Yelp
This restaurant has turned horrendously and not for the good Doc B's used to be one of our go-to spots. For years, we enjoyed countless date nights there and usually had great experiences. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, things have changed--and not for the better.
We've slowed down our visits because so many popular menu items are consistently out of stock. It's disappointing, especially when it's the most in-demand dishes, like the meatball. I've worked in the restaurant industry as a hostess, server, and manager, so I understand how inventory works. When a high-demand item repeatedly runs out, it reflects a breakdown in management or ordering--and that kind of inconsistency really impacts the customer experience.
We've returned four or five times in the last year and each visit has ended in disappointment. The meatball is, without question, one of the best I've had--across all types of Italian restaurants, upscale or casual. I order it as both an appetizer and an entrée because it's truly that good. But nearly every time we visit, it's unavailable.
I decided to give the restaurant one more shot and ordered a single meatball through Uber Eats ahead of our planned date night this Saturday. Thirty minutes after placing the order, I received a phone call letting me know the meatball was out of stock again. I shared my concerns on the call and expressed how frustrating this ongoing issue has been. I've voiced this concern to multiple managers over time and have been assured things would change, but nothing has improved.
I've referred many clients to this restaurant over the years, and unfortunately, they've had similar experiences. It's upsetting because the food really is fantastic--people want to love this place. But continued inconsistency with availability is driving customers away.
Because of this, I'll be canceling our upcoming date night. This was the last straw. I hope someone like Becca, who has always been an excellent manager and knows who I am, is made aware. Perhaps she can help bring back the level of care and quality this restaurant once had.
Please do better. The food deserves it--and so do your customers.
