I placed an online order and received a text when my order might be ready. I didn't really pay attention to the decor. There are seats for dine-in. The colorful display of donuts caught my attention more than anything. Everything looked so good! I ordered 4 donuts and a large coffee, not bad for the quality and unique flavors they offer. I was a little underwhelmed when I tried the donuts, though. My favorite was the Buttermilk old-fashioned. It had a slight crisp on some of the outer parts, and the inside was soft and cakey. The sweetness was perfect. I'd order it again and again. The glazed was good. I'd order it again. I was disappointed in the fritter. It tasted pretty average. I think i just had higher hopes for it. The cream on the cheese Danish was delicious. It was a bit messy, and I think it needs to be packed differently than the other donuts. The cream was slathered all over the inside of my bag and had gotten on the other donuts. The Danish part was just ok. I wouldn't get it again if I'm not dining in. It was just too messy. My biggest complaint was the coffee. I was so disappointed. I couldn't even finish it. It was bland, and I could not taste the vanilla flavor that I paid extra for. I won't get it again. I will be back to try their other donut flavors and maybe a chicken sandwich one day. They close kinda early, so you have to catch them for an earlier lunch or eat a chicken sandwich for breakfast. Parking is paid street parking. If you order ahead and just run in for your order, you should be fine with not paying. That's what I did.

Google
Unpretentious and so damned good. Was in town for work and wanted to grab a quick bite. A co worker mentioned she was headed there for a donut, so I joined her. I had the chicken egg and cheese sandwich, with avocado. And it hit the spot. I went back the next day, and the day after. The staff is efficient and nice. If you are looking for a quick spot for food, this is the spot!

Google
Some of the best donuts in Chicago in my opinion. Hard to tell in the picture, but they are huge. They were the first stop on a personal donut tour and they set the bar high.

Google
The donuts and chicken are delicious. The coconut cream donut was my favorite! Delicious! We had a chicken sandwich on a vanilla bean donut and it was pretty darn good. We also had a chicken sandwich on the brioche bun and that was great too. Customer service was okay. The hand sanitizer dispenser was broken or empty. The bathroom was disgusting and no toilet paper or soap. This is why I rated 4 stars instead of 5.

Google
First time at this location. The donuts were fresh and did not disappoint. I guess I only had the buttermilk old-fashioned but it is unassailable. It's also insane value. Whereas most other spots are charging over $4 for a donut in the city, Do-Rites prices hover at or below $3. Staff were friendly too. Great spot in the West Loop. Might be my favorite location next to Wrigleyville.

Google
World class donuts! I tried ordering online but couldn’t find the donut cake. My hubby and I called over and over for two days and no one answered so my hubby finally went to the store and they said we had to order the donut cake online… but there’s no option to order online! They said there’s an email or feature to talk to someone to order the cake and it should be ordered a day ahead (which we tried to do). We asked if we could order in the store while there and they couldn’t make the cake for the same day only the next day because none of the 3 do-rite donut locations in Chicago had bakers on that Tuesday (it was 9am). He left for a meeting and instead of going back to pick up something I ended up ordering 2 dozen assorted donuts and having them delivered to the house so he didn’t have to make another trip. I wish I could order the birthday cake size donut online and have it delivered but the donuts were still a hit for my birthday. Note to anyone trying to order the cake, order early using the email on the site!

Google
Nice staff. The chicken sandwich was fresh but the fries were cold. I ate maybe 5 fries out of the whole order before tossing them. I got the may on the side for the chicken side, i'm glad i did because their mayo is more similar to relish.

Google
Good service and atmosphere for what it is. Donuts were average, nothing fancy. Sometimes sticking to classic simple donuts is best. Would go back again, but would stick to 1 kind only most likely not the variety.

Yelp
THE BIG: Several locations around the Chicago metro area. The small shop at Fulton Market is tucked away in a corner. Street parking and parking garages available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: We came here on a Saturday to check out Fulton Market and heard that Do-Rite donuts is a must try. They're famous for their buttermilk old fashioned donut which reminded me of cake donuts more specifically the timbits cake donuts. Interior had alot of boxes around and a nice wall of all of their accolades from online as well as local newspapers. Service was really slow, we were waiting inside the shop with no one around for 10 minutes. Very weird vibes. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The old fashioned buttermilk donut was about $2.25 and is a must try if you haven't had their donuts before.

