"Downtown Rochester has welcomed new Italian haunt D’Marcos in the former Rojo Mexican Bistro Space on S Main Street, with room for 200. Expect a solid selection of antipasti, alongside meat and seafood — it’s open for dinner only for now." - Brenna Houck

Hosted my sisters baby shower this weekend, Mark the owner was amazing to work with and prompt with planning. He was readily available for any questions and adjustments to the menu. Prices for the food and room were very reasonable. We chose a buffet style and did pasta and pizza with a mimosa bar. Pizza was made and served fresh so it was never cold, and was incredibly flavorful. Staff was attentive in serving drinks, cleaning up plates as well as adjusting tables during our setup. Pam was attentive lovely host and made sure everything ran smoothly. For ANY event you may need I would highly suggest booking here. The food was spectacular, atmosphere sophisticated and overall a wonderful experience. Will be back to host all future parties here!

I went out with a bunch of girlfriends for our Christmas dinner! Karen was our waitress and she is the best ever! Yes the food was amazing and drinks were incredible- but Karen was the star. She was one of the girls. She helped us take cute photos, remembered what everyone was drinking, was incredibly kind and caring. We love Karen! Also highly recommend getting the Cesar salad with your meal and the tiramisu martini for dessert!

What a beautiful way to spend a cozy and tasty evening in Rochester. We made a reservation on OpenTable which was easy peasy. We arrived at the reservation at our designated time and were greeted by two friendly hostesses, we were taken to our table in the bar area, which was perfect for viewing all of the fun lights and the activity on the street with the holiday market and shopping shopping. Our server Grace made our night. She explained her favorites, recommended some cocktails (we got Cosmo + espresso martini), placed our order and we were off to the races. We ordered meatballs (super tasty and a very good size for our table), Caesar salad (homemade croutons were fab), chicken Marsala (chicken was cooked to perfection and sauce was amazing), and chicken piccata (double yum). The pacing of courses allowed us to enjoy without being rushed, and the owner Mark came over and asked us how our evening was going which is always a nice touch. Restaurant was so festive and we just had a great night. Next time we go back we’ll have to try one of their wood fire pizzas AND buzz back to the tequila bar. Overall a wonderful place that accommodates groups (acoustics enable you to hear your table mates), couples, friends and kids. We will definitely be back! Thank you Grace, Mark and staff for helping us have a December night to remember.

What an incredible atmosphere, service, and food! We got the fettuccine alfredo, pesto pasta, and pizza! Fettuccine Alfredo is one of my all-time favorite dishes and this is the absolute best I’ve had! Tiramisu is unbelievable! We will be back as it’s my new favorite Italian restaurant in Metro Detroit.

I would have rated this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for the manager Pam. Our server Audrey was amazing!! She really made the night and service for us worth it. The food, drinks and atmosphere were great! Absolutely no complaints there. As for the manager Pam; we called about 30 minutes prior to arriving to the restaurant and asked if they were taking walk ins or if it was by reservation only. The hostess on the phone said that they were doing both reservations and taking walk ins all night. Not even 25 minutes later we arrive and ask to be sat for 2. The manager said with an attitude that it wasn’t possible because they were only doing reservations. We explained to her the phone call we had, then she proceeded to call out the hostess by asking what was said over the phone insinuating that we were lying to her. She then continued with her attitude by saying that she could try to seat us and that there’s a great table we would enjoy over in the back. We were debating leaving once we got sat at our table but once our server came around we decided not to. We explained to our server Audrey what had happened and she apologized about the interaction. She explained that they were slower than expected and were told to start taking walk ins on this certain day, I guess Pam wasn’t informed in their communication. Other than our interaction with her we had an amazing dining experience. I would only go back for Audrey’s service and food if that manager wasn’t there. (We got a lemon cake for free as an apology for the inconvenience that we had with Pam).

The best Italian food I’ve had in ages! The atmosphere was cozy yet still very modern. The wait staff was super kind and attentive. Most of all the food was absolutely amazing! You have to try the pasta, they make it in house and it’s incredible. There are a ton of gluten free options as well, including desserts which is such a refreshing surprise. I will definitely be back.

