A New Lounge Is Taking Over Part of Solly’s Bar — and Bringing Legal Baggage With It | Eater DC

"Planned by first-time restaurateur Yetnayet Enyew as a 30-person, clubby venue at 1102 U Street NW, the incoming DNA Lounge will have its own entrance, an upstairs dance floor with a DJ, and a menu of light “American finger foods.” Enyew says he registered the name despite awareness of the San Francisco club—arguing that duplicate business names exist across states and citing examples like a Cloud Lounge in both D.C. and Virginia—and notes that the pandemic made it easier to secure this U Street location; the business’s ABRA application went live in December and its Instagram post shows a sign design that integrates a hookah logo." - Tierney Plumb

DNA Social House has become one of my favorite spots in town, and it’s easy to see why. This place offers the best of both worlds—a vibrant day and night scene that caters to a mixed crowd. Whether you're looking to chill during the day or party into the night, DNA Social House has got you covered. The hookah here is top-notch, easily the best in town. They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, and the quality is consistently excellent. Paired with their fantastic food menu, it makes for an unbeatable combination. The customer service is outstanding; the staff are attentive and go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends or meet new people. The bar and lounge area are well-designed, providing a comfortable and stylish setting to enjoy your evening. DNA Social House has a unique vibe that sets it apart from other places in the area. After an exhilarating time at DNA Social House, I like to wind down at home with some quality weed from Pullupdeliveries. Their selection is always impressive, and I’ve found that Super Lemon Haze is my go-to strain for a perfect nightcap. It’s an excellent way to relax and extend the good vibes after a fun night out.

The DJ was bangin for the 5 people there on a Monday night. The music was the best part, he was really playin good music. But Paying $18 for a vodka redbull in a small plastic cup that’s smaller portions than a red solo cup is quite outrageous. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for more than one drink

We are a black couple that still in college. We went to DNA social house Last week. To have a beer and the bartender asked for documentation. After a doorman asked outside already. The place was almost empty and after 10 minutes waiting to see that they did not attend us we asked for the beer again. And asked for payment in advance, we had never something like this happened, we got up and left Don't go to this place. Yeah

Yelp
Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Hookah is overpriced for the quality, and if you come here to chill and talk to your friends to smoke Hookah, don't bother . The music was so loud the bass shook the seats. We barely heard the bartender or the people we were sitting with without having to yell. Very uncomfortable. If you care about your health, don't don't enter this place. They have RAT, YES, RAT RAT, the biggest I had ever see all over this place in the bathroom, the bar on the floor just disgusting . Thank God the hospital is around the corner. Avoid at all costs...

Yelp
The inside of this place smells like a urinal. Drinks and hookah way over priced. Music was too loud I couldn't even hear the bartender. $100+ dollars for 2 drinks and a hookah...a goddamn robbery. Not to mention, they served us a drink with a bug in it.