Yelp
I went to the store on a Saturday morning. It was extremely busy and understaffed. I had placed an order for pick up, hoping for a quick in-and-out experience. However, I ended up waiting for 15-20 minutes. The employees at the front were only serving customers in line, and no one was attending to the pick up area. When I tried the donuts, I found the apple cider one to be incorrectly made - it was not soft, and it lacked cinnamon on the inside. The pumpkin spice donut also did not have the expected soft texture and seemed like it had been left out overnight instead of being freshly baked that morning. As a big fan of Dorite, I was disappointed by this experience.

Yelp
What a great breakfast sandwich! I dropped in for the egg, cheese and avocado sandwich and it's easily one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches now. It's an insane value. You get a lot of bang for your buck with a healthy serving of eggs, what felt like half an avocado and fluffy bun. They slather on a sauce that's the perfect compliment to the flavors. I also got an old fashioned buttermilk, and it was delicious! Friendly staff. Great for a quick on-the-go breakfast. Will be back for this sammy often!

Yelp
BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH EVER This photo might not look like much, but wrapped within that foil is a beautiful creation that puts every other chicken sandwich on this planet to shame. 5 stars solely because of how life changing this sandwich is. I could live off these things forever. Chicken sandwich aside, there are improvements to be made. Friendly staff but the tables are almost always dirty, the coffee leaves something to be desired, breakfast sandwiches are meh, the donuts are the next best thing after the chicken sandwich but still not the best donuts I've ever had.

Yelp
Walk by here all the time and finally stopped in! Such a good chicken sandwich with a really good bun (which makes or breaks it in my opinion). Also got a lg cold brew that was on tap and under $5! I'm not a big doughnut person but have heard they're really good also and I saw a couple of gluten free options too! Will be back on my next walk through west loop!

Yelp
It wasn't my first time at Do-Rite, but my friend and I made a date to specifically try their donut, chicken sandwich and can I just say wow. We split one thinking it would be too rich, but it was perfect. They slice a vanilla glazed donut in half and use that as the top and bottom for the chicken. It also includes lettuce, pickles and mayo, which I thought would be weird with the donut, but oh was I wrong. Everything went really well together and it was less "donut forward" than expected - it felt balanced. Also, the chicken was super crispy outside and soft on the inside. Two weeks later, we went back for the regular hot and spicy chicken sandwich and that was also fire. Truthfully, a great lunch spot for a casual, satisfying bite. And their donuts are delicious too. Oh, and get the hash browns when you get a sandwich. They were staff-recommended and rightfully so.

Yelp
Love the donuts and chicken sandwiches here. Been going to this location for years now. Always great service !
google avatar

Christie D.

Yelp
They easily have my favorite breakfast sandwich in the city, and it's cheap! Their donuts are great too! Need to try their chicken sandwich since I hear that's also really good.
google avatar

Yelp
I've stopped here a couple times to pick up donuts for my team on Fridays and everything here is delicious. I love the classic old fashioned donuts with chocolate glaze, and they have some unique flavors like chai and blueberry crumble. The donuts are big so you can cut them in half, although I always eat the whole thing! They also have dark matter coffee which is so good.

Erin O.

Yelp
The best gluten free donuts I've ever had!...and the new flour they are using has made it even better!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite thing at Do-Rite is their breakfast sandwich! I usually get the Vera Cruz or Denver. Husband gets the bacon. They're all good, it just depends on your protein preference. The brioche bun is great and elevates the sandwich. I've never made the sandwich a donut, it's already quite filling and rich as it is. Lots of egg and a sizable sandwich for $8. It's worth it. Whenever we're nearby in the morning, this is our go-to fast breakfast!
google avatar

Yelp
Do yourself a favor... skip whatever you have planned for breakfast and make a "bee line" to Do-Rite. This sleepy, under-the-radar place makes the best donuts in the city. They are right down the street from some "Stan" guy, but all donuts are not created equal. There is no compare. You can't order a bad donut. I especially like the ones with "cronut" layers. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
The donuts ( food) are definitely gourmet. The service is friendly, not really much to say about ambiance but those donuts deserves to have no hole in it, they were spectacular.
google avatar

Janine L.