We had an extremely nice dinner on a Thursday evening. Karen was our waitress and was very helpful with suggesting drinks and dishes. The bread, salad, and appetizers were very great. We had the sausage and peppers appetizer. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli for dinner which was very sweet but yummy. My date had the Mahi which was also very, very good. This was our second time here and everything was great. The restaurant wasn’t busy so it wasn’t loud at all. We didn’t feel rushed and had a very relaxed, enjoyable dinner. We are planning on returning to try their pizza and also a dinner of appetizers and rinks for happy hour! We definitely recommend!

Yelp
12/13/2024, who said Friday the 13th is bad luck? We drove over to Rochester Hills to see the Christmas lights and decided to eat here. Our first time to the area since relocating from Southern California this past summer. The hostess was so kind to seat us up front by the windows overlooking downtown. Our waitress was very friendly, suggested a few dinner options and checked on us regularly. FIRST let me tell you their breadsticks are to die for!!! Although they are baked off site at a local Italian bakery and brought in daily we simply didn't care. Calamari w/jalapeño peppers was our choice for an appetizer and it was prepared perfectly! My husband had Vodka pasta w/shrimp and red wine for a drink and I opted for the lasagna w/Diet Coke and lemon which was delicious as well. Afterwards we walked the downtown to check, out the variety of shops and restaurants along with the colorful Christmas lights.

Yelp
Staff was pleasant, although made a reservation and noted we were celebrating a birthday and it was never mentioned by the staff. At an Italian restaurant when you order a bottle of wine for $37 I would expect at least a corked bottle not a twist off. I looked up the bottle and it is available for $7.99 at total wine retail. So they probably paid $5 for it from the distributor?? Felt very ripped off at that point. Food was good. Although once again three meatballs for an app with nothing else to go with them. Entrees we good, the chicken parm was superior to the gnocchi.

Yelp
We had a very disappointing visit to D'Marcos last night, with a group of friends. Some specifics: The minestrone soup was barely warm when it arrived. By the time the waitress checked in with the table, the entrees were arriving, so it was too late to request that the soup be heated. The house salad was limp with far too much dressing. The smoked provolone pieces mentioned in the salad's description were nowhere to be found. It contained only one-quarter of a single slice of tomato and exactly two beans. Here again, I couldn't request a fix because the waitress did not reappear until the entrees were being set down. While the meat and pasta on the braised short rib entree were very good (albeit just barely lukewarm), the celery and carrots in that dish were cold and raw. Not undercooked. Raw and icy. Pretty stunning for an entree that was priced at $30. Bread wasn't placed on the table until we were almost done with the entrees. The pumpkin pie cheesecake was very tasty, however at $14 for a very small piece, it was vastly overpriced. Entrees for two of the people in my group were completely inedible and had to be sent back. With no beverage, my tab was a whopping $59 before the tip. I wouldn't mind the amount but nothing about this meal justified it. The service wasn't bad but it also wasn't good. Our waitress seemed bored and disinterested. She didn't check in with us. A hostess stopped by the table as we were paying our bill, however that's far too late in the meal for anything to be corrected. In an area with many great places to eat, D'Marcos was a big, expensive disappointment.

Yelp
My friends and I went to D'Marcos for dinner. Our reservation was for 8:00 and the table was ready when we arrived. The restaurant was lovely and had a pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent. She was attentive without being intrusive. We were very pleased with the food. The bread was nice. The calamari was perfectly cooked and our meals were delicious. We had chicken parmesean, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and vodka pasta with shrimp. We all truly enjoyed our meals. I will definitely return.

Jerami K.

Yelp
Grace may be one of the best servers we've ever had. Cheerful, attentive without being intrusive and an absolutely delightful part of the meal. Eggplant parm appetizer is enough for an entree and is delicious- no bitterness, crust was good without being overpowering. Maple butternut squash ravioli was amazing... fettuccine was divine. Nice and quiet atmosphere.

Yelp
I was exploring Rochester and this is a really cute place!! It is quite large so can accommodate many people and they had a lot of staff to ensure diners were well taken care of. Service was excellent! The food was delicious! The bread was very soft although not super warm when it came out, the pizza was a beautiful thin crust pizza. The pasta dish was excellent with great sweet notes. The waitress was able to give amazing recommendations. Overall, I would come here again! It is a little bit on the pricer side but worth it!

