DMV EMPANADAS GAITHERSBURG

I went there on the Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t too busy. I ordered only plantains and it was delicious and cooked in a record time. The staff was respectful and friendly ; they had a large selection of empanadas. And i really like the atmosphere. Also they had some very good sauces. It tastes natural and homemade.

Today was my first time having empanadas and visiting DMV empanadas and everything was amazing. I got four {ate one before taking the picture lol} -Shrimp old bay (8/10) -chicken saltenas (10/10) my favorites -cheeseburger (8/10) -masaco empanada (9/10) my favorites I’ll be back this weekend for more because I’m officially obsessed.

First time here. Very flavorful with appealing chewing texture. Best Empanadas I've had. ❤️

This restaurant is awesome. Their staff is extremely and I mean extremely polite friendly. They care about their customers and they make sure that the restaurant is very clean when I first walked in this restaurant. I could smell the spices and food from Outside there is also a place where you can eat outside. I had to use the bathroom and I thought I was in a five star hotel restroom. I recommend the empanadas to anybody who hasn’t tried them. I will continue to go back. thank you for your excellent customer service

Live around the Germantown, Rockville and Gaithersburg area!? Want GOOD empanadas?! This is the place! 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. Ordered 3 empanadas ( $14 ) and the best one was between chicken or beef! Flavorful and crispy! Fresh ingredients and just the right amount of everything! The steak and cheese wasn’t the best but was ok! SUPER FRESH AND HOT! 2. The price is a pretty good and relatively affordable! 3. Quantity is plentiful and 2 empanadas made me full. 4. Customer service provided were nice folks. Fast service 5. Nice variety of sweet and savory! They also serve full on entrees such as Loma saltado and more!

Yum yum yum . I had the pleasure today to eat so local empanadas. Clean oil the meat has flavor and the dough is soft and sweet . Everything was good . Im definitely coming back for more ! Take out order Rate 10/10

I had the spinach empanadas and Omgggg! It was soooo good! Also, I don't usually like sauce, however the spicy sauce was really good! This is a hidden gem! There was a lady working when I went in there. Super sweet and helpful. I am going back today after work!

So it was our first time coming staff was nice but food was not as great what we expected i feel like they could’ve done a lil better and they didn’t give us any utensils on the go or napkins should’ve checked ,for our rice or tres leches . Plus i ask for sauce and all they gave us was a sample sauce lol barely any sauce to dip the chiccharon lol. So idk tbh iv tasted better but empanadas are not it same taste as the frozen ones. 🤷‍♀️

I was walking around the Mosaic District Farmer's Market and noticed a pretty healthy line at this stand. When I approached, you saw they only focused on one item ... Empanadas. And they had quite a variety. Since it was still early in the day, I opted for a bacon, egg, and cheese. I took my first bite ... and it was quite tasty. All the ingredients had melted together in the interior, but everything was well composed with the shell of the empanada. And the size was perfect. Just big enough to get a strong sample of their product, but not too large that prevented me from trying other foods at the market. I will be back to try some more!

Was not good, we tried 4 different empanadas and only liked the one, the Chicken Pesto was VERY good. Ground Beef Empanada, the beef is not seasoned at all. The Shrimp Old Bay Empanada was watery, as soon as we bit into it everything oozed out and no flavor/seasoning nor old bay. The Steak & Cheese were just ok, needed more seasoning. I LOVE empanadas, I can breakdown the best empanadas in this area (#3 Pollo campero, #2 Sardi's/Picca and the best #1 is Don Pollo) prove me wrong! We thought a place that specializes in Empanada's would have the best, we were soooo wrong. The crust wasn't what it should have been, some were undercooked inside.

I came in last week to grab empanadas for my wife and mom. My mom has 80 years plus of eating empanadas. My wife is fairly new to empanadas. I grew up eating them too. I found the chicken and beef empanadas good. I wouldn't say great though. The staff were friendly and quick. I ordered and had my food in 5-minutes. I did think that the empanadas were a bit overpriced. Now this shouldn't be a huge knock. I don't live in the area and it's more expensive than where I live. I had takeout so I can't really comment too much on ambiance. It was rather empty and seemed like a place to order and go.

I saw another long line at this stand and decided to try it. They had a huge variety of different empanadas to choose from. We chose a couple and thought they were great! The shell was nice and flakey, but also not too thick. My favorite was definitely the classic beef, full of tender beef in a savory juice. Definitely a bit pricey but a cool stand nonetheless. I found out about this empanada spot by going to the farmers market last year. So glad they opened up a store in Gaithersburg! I really enjoy their empanadas! They're always stuffed with lots of filling and the shell is soft and fluffy. I have tried their chicken, cheese burger, and steak and cheese empanadas. Also comes with their house made sauce. You can take out or eat there (not a lot of tables/chairs). Service is good! Check this spot out for some lunch or a tasty snack!