Yelp
My coworkers ordered a box and it was omg so incredible!! We got a box of assorted donuts with chocolate, sprinkles, cinnamon, and glazed. Super delicious, fresh, I mean the perfect donuts. I can't speak to the service or ambiance but definitely a must try if you are in Chicago and craving donuts!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
I've tried many donut places in Chicago and show far Do-Rite Donuts are by far my favorite place! Every donut I try is phenomenal. Service is always really good. My favorite if they have it is the coconut cream. Fun shop with great energy.
google avatar

Roma B.

Yelp
Got the chocolate, powdered, and sprinkle donut. Liked the dough that was used, it was thick and fluffy. The chocolate sauce was okay, but not bad. Only downside was that you could taste the oil in the donut.
google avatar

Ricki Ann T.

Yelp
We drive in from the Northwest suburbs for these donuts because they are that GOOD. Way bigger and better than your average neighborhood donut shop. Get your favorites chocolate cake, cinnamon, Boston crème, birthday cake, old fashioned and more plus seasonal favorites like pumpkin and the heavenly coconut crème. You CAN NOT go wrong with any variety. Come see why DoRite is the best donut in the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Literally the best donuts in chicago (sorry Doughnut Vault but Do-Rite is just more accessible). Have tried the whole gamut here and there isn't a single donut I've had that has just been ok or meh. The old fashioned and chocolate old fashioned are immaculate. Blueberry crumble is unique. Coconut dream is one of my top go tos. Pistachio Mayer lemon and orange olive oil are amazing. French cruller. I can go on and on. Do yourself a favor, go here, and buy everything. BUT WAIT. I DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THE CHICKEN. This might be one of the best chicken sandwiches/chicken tenders I have ever tried. The tender combo box comes with a huge bed of fries, a piece of southern toast, and plenty of dipping sauce (that is also in house made and delicious). The breakfast sandwiches are also amazing and a great value. The Vera-Cruz is my favorite. (I'm not sponsored by Do-Rite and many donuts have been harmed/devoured/destroyed during the making of this review)

Yelp
Favorite donuts: 1- birthday cake - rainbow sprinkles with white icing and a cake donut. The stuff of a sugar addicts dreams. 2- Valhalla chocolate cake - the chocolate icing is so fudgy and chocolatey which is amazing, sometimes donuts are too sugary and not chocolatey enough but this is not the case. 3- cinnamon crunch - sort of like a cinnamon role without the icing. It's not super sweet but in a good way. There's plenty of sugar though. One star is lost because service was quite slow- I got there Sunday morning when it opened and had to wait for probably 15 minutes, there probably needs to be more people working on weekend mornings. Online orders wouldn't have been any faster because there were so many of those one of the two people working was entirely devoted to that. Won't stop me from coming back again though.

Yelp
I wasn't aware Do-Rite Donuts and Chicken was a chain and was pleasantly surprised to stumble onto one. I've been the the other location on Erie Street. I always go for the classic Piggy sandwich with a side of fries. I gave this location 4/5 for a few reasons. 1) the other location is more well kept (cleaner restroom facilities and dining area) and 2) my sandwich wasn't as crispy as I've had it in the past. The fries are really yummy and a perfect mix between soft and crispy. I tried a chocolate donut today and it was pretty good, but not my favorite. This location earned some points however, for having a real dining area. At the other location, there's only seating outside.
google avatar

Marissa L.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Do-Rite's donuts for years, but this was my first time trying the vegan donuts. They have three varieties a day (until they sell out), and while those options don't change the way the regular flavors do, they're more interesting than some of your standard donut shop flavors. My favorite was the maple chai, but we also really liked the orange olive oil one. Very convenient location right near the Morgan stop, so we visited multiple times on our trip and would definitely return.

Mary Ellen L.

