only take cash. It took 15 days for my pants to be ready. When I got them back and tried them on they were not to my liking at all. I literally found another tailor the NEXT DAY after I dropped my pants off here who was a lot quicker, so much cheaper, and actually did what I asked and a lot better quality. Orhan's Alterations and Tailoring. Use them. I Would never recommend DK's to anyone

Yelp
Quality work for a high price. Five star work and in-store service, but I'm giving overall four stars for high price and relatively long turnaround time. I took in four pairs of jeans to be hemmed because they were long in the leg. I tried on every pair for her and she made the marks on where to cut in the mirror. She charged $20 for keeping original hem and $14 for a replacement hem. I chose the original hem and am satisfied with my choice. I dropped them off as she closed Tuesday and picked them up the next Wednesday. Apparently she gives everyone a week, but I overheard her tell a lady with a Halloween costume she could charge a premium for a rushed-service free. Paid with check.

Yelp
I have used DKTailors for years. They have altered suits, shirts and dresses and I have been very pleased. Turn around time is one week.

Yelp
This shop is a complete rip off! We needed three patches on my husband's uniform, they told us it would be $45, that he had to pay for it in cash (no signs saying cash only anywhere mind you), that it wouldn't be ready for a week, and that they needed him to show them exactly where he wanted the patches. Another shop only charged $15 and had it done in a few days.

Yelp
What a rip-off. I paid over $60 to do a basic hem on 5 pairs of pants and they don't even press the pants and they bundle all 5 pairs on to 2 hangers. The pants were not even pressed. Never again. save your money go some place else.

Yelp
I'm in love with this shop. I wasn't sure when we dropped our items off last week, but it's official-I won't go anywhere else for alterations. Let me get the couple reasons this is only a four-star review out of the way. First-the alterations were a little expensive compared to what I'm used to: $13 for a straight forward hem on pants and $20 to keep the original hem on jeans. Second-you pay when you drop your items off, and they don't take debit/credit cards-just cash or check. Third-everything takes a week. Everything. OK, now to why I love this place. Most importantly, all our items were well done. We dropped off a variety of things-jeans, scrub pants, and a hoodie that needed a pocket repaired. They were all perfect. What I was most impressed with was that when we walked in, I was nervous because I had forgotten our ticket at home. It didn't matter, because the lady who had taken in all our items and measured everything for us remembered us as soon as we walked in and went right to our items the minute she saw us. With super friendly service and high quality work like that, I'm willing to pay a little extra (cash) and just be patient for my clothes.

Yelp
This tailoring shop is superb. The store employee was very helpful, polite and delivered my altered jacket on time I highly recommend in this business if you need clothing repaired or altered!

Yelp
They did a great job on altering my bridesmaid's dress for my sister wedding. It was very affordable--$38, and the salesperson was very friendly.

Yelp
I've had several dresses altered here, and they all came out great, as well as the boyfriend's sport coats. As with most tailors, English is a challenge, but just try stuff on, point out the problems, and they'll take it from there. I only have two issues with DK -- the turnaround for all my stuff has been a week, which seems like a long time (or maybe I'm just impatient...), and they're way the heck out in Germantown...far, far away from my usual stomping grounds. So two round trips, one to drop off and one to pick up, is a bit of a pain, especially since I can only make it out there on weekends. If they were just closer to Midtown, I would be all over this place. But alas...it's only worth the trip for my really special items.

Yelp
I've been taking my clothes here for the last 8-10 years. They are the best in the business. I've had everything from jeans, skirts, dress pants to formal dresses done and everything is ALWAYS perfect. Friendly owners and dedicated professionals. Definitely the place to go for any and all tailoring.

Yelp
This is the woman who does alterations for The Limited at Wolfchase Mall. I only discovered DK Tailoring because Limited card holders receive free hemming services. Apparently, the pin (to mark length) fell out of my jeans in transit from the store to the tailor. The woman at DK Tailoring called me to let me know and to ask if I could come in so she could re-pin them. This was about 20 minutes before they closed for the evening. I live on Mud Island (which is a minimum of 35 minutes away under the best circumstances). I explained this to her, and she said that she would wait for me anyways. And she did! She was also done hemming them the next day! She was very kind, very professional, highly accommodating, and did great work! The turnaround time was incredible. The same day I purchased the pants at The Limited, I took other pants to my former tailor to be hemmed. I got the pants back from The Limited 3 days before I got my other pants from the other guy... And they had to cart them to and from the store/tailor. Guess who my new tailor is.
