Dobra Tea

Asian tea shop is located closed to downtown Burlington VT. The decoration is very zen and relaxing. The back section is shoe-off area. Many tea pots / cups / cultural artifacts on display. The lady was very nice and helpful. She showed me the menu and asked if we would like a table. Too bad we were on the time crunch, otherwise I really would love to sit and sip my tea. I had Ceylon tiger river. She boiled the water and made the tea only after I ordered. Wooooo the quality was exceptional. Very strong tea flavor and aroma. She only offered 1 size cup and I wished it was a bigger 16oz cup because it was really good!

We stopped by Dobra tea to try out their unique collection of teas. The store was serving limited type of tea, nonfood, since it was Monday noon. The tea store is huge, lots of tables to sit. Alongside tea, they have menu for some bites, dumplings and rice bowls as well. At the far end of the store, they have the sitting pavilions. Guests can take off their shoes and hang out in groups to enjoy tea and food. We found the price of tea and food reasonable. The person working at that time was very friendly. She explained all the tea leaves and their origin. She made our tea within few minutes. We were in rush, so we the drink to go. The tea had excellent flavor, we liked it a lot.

I have been going to Dobra Tea for at least 3 years now. It is my little get away and place I like to meet people to sit, relax and chat. I enjoy the atmosphere and floor seating especially. The tea menu is wonderful, and it is always fun trying a new tea. Some reviews will say the teas are pricey, however I find them comparable to what one would pay for on average at a coffee house. The owner, who is the main tea maker, is very informative. However, she also tends to be busy, so be patient.

I went here for the first time with some friends. We stayed for hours talking over our tea. There is an extensive list of teas of different varieties... Black, white, oolong, chais, herbals, etc. I had one of their spiced chais and was not disappointed. They also have some great treats, both sweet and savory. A lovely little gem of a tea house.

The owner (or worker) was off from the moment we walked in. When we ordered she was out of two of our things and one of our items was still being made despite them being open for over an hour already. When I asked for recommendations she seemed a little annoyed and pointed back to the menu for me to read the teas. Our tea and food was good as well as the ambiance but the worker was just really uptight and almost pretentious like we were too dumb to be there. We thought it was just us but she was odd to other guests too. I also think she added a tip herself since there was no option for us to tip and our bill was a little extra!

Great shop with a large selection of loose leaf tea and knowledgeable staff. We picked up some hibiscus and green tea and a new diffuser (for 12 bucks) - and it's the nicest one we have owned! Dobra has a little tea bar too to come in and grab a cup of tea and enjoy it with a book or a friend on one of the nice tables or chairs! It's a cozy place that has quality teas and very fair prices. If you are a fan of tea or curious to try some new teas it's a guaranteed good time!

I was new to thos establishment amd overall it was a great visit. I had requested for calming tea and grabbed a ginger molasses cookie :) ill will be returning! Thank you again!

My wife and I stopped by Dobra Tea for some tea, and it turned out to be a truly warm and inviting experience. The ambiance of the tea house is serene, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, it’s the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease. The soft lighting, eclectic seating, and calming music create a perfect environment for slowing down and enjoying your cup of tea. We had the opportunity to speak with the owner during our visit, which added a personal touch to our experience. She was incredibly friendly and transparent, letting us know that she was currently out of a few of our favorite teas. She explained that she had already ordered them and was waiting for her next shipment to arrive. We appreciated her honesty and the passion she clearly has for her craft. While we couldn’t get a few of the teas we initially came for, we did purchase some turmeric, which was beautifully aromatic and of excellent quality. The service throughout our visit was attentive but never rushed, allowing us to really savor the moment. Overall, Dobra Tea is a gem, whether you’re a tea enthusiast or simply looking for a quiet place to unwind, it’s well worth a visit. We look forward to returning soon, hopefully when our favorite teas are back in stock!

Fun. Exotic. With good tea and a few rules (no phones and shoes). Ot costs what it costs and they'll add a service charge. But the tea's exceptional.