Yelp
Celebrating my niece's 24th birthday. D'Marcos is pretty open with a lot seating and a large bar. It was pretty noisy, but you could carry on a conversation. Our server was very nice and made a few recommendations. I opted for the short rib pappardelle and my wife the butternut squash ravioli. The pappardelle was amazing! The meat was very tender and the ragu that accompanied was very flavorful. The ravioli were a little to al dente for her, but the flavor was excellent. I had a glass of an Italian red blend that I absolutely loved! Great meal and I look forward to returning.

Yelp
As a resident of Rochester that began living here when D'Marcos was still Rojo, I have passed by D'Marcos the entire time it has been around in downtown and never gone in. I'm kicking myself now because I finally went last week and had such a ball here! I think from the outside you get the sense that it might be super bougie and upscale, but it's actually so beautifully designed while still feeling cozy and accessible to all. There are walls of wine bottles, different seating areas in almost different "rooms" throughout the restaurant, and the inside just feels so big, open, and inviting! I don't drink wine or any form of alcohol, but you really don't miss it because their food was delicious and affordable! They are probably best known for their pasta, so I'd highly recommend you get something from their pasta section. I got the vodka pasta, which was exactly what I needed. It was only vaguely spicy, which is how I prefer it, and just hit the spot. It doesn't normally come with a protein, so I ordered the calamari from their appetizers section to pair with it. The calamari wasn't the *best*, but it was still super solid and delicious! All in all, the food was so good that I didn't even remember to take pictures of it upon arrival before digging in! A rare occurrence where the phone did NOT eat first!! For dessert, my friend and I split both the Godiva chocolate torte and tiramisu and both were insane! The chocolate torte stole the show, sinfully decadent and the richest chocolate cake I've ever tasted - you NEEEED to try this! The tiramisu did not taste "traditional" in the slightest, but was also somehow super good! The ladyfingers in here needed more time to soak as it came away pretty dry. There was an overwhelming amount of creme layers, which was alarming at first but tasted so good I truly did not mind it. The main issue with the tiramisu was how strong of a flavor the amaretto had. It was POTENT and that's why it could've benefitted from soaking up some coffee of some sort, which was lacking from this dessert. But overall, we were so happy with all of our food! The service was also incredible! We had such a warm and welcoming waiter. She checked in the perfect amount, was super helpful, apologetic when things took a little long (even though we didn't even notice a moment when things took too long to arrive), and just really took the service above and beyond! Thank you D'Marcos! This has easily shot to the top of my list of places I'd recommend to people coming to visit Rochester for a great meal in the heart of downtown Rochester! Love it and will be back very soon!!

Yelp
I loved the warm inviting ambiance. The bar is also beautiful and the tables in the front with the large open windows. The whole place was just lovely. We had a birthday celebration for 4 and we could actually hear each other across the table, unlike other restaurants we almost went to where we had to yell over each other. Tristin who waited on us behind the bar was delightful and made a perfect Manhattan! We moved from the bar to a table and had an amazing dinner. It was so fresh and authentic. Our waitress Grace was wonderful! She got everything right and was very attentive, helpful and pleasant. Great Experience all around! Thank you!

Shane V.

Yelp
Woooow is the only thing I can say. Very upscale vibes, but the prices are great. The drinks are standard pricing. Getting a seat isn't generally hard on the week days, and depending on where you sit you get an amazing view on Main Street. Service is pretty good nothing crazy, but not bad.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Poor excuse for a wood fired neopolitan margarita pizza. Bland and cheese was undercooked

Amanda H.

Yelp
I'm sorry, but you deserve zero for this one this is the lowest quality Italian food we have ever ever had besides the clumpy brick like pasta the two meatballs I got were literally raw inside pink, white, and red. Do BETTER please

Tom S.