Salteñas in Gaithersburg!!!!! I couldn't be more excited about this. If you haven't tried a Salteña in your life, you are missing out. They are a Bolivian specialty. Basically, a hot pocket with actual flavor and made with real ingredients. Again, so very thankful to the food Gods for having a DMV Empanadas so close by. And of course they gave soooooo many empanada variations for every type of meal/taste bud. Oh and don't forget to try a Mocochinchi drink. It's a chilled peach drink. Really delicious. The staff were welcoming, polite, and so very thankful that we came in. The store was immaculately clean, clear with pictures menu, digital screen ordering option, and bar seating. A must try. Just go.

They are located next to Marshalls. You can order at the kiosk or they'll take your order. I ordered one shrimp and one chicken empanada. The shrimp one was seasoned good but their chicken one was ok. Im not a fan of bay leaves being in the mixture. I had never had a bay leaf stuffed inside an empanada. The empanadas seem that they are baked, their shell is labeled with the type of empanada you're getting. It as like a sweet taste. I've also see that they have saltenas, I'll try next time. The ladies that work there seem nice. They are very small. So seating is very limited. Plan on taking it to go.

These empanadas are so delicious! The variety is fantastic. The people are kind! I get these at the farmers market by the White House, but I think they are at different farmers markets as well.

Great empanadas! I ordered the 9 pack. The only thing is when ordering you know who gets what, but when they package it, you have no idea so you'll have to cut them open or take a bite to know. We got that out and even the left overs were great.

I got a pesto and cheese and Nutella empanada! I love that the empanadas are stamped on the borders with what is inside--no more mixing up empanadas! Delicious, hot, and perfectly flavorful.

The empanadas are made to order. Nice and hot! Always clean... (shhh I've been a few times within 2 weeks) and staff is ALWAYS happy and ready to answer any questions you may have! My go to is the Spinach and Beans but I've tried many!

I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the food, but it was really good. That's definitely my to go spot just to get something quick and fast. The service is great ambience. It's not that bad. It's OK it's inviting if you wanted to sit in, you could sit in, but mainly everybody's in there to get something to go

The people are nice but the empanadas are not good. Living in Montgomery County there are so many authentic empanadas places, these don't hold up.

We received a notification from Yelp that DMV Empanadas have opened, so we decided to check it out. Ordering at the counter was very quick and amicable. Prices are higher than other empanada eateries: $5 for each empanada & $6 for a salteña (sauce for an additional fee). Disappointing flavors. The salteña tasted like made with BBQ sauce and it was very dry inside. The beef empanada was filled mostly with potato and a very small amount of meat. Will not return and will not recommend.

Ordered from here a few times and the food has been good. The sides like the plantains, fries, and yuca have been great and I have to order extras. For their main thing, I can honestly eat their empanadas all day and my wife thinks they have decent peruvian chicken (for their area). I'm only docking it a star because of the service since it does take a while. At the very least they do recheck their orders and will notice if anything is missing. Sitting around watching the traffic is fine since it's always a mess in this shopping area.

We visited the DuPont Circle's Farmers Market & saw a long line. We enjoyed their empanadas! So good! Definitely a must next time.

We love DMV Empanadas! The empanadas taste soo good and the service is great. This is the third time that I have picked up from this location, and Maleika is always so kind and accommodating. The second time I forgot to ask for non-spicy sauce, and she gave me extra sauce without hesitation. She's always so welcoming, and that really makes the experience special.

While shopping we saw the NOW OPEN sign and decided to grab and few of their empanadas: spicy pork, chicken and their steak & cheese. Yummy!!!!! They shop is small and quaint and the service was pleasant and professional. Yes- we'll be back to try their other dishes.

Pricing was decent. $5 per empanada. But when I ordered it, they pulled it out of a drawer and slid it in a warmer. It tasted like a taquito from 7 eleven or a hot pocket. Not fresh or tasty.

They are back! Great place to stop in and get one of your favorites or try one empeñada that you haven't tried before. The new place is awesome and the staff very friendly! Will see you again soon!

The empanadas were good, but considering the size and taste, I found them overpriced. $5 seems a little high for a snack. Though if you are in the mood for an empanada, this is a solid option

The food is really good! The Empanadas are very wide and delicious, me and my dad went there and got the cheeseburger, the steak and cheese, and the shrimp. We also got the fried chicken and rice with plantains, the rice and plantains were good but the chicken was very greasy and needed more seasonings.