I hate leaving a negative review but the automatic gratuity even for take out is crazy. I would not have even known if I didn't ask for a receipt. I order tea to go and pastries they gave themselves a tip or over 5.00. I was there the night before and I did not get a receipt but I'm sure the same thing happened. The tea is good, and the place is cute but I don't like the forced tipping especially when they don't even tell you about it. I'm sad about this because I really love supporting small businesses and I love finding tea places but the charging a tip without telling you is not cool. Also be sure to get their a least an hour before closing if you want to sit down. Another customer came in 45 minutes before they refused to serve him, take out only.

The tea was phenomenal! We got the Little Bird's Tongue Jasmine and the Cherry Blossom tea. Disappointed that there is no longer Tea Ceremonies, even though they advertise them, and still list them in the menu. Super cute interior & great for catching up with friends. Service was okay.

My friend brought me to here favorite little tea shop in Burlington. Can I just say that this place is so charming? We were greeted when we came in the door and tried to decide on where to sit. Sitting in the very back would require use to take off our shoes, which was cool, but it was kinda dark so we sat in the front where we could watch people and cars going by. I really had a hard time deciding what to order as their menu was extensive. I finally decided on a chilled drink, the Forest Dragon, which had 2 types of green teas: a Japanese matcha and a Chinese jasmine green tea with oat milk(it was originally supposed to have rice milk but they were out this day, the substitution was fine by me), fresh mint, cardamom, and local honey. This was THE BEST! Who knew the combination would be so delicious? Super highly recommended.

Dobra tea serves (and sells) an amazing selection of tea, light food and baked goods. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. I loved the little teapot and ceramic mug - so much that I ended up buying one of their milk servers to take home.

Watch out for the automatically added 20% tip. Matcha latte TO GO = $10.00. FYI, I always tip. The only reason I knew about this addition was that I asked, "How can I tip you?" I did not like this automatic assumptive gratuity. But having not been in Dobra since they moved to the new location, and based on who waited on me, I'm not surprised. I guess they're never going to acknowledge all the feedback over the years. No problem. I won't be back.

I wish I could give this spot 10 stars. You walk in and are immediately transported - soft piano music plays, ambient lighting, pillows and comfy spots to choose from all over the room. I loved being in a space surrounded by other women my age who just sat and read books or chatted with friends or worked on their laptop. I drink chai pretty much every day and have had it all over but if I could drink nothing but Dobra's Taste of Kashmir chai every single day for the rest of my life, I'd be happy.

I really like the shop; I've been to a couple of Dobra locations and they are always lovely. The ambiance is peaceful and the food is decent. HOWEVER. I ordered tea from Dobra Vermont in August. It is now October, and the order has not been delivered. Dobra has not responded to emails or a voice message. I tried leaving a comment on their Instagram to get their attention, and they reported it as spam! What kind of customer service is that? Just no curiosity as to whether I was making a real inquiry, and making the kind of report that can get my account deleted. I'm really disgusted. What are y'all playing at?

When you arrive, make sure you order at the counter. Additionally, the address is outdated. It's not 80 Church Street; it's 125 S. Winooski Avenue. I ordered the Oolong tea (Big Red Robe) and the lavender tea cake. The tea and snacks were awesome. The ambiance was pretty chill.

Like Amanda J. who posted in October, 2023, I have placed an order for tea with Dobra Tea Vermont. My order was placed more recently, November 6th 2023, but I have heard nothing from them about delays or deliveries for the past 4 weeks. I have received no response to email. I have called the phone number approximately 10 times over the last 2 weeks at various times and on different days, and have not been able to make contact. The phone rings and goes to a voice mail that is full and then hangs up, so that a message cannot be left. This seems to be going beyond poor service and communication, and I caution anyone who tries to place an online order! Joseph F. Foster, RI

What a very cool store for tea lovers such as myself. If it weren't for Covid I would have definitely hung around and visited this place a lot more while we were in Burlington. I loved all of their tea selections but was only in the mood to try an iced Oolong tea, which immediately made me think of eating dim sum with my family. Love the hippy-vibe of the place!