Yelp
Thursday evening meal. I ordered an Anti-Pasta salad and it was a little bit of spinach (no lettuce) and thick cut (old) unfresh salami and slice of cheese (that should go in a sandwich), Olives (black & green), cucumbers (which are normally not in this type of salad and not mentioned in the menu) and tomatoes. I ordered Spaghetti with bolognese (meat sauce) and I was served Rotini noodles with marinara sauce. I questioned the server and she claimed that that's spaghetti and meat sauce. I tried it and decided that I didn't want it and sent it back. I ate some of the spinach salad. I picked the cucumbers out because I do not like them. This may be the worst antipasto salad that I have ever been served at what I thought was an Italian restaurant. The bread and the breadsticks were good. And the water (6 glasses) were served without ice. So I ordered a glass of ice to add to my room temperature water. The wine was good. I would not recommend this restaurant. I will not return.

Amy W.

Yelp
Our evening turned into something very different than we planned but as always it turned into something fabulous! Our plan was to just hit a few local breweries. Northing exciting. We were both dressed very casually. But after Stopping into Rochester Mills, our night changed quite a bit! We decided to go to Park 600 which is a favorite of mine. And from there we got to talking about the new speakeasy behind Demarcos and how I haven't been to Demarcos yet. And so our night shifted. I absolutely loved it here. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and sitting at the bar allowed us to get a great view of the Christmas lights twinkling outside. We had a couple of cocktails then moved on to Baus Barber. I can't wait to come back and check out the food! I will absolutely come back as my niece just got a job here! So fun!

Kristina V.

Yelp
Worst Italian restaurant around. Husband ordered a NY strip, I had the Chicken Marsala, and a friend had the Chicken Parm. All of it was disgusting. This place is a joke.

Brandon G.

Yelp
We have really enjoyed the new menu, refresh to the restaurant and what seems like better food, service, and food items. Not to mention a great happy hour when you can take advantage of this. Tonight I had the fettuccini and Italian sausage. This was both spicy and delicious. Noodles felt to be homemade, sauce was vibrant and had great flavor. Sausage had a nice spice and crunch to the skin. Really like the new D'Marcos.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Service was very slow, others around us got food before us and it stemmed like we were forgotten. The inside is very nice though. The antipasto salad was very good. The Brussels sprouts with blue cheese and bacon were average. The meatballs were forgetful and the linguini was not of a clump of pasta, stuck together without form. You could tell the pasta was homemade, but the food had sat too long to be decent. The pasta had little sauce as well. Would go back for the salad, but that's about it. Definitely not worth the price.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The ambience here is truly beautiful and excellent. I had a window seat and loved people watching. A beautiful bar is right in the middle of the restaurant. This place is both romantic and cozy. I was a tad disappointed with the service. Our reservations for 2 were at 5:00, right when the restaurant opened. I stood outside in the cold staring forlornly at the host as he proceeded to either ignore me or turn a blind eye to the locked door. My husband who had dropped me off, aghast that I was still waiting outside in the dead of winter, called the restaurant while parking the car. When he told whoever picked up the phone that the restaurant doors were locked and it was past opening time, the person proceeded to say "oh crap, hold on!" And then abruptly hung up the phone on him. Then the host came out with a screwdriver and unlocked the door, turned on his heels, and walked back inside. No apologies, didn't even open the door and acknowledge me, or look in my direction. How awkward was that! A bit miffed by being completely overlooked, I opened the door and followed him inside. Where he proceeded to not look.up from his host stand and say "good evening, welcome". It was so weird. I mean...not even a smile or eye contact. When I told him about our reservations, he nodded and grabbed some menus without looking at me. At this point I see my husband out on the sidewalk about to enter the restaurant and I verbally say..."oh! My husband is just walking up just now!!" He walks in and we turn around and the host had just left us and went to our table without us! My husband even asked me if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Apparently the host did not seem to care that I wasn't following him or turned to look that no one was with him. Mind you, we were the first and ONLY people at the restaurant at this time. At this point I was feeling a bit unwelcomed. No one was rude or anything, it just felt that we were encroaching on their space and I felt a bit disregarded. Our waitress was really professional so no complaints there. I wanted a mock tail so she recommended the Vivien without alcohol. It was delicious! Still, no one, including our waitress, was smiling and all the staff seemed to be pretty cool and distant. Like we were dining at a place where all the staff just didn't care about the customers and were there just to be there. I can't help but wonder if something happened right before opening that put everyone in a bad mood. I guess I'll never know. It was a bit weird. The food was okay! My husband's old fashion was strong. I definitely recommend the Vivien as a mocktail if youre looking for a nonalcoholic drink. The Margherita pizza was subpar so I don't recommend that. My fruit of the sea pasta had absolutely delicious seafood. I cannot stress how well the seafood was prepared, especially the shrimp and squid. They did not skimp out on the seafood either. I think the pasta would have been even more delicious with lemon and more herbs. My husband's lasagna was very very good. Highly recommend. Bread comes with olive oil and fresh herbs, which was delicious. They had a nice dessert menu but we were too stuffed. Overall it's a good Italian restaurant but I prefer palazzo de bocce.

