We expected to be more impressed with Dobra Tea than was our actual result. I had to wait outside while my wife ordered for us, as I was carrying one of our puppers in a vest I was wearing (no biggie), so I was not privy to the exact details, but she reported that the girl taking our orders was not particularly friendly or helpful. She was said to have an aloof and rather unwelcoming demeanor, and that most questions were responded to with an air of impatience and mild annoyance.
Compounding the experience, it took 20 minutes for our two raspberry black iced teas, and one hot Chai Masala tea to arrive. Our Goat Cheese and Tomato plate had already arrived, and been completely devoured, before they showed up, and the place wasn't particularly busy at the time. Still scratching my head on that one.
The raspberry black iced teas were tasty, and I appreciated the light touch of sweetening, as most places tend to over-saccharine their brews. This ain't the deep south, people! No sweet tea here: Dobra done good on this point. No faults for the Chai Masala either, as it hit all the right notes of sweet and spice, and not over-steeped, which we expected, based on the time it took to arrive.
There are things about the experience that could be improved here, but the end product is good. Not enough to make it a must-stop on a return trip to Ashland, but close enough to warrant at least mild curiosity the next time we're in the area.