Stumbled upon this location while in Burlington and found the tea blends very unique! The interior is definitely mismatched - sort of crunchy bohemian - but a nice place to relax for an hour or so. I ordered this crazy chilled blend (one of the dragons) that had lemongrass, mint, matcha, etc. and it was really good/I've never had anything like it! Loved the unique blends - highly recommend.

Absolutely the best tea I've ever had by far. The space has wicker seating some bench chair table combo seating and an area where you can sit on the floor as long as you take your shoes off. Being a larger person I was weary of wicker but luckily was able to snag a bench shortly after arriving. The menu can be a little overwhelming. You scan a code to get full descriptions of the teas listed on the menus and the list is endless!! 38 pages!! I had the black vanilla chai and then decided to try an additional tea. That second tea was the best! CBD Hemp Flower Chai with Matcha. A Blend of hemp flower with Japanese Matcha. Heaven. Also had an order of olives. The man working there was wonderful very calming and helpful. The woman working that day was a little uptight. Some customers came in asking a lot of questions wondering why things have changed from the old location and wouldn't scan the code so asked for her to give descriptions and make suggestions. You could tell she was annoyed but still polite. Couldn't blame her too much. However, changed the vibe in there a bit for me. They offer some food snacks and little pastries, nothing substantial. I will definitely return to try other teas if I'm in the area again.

This place has a nice atmosphere, a friendly staff, and a lot of teas to choose from. The tea itself was really good, but I have 2 issue that lowered my rating. The first is I said 1 cup each, and the lady that took my order repeated a single cup each, but they brought us each share sizes that both went to waste and cost us over $20. The second is I didn't know any of their prices until I paid because their menu is online and it's split up. What I mean is there is list of teas at the top, and since I found the tea I wanted quickly I stopped looking, but if you scroll past the list there is a second list with the same teas and the price for each. I only found this out when I went back later to see how I paid over $20 for 2 teas. Again the tea was really good, but tea should not be the same price as a mixed drink. I'd definitely come back, but only to buy tea leaves.

Nice ambience and friendly staff, but unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the drinks I ordered. The boba texture was inconsistent--some bubbles were decent but some were too soft. My matcha with oat milk didn't have a lot of tea flavor, though my partner's oolong milk tea tasted better. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't great either; however, if I'm paying over $7 for a boba drink that isn't a large size, I expect more quality-wise. I also was told I'd be charged $14 at the register and when I checked my credit card balance a few days later, I was confused why I was charged $17 (almost $9 for a boba drink???). Luckily I was able to dispute it with my credit card company, and while it's not a lot, I didn't appreciate being charged more than I was told for some unknown reason.

As soon as my sister and I walked in, the staff member at the counter told us she was not seating anyone. We didn't even have a second to smile or say hello. She threw up her hands and said she was the only staff member. Looking around, there were plenty of empty tables and we wouldn't have minded even to go tea if she had offered, which she didn't. Then we saw a second staff member behind the counter, so... we felt very unwelcome. It seemed like she just didn't want us in there for whatever reason. I've been to Dobra before at their previous location and have had lovely experiences. Unfortunately, I will not be returning again after such rude (non) service.

Wow, would never guess this charming, cozy tea house is a chain!!! It's like a zen sanctuary or like you're in the East Asian section of an art museum. Lovely assortment of matcha based tea. We tried one with dragon in it? Had matcha and mint, which was really refreshing and unexpected in a good way. Don't be afraid to ask before ordering, staff is very helpful.

Dobra Tea is an amazing experience combining great tea and delicious healthy food, wonderful and friendly service, and an awesome ambiance!