Kaylee C.

Yelp
Italian restaurant with a cozy and classic atmosphere. The bread is soft and luscious, the sauces have robust flavor, and the service is great! This Italian staple boasts a gorgeous location and excellent history. A perfect place to take the family. The only reason this isn't a 5 star for me is the linguine I ordered to go was frankly, terrible. The sauce and the toppings were fantastic, however, the pasta was crazy overdone. The linguine simply shredded in the fork when you tried to spin some up. I'm forgiving in that the pasta is likely fresh so a gold star for attempted quality, but I can't help but report the linguine was so overcooked that it was tossed. Otherwise! D'Marcos is really worth the trip, the eggplant Parmesan and lasagna was super tasty.

Meagan R.

Yelp
Awesome happy hour, the appetizers were great, the jalapeños with the calamari were super spicy but a great touch, the martini was dirty, and the pasta wasn't over cooked. Also probably the biggest piece of chicken served with the chicken parm that I had seen. The manager was very present and stopped to chat with us. Will definitely be back for happy hour!

Dave D.

Yelp
Rude, rude, rude...was the owner. Walked in and asked for a table (4) and were told reservations only despite 4-6 tables being open for 3 hours. Even asked a second time while we sat at the bar and the owner advised the bar tender to NOT allow us to take a table. Not a good example of a friendly Rochester restaurant.

Peyton S.

Yelp
This place was excellent. Huge portions and great food. Service was okay, nothing bad, just slow. The vibe was good and the manager came and checked in with all the tables.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
We had a Christmas party here. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was fantastic. Tables set with white linen. Nicely decorated for the season. Our server was very attentive and on her game.

Jason P.

Yelp
This place puts the D in Marcos! As a residente of the city known as the Rochester. I have seen many a restaurant come and go. First it was an Andiamos steakhouse, then a Rojo Mexican place (also owned by Andiamo group) then it transformed into the Italian Mecca known as the D. Marcos. You make a the meatball, you make a the pizza, you getta the meatball and pizza! My favorite thing here is the pasta, penne anyone! I enjoy walking into the D and exclaiming "bring me the cannoli". To which the host person says yes sir! Just kidding, but would it be cool if that actually happened! Wine list is solid, a bottle of red? A bottle of white?? Well it just depends on your appetite! I'll meet you anytime you want in this Italian restaurant!

Sj I.

Yelp
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! Thank you for making our bridal shower so elegant. The decor, the natural light, and beautiful bar only added to a storybook day for our family. Bridget, the Event Coordinator, was extremely attentive and made sure everything was perfect. All of our guests had nothing but raves about the day! Thank you DMarcos! A+

Yelp
Have a reservation for 7:45pm. Next one is at 8:15pm. We are on our way there, so no sweat. Jessie is waiting on us tonight. Ben's helping her out too. Ordered the char grilled chicken pizza for our app, balsamic chicken, upgraded to a dinner house salad and broccolini and a chicken Parmesan with Caesar salad and broccolini. The breadsticks aren't bad, rather salty though, but flavorful. Big salt crystals on the sticks, easy to scrape off at least. No fresh ground pepper up in here, that makes no sense to me at all. The house salad is good, dressing is quite nice too. The chicken Parmesan is so-so. Not for me. It was rather rubbery to me. The balsamic chicken isn't what I was thinking, the sauce tastes more like a muted worchestershire, but buttered down. The chicken was skin on and fatty too and bone-in, a la brick chicken. I was expecting some tartness from the balsamic, but it's just buttery brown sauce to me. The chicken is nicely cooked and moist. So full. The tiramisu has the Godiva chocolate torte, too bad it's not a Godiva chocolate ganache. Oh well. No dessert for me tonight. Jessie was good to us. Food was okay, salad was my favorite part of the meal. Bill was $64.66.