Yelp
Do rite choc donuts Mmm all that chocolate Amazing Imagine fresh baked donuts everyday They have a variety and always special one
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
The donuts were huge and very fluffy! We ordered a dozen assorted and among the bunch, we thought the Boston creme was the best. They weren't too sweet, and were the perfect side for sharing. I also tried the spicy chicken sandwich with the donut bun. It's really a game changer! If you're a fan of a savory-sweet combo, then you have to give it a try!
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
Was really excited to try the hot chicken donut sandwich here, but what really stole the show is pistachio Meyer lemon donut!! It's a cake donut, but even for someone like my partner who does not like cake donuts, he loved this donut. Definitely must get this donut come here!
google avatar

Yelp
I am not a fan of chicken sandwiches but this place gets it right!!! Yes this is Do-Rite Donuts and their baking skills are top Notch! No matter what time you eat their donuts they are still soft and Delicious. I am so glad they added chicken to their title because they deserve it. It's crazy to think Popeyes is so popular for their chicken sandwiches because I personally think Do-Rite has the best chicken sandwich in Chicago. The experience I had today was great as well shout outs to Mo who has a friendly welcoming attitude. I got the chicken sandwich and fries combo which was perfect. I also got the white frosted sprinkles donuts as a dessert and washed everything down with a coffee. Like I said the chicken sandwich is amazing. I still remember my first time getting one of their chicken sandwiches after I finished a DJ gig and had to leave my sandwich in the car throughout my entire set. I was pleasantly surprised at how Delicious my sandwich was after sitting in a cold car for at least three hours. If your ever in the west loop and want a quick bite Do Rite is not a bad choice at all!! 4 of 5

Yelp
This is my first breakfast in Chicago, and my little sister was very enthusiastic when ordering. She recommended me the best selling egg bacon sandwich, donut, and another cup of coffee in the store, starting the perfect day! Five star review!
google avatar

Yelp
Average/standard donut. There are definitely better ones around the city. Has a cute little outdoor space to enjoy your food.

Yelp
First these donuts are huge!! This place has been on my list for a very long time. Next time I visit, I want to try their breakfast and chicken sandwiches. Just fyi, their donuts are all pretty sweet so if you don't like super sweet donuts, maybe this place isn't for you. Pumpkin spice: I didn't think I would like this one because I thought it was just another pumpkin donut. It surprised me and was really good. I think the cream cheese icing is what sold it for me. Pistachio lemon: I thought this was ganna be my fav but it was the opposite. I always get a pistachio donut but this one was just not appetizing to me. The lemon in its name was appealing to me but I barely tasted any lemon. Maybe there was just too much pistachios? Because it was very very nutty and the donut itself was kind of dry. Blueberry crumb: This one was so yummy! So moist and not dry at all! This donut is perfect to have for breakfast. Maple bacon: Their classic take on maple bacon. Delicious as always. Came with 2 pieces of candied bacon on top. They did not skimp out on the bacon size either. Cheese danish: I was most excited to try this one (clearly when I took a bite before taking my picture). Literally tastes just like a cheese danish in donut form! Orange olive oil: This one is probs in my top 3. Orange + olive oil just sounds so heavenly together. And I didn't even know this donut was vegan. You definitely taste both flavors. So delicious!!

Yelp
Full transparency, I came here on my way to the greenline after brunch. My husband texted and said he wanted lunch...so here I am. It was about 2pm, so most of the donut flavors were sold out; but they had my husband's favorite (Boston cream) so we were cool. I ordered the middle chicken sandwich (sorry, totally spaced on the name). Counter service was super polite and the sandwich maker was really quick. Everything was packaged nicely for my commute home. Husband loved the sandwich. My time management needs a little work...need to get here earlier!
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Some of the best donuts in town, and you know this is true because whenever I stop in, there are always come police officers having a donut :D Some must have donuts are the Cinnamon Old Fashioned and Buttermilk. Their chocolate frosting has a nice flavor to it as well. If you feel like some actual food, the breakfast sandwich(egg, bacon and cheese) is very filling.
google avatar

Jim T.

Yelp
Wish I lived in the area! I tried the original chicken sandwich and it was super good. Picked up a few sweet treats for later. Life was too short and had to try the Bavarian cream 1st. Next time I'll have to try a bite of the sweet then the savory.
google avatar

Carina V.