I went here yesterday and my goodness. I wish I didn't live so far away. They are so incredibly welcoming and non judgmental as for many other places in burlington are. They have very clean and healthy choices and a very beautiful setting as well. Although the prices are high they are worth every bit. Please go out of you way to go here. You will not regret it.

Great atmosphere but overpriced. Got two bubble teas for 17$ and they added a tip without asking, we were also not given the opportunity to tip ourselves. The tea was on the edge of watery.

This place was so cute inside! A real tea shop with authentic booths to sit in and the atmosphere had good vibes. It definitely attracted quite the crowd and we stood on line to order a black oolong bubble tea without milk and light honey. We waited more than I anticipated to pay and then to receive the tea. I thought the tea was okay, you couldn't really taste any honey at all, and the bobas were a little chewy and less soft. Also, I am not a fan of the paper straw as I felt it disintegrating into the tea and making the tea taste just ok.

This place is awesome. Tucked on the corner of Church and Bank Street, Dobra is the perfect place to read, buy and drink tea. I especially love the nooks, dim lighting, low tables and pillows to drink tea or snack. My only regret is not finding this place sooner and staying longer. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and patient with those unfamiliar with tea. The shop sells an assortment of herbal and black teas, allowing you to create a custom blend for $5.50 per ounce: they also have prepared mixes. Anyone interested in tea or finding a quiet and relaxing place should definitely check this out.

I've been to another Dobra Tea before and loved the setting and tea selection - this one didn't disappoint either. The seating area is so peaceful and full of plants, and the decor is really lovely. There are standard woven chairs with tables, but also areas to sit on cushions on the floor. I got the baba ganoush plate and an herbal chai. Both were great, but the plate seemed incredibly overpriced. I paid $9 for a small bowl of baba ganoush, some slices of flatbread (that ended up being a thin tortilla), and a few slices each of cucumber, celery, and carrots. After tax and tip, my bill was $20 for something that wasn't filling at all. I still love Dobra, but I wouldn't go there to get anything to eat, or I'd split the plates with a friend as a small snack.

I am a big fan of Dobra and have been to 2 others in different states. I was so excited when I dropped my freshman off at UVM to see this location. I finally had a chance to go in and have a cup of tea and zen. While we are under covid restrictions, I was still able to catch a little bliss at a corner area. There are restricting numbers of people inside and while I was partaking, they definitely turned people away from staying or directed them to the outside seating (fortunately it was a nice day) or take out. My only sadness is that my favorite rice dessert treat is not being made right now (my hearing was not good enough to catch why but all rice items are not being made at this time). My only complaint is that the area you pay and get loose tea from, while being a separate "room", was having line problems - distanced waiting goes into the sipping area and people were not getting that they needed to not be so close to our table. Sometimes the staff caught it and corrected it, others times not because they were busy and did not notice perhaps.

Awesome atmosphere! Love the crew. I wish I knew the closing time was 4:30 but ill know for next time so I can sit there and drink tea. Never been to any place like this.

What a lovely tea place! If it wasn't for covid, I would have love to hang out more. This place gives a cozy vibes with amazing collections of tea. We bought two bags of green tea and chamomile and they are absolutely amazing! Will definitely visit this place again!

Came in to grab my mom some tea for Xmas gift.. waited way too long but understand this is a low key spot where they give undivided attention to every patron which I fully respect. Upon being waited on the gentleman was patient with me and knowledgeable in explaining the different types of teas.. walked out a satisfied customer. Might I af, very affordable.

OBSESSED with this place!!! I'm sad there isn't anything like it in my town! I loved everything about it! Especially the mochi!