Patrick S.

Yelp
The service was very good; however, the food seemed a bit average considering the amount that was charged. Some items were overly seasoned, while others lacked seasoning. I ordered the piccata and I believe that the brine from artichoke hearts may have been the culprit...most likely did not get a good rinse, making the dish extremely salty. I'm a lover of salt and I had to send it back, as they were happy to remake the dish. The second order was just as salty. The cocktails were a bit smaller than what I am used to seeing, especially, the Martinis. Apparently, they use a smaller sized martini glass.

Auralia H.

Yelp
The pasta was so saucy and loaded with Italian sausage and peppers. The sausage was a little spicy, which we really liked! The portion was big and we were able to share it. Just wish the pasta was cooked al dente! Usually, I'm not that into the dipping oils that come out with the bread, but we loved this garlic oil! We really had a nice time, enjoyed the wine and sitting in the bar area.

Sarah D.

Yelp
Co-hosted a shower today at the restaurant and everything was absolutely fabulous. Food, service, restaurant, drinks were all top notch! Would highly recommend!

Blake S.

Yelp
Have eaten here several times and normally very enjoyable. That changed on our visit Saturday February 24th. My wife is celiac and ordered Chicken Scarpariello and side salad. The salad was literally nothing but a bowl of lettuce. No onion, no tomatoes, no cucumber no smoked provolone- literally a bowl of greens. By the time server came back she had the entrees so too late to get the salad fixed. The entree looked like one chicken breast cut in half and pounded down and each piece maybe 2 inches by 2 inches in size and had one slice of pepper. Also no chef's vegetable as stated on menu. The dish was nothing close to the menu description. Extremely disappointing especially when it's $26.00. Again, by the time we could get anyone back to the table the others had finished their meals so we didn't bother asking for anything more. Not sure what happened because the food and service used to be fantastic. Side note for those with celiac, the menu states several dishes can be made gluten free including linguine with meatballs, however the meatballs are not gluten free so be sure to confirm with the kitchen on what is safe to order.

Aaron E.

Yelp
Table for one at my first try at D'Marcos. The made fresh daily pasta was excellent. The espresso martini was also remarkable. I was told it's made with real espresso and I could definitely taste it. I am definitely coming back and would recommend.

Tamara M.

Yelp
Had a date with my husband here and sat on high top table with a street view which was nice! The server was very nice and knowledgeable of the menus and made sure to explain some things about the menus! The appetizers were sausage and peppers and crispy Brussels sprouts, both were really good! The sauce of the sausage and peppers was like a homemade sauce that was so rich and delicious! The Brussels sprouts were crispy and with a nice kick of blue cheese and bacon! I had the shrimp gemeli which was really good and the tomato sauce was delish! My husband had the tenderloin with linguine which also was delish he finished the whole plate but I do have couple of comments and that's why I am giving 4 and not 5! My husband asked for a medium tenderloin and got a well done (still tender just not medium) and they only had one option of rose wine and it wasn't all that good! But overall, a good experience, and would go back again

Lily S.

Yelp
Best Margarita Pizza EVER!!!! Best wait staff as well. Ambiance of restaurant is so cozy and inviting. Their pizza bar is my favorite!

Sherita W.

Yelp
We had a date night! Yayyyy and we decided on Italian and we wanted to try something new. We love to support local businesses and this was a great option. The weather has been rainy and this day it rained a lot and then it was chilly out so we didn't sit on the patio but that would've been my first option. We had calamari to start I had the Mahi Mahi and my hubby had the chicken Alfredo. Everything tasted fresh and I absolutely loved the house salad and homemade vinaigrette.

Mike M.

Yelp
After hearing about their new pizza ovens, and redesigned layout, we had to stop in. Pizza was fantastic, it was definitely a large pie, and it was nicely priced. Authentic Italian for sure. Had the meatball appetizer and a house salad which were both very good. Service was very good, and we will definitely go back again.