Yelp
Really good flavor on chicken sandwich. Very seasoned. Fluffy donuts although a little expensive but I understand the pricing. Very busy and crowded inside but workers were efficient and polite.
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely one of the best Donut restaurants in Chicago. We visited the location in the Willis Tower on our way into the office in that building. There was a line at the counter the entire time we were there. That's a good sign, it means that they have repeat and loyal customers. We had the Cinnamon Crunch Raised donut and the Coconut Cream donut. The first thing that you need to realize is that these are very tall donuts. It was difficult for me to get the entire donut in my mouth in one bite. The donuts had a great flavor. Both donuts were yeast donuts with a crunchy outside and a soft inside. There was a good deal of cinnamon and coconut on the outside. The cream filling was light but still flavorful. After we had donuts in the lobby, we were surprised to discover that two dozen donuts had been ordered for the meeting that we attended. More Do-Rite Donuts is never a bad thing. I highly recommend Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken. I will coming back to their chicken and lunch menu.
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
I've yet to find a donut shop that rivals Do-Rite. Maybe Fractured Prune but they aren't Chicago-based. Do-Rite donuts are hefty and will leave you feeling full. They have a very nice array of options as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I've yet to make it through every donut flavor but the ones I've had so far have been amazing. The best is the old fashioned donut by far but that's not to say the others weren't fantastic. I also got an iced caramel latte which was very very sweet. Almost too sweet but they're cold brew is perfect. The breakfast sandwhiches are also huge. A lot of egg, they also include mayonnaise and tomato. If I were to order breakfast sandwiches again I'd request to hold the tomato and Mayo and maybe cut back on the egg just a bit. While they're delicious, I couldn't imagine having one of these sandwiches before a long work day. I'd fall asleep in front of my computer monitor no question. Hey, but that means less time in excel and PowerPoint amirite?? Can't wait to go back to try the chicken items. You can Do-no-wrong by eating at Do-rite Donuts. ( ° °)

Yelp
Inviting exterior. Filthy interior. Seriously gross. Slippery, greasy floors. Grimy surfaces. Very limited donut choice at 11am on a Saturday bc the other choices had been sold and they don't make more. Got the Michigan Apple Fritter. Tasted day-old. Drip coffee was excellent. I used the restroom and it was disgusting. Pee all around the toilet etc.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
Yummy donuts! Unfortunately, I don't think we got them at it's freshest, but I know they would've been so much better nice and warm! The bottom batch was still good and the bread itself was nice and fluffy; not too dense & not too soft. Next time, I just gotta get there in time for it peak freshhhhnesss.
google avatar

Mia L.

Yelp
The freaking best old fashioned donuts in Chicago. Firecakes, Stan's and Doughnut Vault just don't compare. Dorite's have the perfect thick crust with a nice douse of glaze. The cinnamon crumb version is also fab, and can't go wrong with the chocolate frosted old fashioned if you like a nice layer of bitterweet chocolate ganache (only trade off is sometimes the non-frosted parts aren't as crispy as their glazed and cinnamon crumb counter parts). I'm not gluten intolerant, but the gluten-free bday cake donuts is also great - a bit of a chewy texture (in the best way -- think a hybrid mochi and traditional cake like texture).
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
$17 for half a dozen of donuts?! But it sure does buy happiness! At 8 am on a Saturday morning, Do-rite is already queuing up with customers waiting to get their hands on their donuts. I'd recommend ordering online for pick-up next time if you don't like waiting/are in a hurry! It took about 10-15mins from door to counter that day. Wanted to get their early so that the donuts I got my hands on were fresh. My top favorite donuts are: buttermilk old fashion, and the blueberry crumb. I will order dozens of these if I had the funds to do so!
google avatar

Midori G.

Yelp
We got the maple chai donut and omg- the flavor was great. Very seasoned and not dry at all. There are a couple of tables to sit at inside and out. We went on a Sunday morning and the line was not long at all Is it the best donut I've ever had? No. But it is worth a shot if you're in the area!
google avatar

Jane W.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast sandwhich. They're huge and definitely filled me up for the morning. If you want a cheesy, greasy, juicy, thick breakfast sandwich, Do Rite is your place. They also sell massive donuts. The donuts are good, but I thought a little dry so that's why I took a star off.
google avatar

Amy -.