Just as I imagined - pillows for lounging, charming elements like a table side bell to place your order, huge and informative menu that could equally serve as the Bible of Tea, granola-eating patrons and employees and a coziness that is certain to thaw you out no matter how could it is outside. Located just off the bustling Church Street, I have been meaning to visit this well-rated tea haven for quite some time. The whole ordering, consumption, etc. process makes you feel welcome enough to stay all afternoon. I opted for the Jasmine Pearls tea and my date, the Chai. I can't speak for the Chai but the Jasmine Tea was just what I was hoping for - light and refreshing with a pot of hot water to keep the party flame alive. According to my accomplice, the matcha ice cream is where it's at - in fact, she told me it is only made for Dobra by a local creamery. I'll have to try it and some of the other sweets the next time I'm in town. Fun fact: they also have matcha chapstick. For the diehard tea fan...

This is such a cute little tea shop and such a relaxing and quiet place to sip, talk, and enjoy some fresh warm goodness. Their prices are not cheap, but that's because their products aren't cheap. This place has such a fun ambiance with tables and many other sit on the floor (pillows) tea areas to relax and socialize with friends. They've got loads of teas and a few different kind of snacks available as well if you're hungry. They also sell their tea at the cash register once you leave the tea shop. I kind of love that they separate the cash register from the tea room, it allows you to really enjoy the experience without the usual here's your bill kind of norm at most restaurants and other places like this. Neat place! I liked it.

Favorite tea place I've been to and favorite part of our trip to Burlington! My boyfriend and I are very international people and love authentic cuisine and drinks. We had a delicious and authentic Moroccan tea and I had an Argentinian mate tea, both amazing and reminding us of home/our travels. If you go, try to get one of the floor seating places, where you can sit on the pillows and relax. We stayed for ~2 hours and it was so comfortable and relaxing.

Went once to do work for a few orders and my partner ordered a Thai Iced Tea. It tasted wonderful and everyone was so kind and polite. Went a second time to do a ton of work with a friend as this is one of the only cafes in Burlington open after 5. I had forgotten my wallet and couldn't order, but continued to work. After what I thought was a kind direction as to where we should order if we needed, about an hour later, an employee or business owner came and said "You girls have been here a couple hours and we are kind of done," telling us to pack up and leave. I was misgendered and rudely kicked out. No one and no sign told us you had to order to use the space. This isn't a welcoming community space like I thought, just another moneymaking business who cares for profits and not people. Unfortunate.

The tea is amazing but the service is troublesome. I moved seats after being served my tea to sit closer to the window and was confronted by one of the employees. He proceeded to sanitize the table and sternly say "you're not allowed to move tables, your bill is attached to your table". He did not say this with the intention of making me move but rather to communicate the "rules". I didn't respond as his tone was rude and made me uncomfortable. While he lifted my water bottle with his rubber cleaning gloves by the straw (ew), he repeated what he had said, followed by "do you understand?". Again, I stood there and didn't say anything but nodded my head-- I had not intentionally done anything wrong and his raised voice was demeaning. Again... he looked at me and said "do you understand?". I could tell he wasn't going to let it go until I responded-- he was on some sort of power trip and was on some mission to make me feel guilty and humiliated. I have been a regular customer for years but will not be returning because I felt unsafe and do not need to pay to be spoken to like a child. When I went to pay they do not allow you to choose how much to tip and I was forced to pay 20% on a 7$ tea...for one of the worst customer service experiences of my life.

I tried a few drinks from here as well as a few of the desserts. I did not think the desserts were anything special, but the drinks were great. I keep going back to Burlington just to get their Rooibos Masala Chai. Its that good. If you want good tea and are not offended by cultural appropriation (you'll see what I'm talking about if you go in) then this is the place to go.

We recently read a book about pu'er tea, named "The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane". The beautiful story about Asian tea culture (great book, highly recommend!!). So, when our travels took us to Burlington, Dobra Tea on a lazy summer afternoon was a great find. We were looking for a bubble tea shop, when came across this gem. Their menu is like a tea bible! Extensive explanations and descriptions of tea types and kinds, world tea regions, preparation techniques etc. I loved all the concentrated information I was able to read. One of the menu sections was devoted to pu'er tea. My daughter was very excited, especially since one of the teas on the menu was made from tea cake, just like in the book we read. We had to try it! Our server was knowledgeable and showed the whole ritual on how to brew it. We thorougly enjoyed it. We also ordered couple bubble teas as well as tried some of their pastries (baklava and molasses cookies). Everything was fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a peaceful place to sip on interesting teas, Dobra Tea is the place with its quirky decor and extensive offerings. If our travels take us back to Vermont, I am hoping to visit this tea shop again.