Michelle S.

Yelp
The atmosphere fits any occasion. Service and staff are wonderful and never been disappointed with food.

Tom A.

Yelp
Amazing wood-fired thin crust Margarita pizza...probably the best I've had. Super friendly staff and great hostess. House salad was tasty as well. Great place and highly recommended.

Yelp
It was a very hit and miss dinner. Our server was nice, but not friendly and was very slow to get to our table. We started with the calamari. The calamari itself, the breading had no flavor. But the marinara sauce that came with it tasted very good. My wife had the soup, which tasted like it was straight out of a can. I had the antipasto salad, which was fantastic. My wife ordered chicken piccata, which was average at best. I ordered filet mignon, and it tasted great and was cooked perfectly. However the zip sauce was very salty. Both of our mains came with the chef's vegetable of the day, which was squash. The flavor was good, but it was super oily. The restaurant itself was decorated well, but we did have a wait despite having a reservation.

Yelp
We hadn't been here for a year but our last visit was very good. This one, however, which we chose to celebrate my birthday. left much to be desired. The service was fine - nothing special but adequate. The calamari was mostly tentacles instead of rings. The caesar salad was not the dark romaine as is the ordinary but yellow/light leaves. No cracked pepper was offered. My husband's veal was just okay - one slice was tender and one was on the tough side. My twin tenderloins of beef were tender but extremely salty The asparagus was good. We should have known by the availability of tables when we arrivred - there were many. This restaurant/chef needs to step up to compete with the fine restaurants in Rochester.

Yelp
I went here for a date because it looked romantic and the food appeared good. The place was very cute but unfortunately where we sat (corner table by window and door) had a spot light over our table. We asked if they could dim it and they didn't. Which definitely took out all the romance out from our dinner atmosphere. The food was good, but not out of this world delicious. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. I had higher expectations. I don't know why it was just ok. I don't know if it was missing fresh herbs or salt. No clue. The veggies and protein in dish tasted fresh and good quality but the flavor was a tad bland. The music was also too low, we could hear the table next to us louder than the music. The services very very good though. I'm rating this place 3.8.

Yelp
Do NOT go on a weekend. It's a trainwreck. The idiot hostess told us to wait at the bar for the table we had reservations and never came to get us. Fortunately the bartender who was swamped took very good care of us. The food was decent.

Yelp
This is the worst Italian restaurant in Michigan. I ordered fruits of the sea pasta and my husband ordered shrimp scampi. Both were so terrible. First, the pasta is terrible. It is soggy and doesn't have any bounce or chewiness to it. The pasta tastes more like soggy flour noodle instead. Second, our dishes were super bland. There was no flavor. Third, I found a small plastic piece in my pasta. I will not be returning.

Yelp
Way overcooked pasta. To the point of soggy. second time we tried this place. Never going back.

Yelp
Not the greatest Italian spot, nothing really left an impression on me. I tried the calamari, lasagna, eggplant Parmesan (which was the best thing I tried), a few different pasta dishes, and the tiramisu. Service was normal, nothing special. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and busy so we waited long periods of time, but he was polite. I do however like the ambiance here. It's decorated beautifully and clean. I would recommend this place for enjoying a glass of wine with a friend.