Yelp
TL;DR - good morning breakfast stop Ok, this place has great donuts. Weird flavors like orange and olive oil, blueberry crumble, and of course normal flavors too like glaze. They're more rustic, not cookie cutter donuts. I highly recommend it, plus you can get a hot coffee for $1. However, the fried chicken was a disappointment. Also the make it spicy means it's a spicy mayo. Overall, the pickles were the best of it. Skip it. Even though reviews say otherwise. Service was fine and feel of the shop had a New York ish feel. Close to Morgan station.
google avatar

Mara W.

Yelp
Fire donuts, chicken and sandwiches! The homemade bbq was so delicious! Sweet, tangy with a lil spicy back drop. The maple bacon and apple fritter were so good! Literally best apple critter we have ever had; so moist and full of flavor. The tenders were yummy too. The chicken sandwich was juicy, fried perfect and the dressing was good too. My son loved the fresh squeezed lemonade, tart and sweet! Ohhh wee delicious! We ate here twice while vacationing it was so good!!

Yelp
Our group stumbled across this place getting off the metro. We walked past it, went to time-out market, and, not impressed, walked back towards Do-Rite. I'm so glad we did. Amazing food, polite staff, quickly service, great prices, and quality ingredients. Highly, highly recommend. I had an original spicy chicken sandwich on a donut bun. Changed my life. Stop by! We ordered donuts to go as well. Our favorites were 1) maple bacon 2) meyer lemon pistachio 3) chocolate old-fashioned We got the double chocolate as well, but we weren't impressed. It tasted like chocolate cake, which we weren't in the mood for (we wanted donuts! ).
google avatar

Elana T.

Yelp
I'm usually not a fan of chain restaurants, but Do-Rite did deliver. I had the fan favorite Lemon pistachio donut. Bold flavor, I'm a sweets fanatic but it was too sweet for my liking. I will go back to try their other unique flavors.

Debra G.

Yelp
The Do-Rite in New Lenox had such great donuts and their regular chicken strips are the best. They come piping hot because they are made fresh when you get there. The fries are really good too and also steaming hot. I've never made the four minute drive home without diving into the fries! I only wish they were open a little later in the day.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
I got the Chocolate Old Fashioned and the Maple Bacon donut. Both were very good. The chocolate was more of a dark chocolate, which I loved. Overall, these were great. I'd like to try some more. I don't know if it's quite as good as Doughnut Vault or Firecakes, but it's close.

Yelp
Do-Rite is one of my favorite doughnut shops in Chicago. They are a local doughnut shop with I believe five locations in the city. They are known for their unique, delicious artisanal doughnuts. I have had their doughnuts a few times and have liked them every time I had them. I have also been to their Streeterville location, besides this location. When the gourmet doughnuts scene took off in Chicago (however many years back), Do-Rite was right there in the mix. I remember people raving about the other popular gourmet doughnuts shop, a chain from West Coast, as the best or something. But to me Do-Rite were a step above compared to the other shop in terms of the taste and texture of their doughnuts. My favorite doughnuts here are Meyer Lemon & Pistachio and the Maple Bacon. Next favorite is the Orange Olive Oil (if I remember the name correctly). The other reason I really like Do-Rite is for their Chicken sandwich. Their spicy Chicken sandwich is da bomb. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It's definitely worth having it along w/ their doughnuts. Do-Rite is among Chicago's best doughnuts shops. You should check them out.

Yelp
Small donut shop with several varieties to choose from. I played it safe and went with a vanilla bean glazed. It was good, not the best I've ever had but I would try them again and check out other flavors. The young lady at the counter was kind and didn't rush me when I pondered over the flavors.

Yelp
In fairness, they have good coffee and donuts, but the service was pretty atrocious. The cashier didn't give me the stated discount for grabbing a coffee with a donut, plus, charged me for a large and gave me a small coffee. And the place wasn't even crowded at all.