This is a cool place to hang out. It's a good place to meet up with people and not drink alcohol. They have a good selection of teas and the people are genuinely friendly. I only gave 3/5 starts because I think $5 for a small cup of tea is too much **unless you're hangin out to enjoy the atmosphere.

Such a wonderful experience! Just walking into his shop relaxes you. Beautifully authentic. There are so many choices of delicious teas, lovely traditional seating options (as well as tables), beautiful atmosphere full of culture... I could go on and on! If you are a tea lover it is a MUST!

This is such a nice little place. They have some old-school sit-on-the-floor platforms and a nice little tea set where you go through this interesting multi-stage process to get your tea (and can get a pretty much endless amount of tea out of it). They also have snacky food, much of it, for some reason, middle Eastern. It was tasty though overpriced. Good atmosphere, pleasant server. Wish they'd include a pot holder for making the tea, though, because the little cup you pour the water into to steep it before pouring it into the pot gets HOT!

Get ready to read. The menu is a book, but a book full of information and descriptions of each tea. They offer a lot. They give you a bell to ring when you're ready to order. I'm not a big tea nut, but my sister suggested we stop in. The tea I got reminded me of Tazo Passion Tea and it was pretty good. No one had any complaints. We also tried some of the bakes goods and they were really tasty. Maple glazed donut, baklava, and some kind of lemon cake I think it was, that was really good. My only complaint was how dim the lighting was. Usually it's nice but it was to much. Staff was friendly. They also had teas and tea related items you could buy. Prices ranged from around $5 and up for tea.

It is just off the path from the Church Street Market in Burlington. It has absolutely perfect Bohemian chic vibe, including a cubby with poofs and a Japanese style dining table. The service was good once they realized we were there. The gentleman who made and served our tea was absolutely exceptional! He shared a little knowledge of our selected blend, explained how to make a perfect little pot, and left us feeling well cared for. We tried the chrysanthemum puer blend and ordered side of Vermont local honey. I loved it both with a little honey and unsweetened! My husband was better pleased with a little more honey than me. I fought with myself a bit on the rating, but one chose to give a four because it took the staff a while to realize we were there and to give us the bell. (The bell lets the staff know you are ready to order.) We did not try any of the food items, but there appeared to be a full range of usually trappings - scones, tea cakes, biscotti, etc.

Huge selection of tea and very cool atmosphere. 3/5 because of the very rude service. As we came in no one helped us so we assumed we had to seat ourselves. When we did, all hell broke loose. One of the workers (I'm assuming manager/owner from their older appearance from the rest of the staff) came to our table to chastise us, telling us that two people had tried to seat us and that we really shouldn't seat ourselves. After apologizing and saying that we must not have heard the staff, they continued to be rude as they hurried our order and all around seemed peeved that we had stayed to enjoy some tea. It really wasn't that big of a deal (we sat ourselves at the only available table, no one was waiting before us) but this staff member's haughty attitude really made it seem like we'd terribly inconvenienced them. Thankfully, a different staff member began to serve us and was very attentive and kind. The place is a very cool place to relax with friends but I'll be thinking twice before coming back again.

I've never seen so many different type of tea in one shop like this except for retail places. They have different well known teas from all over the world. The place is small but very cozy. Perfect for a first date. They give you a little bell, just ring it when you're ready to order. We just picked one since there are just too many. Besides tea, they also serve little appetizers. So we picked the hummus plate. You get the learn the art of drinking tea, it is so cool, but of course, something we dont have the patient to do at home. The hummus plate was good, i was just hope they have walnut and mint instead of carrots, celery, and cuccumber, but oh well, its not exactly meditarrian kind of place. I definately wanted to come back here again.