Yelp
I came here with a party of 4 on a Monday night in December around 7:15. I didn't anticipate needing a reservation but as I was looking on Yelp, I saw I could book one on open table so I did just to be safe. December in Rochester on any night of the week is busy because everyone flocks to the lights. When I arrived, every table was full so thankfully I made the reservation. We even had to wait a couple minutes for the table to be ready. They have a couple big cozy chairs for people to wait in before they are seated but the setup was a little weird because the chairs were right across from people eating. If the place was busier than it was I can imagine that area might be even more uncomfortable. Once we were seated, our waitress Marissa greeted us shortly and we were given 2 crunchy breadsticks and 4 slices of bread with olive oil. Doesn't really seem like enough bread but whatever. We ordered drinks, which took about 20 minutes to arrive. While we were waiting for our drinks, we ordered our meals which surprisingly came with soup or salad! I originally ordered the minestrone soup with my pasta because the menu said it came with tomato broth. The waitress said it was cooked with chicken broth, which confused me. Is it tomato or chicken broth? I don't eat meat so it's kinda important to me for menus/servers to say the same thing. Drinks came and 3 out of the 4 of us ordered wine. My boyfriend's wine was poured way shorter than the others and the waitress noticed immediately said she would get some more, which she did. However, I still don't think he got a full glass... At 8:15, our soup and salads arrived. We had already been there for an hour and the first part of our meal had just arrived. The house salad was absolutely delicious. It included shredded carrots, onions, crumbled cheese, tomato, cucumber and mixed greens. The dressing was simple but pretty good. My father and boyfriend both enjoyed their soup as well! 8:30 rolls around and our dinner has finally arrived. I ordered the December special which was ziti with vodka sauce and my choice or chicken or shrimp. I chose the shrimp, as I do eat seafood. The food was absolutely delicious! However, my father's girlfriend ordered the stuffed shells which came with her choice of sauce but it came with the wrong sauce. She was so hungry and didn't want to wait any longer that she just ate it anyways. Once we were done eating, Marissa brought the check. It took her a while to actually come pick it up though and the whole group was definitely ready to go. It had been nearly 2 hours since we sat down. Overall, the food was great but the speed needs to improve. We were watching our waitress rush around the entire evening and never saw another waitress. She must've had at least 20 tables in her section, which seems really unfair to her. It was super busy in there and everyone seemed to be waiting a long time for food. The restaurant just needs more staff to make things run quicker! This place has potential!

Yelp
These guys get an A for effort and a C- for execution. Came here with 5 friends on a Saturday night, during the Light festival and the market. We did have 8pm reservations. When we arrived they told us there where no empty tables, that people 'just weren't leaving'. After a few minutes the manager decided to take 2 high top tables that weren't normally used for dining and put them together by the entryway somewhat in the way of things. But, hey, he got us seated. Service was a bit scattered since they were so busy, but we eventually got our orders in, bread was brought after asking a few times, drinks showed up, but everything was a bit chaotic to accomplish that. After an hour + had gone by the manager stopped by to tell us we could now move to a table behind us in the window if we wanted to. We did. Everything got moved and we continued our meal. The food was very good and generous portions, I had a take out bag. I got a meat ravioli with a bolognese sauce, other items were chicken parm, veal parm, shrimp w/fettucine. Everyone said their food was delicious. Salads and bread were sides. Had to ask for at least one side dish that was forgotten. The decor was very pretty, they've done a nice job with the updating. At the end of our meal the manager came over and said he was going to provide a treat because of the wait and the table. He brought everyone a snifter of a liquour, each glass had at least 2 shots in it. Nice gesture, but we'd all had 2 drinks each by then, plus one in our party is a non-drinker, so it was a weird touch without checking with us first. We thanked him and laughed about it later. All in all, I'd give it another go, probably just not on such a busy night.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Would I be back, definitely. The sub star rating comes mainly from our server, unfortunately. I think with a different person assisting they'd have a solid 4.5 or 5 star. Great wine list! Great menu options! I got one of the March specials, the chicken caprese. My mom got the veil and my dad the balsamic chicken. All for Caesar salads to start. Meals were truly delicious, and were packed with flavor. The balsamic chicken had a great crust to it that really sealed in the flavor. My chicken caprese was bursting with basil (which I loveeee). A few wines were tried and none disappointed. Vibe was wonderful. It felt very 1920's era and lived in, in a good way. We later learned they've only been open a year... they are doing a phenomenal job of making the place feel homey. If you are ever in Rochester please check this spot out. You won't regret it!

Yelp
We started off with the baked eggplant. Which was super good flavor and tenderness. I then got the fettuccine Alfredo with added mushrooms, that the nice waitress accommodated for. It was perfectly thick and creamy. My friends got the caesar salad and the dressing was fantastic. The service and food was a 10/10.

Yelp
Horrible service and experience. My husbands dinner came after everyone was already finished with their meal and it was severely undercooked. Moreover we were overcharged for food we never received. Server and owner were unapologetic regarding the experience and we will definitely never return nor recommend this restaurant.
