The London Halal Breakfast & Brunch Guide

"Having brunch at Dobar means committing to a queue. Whether it’s 10 minutes or half an hour really depends on how early you get there, but know there is always a wait at this walk-in-only cafe on Green Lanes. It's a casual, rustic spot with exposed brick walls, and a hearty full English that arrives in a skillet pan. Whether it’s creamy eggs or the fluffy french toast covered in Nutella and fruit, this is the right way to start the day." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley

Dobar - Review - Harringay - London - The Infatuation

"When you commit to brunch at Dobar, you commit to waiting in a queue. Whether it’s 10 minutes or half an hour really depends on how early you get there, but just know that there is always a wait at this walk-in only cafe on Green Lanes. It's a casual, rustic spot with exposed brick walls, and the kind of cosy tables you'd happily spend a couple of hours sat at—if the food didn't arrive so promptly, and get eaten up even faster. Whether it’s the hearty full English that arrives in a skillet pan, or the fluffy french toast covered in Nutella and fruit, this is the right way to start a Saturday. Or a Tuesday, or a Wednesday. Or any day for that matter. If this was our local, we’d likely be here at least once a week. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Rianne Shlebak

Absolutely outstanding service from the staff here at Dobar. Was thoroughly impressed by the attentiveness of the staff and manager. I rang them ahead of arrival that we had a group of 12 and they were so accommodating. To the food, absolutely amazing. The standard and presentation was A1 and timely. One of our friends was celebrating his birthday and was presented with a lovely birthday sundae by our waitress. We left thoroughly satisfied with our experience with Sobar and will most definitely be back!

Tried to visit here on a Saturday for a late breakfast at midday, but the queue was huge! Decided to venture back on Sunday morning just after opening time, following a brisk walk in anticipation across the actual Finsbury Park. We had a full English breakfast, less black pudding, and a stack of pancakes, all served with sour bread toast and a pot of tea. Service couldn't be faulted, on point from the door greeting, the taking of the order, to ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the meal. Even one of the managers interacted with conversation over the Churchill crockery that they use for the tea as he had noticed me looking at the branding on the back of the saucer. It was a surprise to see such thought being made by a cafe. The hearty breakfast was served in a half-size cast-iron pan, very unique, and care had been taken in arranging the breakfast items in it. Also was really impressed by the vine cherry tomatoes served in the meal. Although Premier Inn do a very good all-you-can-eat breakfast at a comparably much lower value, Dobar's quality food was absolutely tasty, adequately filling, and the over indulgence of hot fluffy pancakes with a knob of butter, strewn with maple syrup was every bit worth the experience! Will definitely visit again when in London in the future. Definitely a great way to start our leisurely Sunday.

Went in around 10:30am, was sat right away. Menu has lots of options from sweet to savory, breakfast to lunch. I ordered a iced mocha the Nutella pancakes. Iced mocha was out in like 3 minutes and the pancakes were out under 10 minutes. I asked for some tap water and I got the most beautiful tap water I have ever received, the added mint orange and lemon were fantastic. If I was staying longer I would absolutely be coming back to this place. Could not have asked for any better

Wonderful coffee! Great options and fast service! I ordered two cappuccinos, regular and coconut milk, both came with regular milk and the very kind and polite staff changed it quickly! Things like that make all the difference! We will definitely be back soon

We went early morning, so we got good seats . We were approached by a lovely member of staff called Zeynep who catered to our needs along with another staff member. The food breakfast was immaculate, the best breakfast I had in any cafe. The breakfast never took long to come and they always made sure we were ok. I definitely will be back and spread the word. Worth every penny.

Brunch at Dobar was so good. The food was amazing, super flavorful, and the portions were huge (in the best way). Their fresh juices were incredible too — super fresh and tasty, not overly sweet like some places. Everything just felt really high quality. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re into good food and big portions. Definitely coming back!

A busy brunch stop near Manor House station. I would recommend arriving before 11am to avoid having to wait too long for a table. The food visually looks very interesting but otherwise is not especially special taste-wise. I ordered a flat white which was average, although my partner had the matcha and it was excellent.

Genuinely nice food and portion sizes are very generous. Attentive staff who are super friendly. Very popular place especially on a Sunday morning, so don’t be surprised if you have a short wait to get a table. They do move quickly though. Highly recommend a visit.