We stopped by for bubble tea. We ordered 3 bubble teas and a chai. The place has an incredible selection of teas. The staff was friendly and informative. Perhaps, ordering a hot tea would have turned out better. Overall, the bubble tea lacked flavor (even though we paid extra to have peach added to it) and was watery. We paid $32 for 4 drinks plus tip. I would not recommend or return based on our experience. If you are looking for bubble tea, keep walking.

The atmosphere and the tea was wonderful. I would have given this place five stars if the server with the topknot didn't tell us to move from one of the cozy tea corners when a larger party arrived. There was a customer seated at a four top and two other parties of two that weren't asked to move.

Dobra Tea is a quaint little tea house in the center of downtown Burlington. The tea menu is vast and has a tea perfect for every mood and palate. I had the plum tea which was fragrant and smooth. I do have a couple of gripes though. The busted and old wicker furniture is not cutting it here. It's uncomfortable and cheap looking. I was expecting plush couches and pillowy sitting chairs. Instead my butt hurt instantly and I couldn't stretch my legs out at all because the squat tables were at such an odd height. The disaffected hipster staff is also kind of a turn off. I know you could care less about everything in life but you don't have to be a downer towards us patrons. Also, I shouldn't complain but, I found their use of outside pastries and sweet treats kind of weird. If you can't whip up you're own batch of cookies and brownies, why have them at all? I don't like the thought of my dessert sitting around for god knows how long on the counter.

Oh my gosh, I wish I lived in Burlington just so I could have tea here at least once a week. It's very cozy and cool. Bring a book or a friend and settle in. Lovely tea!

To preface this review, I typically wouldn't seek out a place like Dobra on my own. Sure, I love tea, but I am in no way a tea connoisseur. I'm the type of girl who gets her tea from a bag or Starbucks, and every time I go to a place like Tealuxe or Infusions, I'm the slack-jawed yokel who stands agog at all the choices in front of her before settling on something really safe and boring. Also, Dobra tends to attract people who are high on spirituality and low on materialism, so you can imagine my discomfort at the prospect of going to such a place. I found that I had no reason for concern. The environment is incredibly soothing and relaxing. Low lights, earth tones, lots of candles, different types of exotic music, and saloons in the back complete with beaded curtains, Oriental rugs, and low tables with little pillows for sitting upon set the scene for relaxation while enjoying some top-notch teas. When presented with the tea menu (which is really a book), we were totally overwhelmed until we read some more about the different types of teas offered. At Dobra, one can get tea from virtually all over the world, and each comes with an interesting description. We settled on a blooming anemone black tea, the exact name of which escapes me. It was a lovely accompaniment to sitting at the sidewalk on Church Street, people-watching on a gorgeous August day. The staff were also quite pleasant and very knowledgeable, which is obviously a requirement to work at a place like Dobra, where people take their tea seriously. The total for our one pot of tea (which would have yielded multiple infusions of tea, had we stayed longer) was approximately $5, and I purchased two types of tea to bring home, including the type I had tried during my time there. Dobra is a lovely little relaxing place to sit down and have a cuppa after a day of shopping on Church Street. I'd definitely come back on another trip to Burlington.

We popped in on a blustery Monday afternoon to peruse their dry tea offerings and found some really cool stuff. Definitely a funky place, and one worth making an effort to visit if you are a fan of the black teas, as they had a crazy variety of options to offer, but we did find some great herbal tisane mixes and even got introduced to a green tea from Hawaii! The staff guys warmed up to us after a minute or so and we had a really great convo about their range of offerings and they packaged up our oz's efficiently and kindly. Definitely seems like a cool place to unplug and chillax - will try to make more time during a future return visit to really take it in. Prices are a bit higher than other tea areas, but they definitely had a more intensely curated list and really knew what was up. Worth a stop!
