Do & Co Restaurant am Stephansplatz

"Up on the seventh floor, this is one of the city's hotspots: a modern, elegant restaurant with a great terrace and a view of St Stephen's Cathedral. In the open kitchen the team cooks up international cuisine. Alongside the many Asian-influenced dishes, including sushi, the menu also features Austrian classics." - Michelin Inspector

We have visited this restaurant many times. The staff is friendly. The food is good but this time I felt the value compared to the prices was nit justified. The bread and butter first are good but 5 Euro per person is not justified. Even the toddler with us was charged 5 Euro! French fries are thin and boring. The cantonese beef cheeks were too sweet and just four mini pieces. Also the portion of the agnolotti was just two bites. Very disappointing. The lamb shank and organic chicken were good. Also the cocktail prawn were great. The Red Passion virgin cocktail was good.

We had a small issue at first during our visit to DO & CO Stephansplatz, but the team handled it with professionalism and care. Thanks to the manager, we ended up with the best table on the floor, with a stunning view of St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The food was absolutely delicious and the desserts were to die for! A truly memorable dining experience, definitely worth 5 stars.

Great experience from the very first moment we walked in and left our jackets at the desk. The staff is very well trained and extremely friendly. The food was awesome and nicely served. Welcome champagne average quality, wine list with a large variety of choice. The place couldn't be more central than that and the view of the cathedral is a great plus.

We came for a lunch, no reservation and we were curious If it can validate high expectations we were having since we visited the one in Munich which we absolutely adored. Almost it did. First and the foremost - the food was great, sushi was so fresh and a piece of it was truly perfect, edamame also. Drinks were tops, campari spritz was almost like the original one - not bitter as I find it elsewhere so here they used a good prosecco. Waiting for the food was up to 15-20min so it was a quick lunch and the place was still kinda half full only. Maybe bc we came during the day but the enterior looked a bit cheap and dull, so the next time I would rather go for a dinner. I just didn’t like the vibe of the place but the rest was worth the visit. 4,5 I would rate this

We came through the Michelin Guide app although it has no starts. It was the only one we could find open on Sunday evening. The food was meh. All dishes are with excellent ingredients but it’s cooked and served in a very simple way. There are truffles in many dishes although they are not related at all to the dish. Would not recommend as there are excellent local alternatives.

The lamb shank was fall off the bone amazing. The bouillabaisse was incredible- tasted like a lobster bisque and had huge chunks of seafood within it. The tuna steak was delicious, but I will note that the sushi roll that costs $22 was what an ordinary sushi restaurant would charge $10 for.. other than that the food was excellent. Obviously this restaurant has a perfect view of the cathedral and the atmosphere was wonderful.

On the pro side: The view is very nice, especially if you manage to get a reservation on the balcony in good weather, which thankfully worked out for us after reserving many weeks in advance. I appreciated that. SOME of the food we ordered was very nice (e.g. pea soup, tuna tartar). On the con side (unfortunately): Our main dishes largely disappointed. The veal cheeks were extremely salty (even by Austrian standards), to the point of almost being inedible. Generally, for this price tag, you simply expect better. We would not return for the food. Service: Ranging from genuinely friendly to aloof. A service staff visibly made a face and rolled her eyes at others guests (behind their backs) in front of us, after they asked an innocuous question. That`s inexcusable anywhere and enough reason for me not to return. Bottomline: If you resign yourself to mostly paying (a lot) for the view and don`t expect much from the food, it may be worth to come here. Just manage your expectations.

We were there a month ago. It’s a very busy restaurant , despite which they serve each person with much patience and respect. The food was delicious, the dessert ( Chocolate Surprise ) was the best dessert I’ve ever had. We enquired about a dessert available at the takeaway downstairs after we had paid the bill. They arranged to serve us that and didn’t charge us . We were very impressed with their hospitality.
